The role
This role will work collaboratively within Manchester City Council’s multi-disciplinary Thriving Families Team to support families where children are open to Child Protection or Child In Need plans by working with the person who is causing or has caused harm. The Domestic Abuse Prevention Worker will strive to make contact and work on a one-to-one basis with perpetrators of domestic abuse identified through the Thriving Families multi-disciplinary team. By delivering a tailored intervention we aim to increase the perpetrator’s accountability and motivation to change, whilst reducing risk to victims and children. The Domestic Abuse Prevention worker will work closely with the Thriving Families Team and existing agencies as part of a co located multi agency approach. The Domestic Abuse Prevention worker will work closely with the victim/survivor service to review risk, develop safety plans, and improve outcomes for all parties involved.

Key Responsibilities:
Interagency work
- Work to embed the Domestic Abuse Prevention role into multi-agency responses to domestic abuse in the area, in line with the Thriving Families Manchester Team.
- Support other professionals within the Thriving Families Team in responding to service users in a way that aligns with the aims and ethos of TLC.
- Working closely with other professionals to ensure that risk management and safeguarding duties are effectively met.
- Develop and maintain effective partnership working with statutory, private, and voluntary agencies to address the issue of domestic abuse.
- Represent the service at operational multi-agency meetings, feeding back initiatives and outcomes to the team and contribute to the evaluation of the quality of activities these services offer.
- Provide a single point of proactive and regular contact for a range of professionals involved in the case of the service user.
- Be flexible and willing to work in all types of environments.
Case management
- Comply with child protection and information sharing policies, ensuring that service users and colleagues understand and comply with the service’s safeguarding framework.
- Manage a case load focusing on working with perpetrators of all levels of risk of domestic abuse to provide an assertive, medium to long term service, based on thorough assessment and individual support planning that adopts the principles of both, support and motivation to change.
- Contribute to regular service reviews which include monitoring data, evaluations, intake and output policy, and practice and workload reviews for the whole service.
- Attend regular case management meeting with the TLC Service Manager and regular meetings within the Thriving Families Manchester Team.
- Attend clinical and practice supervision.
- Take appropriate steps to protect where there is an imminent risk to another person.
Recording and administration
- Ensure that case files and records are accurate and complete and are kept and in compliance with Data Protection Act requirements.
- To enter all the required information into organisational electronic case management system to enable tracking of service user change, multi-agency working and risk management.
- Weekly maintenance and accurate and secure audit trail of all relevant communication.
- Comply with the data protection and information sharing protocols to support the Thriving Families Model.
Direct work with service users
- Maintain a proactive response to service users, continuously providing positive options for behaviour change throughout the service users time on service.
- Use combination of motivational work, relationship building and a broad range of therapeutic skills to engage service users to address their abusive behaviour.
- Motivate and support service users to address the broad range of needs that may contribute to the risk that they pose to others or act as barrier for them in addressing that risk. e.g., housing, substance use etc.
- Ensure that there is a consistent delivery of services to the identified perpetrators of domestic abuse, including comprehensive risk assessment, support planning, referrals to other agencies and MARACs.
- Undertake assessment of risk, needs and attitudes to inform the individual service user’s intervention plan.
- Ensure that risk assessment and risk management procedures are followed.
- Respect and value the diversity of the community in which the service works in, providing a service that recognises the diverse needs of service users and their families.
- Work closely with the victim services supporting the partners, ex-partners, new partners, and family members of service users in managing risk and developing intervention plans, as part of the Thriving Families model.
- The welfare and safety of children and young people is paramount, considered in every aspect of your work, address parenting needs where appropriate and taking action to safeguard children.
General
- Remain up-to-date and compliant with all relevant legislation connected to your work, including organisational procedures, policies and professional codes of conduct and practice guidance, to uphold standards of best practice.
- Represent the service at local events; deliver training and presentations as required.
- Feed into the learning process via the Service to improve services to perpetrators of domestic abuse ensuring that the experiences of service users and other agencies inform this process.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To support the delivery of ‘Connected’ and monthly meetings for children and young people and the National Lottery Community Fund supported Adoption Alliance Project.

Main Duties

To work with the Lead Youth Worker/Adoption Alliance Lead to deliver Connected and Adoption Alliance services across North Wales, and in particular to assist with the groups and support young people to achieve their goals.

