Role Title: Community and Social Value Officer

Role Overview:
Reporting to the Community and Social Value Manager and joining the Community and Social Value Team, the postholder will work internally to support Enable services’ community work and externally to develop relationships and build capacity.
Internally, you will be working alongside Heads of Service and managers to support and expand the community work and social impact in services. This includes developing new projects, supporting volunteering, and leading on demonstrating Enable’s social impact in the
community. Externally, you will develop relationships and partnerships with a wide range of voluntary and community organisations, corporate business and statutory organisations helping to link to Enable’s services and build capacity in the community.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supporting Enable Services – working directly with each service to add capacity and expertise to develop and improve Enable’s community impact.
- Social Value and Impact Measurements – leading the improvement of our social value and impact measurement work, in particular how our services measure impact, using different data collection techniques and developing regular case studies.
- Developing data capturing techniques to regularly record data and track the organisations social value impact.
- Volunteering – leading Enable’s volunteering offer including Enable’s staff volunteering programme, Community Enablers. In addition to increase volunteering opportunities across each service including the creation of volunteer roles and being a key resource for centralised support for recruitment, training and volunteer reward and recognition.
- Community Engagement – developing relationships with local voluntary community sector organisations and understanding local need, challenges and inequalities.
- Capacity Building – support the development and delivery of Enable’s capacity building support to small charities and voluntary organisations, including advice, funding support, monitoring and working closely with the local voluntary sector partnership.
- Innovation and research – develop new ideas and initiatives to improve Enable’s impact and ability to connect communities.
- Support Enable’s strategy and ambitions to grow by highlighting our impact, providing case studies, supporting funding applications and tenders.
- Lead the writing and production of the annual Impact Report.
- Champion community and social value work within the organisation
- Represent Enable at conferences and events and confidently presenting Enable’s work.

Skills and Experience:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience networking and forming meaningful working relationships, with the ability to motivate and engage staff and relevant stakeholders
- Understanding of social value and impact measurement.
- Ability and confidence to build rapport and develop relationships and partnerships
- High level problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize effectively
- Experience working with voluntary groups and an understanding of their challenges.
- Experience working with volunteers (managing volunteers desirable)
- Excellent writing skills for a wide range of needs e.g. report writing, newsletters, case studies etc.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to communicate a vision simply and effectively.

Role Overview:
Responsible for co-ordinating and developing Enable’s Mental Health programmes, including but not limited to Active Wellbeing; both group and personalised one-to-one exercise support for people with a diagnosis of severe mental illness.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for coordinating aspects of Enable’s Mental Health programme
s. This includes planning, delivery, identifying areas for development, promotion, and reporting. - Deliver one to one client and community assessments with adults with SMI.
- Actively participate in staff meetings to share best practice and develop thinking, knowledge and learning.
- Identify and build partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders to support the delivery and growth of the programmes.
- Working with Enable Marketing and Communications department to develop and deliver the marketing and communication plan. This will include press releases, social media activity, creating promotional literature.
- Attend and coordinate community events to network, present and promote Mental Health and other local wellbeing opportunities.
- Monitor and document income and expenditure, working within the programme budget. Complete financial administration tasks such as creating purchase orders and invoices, according to Enable policy and procedure.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of your work. Provide written reports, summaries and presentations as required. Collect feedback and case studies to evaluate the impact of the programmes.
- Assists in managing resources provided to support the departments work including staff, volunteers, materials, and equipment ensuring these are used and maintained effectively.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to converse with key people (including clients and the public).
- Strong IT and web-based skills, with experience of using all applications within the Microsoft Office suite.
- Holds an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification in health, psychology, sport or exercise sciences (or similar) to demonstrate expertise.

