Role and responsibilities

Strategy, learning, and thought leadership: Responsible for defining and pursuing the strategic direction and priorities for Global Integrity in close consultation with staff and partners; enables adaptive approaches grounded in evidence, learning, and reflection; and leverages Global Integrity’s work to inform and influence thinking, policy, and practice in governance and anticorruption efforts.

Partnership development and fundraising: Responsible for the overall ethos of Global Integrity’s partnership approach and fundraising efforts; initiates and sustains continued engagement with government, civil society, and private sector partners and maintains relationships and active conversations with Global Integrity donors.

Management, operational oversight, and governance: Responsible for team leadership and organizational development throughout the organization while modeling core Global Integrity values like humility and openness; directly manages the work of 3-4 senior colleagues (GI’s Management Team); partners with the Managing Director for Finance and Operations on oversight of the financial management and operations functions; and works closely with the Board to enable effective support and oversight of the organization

Candidate profile

A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience, including at senior management levels, in the field of global development and public policy with a strong understanding of global governance and development agendas and a diverse, global network of relationships in the governance space including partners in the Global South, funders, and policy-makers.

A reputation as an effective communicator (English required; fluency in additional languages is a strong plus) with experience contributing to the evolution of policy and practice through presentations, publications, and participation in events, as well as, through active and timely engagement in conversations about key governance and development issues;

As ACCT UK’s Fundraising Manager, you will be setting up this new function and establishing its place within the Charity’s team. We are recruiting a Senior Fundraising Officer – Trusts and Foundations, who will play a key role in our small and successful fundraising team. A confident and capable fundraiser, you will bring vital capacity to this side of our income generation and work closely with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Fundraising Manager.
About the role
This Senior Fundraising Officer role is a new position, ideal for a creative and ambitious fundraiser who is seeking a role where there is an opportunity to develop and step up professionally.
If successful, you will join a small fundraising team where from the start, you will enjoy real responsibility. In this new role, you will work on a diverse range of funding proposals and have the autonomy to lead on the management of your own portfolio of funders. You will also work alongside senior staff, including our CEO and Senior Leadership Team, to develop larger, strategically significant proposals.
Although your main focus will be fundraising from Charitable Trusts and Foundations, you will have the chance to broaden your experience by working with the Fundraising Manager to develop and maintain the fundraising presence on our website and social media. You will also provide administrative support for the team, including keeping up-to-date records.

We are looking for a person to lead our charity who is an experienced fundraiser and is passionate to see all young people build confidence and make positive choices in their relationships, health and education.
This is an exciting time to join TwentyTwenty as our hugely successful Love4Life (L4L) programme continues to grow and flourish. You will be leading a small, dedicated team, committed to supporting young people both in schools and in the surrounding community.
Love4Life is all about empowering young people aged 11-18 years to build confidence and make positive choices in their health and relationships. We specialise in delivering targeted relationship and sex education (RSE) by supporting young people who are facing difficulties in these areas, including sexual health, staying safe and the potential risk of sexual exploitation. All of our work embeds building positive self-esteem, body image and the handling of emotions in order to help a young person become more resilient. We believe that once young people feel good about themselves, they are more likely to make healthy and positive choices for their lives.
Responsible for an initial budget of £320,000 and around a dozen staff this person will define and lead the organization’s strategy development and programme delivery to grow the impact of L4L in the lives of hundreds of young girls, and in the near future, boys. In particular they will develop and implement a 3-year business plan and fundraising strategy: fundraising is likely to occupy up to 50% of the role at times.
Principal Accountabilities:

Responsible for: Programme Manager, Fundraisers, Finance Director, Admin and Marketing Assistant
- To lead the strategic direction of TwentyTwenty, in conjunction with the Board, and to lead and shape the delivery of that strategy in order to meet the organisation’s vision for Love4Life and beyond.
- To build external relationships with major donors and networking across the region to advance the profile and work of the charity
- To develop and implement a 3-year business plan.
- To lead the development of the culture and values of the organisation and ensure a consistent application of these, both by direct example and by enabling the growth of systems, processes and leadership style that is consistent with this culture and these values.
- Overseeing all operations and activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission.
- To ensure the financial viability of the Charity and its compliance with all legal responsibilities, and to ensure that proper processes are adopted and followed in order to effectively manage resources and risk, especially with regard to safeguarding and health and safety.
- Develop, together with the in-house Fundraisers, a fundraising strategy to deliver the funds required to deliver then develop the programme, and to build up reserves.
- To personally raise income to agreed targets and play a significant role towards ensuring the organisation as a whole reaches its agreed targets.
- To ensure the organisation delivers excellence in its approach to safeguarding young people whose issues range from mental health to neglect and honour-based violence.
- To lead, motivate and develop the staff team, enabling them to effectively deliver the agreed strategy and ensuring a continuing supply of the skills and knowledge needed to secure a long-term future for the work of the charity.
- To maintain an understanding of the economic, social and political environment in which TwentyTwenty/L4L operates and to anticipate changes to this, to ensure the charity can respond appropriately and successfully.
- To act as advocate and ‘public face’ of TwentyTwenty, building strong external networks in order to strengthen the work and attract high-level partners and funders to the purpose and achievements of the organisation, in existing and new areas.

- To keep the Trustee Board fully informed and engaged in TwentyTwenty’s work by reporting on performance against agreed plans and targets, and by assisting the Board in the recruitment of new trustees and advisors.
Person Specification:
Essential
- Outstanding organisational and leadership skills

Other Information:
Hours: Full time 37.5 per week – requests for part-time working may be considered. Evening and weekend working may be required on occasions.
Salary: £41,000-£45,000, depending on experience. Salary is reviewed annually with any increase based on individual contribution and overall charity performance.
Annual Leave Entitlement: All employees of TwentyTwenty receive 25 days of annual leave (pro-rata), plus bank holidays. We are also closed between Christmas and New Year, giving 3 days of additional leave.
Contract: Permanent (Probationary period 6 months)
Based: The organisation’s office in Loughborough. Working across Leicestershire and Derbyshire and potentially other areas as the charity grows. Hybrid (home/office) working is possible.
