Day Care Officer – Day Care Centres 

Age UK Camden Day Care Centres are looking to recruit a Day Care Officer to cover  20 hours a week in shifts (4 x 5 hours) across our two Day Care Centres. 

There is a need to be flexible to be able to cover all days Monday to Friday and days are subject to change based on the rota. 

We are also looking to recruit a Day Care Officer on a 25 hour week for maternity cover on a fixed term contract starting on the 1st September 2025 for 39 weeks. 

Our Centres provide a wide range of activities as well as being a specialist Day Care Centres caring for older people with complex needs. The Day Care Centres also provide a hot lunch and a range of special events. We have a dedicated, specialist team supporting people with care needs, including those living with mild - moderate dementia and complex needs. 

The successful candidates will: 

• Have shared responsibility in the team for the implementation of a comprehensive service of care and support for service users 

• Act as a key worker for individual clients

• Deliver holistic and person centred wellbeing services which provide service users with social interaction and support to maintain their personal interests. 

Salary: Starting at SCP 4 £25,209.19 pa incl. London Weighting for 35 hpw - pro rata for part time which is £14,405.25 for 20 hours per week and £18,006.56 pa for a 25 hour week) 

(Staff work across both centres so need to be able to travel to Kings Cross and Hampstead.  Shifts range in times across the day and you must be able to work all the various shifts)

Purpose of the Role

This exciting new role is about creating connections, building ecosystems and developing and strengthening relationships that power social justice movements. As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will work closely with the CEO to lead our partnerships and community engagement work — creating the enabling conditions and networks that help youth-led movements grow, sustain, and make lasting change.

We are looking for a passionate and ambitious Head of Fundraising to lead and grow our voluntary income. This is a pivotal leadership role at a time of strategic change and opportunity. The Head of Income Generation will be responsible for delivering significant and sustainable income growth across our key fundraising streams: Corporate Partnerships, Community & Events, Trusts & Grants, Legacies, and Lottery & Individual Giving.

You will lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing fundraising team, and play a key role in shaping our organisational direction as part of the Senior Leadership Team. Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Lead the development and delivery of the income generation strategy in line with the new three-year organisational strategy.

The Operations team forms the bedrock of the charity and this new role offers considerable room for growth and development.

We're looking for a passionate individual to join Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust as our Head of Fundraising. This is a new senior strategic position within Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust (OHC&AT), with overarching responsibility for all Fundraising across the organisation. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

OPERATIONAL

1. Business and Operational Management:

• Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across departments.
•  Design and implement new processes to monitor trading performance.
• To act a responsible point of contact for managing day-to-day facilities and building issues.
• Management of external contracts relating to facilities and running of the organisation.

2. Compliance and Governance:

• Maintain accurate records and policies, working closely with trustees or board members.

FINANCE

3. Financial Management and Planning:

At an exciting and key stage in our journey we have the opportunity for Youth and Community Directors to join our team supporting Oasis’ youth and community work in neighbourhoods in the following regions;

With accountability to the Oasis CEO for Youth and Community the role of the regional Youth and Community Director will have three main functions:

The Conversation is an independent provider of news and views, sourced from the academic and research community and delivered directly to the public. Our team of professional editors work with university, and research institute experts to make their knowledge accessible to the public in an accessible manner.

The Conversation is funded by university members, grant and philanthropic sources and reader donations. It is a charity, and operates as a for-purpose, not-for-profit company. Its content is freely available and distributed beyond its website using a Creative Commons licence.

Access to high-quality, accurate and independent information underpins a functioning democracy. Our aim is to ensure better understanding of current affairs and complex issues by publishing explanatory journalism, analysis and reports of research findings produced by academics with recognised expertise. The Conversation aims to enrich public discussion and provide easy access to quality information, with knowledge that can be trusted and information that is useful.

Since our launch in 2013, The Conversation has grown to a staff of 40 and has recently launched a commercial subsidiary, Universal Impact. We are looking for a new Office Manager to manage the day-to-day administrative operations of the company. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee office operations and procedures for The Conversation, including some limited support for Universal Impact;

• Work with the Chief Executive and Editor to ensure a safe, collegiate and healthy office environment

• Maintain office policies and procedures, updating documentation as needed

• Manage day to day HR activities, scheduling appraisals, managing holiday, staff development

• Support HR functions such as onboarding/offboarding, maintaining employee records, and coordinating staff wellbeing initiatives

• Assist with recruitment processes, including drafting job descriptions, posting vacancies, and coordinating candidate communications 

• Act as secretariat for The Conversation’s various boards, scheduling meetings, distributing papers, and taking accurate minutes

• Plan, schedule and coordinate internal events, team meetings, and staff away days

• Accepting and sorting mail and deliveries

• Supporting the planning of events and supporting office social activities (including team bonding)

• Support the Finance team

• Arrange travel and accommodation for staff as required

• Assisting in ad hoc administration tasks as needed

Requirements/Skills:

• Previous office management experience required

• Previous HR experience desirable 

• Previous experience working for a charity and Trustees desirable but not required

• Excellent organisational skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities

• Project management skills

• Enthusiastic and personable

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work under own initiative with minimal supervision

• Excellent in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office and IT skills

Role Purpose

ShelterBox has changed a lot in the last five years, and the humanitarian sector is also evolving as we do, with a much stronger focus on partnerships with local organisations on the front lines of aid delivery. Yet we still send staff and volunteers on visits to programme sites, often taking calculated risks to oversee how we can learn and improve humanitarian operations. Our people are led by strong values of service and dedication, without which we could not serve communities after disaster. We are now seeking to put stronger systems in place to ensure we are getting the best from our staff and volunteers, and that we as an employer are giving them the best possible experience as members of this international organisation.

ShelterBox is searching for an experienced senior people leader with a proven ability to lead through ambiguity and transformation, with a track record of embedding high-performance cultures and navigating complex change in mission-driven environments. The successful candidate will provide leadership to our excellent people team and help to develop and deliver an engaging and effective new organisational people strategy, which must reflect the complexity of a globally distributed organisation, ensuring cultural intelligence, equity, and inclusion are embedded across all people practices. The Director of People and Culture will also work closely with our 13 affiliate offices to ensure alignment in our strategic direction on people management.

This isn't just about being a Director of People and Culture who has oversight of all aspects of the people function. This role is also about delivering visible and compassionate leadership as part of our Executive Team, consistently upholding and embodying our values of participation, learning, integrity and flexibility. The successful candidate will bring an assured presence with the ability to make decisions and influence at all levels, including Board and international affiliates. They will be a trusted advisor to the CEO and the Executive Team and be a visible, values-driven leader across the organisation.

You will be helping to build a new purpose-driven people strategy, embedding core values and our organisational mission. You will lead the team in driving our Employer Value Proposition: how we hire, train, develop and retain our people to meet the long-term aims and ambitions of the organisation. There will be a particular focus on training our future leaders and current managers in best practices, as well as establishing accountability for measuring performance and rewarding success.

You will oversee all aspects of the organisation's HR, learning and development, EDI, and well-being functions and a significant proportion of our volunteering support. You will be responsible for leading a function which works collaboratively with other teams to meet the organisation's overall people needs, and which recognises the critical importance of ShelterBox's staff and volunteers in delivering the organisation's ambitious plans.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this role also reports to the Board of Trustees on a quarterly basis on all People matters. This role is also the Executive Team Lead on the Board's People and Risk Committee.

The Director of People and Culture is also a member of ShelterBox's Executive Team. This is our most senior management team, with overall responsibility for leading, planning and managing the work and development of the organisation. As a team, they are responsible for the delivery of 2025 plans as well as the implementation and development of longer-term strategy, and for ensuring that the wider organisational strategy delivers for the people we support.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Together with the CEO, Executive Team and People Team, develop and embed a long-term people strategy to achieve ShelterBox's overall strategic aims. Providing a clear future focused approach to redefine our Employer Value Proposition - including Reward, talent management and Performance Management approach.
• Strategically lead the people function, driving operational effectiveness, and ensuring staff and volunteer voices are represented across all levels of the organisation, including at Executive level.
• Partner with the executive team on workforce planning, risk management, and using people data to make informed decisions
• Lead the organisation to create and sustain a culture that drives employee engagement and satisfaction.
• Manage and support staff members through the challenges and opportunities of a new strategic implementation cycle, helping to sustainably scale up ShelterBox internationally.
• Develop engaging people policies that align with and support our employer value proposition and cultural identity, with the aim of creating a truly positive, purposeful, accountable and collegial culture and work environment.
• Oversee recruitment and talent retention strategies to ensure the organisation always has the workforce it needs.
• Working with Legal/Finance/Safety & Security/Safeguarding teams to ensure adherence to risk register, current legislation, and Charity Commission requirements.
• Driving a culture of Continuous Professional Development across the organisation.
• Oversight of timely completion of all external audit recommendations relating to people.
• Executive Sponsor for EDI and Wellbeing Working Groups with responsibility for reporting to Exec/Trustee teams and providing visible support for EDI and wellbeing initiatives.
• Develop strong working relationships with the Executive Team and Trustees, providing advice and guidance as needed. Production of regular reports, for review at People, Audit, Risk, & Compliance, and wider board meetings.
• Play an active part in the H&S steering group. Assist in developing, implementing, and ensuring the application of policies.
• Provide leadership and direction on volunteering at ShelterBox, working with the Volunteer Development Manager to implement a volunteer strategy that meets the needs of the organisation.
• Manage annual HR/L&D budgets. Ensure strict adherence to these budgets throughout each financial year.
• As part of the Crisis Management Team, ensure the right people processes and procedures are in place to support the organisation and our teams in the event of a crisis.
