South East London Mind has been delivering a young person’s counselling service to students at Southwark College for several years.

As a Young People’s Counsellor, you’ll provide an age-appropriate counselling service that allows the students to explore their mental health and wellbeing, along with the socioeconomic factors that impact this. You’ll manage a caseload of students, triaging new clients to the service, coordinating the waiting list and capturing data and outcome measures on a CRM database.

We are looking for someone with a professionally-recognised diploma or equivalent in Counselling or Psychotherapy who has experience of providing counselling to young people aged 14 upwards. As you’ll be working closely with pastoral staff on-site, an ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and show initiative is essential for this role.

The role will involve:

• Offering age-appropriate counselling sessions, including assessments and risk assessments 
• Working with teachers and pastoral staff to ensure that students are triaged and the relevant level of care and support is offered
• Record keeping: maintaining up-to-date records of work undertaken, including session notes, service records and Views CRM database records
• Contributing to quarterly monitoring reports, including reflections on key themes and issues experienced by students, case studies, and outcome measurement tools
• Liaising where appropriate with other SEL Mind staff, school/college staff or agencies including local statutory and voluntary sector professionals and organisations
• Attendance at regular supervisions with the Head of Services and meeting with other Young People’s Counsellors to keep abreast of key issues and needs across the service

We’re looking for a youth worker to lead our weekly educational youth club programme in Bournemouth. Delivered in partnership with International Care Network (ICN), sessions take place on a weekly basis between 4.30-7.30pm throughout the year including school holidays.

Main purpose of the role:

The youth worker will plan, deliver and facilitate educational and cultural activities to separated children (16-21 years old) in the context of an interactive youth club held weekly in partnership with the ICN in Bournemouth. Although you will prepare and deliver the materials, you will be supported by our youth support worker and ICN support worker during the actual Club Class session. Main duties:

• Research, plan and devise educational activities/classes for the weekly sessions based on our Club Class framework

Our day centre service is currently open three days per-week offering respite, food and somewhere safe to be for anyone facing street homelessness. It provides advocacy and casework services to those who are vulnerably housed or homeless, supporting them to address their individual crisis and the underlying causes. · Excellent IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and the ability to learn software packages such as client management databases.

· Attention to detail to ensure accurate recording of records and reporting to meet tight deadlines.

Desirable:

· Previous experience in advocacy, information and advice, or a similar role within health, social care, or the voluntary sector.

· Demonstrable experience working with vulnerable adults.

· Working knowledge of public and voluntary organisations.

We provide a full induction, training and equipment including a laptop and mobile phone.  It is a contractual requirement that all advocates hold or are working towards an advocacy qualification.  The most recognised qualification is the City and Guilds Level 4 Independent Advocacy Practice Qualification (IAP) for practising advocates, previously completed City and Guilds Level 3 National Advocacy Qualification (NAQ).  If you do not already hold an NAQ certificate or diploma or IAP qualification or equivalent, the expectation will be that you will gain the City and Guilds IAP qualification following successful completion of probation and pre-enrolment process. POhWER will fully sponsor this and provide a reasonable amount of study time and in return expect advocates to manage their time and complete within 12 months of registration.

Our day centre service is currently open three days per-week offering respite, food and somewhere safe to be for anyone facing street homelessness. It provides advocacy and casework services to those who are vulnerably housed or homeless, supporting them to address their individual crisis and the underlying causes. We also provide a small year round night shelter provision. 

APAP works in close partnership with a number of key agencies locally including drug and alcohol teams, street outreach services, local authority housing teams and the wider VCS. We are a gateway service in the community through which our clients can access a range of support. 

The Community Fundraising and Partnerships Coordinator will be responsible for developing and nurturing relationships within the local community to support APAP’s fundraising efforts, including schools, local businesses, faith and community groups. A key feature of this role will be developing increased year-round community engagement and fundraising, leading into the planning and delivery of at least one annual fundraising campaign. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage directly with stakeholders to build strong partnerships, whilst contributing strategically to the growth of the charity's fundraising efforts.
