CST Client Advisor

Role:

As a CST Client Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in assisting clients transitioning from military to civilian life by providing tracking, referral, and job matching services. Working closely with the CST team, you will offer advice and guidance to both clients and employers, utilising ADAPT and the CTP jobs board (RightJob). This role requires a dedicated individual with exceptional communication skills and a passion for supporting others.

Reporting to the CST Team Leader and Support Centre Manager, you will contribute to the efficient operation of our office through your dedication and customer service skills.

This role offers flexible working hours, including options for full-time or part-time (minimum of 3 days or 21 hours) employment, and is open to job share arrangements with a salary of £22,000 pro rata.

Key Responsibilities:

​

• Monitor the progress of clients through telephone and email tracking, adhering to CTP CCMP and relevant working instructions.
• Refer clients to appropriate resources such as Employment Advisors, Specialist Employment Consultants, or Career Consultants, in alignment with CTP CCMPs.
• Provide responsive helpdesk support to employers and service leavers requiring assistance with CTP online services.
• Accurately record all interactions with clients and employers on the CTP ADAPT BMS.
• Track client outcomes post-discharge and record successful "Settled" outcomes as per CST CCMP.
• Encourage employers to utilize the Right Job registration and vacancy posting process.
• Assist in promoting CTP services to service leavers and employers.
• Provide cover for other team members during absences or holidays.
• Undertake additional tasks and requests as directed by the CST Team Leader / Support Centre Manager.

Person Specification:

Essential Competencies:

• NVQ Advice and Guidance (Level 3) or equivalent.
• Experience in guiding, advising, and supporting individuals.
• Self-motivated team player dedicated to achieving successful outcomes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a personable manner and strong telephone technique.
• Proficient in IT and keyboard skills.
• Experience in business administration, including database and customer relation management systems.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our services provide 154 units of accommodation to people experiencing homelessness and have complex needs. The services are 24 hour supported accommodation sites. OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Line Management and Leadership

• Provide high quality support, leadership and line management to staff, offer guidance, support, and advice to the team and support them to perform to the best of their abilities.

Service Delivery

• Manage the overall day-to-day operational delivery of your service, working directly with your team, colleagues, residents and participants, as well as other stakeholders to provide a high-quality, holistic service which meets the needs of our residents.
• Ensure service responsibilities and requirements are carried out effectively. This includes but is not limited to; welfare checks, risk assessments, support sessions, safeguarding checks, training and development, and other responsibilities required for effective service delivery.
• Support the team to carry out their day to day duties and responsibilities, offer guidance and support as necessary. 
• Work proactively to ensure the service and team meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators, and work in line with professional codes of conduct.
• Empower residents and participants to make decisions to take control over their lives, by creating an enabling environment.
• Be part of the operational on-call Rota for providing out-of-hours support across the operations directorate.

Risk Management

• Follow relevant risk assessment and management procedures, share relevant information with others as necessary.
• Ensure all case recording and information is accurately recorded in a timely manner, ensuring confidentiality and GDPR.
• Champion, and act as a point of reference for safeguarding concerns within the service(s). Ensure all staff attend relevant safeguarding and training and use knowledge to coach and advise the team.

Property and Housing Management

• Ensure the accommodation in which residents live is clean and maintained to a high standard
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance issues are correctly reported and managed through to completion.
• Ensure a provision of high quality housing management service is provided to residents. 

Financial Management

• Manage the service budget and review monthly management accounts: Set budgets and ensure resources are maximised.
• Promote effective cost control mechanisms and other financial activities.
• Maintain financial management within the service.

Other

• Some of what else is included: Contract management and Internal auditing, admin, and general other duties as required. 

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. Please refer to the JDPS attached for more information.

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours
• Experience of working with and engaging with diverse groups of people from varying backgrounds
• Previous experience in people management and development
• IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software.
• Ability to promote the service and provide outreach-based provision, with an ability to liaise and work effectively in partnership with stakeholders
• Understanding of Housing Management, including voids and evictions

We are recruiting for a Divisional Children’s Worker to provide practical knowledge, expertise, and example of children’s ministry. Working to develop and deliver a children’s work strategy to enable local corps and centres to raise leaders and children who are disciples of Jesus in our tradition of social change and justice. The South West Divisional Headquarters is in Exeter and the applicant will be required to travel there at least once fortnightly as well as visiting various areas across the division including Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Wiltshire, Bristol and Gloucester. Although, this post will be more focused in Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.

Key responsibilities include:

• Equipping and empowering children’s leaders to enhance their communities and engage with children and the issues that affect them.
• Enabling children to experience ‘Fullness of life with Jesus’ in broader contexts. This might involve leading event and residential opportunities as well as children’s work in corps contexts.
• Contributing into the planning and review process for the programmes and activities across the division.

