We are looking for an enthusiastic challenge events officer for a high-profile national charity . You will be supporting the challenge event team over a busy period , engaging, and stewarding challenge event participants for London landmarks, Half, London Marathon and London 2 Brighton cycle.
Hybrid working , you wll be 50% office based of your working hours which equates to 2 days one week and three days the week after.
The Role
Create and implement communications plans that include training and fundraising tips, Race Day details and info about the charitys work.
Source stewardship content that is informative, inspiring and maximises fundraising potential, achieving and ideally exceeding fundraising targets.
Build strong relationships with participants so that they all receive an excellent experience and are keen to support the charity again
Test different communication formats, including automated and personalised emails, phone calls and social media forums.
Work with fundraising colleagues and the Data team to ensure GDPR compliance.
Fundraisers are thanked in a timely fashion
Raisers Edge records are updated regularly and consistently
Resources are sent out to supporters as required, and stock reviewed regularly.

Role Summary:
The National Programmes Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and developing a team of regionally dispersed Programme Facilitators to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of The Girls’ Network programmes across all localities. The post-holder drives programme performance and quality through effective people leadership, robust performance management, and the use of SMART objectives to ensure KPIs are met and organisational outcomes are achieved.
A core element of the role involves embedding best practice across all aspects of programme delivery and maintaining a strong, consistent approach to safeguarding through our work with children and young people. The Healthier Me Coach is key to the delivery of our exciting new Omaze funded activity. This is a part-time, fixed-term position of 22.5 hours per week, ending in December 2027. The working days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.
In our new programme called "Healthier Me" we want to:
- Improve health outcomes for people with a learning disability.
- Empower people we support and our staff teams to have better tools when it comes to health and wellbeing
- Make community health offerings more accessible for people with a learning disability.
You will be working within a team of Healthier Me Coaches across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Healthier Me Coach will work both independently and collaboratively.
In the Healthier Me Coach role, you will support people with a learning disability to improve their understanding of, and access to, health and wellbeing.
A key part of this work will be to support around 100 people with a learning disability to set and achieve personal health goals over 2 years. You will do this through1:1 coaching, delivering workshops and signposting, amongst other things. The post holder will be responsible for supporting individual progression and connecting the people Mencap supports with each other and appropriate opportunities in the community.
In addition to this you will be managing at least one ‘Healthier Me Champion’ . The Champion role is for people with a learning disability, and it will strengthen the delivery of this work.
This role involves working with a range of stakeholders to promote healthy living and to improve understanding of the barriers to health faced by people with a learning disability.

Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) exists so nobody in Scotland suffers or dies because medical help cannot get there in time. People can get sick or have accidents anywhere and anytime. The Role
As part of our strategy for growth and national impact, SCAA is seeking a motivated individual to manage our newly formed Data function, as Data and Insights Manager. This is a hands-on managerial role, which will contribute to both the immediate data management requirements and lead on the development of the longer-term Data and Insights Strategy for SCAA.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in embedding a culture of data-driven decision making, using insights and analysis to support future growth, with a particular focus on fundraising, marketing and supporter engagement. They will ensure the right frameworks and infrastructure are in place to allow for effective data management and data-driven decision-making across the charity.
This role can be fully remote, with the option to work from Perth Airport, where SCAA headquarters are located or our Aberdeen base at Aberdeen Airport, if preferred. Occasional travel to our Perth base will be required for the successful candidate. Essential
- Significant experience leading data strategy, governance or CRM development in a fundraising, marketing or customer insight environment.

