Job Title: Senior Commercial Manager
Reporting To: Head of Food Partnerships
Salary Range: £45,000 - £48,000

Location: Remote with regular travel across the UK
Working days/hours per week: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.

The Felix Project and FareShare have recently merged to form the UK's largest food redistribution charity. Its vision is a UK where good food is never wasted, and nobody goes hungry.
The organisation rescues high quality edible surplus food, from across the food industry and gets it to over 8,000 organisations across the UK who are working to strengthen communities and improve lives.
The charity manages seven depots across London, Suffolk, Merseyside and Hampshire and works with 16 network partners who operate a further 26 regional depots across the UK.
Over the next year our ambition is to rescue enough food nationally to provide nearly 200 million meals, turning an environmental problem into social good with measurable impact for people, planet, and the economy.
Purpose of the Job
Assisting with the management of working with surplus, through a portfolio of over 200 food partners, managing daily challenges requiring leadership support and stewardship of a network of senior food industry contacts.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Build and support the creation of informed and data driven growth strategies across all food categories through industry and charity insights and reflective in agile ways of working
- Supporting the creation and delivery of the category strategies, executing joint business plans and internal and external progress reporting
- Responsible for the portfolio of tier 1 accounts which sit across both food and funding linking Felix Exec with these key accounts
- Contribute to the development of collaborative and cross-functional account plans, considering food, funding and other strategic initiatives to drive growth in food, money and other strategic resources, resulting in optimisation of food out to our network
- Work on behalf of the account to develop and embed services relevant to the account and agreed through the joint business plan – e.g. employability or store level redistribution.
- Provide project support by managing and communicating key projects and initiatives to increase food volumes and strategic value, securing support from a range of stakeholders within food partners and across the Felix network
- Support in the management of key funding & marketing campaigns & initiatives with other key internal teams.
- Keep robust & accurate records using Felix systems.
Essential
- Demonstrable experience managing multiple accounts in the FMCG, food, retail or comparable sector with professionalism and integrity consistently meeting or exceeding challenging targets
- Good working knowledge of the key players across the food industry and their ways of working
- Successful track record of managing cross-functional projects to tight timescales and budgets, ensuring involvement of all key stakeholders
- Experience of project evaluation, data-driven analysis and impact reporting
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at a range of levels and across multiple functions with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Relationship and stakeholder management experience of large corporate partners
- Knowledge of and interest in Sustainable Development, Corporate Social Responsibility and experience of its application within the business environment
- Advanced level of Microsoft Office packages
- Exceptional level of numeracy and literacy

The Commercial Partnerships team supports the RNLI by securing, building and managing corporate partnerships that generate sustainable income, raise awareness of the RNLI brand and its vital water-safety message, and to help us acquire new supporters to fund the RNLI’s lifesaving work.

Your role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Senior Partnerships New Business Manager, to join our friendly and ambitious team, to be the lead on new business activity in the team. This role will lead on securing new high-value, multi-faceted, long-term partnerships with companies to support the RNLI’s objectives. This role will build upon recent pipeline development and new business success in the team, through leading on the continuous development and implementation of the new business strategy and plans, further driving improvements and ensuring a sustained focus on pipeline development.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, approaching and securing new business at six figure level. You'll ensure we provide excellent management and stewardship of the new business pipeline, provide regular and accurate performance updates against objectives and KPIs, and accurately forecast short, mid and long-term income. You will help to drive creative thinking in the development of proposals to take out to prospective partners.
The location of this role is flexible and can be homebased, but ideally within a commutable distance of Poole, as the successful candidate will be required to travel to Poole and Partner locations on a regular basis (sometimes at short notice) to meet with internal and external stakeholders.

About you
To become our new Senior Partnerships New Business Manager, you will need:
- a proven track record in a fundraising or sales environment,
- demonstrable experience of developing innovative high-value corporate proposals/pitches, and closing deals
- significant experience of securing new business and managing the contracting process
This role requires someone with outstanding interpersonal and communications skills, who is comfortable delivering against targets, working collaboratively with a wide range of teams, presenting, building networks and working with senior stakeholders both internally and externally. Previous management experience that includes financial and performance reporting, multi-year income pipeline management and managing geographically diverse teams would be advantageous.

Pay range: £42,000 to £47,000 full time equivalent. £33,600 to £37,600 actual salary, dependant on experience.

JOB PURPOSE

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Partnership development

Identify, research, and secure new commercial and corporate partnership opportunities aligned with AdviceUK’s strategic and income generation priorities.
- Develop compelling partnership propositions, including sponsorships, strategic alliances, product/service developments, cause‑related marketing, corporate social responsibility, and other commercial collaborations.

Identify and develop new products and services that benefit members, grow income, and support member recruitment and retention.

Shape new products and services with user and sector insight, applying structured approaches to testing, evaluation and scaling. Ensure that pricing, return on investment and other financial modelling is completed to demonstrate how new products or services deliver agreed objectives.

Bring external market insight into AdviceUK’s strategic planning and decision making, ensuring that commercial partnership propositions are clearly differentiated in the markets they are targeting.

Work with the Head of Membership and Services, other colleagues at AdviceUK, and AdviceUK’s existing commercial partners to develop a commercial partnership strategy, business plan and pipeline.

2. Partnership management and growth

Act as the primary relationship manager for AdviceUK’s current commercial partners and subsidiaries to ensure they feel valued, informed, and engaged throughout the partnership lifecycle.

