Job description

The Talent Set are delighted to partner with this incredible international development charity on a fantastic Interim Head of Media role.
We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our client's team as Interim Head of Media, supporting the development and implementation of media strategies. This is a 6 month fixed-term contract, for 4 days a week, with a minimum requirement of 1 day a week in their London office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement media strategies to achieve key objectives, aligning with the charity's overall communications plan
  • Lead and manage a team of 11, including 3 direct reports, to deliver high-quality media outputs
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the Chief Executive, to ensure media coverage and messaging are aligned with business objectives
  • Collaborate with the digital content experience team to ensure seamless integration of media and digital channels
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the media landscape, including trends, best practices, and competitor analysis
  • Provide strategic guidance on media partnerships, including working with influencers, media agencies, and other external partners
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of media contacts, including journalists, editors, and other key influencers
  • Conduct media analysis and provide insights to inform media strategies and optimize coverage

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience of leading and managing a media team, with a track record of delivering high-quality media outputs
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective media strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong media knowledge, including a deep understanding of the media landscape, trends, and best practices
  • Experience of working in international development and charity sectors, with an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in these areas
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and insights to inform media strategies

What’s on Offer:
This role is offering a £86,000 - £90,000, pro rata'd for this 6 month contract, 4 days per week. This is a hybrid role, with 1-2 days a week in their London office, starting ASAP.
