To ensure we can continue our important work, our Fundraising team are incredibly important. Since the pandemic, fundraising at Marie Curie has been through a lot of change. However, the organisation recognises the importance of our activity within communities across the UK and community fundraising has been invested in.
What you will be doing
- Be the primary contact for supporters, patients, and families and offer excellent service to supporters through various communication channels.
- Develop strong internal relationships to enhance fundraising efforts and support Marie Curie activities. Help identify and engage new supporters.
- Record, bank, and process supporter income in line with Marie Curie policies. Maintain accurate financial and supporter records.
- Provide stewardship for Fundraising My Way participants, local fundraising groups, volunteers, and third-party eventers.
- Manage collection site bookings and permits, contact volunteers, dispatch materials, and ensure proper follow-up and record-keeping for collections.
What you will need
- Good verbal and written communication skills demonstrating a sensitive approach
- Good IT skills including Word processing, email and spread sheets and a working knowledge of databases
- Excellent people and customer service skills.
- Able to engage with supporters and families in support of their fundraising activities.
- Driving licence and access to car is preferred but not essential

About the role
Due to growth and investment in the team, 3 exciting opportunities have arisen to join a lively, dynamic and driven fundraising events team. Over the last decade, Breast Cancer Now has built up a strong events function, with community fundraising and events currently accounting for nearly a quarter of the charity’s overall voluntary income.
We’re now looking for 3 events assistants to play a key role within the team. Supporting the delivery of our varied portfolio of challenge events, currently comprising of walking, running, cycling, swimming and trekking challenges. About you

The Philanthropy Assistant will play a pivotal role by supporting the smooth running of the team’s income processing and stewardship activities, while also managing administrative and practical processes required to keep a busy remote working fundraising team running smoothly.
You will support the Philanthropy team by leading on ensuring fundraising collateral (leaflets, cards, letterheads, magazines etc.) are kept well stocked and available. Newt Conservation Partnership (NCP) is a community-benefit society whose main purpose is creating and managing high-quality habitat for great crested newts, at the same time providing new habitats for many other wetland plants and animals. Our work is underpinned by a spatial strategy, and we work at the landscape scale. We have an extensive monitoring programme, and generate critical data for assessing the success of the NatureSpace schemes. We work closely with our partners, Amphibian and Reptile Conservation and Freshwater Habitats Trust and follow their evidence-based best practice guidance for the conservation of amphibians and ponds.
