Job description

Open Doors is a Christian charity looking to meet the growing needs of the persecuted church worldwide. Violence and hostility towards Christians around the globe is on the increase. Open Doors works in over 60 countries to ensure that those facing such persecution are not forgotten but can stand strong in their faith and serve their communities.

We are seeking a church relations developer to build strong relations with churches and to manage and encourage the Ireland volunteer team. You’ll be warm, welcoming and professional in your approach and inspire people to partner with Open Doors in the work that we do by giving, taking action and praying. You’ll be able to build strong relationships with church leaders quickly, whether this be face to face, via Teams or by emailing. You’ll also be well organised to manage a caseload, confident to speak to churches around twice a month, and have good leadership skills to serve and support our volunteers.  You’ll be a strong team player and a positive influence for the Ireland team. You’ll also be flexible in adapting and contributing as new projects and initiatives take shape across Ireland.

As a Christian*, you will be using your professional skills, with a team of colleagues and volunteers who will inspire you. You will be in a positive working environment, given personal development opportunities and be part of something amazing that supports the persecuted church and makes a difference in this world.

Closing date: Friday 30 October 2020

Interviews: Tuesday 10 November 2020 and 17 November 2020

*There is an occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 for this post to be held by an active, practising Christian who assents to our statement of faith.