The Role
We are looking for an experienced, driven and creative Marketing and Events Manager who brings a genuine passion for fundraising and events — and the skills to match. This is not primarily a desk-based marketing role: you will be the engine behind our events programme and a key driver of our fundraising income.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead the planning and delivery of CWC’s events calendar, manage our fundraising activities, and oversee the work of the Marketing and Events Officer. You will be equally comfortable developing the strategy and getting stuck into the detail of execution.
Events will be at the heart of what you do. You will take ownership of our flagship event, coordinate a varied programme of fundraising events, sector conferences and networking activities, and ensure every event is professionally delivered and leaves supporters feeling connected to our mission. You will manage relationships with venues, suppliers and sponsors, and keep a close eye on budgets and income targets.
Fundraising will be a core focus. You will be responsible for achieving financial targets from individual and corporate fundraising, developing creative campaigns across platforms such as Enthuse and JustGiving, and building the kind of relationships with supporters and partners that turn one-off donations into long-term engagement.
Alongside this, you will lead and support the Marketing and Events Officer, ensuring our marketing output — social media, newsletters, website content and campaigns — is consistent, engaging and aligned with our strategic goals.
About You
You will have a proven track record in events management and fundraising, ideally within the charity sector. You know what it takes to plan and deliver events from first concept through to post-event evaluation, and you understand how events can drive income as well as awareness.
You will be a confident, organised and proactive person who can manage competing priorities without losing sight of quality or deadlines. You will be comfortable working independently, managing your own workload and supporting others to manage theirs.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A proven track record in events management, with demonstrable experience of delivering fundraising income from events
- At least two years’ experience in a charity fundraising or events role
- Experience of line managing or supervising others
- Excellent relationship-building skills with sponsors, corporate partners and individual supporters
- Confidence using fundraising platforms (e.g. Enthuse, JustGiving) and CRM/database systems (Hubspot experience an advantage)
- Strong working knowledge of social media platforms, email marketing tools and website content management
- Experience managing budgets, monitoring income and expenditure, and reporting on financial performance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong project management skills
- Genuine enthusiasm for the charity’s mission and the people we support
Knowledge of the health and social care sector would be a distinct advantage, though not essential.

About the role

We are looking for a Support Services Officer to work alongside our nurse team to provide administrative support, with a particular focus on managing financial assistance delivered through the Rebuilding Futures Fund.
As a centre of expertise for after-care and support, we have established a successful Rebuilding Futures Fund (RFF), providing financial, practical and emotional support to people of all ages affected by meningitis across the UK.
About the Job
This role includes a wide range of administrative tasks – working with financial systems, maintaining accurate database records, coordinating the ordering of goods and services, and liaising with a variety of stakeholders. You will also communicate directly with individuals and families who have been impacted by meningitis. We are looking for someone who is organised, detail oriented, flexible, and able to demonstrate empathy and compassion for those we support.
Administration:
- Act as the primary point of contact for RFF-related work, both internally and externally, liaising with the nurse team regarding decisions and agreed actions.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Information and Support Team across all areas of service delivery.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the RFF, including creating and refining processes and procedures.
- Process all RFF applications, including conducting initial assessments.
- Coordinate the ongoing distribution and monitoring of financial awards.
- Support the marketing and promotion of the RFF, including maintaining website content and developing case studies.
- Prepare financial and activity reports in advance of monthly RFF panel meetings.
- Organise and attend monthly panel meetings and produce accurate minutes.

- Liaise with the Support Team regarding application processing and supporter enquiries.
- Share regular updates across the wider organisation on RFF activity and outcomes.

Job Purpose
The Head of Community Support and Operations is a pivotal new role being introduced to the executive team at Barnsley CVS. This person will be a key role in the growth and development of the executive team. You will play an exciting part in the delivery and development of the recently developed 4-year strategy and theory of change. Your role will drive intention and focus on developing our support to the sector in a meaningful way to high standards, whilst ensuring our own internal operations reflect best practice. You will need a strong knowledge of charity set up, management and governance along with a passion for what the VCSE sector does. You will be confident in people management and development; have the ability to work inclusively with a wide range of people and backgrounds and the skill to see gaps and opportunities for service development.
You will work closely with the Head of Strategic Partnerships to identify gaps and opportunities to develop our offer of support to the sector whether through direct services, training, brokerage agreements or membership offers. As you identify these opportunities, you will work collaboratively with the Head of Business Development to explore commercial income options that are also in line with our mission and vision.
Using your excellent people skills, you will act as the first point of contact for HR matters within the charity, overseeing the general management of our online HR system, policies and procedures. You will work in collaboration with the CEO in any areas that need significant development or management.
You will keep up to date with new initiatives and ideas in the wider infrastructure sector, relevant legislation and modern thinking in relation to charity management best practice.