This role has an occupational requirement that you must be a committed and practising Christian. As well as being an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and organisational skills, you will have:

• A recognised qualification in youth work and/or good experience of working with young people in outreach, discipleship, and leadership.
• Practical experience of developing community youth outreach projects and schools based mentoring programmes.
• Relevant technical skills, including project management, finance, stakeholder engagement, social media.
• The ability to work flexibly including evenings, weekends, overnight and residential weeks when necessary.
• A clean driving licence

Greater Manchester Youth Federation (“GMYF”) is looking for 3 Youth Workers (2 x Part Time and 1 Full Time) who will work with young people at their Partington Youth and Community Centre and Whitemoss Centre in Charlestown, Manchester. 

About GMYF 

GMYF is a long-established charity that works with young people across Greater Manchester, to support their aspirations and create opportunities. Our mission is to deliver a year-round programme of recreational and educational opportunities to young people, volunteers and leaders within our stand-alone centres and to provide support to affiliated clubs. 

GMYF opened our first Youth Centre in Partington in September 2022 and are in the process of opening a new Youth Centre in Charlestown. These Centres provide support for young people with a wide range of activities and make a real difference to the lives of many young people. We also have various current/former playing field sites in the Greater Manchester area and jointly own an Outward Activities Centre in Cumbria – Ormside Mill. We have 27 affiliated clubs who undertake a variety of different activities for young people. GMYF has great ambition to continue to do more for young people, with its own assets and various potential funding opportunities.

The Roles 

The role of the Youth Worker is to be young person centred and to provide a nurturing, safe and supporting environment for the young people, building and maintaining positive relationships with them. You will be predominantly based at Partington Youth and Community Centre working with 9-16 year olds. You will support the Youth Activities Lead in planning and delivering a full programme of activities including Centre-based activities and outdoor trips, as well as supporting our outdoor adventure team with outdoor activities and residentials.

Key areas of focus for the Youth Worker will be: 

• Support the young people: always take a young person-centred approach to all activities. Maintain the ethos of the organisation by providing a nurturing, safe and supporting environment. Build and maintain positive relationships with the young people, recognising their different needs and starting points. Have strong commitment to the values of acceptance and respect within youth and community work. Be a positive role model for the young people. Encourage the young people to take an active role in social action projects youth voice and young leader activities. 

• Assist the Youth Activities Lead: work together with the team in planning and delivery of full programme of activities, including evening youth club sessions. Assist in the development and introduction of additional activities eg twilight sessions, drop ins, youth voice, targeted group work, mentoring. Identify the formal and informal educational, social, cultural and recreational needs of the young people and plan a programme of positive interventions and innovations which enhances the knowledge, awareness and personal development of the young people. Articulate and record young people’s progression in sessional and project recording documentation and provide information for management and funding reporting. ·  

• Residentials: Attend weekend residentials and events at the GMYF’s outdoor pursuits centre and encourage the young people to get involved. Support and assist with the planning and delivery of off-site trips/activities and residentials at various locations.

• Safeguarding: comply with all policies and procedures, with reference to safeguarding, codes of conduct, health and safety, and equality and diversity. Be alert to issues of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the welfare and safety of youth club members is promoted and safeguarded. Report any child protection concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead. Participate in Safeguarding training. 

• Represent Greater Manchester Youth Federation: Ensure conduct is professional and represents Greater Manchester Youth Federation in a positive manner both to internal and external visitors, working with a wide range of both local partners and community organisations. 

• Continued Personal Development: Commit to your own training and development, accessing available training including youth work specific courses e.g. National Youth Agency courses. Funding and support is available from GMYF to assist your continued development.

About You  

We are looking for candidates who believe in GMYF’s mission and are experienced in working with young people. You should be able to build positive relationships with young people, always taking a young person centred approach. You will have some experience planning and delivering activities, and bring creative and innovative ideas about activities you could run for the young people. You should have strong teamwork and organisational skills, understanding of safeguarding, and willingness to undertake further training.

Salary & Benefits 

£22,369-27,852 FTE depending on experience. NJC Grade 4-5 

Hours: part-time roles 17.5 hours per week and 35 hours per week full-time role– needs to be flexible, includes evenings and occasional residentials. Flexible working hours will be considered depending on successful candidates.

• London Stalking Support, a specific service to provide advice and advocacy for victims in London, including the development of a trauma-led approach to advocacy. 

• London Stalking Threat Assessment Centre, we are a key partner in this intervention programme for stalking perpetrators, in an interdisciplinary setting involving partners from the health and criminal justice services. We provide victim centred advocacy.

· Working With: Other members of the wider A4Y team, schools, key partners including the management partner, young people and parent/guardians.

 Main Purpose and Scope of the Role

 This programme is part of a consortium bid via the NCS Community Grant scheme and will run from September 2023 until the end of March 2025. NCS is a government-funded initiative that brings together schools, community organisations, businesses and individuals to build a stronger and more cohesive society.

