About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Legal Director will lead Good Law Project’s legal work and support the wider leadership of Good Law Project as a member of its senior management team (SMT).

• Qualified solicitor or barrister – presently practising or not practising – of a minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience in England and Wales.

We are looking for a motivated, creative, and organised Engagement and Communications Officer to join our team. The Renewal Programme is a thriving community development charity that relies heavily on volunteers for the successful delivery of our varied projects. With over 100 active volunteers per year, we are looking for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to fill a 12-month maternity cover role. This post is crucial to our mission, focusing on the development, growth, and delivery of our vital volunteer program. Your role will directly impact our community, enabling us to provide rewarding and high-quality experiences for our incredible volunteers and further our reach and positive change in Newham.

As a central figure in our varied community development work, you will lead on harnessing the power of volunteering. Your responsibilities will span across implementing effective volunteer management strategies, enhancing volunteer engagement and recognition, and fostering strong community partnerships. 

You will be a dynamic individual with strong leadership and organisational skills, a passion for volunteering, and a proven track record in volunteer management. You will need to be self-motivated, capable of working both independently and as part of a team, and committed to our values of dignity, inclusion, collaboration, and empowerment.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Volunteer Program Development: Implementing strategies aligned with our goals, maintaining policies for effective management, and collaborating across departments to identify and fulfill volunteer needs.

Recruitment and Onboarding: Crafting clear volunteer roles, developing diverse recruitment strategies, and ensuring a robust onboarding process to integrate volunteers into their roles effectively.

Training and Development: Supporting training programs to equip volunteers with necessary skills, providing ongoing support, and collaborating with external organizations for additional training opportunities.

Engagement and Recognition: Developing strategies to boost volunteer motivation, organising events to foster a sense of belonging, and maintaining communication to keep volunteers informed and appreciated.

Data Management: Utilizing our database to track volunteer information and impact, ensuring data protection compliance, and generating reports to monitor program performance.

Newham Community Renewal Programme welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and identities. 

The Ripple Pond is a charity that supports adult family members of physically and/or psychologically injured British Armed Forces personnel and veterans. Many of these individuals and family members are hard to reach and often isolated.

Your role will be to ensure that more and more of the military community, professionals and other interested parties know who we are and how to access our support.

You will also help to organise our exciting programme of online talks and activities for our Members (service-users) to help ensure they are well-informed, involved and feel part of a supportive community. Making sure that Members are always involved in generating ideas and production.

We are looking for someone who is dynamic and determined, but you also need to be invested in our mission as a charity and care about people.

This role is about;

• working with a wide range of groups and individuals to help raise awareness of the charity and to create opportunities to identify new Members (service users);

• being responsible for networking, identifying, and establishing partnerships with key individuals and organisations and nurturing existing relationships;

• developing and rolling out strategies to engage with hard-to-reach and isolated military carers and families;

• coordinating a range of activities (mainly online) to deliver information to Members, potential Members, referrers, and other stakeholders. These will include online talks from staff, Members and other “subject matter experts”; and

• helping to ensure the charity continues to understand the developing needs of its Members.

Although the role is home-based, you will not be working in isolation; you will be supported by the managers and workforce.

All our staff are home-based, and we maintain a strong caring culture of teamwork, mutual support and promoting wellbeing at work.

You may be exposed to traumatic narratives from our Membership, for many this is a reality in their lives. We do provide an extensive framework of clinical and managerial support but you do need to be an emotionally and psychologically resilient individual.

We are seeking an experienced community engagement professional with a demonstrable track record of team leadership, inspiring education and engagement outcomes and successful grant fundraising.

The Head of Engagement will provide maternity cover for approximately 13 months and work as part of the Senior Leadership Team at SERT to drive how we influence, engage and empower people and communities to value and protect rivers in the South East.

You will bring passion for our cause and demonstrable experience in delivering inspiring outcomes from education and engagement projects and programmes. You will drive the further development of our Engagement Strategy with innovation and creativity, securing external funding to deliver against the Trust’s strategy and ambition.

Kineara is looking for someone who can grow our fundraising potential and engage key stakeholders across the sector, while delivering engaging communications and outreach campaigns that demonstrate our social value and grow our support base. You will be keen to understand how our work makes a difference to people and use our impact to demonstrate our social value.  This role crosscuts a range of key charitable specialisms, so you may have experience working in communications and be keen to widen your skillset; you may have a background in impact evaluation; or you may have worked in fundraising or development for a non-profit. We are keen to invite candidates with a range of experience from a variety of non-profit roles and are especially interested to meet candidates who have been part of – or are ready to be part of - the strategic growth of a charitable organisation.

Job Description

Communications:     

• Develop, contribute to and implement impact-driven and strategic communications campaigns that build Kineara’s fundraising capacity and raise awareness of the issues
• Develop brand identity for Kineara’s new charitable arm, ensuring it is consistent across all activities in the organisation, while maintaining Kineara’s overall ‘look and feel’ to ensure coherence in branding, colours, messaging, style and approach.
• Oversee the creation, development, distribution of compelling, impact-driven story-telling about Kineara’s work and beneficiaries using interviews, blogs, case studies, etc.
• Use a range of platforms to distribute print and electronic content including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, leaflets, posters reports, e-newsletters, and Kineara’s website
• Work closely with IT and business managers to ensure smooth running of internal communications
• Impact:
• Work closely with Operations Manager and practitioners to embed outcomes, create frameworks for monitoring and evaluate Kineara’s projects; and produce yearly evaluations and Impact Report of Kineara’s services