IKWRO - Women’s Rights Organisation is a registered charity (number 1151507) which supports Middle Eastern women and girls living in the UK who are facing “honour” based violence, forced marriage, domestic violence or female genital mutilation. As well as providing support to individual women and girls, we run training for professionals and campaigns for better laws and policies to protect women’s rights. The post-holder will be responsible for providing intensive case work including risk assessments, safety planning, support, safety, assistance and follow up work to women and girls who are high risk of “Honour” Based Violence (HBV), forced marriage, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and domestic violence. This will entail receiving and assessing referrals, practical assistance, emotional support and a safe environment to ensure that women and girls settle in the safe accommodation while promoting independence and well-being.

The Domestic Abuse Marginalised Communities Worker will provide support and interventions to those affected by domestic abuse to empower and support and break the cycle of domestic abuse throughout their journey with Stop Domestic Abuse, regardless of risk. The Navigator will be committed to family work and proactively work to recognise and implement solution focused actions to ensure eradicate domestic abuse from families lives.
The Domestic Abuse Marginalised Communities Worker will provide additional expertise to the wider team and enrich the service with specialist knowledge and guidance relating to victims who may experience additional barriers to accessing support from our service due to their ethnicity. The Lead Navigator will develop initiatives, workshops and training packages for both internal and external professionals. The role will encompass peer to peer support, direct one-to-one support to victims who may be at medium or high risk of harm, whilst also engaging with communities and local organisations in the local area to improve our response to domestic abuse. This role does not involve the line management of staff.
The Portsmouth Service operates as one team, and all staff are responsible for taking referrals for all aspects of the service, offering immediate support, advice and assessments to clients or people contacting the service, welcoming families into refuge and completing relevant paperwork, and ensuring the smooth running of the service. This will include providing cover when required for absent colleagues to ensure that the core functions of the service are delivered and responding to changing demand in service provision. The Portsmouth Service is a team committed to whole family work, when safe to do safe, creating a family journey through the service.

About you
You are able to listen to, engage and work with individuals and communities and with all stakeholders, including people with lived experience of homelessness. You will have experience, knowledge of and/or proven ability in housing and homelessness advice and advocacy and are able to progress to specialist level knowledge, as well as the ability to carry out casework related interviews, maintain detailed case records, advise and support clients to make informed decisions. A proven record of delivering group workshops and presentations is essential, as is a collaborative, flexind professional approach to your work.

· To work within temporary accommodation provided by New Forest District Council (NFDC) provide intensive support to the victim / survivor and their child(ren) living within the properties.
· To provide high-quality crisis intervention, information, advocacy, and proactive support to victims / survivors who access the NFDC resident and housing options.
· To work with colleagues at NFDC to increase knowledge and develop responses to victims and survivors of domestic abuse through formal and informal training sessions, this includes colocation within the council.

Service overview: Homeless Assessment hub in central London! In this role you will be one of the experienced heads on the Move on team that supports clients at the 28 bed assessment hub, readying them for move on and helping clients to obtain longer term accommodation. The service supports clients who have been referred by the local authority and outreach teams. The aim is to assess clients, provide support for their needs and find accommodation for them within a 28-day period. This is not always possible due to the complex nature of move on, but the service plays a pivotal role in the lives of many homeless people.
The successful candidate will:
- Responsible for the continual improvement of service effectiveness, ensuring that service users or internal customers receive a high-quality outcome-focussed service.
- Responsible for maximising the contribution of all workers (paid and unpaid) within the team to the overall effectiveness of the service.
- Support staff, trainees, students and volunteers, including appropriate action to address problematic standards of performance or conduct in accordance with service procedures. Ultimately this will sit with the manager but as an experienced worker, you will be supporting the manager with highlighting concerns and supporting the team with tricky cases
- Responsible for supporting the project and support workers including key-work, case recording, face to face work, group work, advice giving, advocacy and other interpersonal work.
- Shared responsibility for the operational management, this will be shared across yourself, another lead worker and the service manager

Trainees who successfully complete the qualification and internal programme will be invited to apply for a permanent Key Worker role within the organisation as they become available.

Join the team at Castle Service in Cambridge, a dispersed supported housing provider supporting 14 young people aged 16 ‐25 years old who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The service operates on a hybrid working model which can include home working, remote working within the community or working from our office base. You will have the autonomy to manage your case load and working arrangements where they support the operational objectives of the Service.
In this varied and challenging role, you will work with young people to set goals to develop their confidence and internal resources and help them to move on from temporary services to permanent accommodation at the earliest opportunity. Another key aspect of this role is accommodation management which will see you support the service users to ensure the accommodation is Health and Safety compliant, well kept, clean and tidy.
You have experience of engaging or working with young people as well as the ability to work autonomously. You will be independent with a positive, can‐do attitude and keen to break down the stigma of homelessness and mental health.
Access to a car would be desirable due to the need to travel between the four supported houses.