The Programme Manager will supervise the programme's daily operations, manage partner input into key workstreams (capital design, education, citizen science, inclusion), and ensure that timelines, budgets, and deliverables meet The Heritage Fund expectations. The role involves direct responsibility for preparing the Delivery Phase funding application and ensuring that the Development Phase creates a strong legacy platform for long term impact. This includes coordinating evaluation planning, risk registers, governance frameworks, and a sustainable funding strategy. The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to facilitate collaboration among multiple partners across diverse catchments and disciplines.
TCCEP is a collaborative, catchment-scale initiative that supports the recovery of the critically endangered European eel by removing migration barriers, restoring river habitats, and reconnecting communities with their local water environments. Thames Rivers Trust (TRT) is a catchment-based environmental charity focused on enhancing river health and resilience throughout the Thames Basin. As a convening organisation, TRT collaborates with local delivery partners, statutory agencies, and funders to implement nature based solutions, support environmental data infrastructure, and improve community access to blue spaces. TRT coordinates the Thames Catchment Community Eels Project (TCCEP), building on a tradition of multi-partner catchment initiatives to achieve significant environmental and social benefits. The Thames Catchment Community Eels Project (TCCEP) is a £3 million flagship programme delivered by Thames Rivers Trust in partnership with seven NGOs and catchment groups. The Development Phase, supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, runs from January 2026 to April 2027 and lays the groundwork for a three-year Delivery Phase (2028–2030) across six sub-catchments. This builds on the successful Phase 1 pilot funded through The Green Recovery Challenge Fund (2020–2022).
Project Summary: The Thames Catchment Community Eels Project (TCCEP) is a collaborative, catchment-scale initiative that supports the recovery of the critically endangered European eel by removing migration barriers, restoring river habitats, and reconnecting communities with their local water environments. The project builds on the success of a pilot phase funded through the Green Recovery Challenge Fund (2020–2022), which trained over 200 volunteers, surveyed more than 450 barriers, and helped catalyse collaborative action across the Thames Basin. During this Development Phase (2026), partners will work together to finalise the programme design for a three-year Delivery Phase (2027–2030). This includes site-level feasibility studies, co-designed community engagement, capital project planning, evaluation framework development, and a final funding application for the Delivery Phase. Alongside habitat restoration, the programme also emphasises education, equity, climate resilience, and long-term legacy, using the iconic eel as a flagship species to inspire action and foster connection.
Key Responsibilities • Programme Management and Delivery • Lead day-to-day coordination of all Development Phase activities across partner organisations. Our trained assessors carry out a comprehensive risk assessment to identify potential causes of falls and hazards in the home and can arrange for stair rails, grab handles and other necessary aids and adaptations to be supplied and/or fitted, free of charge. The project can provide ongoing telephone support for up to six weeks to monitor the risk of further falls post engagement.

What is a Fixing Factory?
Fixing Factories do what they say on the tin! We help people fix their broken electricals and learn new fixing skills, shifting us from our current take-make-waste linear system towards a repair economy fit for the future. They generate public interest in repair. Through a series of stepping stone activities, we take people from never having looked inside an electrical item towards, if they wish, fixing for others.
The Fixing Factories is a partnership between The Restart Project and Possible, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund. It launched in April 2022 and we currently have three operational sites across London in Camden, Haringey and Hackney.
Each new Fixing Factory site grows and nurtures a community of repairers, is strongly linked with local residents and stakeholders, and is driven by engaged teams of volunteers. There is a range of offers; from free community repair events to paid workshops and retail - as we develop a replicable model which will support our long term goal of ‘a Fixing Factory on every high street’.

You’ll deliver a programme of activities to teach people the basics of repair and change their mindset around electronic waste. The two new sites will be trialling a scaled-back Fixing Factory model compared to our other three sites, so you’ll be a key part of developing and iterating a new way of delivering a Fixing Factory.
The two new sites will be in shared spaces with other community organisations. A key part of this role will be to build and maintain positive relationships with others managing and using the spaces.
You will split your time between the two new Fixing Factory locations, working remotely with a passionate Fixing Factory team, including workshop managers for other sites, and a central development and project management team. You’ll also work closely with Possible, our partner on the Fixing Factories project.

Key responsibilities
Activity and delivery
- Take responsibility for overseeing on-site repairs at the two Fixing Factory locations, ensuring they are completed safely, effectively, and to a consistent standard.
- Deliver a regular programme of activities at the two sites, including community drop-in repair sessions, workshops for the general public, and sessions for volunteers to repair damaged electronic goods.
- Work with the Fixing Factory Lead to make changes in response to feedback and project needs.

Relationship management
- Build and maintain positive relationships with local stakeholders, including the managers and users of both shared sites, members of the public, local repair businesses, local authorities, volunteers, and community fixing initiatives, with support from the Fixing Factory Lead.

