This is an exciting opportunity to join our service supporting Unpaid Carers across Lewisham to improve their health and wellbeing, and access support that meets their needs.
The team works with unpaid Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers, completing statutory and holistic assessments to understand people’s individual circumstances and level of need. You will carry out home visits and community meetings, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Unpaid Carers, families, and professionals.
You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Unpaid Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. You will also support the development of escalation plans so that Unpaid Carers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances that would impact negatively on ability to care.
Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with Unpaid Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector. You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Unpaid Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services. Experience of working in mental health or dementia services would be an advantage.
You should be an excellent communicator and able to motivate and empower others. This is a full-time role.

Local Event Coordinator

Job Purpose:
To plan, coordinate, and deliver a range of local events across North West England, ensuring each event is well-organised, inclusive, and engaging for local communities. The Local Event Coordinator will collaborate closely with partners, local authorities, suppliers, volunteers, and members to deliver high-quality, unique and memorable experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage logistics for a variety of local member events, making sure all events are accessible and attractive to both existing and potential members.

About the Role
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, training, support and coordination of our team of volunteers, working closely with operational managers and the volunteer team to ensure that volunteer activity contributes to PHQ’s charitable objectives and is enjoyable and fulfilling for the volunteer team. There are currently over 100 volunteers whose work centres around Boathouse 4, our boat collection in the workshop and afloat on our pontoons, and care for Porters Garden, a calm space enjoyed by visitors and staff work in the dockyard.
This role involves operational planning, volunteer engagement, scheduling, and data management, with a strong focus on volunteer recognition, development, and communication.
We will consider applications for part-time employment for 30+ hours per week.
About You
You will be able to demonstrate prior experience of coordinating volunteer activity in the charitable sector, with good knowledge of safety and risk management procedures, and strong communication and organisational skills; underpinned by high level administrative and IT skills.
Please note, this role is not suited to remote working and therefore the post holder must be available to work at the dockyard during their contracted hours.

The DRC Fieldwork Coordinator role sits within RFUK’s largest Programmes team: Land & Livelihoods. A central aspect of the L&L team’s work is supporting communities to establish and manage community forests as well as working at the national and policy levels to achieve wider impact. This role will be pivotal to a new phase of community forest expansion in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which is being supported by the Rainforest Trust. In partnership with five local organisations, the role will contribute to the objective of expanding community forests in two highly biodiverse landscapes: the periphery of the Maïko National Park in North Kivu province and the area surrounding the Salonga National Park in Maï Ndombe province.
The ideal candidate will bring at least 3 years’ experience of project management support in a charity or international development context, as well as 3 years’ of experience in supporting community land use planning and livelihoods initiatives in rural contexts. - To support clubs with the recruitment of all paid and volunteer coaches, and ensuring they adhere to the Coaches Code of Conduct and other supporting documents.
- Pro-actively encourage student sports leaders to record and reflect on their skill development.
- Manage and provide mentorship for the Sports Administrator and any other student staff roles working within Sport at the Union.