Maximise the value of established partnerships through renewals, extensions, upselling opportunities, and agreed new income generation activity. Support cross‑team collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Identify opportunities for innovation and growth within AdviceUK’s commercial partnerships portfolio.

Support the communication of impact to partners, including reporting on outcomes enabled by their support.

3. Income generation and performance

Ensure all partnerships deliver against agreed financial and non‑financial objectives. Contribute to departmental budgeting and forecasting.

Monitor partnership performance and provide accurate reporting on partnership income, engagement, and impact.

Contribute to the ongoing review of existing commercial partnerships and service level agreements, making recommendations for change as required.

4. Data and evidence

About the role
We are looking for a confident and proactive Strategic Partnerships Manager to help grow sustainable income and strengthen Henshaws Sight Loss Services across Greater Manchester.
This is a key role for someone who can spot opportunities, build influential relationships and turn conversations into contracts, partnerships and income. You will work across public sector commissioning, corporate partnerships, VCSE networks, community organisations and wider Greater Manchester systems to help position Henshaws as a trusted partner in sight loss support.
You will identify and pursue opportunities with NHS, Local Authority, ICS and ICB partners, public health, social care, SEND and sight loss pathways. You will also grow corporate income through proactive prospecting, sponsorship approaches, employer engagement and partnership development.

What you will be doing
You will:
- Identify and develop commissioning, contract and funding opportunities across Greater Manchester.
- Build relationships with NHS, Local Authority, public health, social care, VCSE, corporate and community partners.
- Lead activity across the commissioning cycle, including horizon scanning, relationship building, tender development, pricing input and mobilisation support.
- Work with Sight Loss operational teams to shape service models, delivery plans, outcome frameworks and costed proposals.
- Develop compelling corporate proposals and pitches that clearly show social value, impact and return on investment.
- Build and manage a structured pipeline of prospects, tracking activity from first contact through to secured income.
- Represent Henshaws at Greater Manchester meetings, locality groups, VCSE alliances, prevention networks and sight loss sector forums.

- Contribute to wider fundraising activity, including events, supporter stewardship and departmental initiatives.

About you
- We are looking for someone who is opportunity focused, resilient and confident building relationships with senior decision makers.
- You will have experience in business development, sales, income generation or strategic partnerships within a target driven environment. You will understand the sales cycle, from prospecting and first contact through to scoping, pitching, negotiation and relationship management.
- You will be confident preparing bids, tenders or commercial proposals, and able to translate service knowledge, financial information and policy priorities into strong, persuasive proposals.
- You will be highly organised, comfortable managing a structured pipeline, and able to balance competing priorities while maintaining momentum.
- Experience within a charity, VCSE, health or education setting would be valuable. We are seeking a fantastic corporate partnerships manager to join our Income Generation team. · quickly learn and be able to articulate well our campaigns and victim service and their evidence base, our funding need, and the actions that corporates can and should take to prioritise safe and green use of roads, through funding us and supporting our campaigns
· find and unlock access to senior leads within companies not already working with us (e.g., public affairs, communications and corporate social relationship teams) as well as taking up the reins of stewarding relationships with some of the companies already working with us
· listen and understand corporates’ priorities, understanding their budgets, potential to fundraise within their teams and networks, and their safety, sustainability, policy and pr priorities; and articulate what Brake does and our need for help
· forge, together, actionable joint plans that generate funds for Brake from a company, directly or through their supply chain / customers. You will achieve six figure funding targets, by generating five figure funds from new and existing partners
· Work alongside team members in public affairs, PR, and public engagement to understand our programmes of work in campaigns and seek the engagement of new and existing corporate supporters in those programmes, for example through participation and sponsorship
· Be responsible for developing your own pipeline of leads and accurately forecasting income you will fundraise from this pipeline and listing partnership activities that will be delivered
· Operate within Brake’s Ethical Partnership Policy and other policies, which enables us to sustain our charity values and work alongside corporations safely.
· Be a team player and able to step up to the plate and speak up for the charity, for example giving speeches or undertaking interviews on the charity’s behalf.

The Role
As Retail Assurance Manager, you will provide specialist support, guidance, and oversight across all areas of operational risk within retail and estates, ensuring our locations operate safely, compliantly, and to agreed organisational standards. As the estate continues to grow, this role will enhance the organisation’s confidence in retail governance through effective assurance processes, training, and continuous improvement.
The role will develop and maintain frameworks, policies, and tools to support retail managers in managing risk locally, covering areas such as Health and Safety, Fire Safety, financial controls and Gift Aid. By embedding accountability for risk management at every level, the Retail Assurance Manager will enable managers to own compliance within their areas, reinforcing a culture of safety, integrity, and strong performance.
Working with the Head of Retail and Head of Retail Property and Estates, the post holder will design and deliver an operational annual retail audit programme, assessing performance across operational, financial, and compliance areas. Findings will inform improvement plans, demonstrate governance to the wider organisation, and help reduce incidents of non-compliance, theft, and fraud.

About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:

To have proven experience in an assurance, audit, compliance, risk, Health & Safety, or retail operations role (ideally within multi-site retail or a customer-facing estate).

To have working knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice (e.g., Health & Safety, Fire Safety, food safety where applicable, GDPR/data protection, safeguarding awareness) and the ability to translate requirements into practical guidance.

About the team
The Income Generation Directorate at Shelter comprises of the five departments, delivering a mature fundraising programme that has seen continuous year on year diversity and growth. The directorate generates over £48m gross income each year, of which a high percentage is unrestricted.