This role will work independently to deliver the Grow Your Ambition programme for young people aged 16/17 years across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes. The programme will be delivered in partnership with local schools, during term time, and includes three experiences; Grow Your Life Skills, Grow Your Employability and Grow Your Community. This role is a fixed term contract until the end of March 2025.

Each young person engaged in the programme must participate in all three experiences, totalling 48 hours. Key phases of each experience include preparation, session and curriculum planning, liaising with schools and external partners and actual programme delivery.

 Each programme consists of:

Grow your Life Skills

· A two day, one night, residential experience at our outdoor education centre, Caldecotte Xperience in Milton Keynes.

· Two outdoor adventurous activities on site that focus on teambuilding, communication and problem solving.

· Delivery of Life Skills sessions such as a cooking challenge, money skills, First Aid, mental resilience and more

· Total 24 hours

Grow Your Employability

· Two days based in school, delivered in line with the school day

· Delivery of a variety of Employability sessions such as personal presentation, confident speaking, CV writing and interview skills

· Total 12 hours

Grow Your Community

· Two days based in school, delivered in line with the school day

· One day delivery of a variety of sessions based on social action and community engagement

· One day volunteering with a local charity

· Total 12 hours

Duties and Key Responsibilities

 · Contact and recruit schools from across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes to sign up to the programme

· Organise delivery dates and programme timetables for their students within the contractual requirements of the programme

· Plan each programme and create a timetable of activities for students to follow

· Deliver sessions to groups of students as per each experience

· Stay overnight for the Grow Your Life Skills residential

• Work with local community organisations to host volunteering days

· Work within a set budget to deliver the programme, ensuring each experience is delivered to a high standard

· Enter data onto the NCS/ Action4Youth CRM system

· Deliver a high quality programme to young people across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes as per contractual requirements

· Report to the programme management partner and collect personal details of young people for reporting purposes

· Attend meetings with management partner and other organisations within the consortium

· Prepare and deliver reports for funders and the Action4Youth Senior Management Team (SMT)

· Develop positive relationships with schools across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes to ensure commitment to the programme

• Act as an Ambassador for Action4Youth at all times

General Responsibilities

· Support events and meetings when required.

• Support the continued development of quality standards as specified by Action4Youth.
• Support in other areas of the organisation as required by the CEO

If you have catering skills, certification in food safety and hygiene (or willingness to gain this), and the ability to encourage, motivate and challenge, you could be the person we are looking for to join our friendly staff team. 

As a cook, alongside the existing post-holders, you would take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, working together with our residents themselves to provide lunch (up to 50 people) and dinner (up to 25 people). We are looking for someone who can work approximately one in two weekends and occasional weekdays. No evenings.

· Ensuring that nutritious meals are provided, and that food hygiene and Health and Safety protocols are adhered to

· Supervising residents allocated to the kitchen, providing meaningful and positive work for them

Community Fundraising Manager

The Mencap Community and Events Team has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, motivated and passionate fundraiser,  dedicated to raising as much funds as possible to help make the UK the best place to live for people with a learning disability to join our team as Senior Community Fundraising Manager covering England and Wales.

Covering the England and Wales the Community Fundraising Manager will be responsible for managing various income streams across the Community portfolio working closely with the wider team.

Within this role, you will achieve agreed fundraising targets through effective management, support and cultivation of both existing and new regional supporters including: individuals, groups, associations, local corporates and schools whilst maximising the current portfolio of Mencap owned products. You will research, identify and develop new community fundraising opportunities, areas of potential support and build a robust pipeline for restricted grants and corporate partners.

The role is home based. There will be travel around the areas that the role covers.

This position is a permanent, full-time role to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday. The nature of community fundraising is that there will be evening and weekend work, for which time off in lieu will be given.

We are now looking for an experienced and innovative individual to support the engagement and outreach of our Young Women’s Service.

The successful candidate will be experienced in developing and delivering creative Gender Based Violence (GBV) prevention programs and confident to successfully engage young women in a wide range of settings including schools, colleges, youth programs & pupil referral units to raise awareness, challenge and positively influence the attitudes and behaviours that normalise GBV in this peer group. You will receive training on delivering GBV Resilience Programs that build psychological and emotional resilience in young people (YP) to strengthen protective factors to promote positive mental and emotional well-being in YP. You will co-produce and deliver training and awareness raising work for professionals, including first responders and managers in GBV related services / mental health provisions, educational centres and non-abusing family members and carers to facilitate appropriate response towards YP at risk. 

About you

You will therefore be skilled in nurturing and developing YP voices and active engagement within such forums. You will be skilled at working alongside young women with an acute awareness of how to successfully co-create and co-deliver training packages to professionals and the wider community, thus centralising YP as the leaders and change agents in the project.