Monitoring and evaluation
- Collect and train volunteers to collect monitoring and evaluation data related to the Fixing Factories with support from the Fixing Factory Lead.
Income generation
- Work with the Fixing Factory Lead to track and grow onsite income-generating activities to ensure that the shop meets its objectives for financial sustainability. This includes overseeing:
- Paid workshops and training sessions, including generating bookings from the public
- Potential for small-scale sales of refurbished items
- Encouraging donations during the delivery of core activities
Finance management
- Follow agreed Fixing Factory finance processes, including correct and timely categorisation of regular project income and expenditure (training will be provided) with support from Fixing Factory Lead.
- Manage your Fixing Factory locations' day-to-day site finances: petty cash, buying materials, workshop consumables, and reimbursing volunteers' expenses.
Communications
- Respond to enquiries about your Fixing Factory sites via email with support from the Fixing Factory Lead.
- Update the Fixing Factory website, Eventbrite, and Ticket Tailor booking systems for events with support from the Fixing Factory Lead and Possible comms team (training will be provided if needed).
- Publicise workshop activities and off-site events locally with support from the Fixing Factory Lead.
- Respond to press and comms requests when needed (for example, providing quotes or facilitating visits from journalists). This does not necessitate acting as a ‘live’ press spokesperson unless you are comfortable with this.
- Where requested, facilitate comms team interactions with your Fixing Factory volunteers, including requests for interviews and comms training requirements, with support from the Fixing Factory Lead when needed.
Organisational and partner involvement
- Attend monthly workshop manager meetings, weekly team meetings, monthly 1:1s, local partners group meetings, and any other meetings requested that contribute to the effective running of Fixing Factories.

Essential Criteria
- You are able to repair electrical items independently, confidently, safely, and quickly, or you demonstrate an understanding of electrical knowledge with the ability to learn how to repair electrical items quickly - this will include changing plugs and repairing items such as toasters, kettles, and power leads
- You have a strong commitment to safety and wellbeing - we have some golden rules to keep everyone healthy and safe - especially around electricity - you will be the guardian of these and be able to recognise and call out when you spot unsafe working practices
- Passion for teaching others how to repair - you have experience teaching others to repair, or you are keen to learn
- Proven excellent time and task management - you’re highly organised, enjoy implementing processes and systems to maximise efficiency, and are target-driven
- Proven to be focused and meticulous when recording information - you’re a stickler for detail and understand the importance of keeping accurate records up to date on a timely basis for successful project delivery

We’re looking for two Evaluation Managers to commission and oversee robust, cost-effective evaluations of promising projects, manage a portfolio of studies, and contribute to the development of methodological best practice at the heart of the EEF’s work.
As an Evaluation Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in commissioning and managing high-quality, cost-effective evaluations of EEF -funded projects. You’ll oversee a portfolio of studies from design to delivery, working closely with external evaluators and programme teams to ensure rigorous, practical evaluations and clear communication of findings. This is a chance to shape influential research, strengthen the evidence base on what works in education, and contribute to the EEF’s wider strategic work.
You’ll join one of two closely connected teams at the heart of the EEF’s evidence-generation work, offering distinct but complementary opportunities.
One role sits in the Evaluation Team, a large, expert team responsible for commissioning and managing EEF’s major independent evaluations, including large-scale randomised controlled trials and quasi-experimental evaluations, and for supporting external research teams to deliver rigorous, high-quality studies across the portfolio.This will suit someone with a quantitative leaning with a strong understanding of trials and experimental design.

This team leads pilots, early-stage and scale-up evaluations, with a stronger focus on implementation and process evaluation, and on developing and testing innovative evaluation approaches to support effective scale-up.This will suit someone with a mixed methods background and a more qualitative skillset.
Both roles work closely together and across the organisation to ensure EEF’s evidence is rigorous, relevant, and has real impact in the system.
In these roles you will:
- Commission evaluations in our priority areas, including critically reviewing evaluation proposals to ensure proposed designs are high quality and cost-effective and that the most suitable external evaluators are matched with projects.
- Manage a portfolio of evaluation projects once external evaluators are appointed and being the primary point of contact for evaluators.
- Liaise between the evaluator and the delivery team (that is delivering the intervention) and chairing meetings to ensure the evaluation project is set up effectively with a high-quality design (working closely with colleagues in EEF’s Programmes team).
- Work closely with the evaluator and delivery team to understand the practical issues involved in delivering evaluations, mitigating risks, and providing support when problems arise.
- Manage evaluation contracts and budgets, and monitoring delivery of evaluation plans.
- Conduct technical reviews of protocols, study plans, statistical analysis plans and evaluation reports.
- Work closely with other teams to ensure that published reports are of high quality and effectively communicate findings to an audience of practitioners, academics, policymakers and the general public.
- Draw on expertise from across EEF to shape and apply innovative evaluation approaches, working collaboratively to strengthen evaluation design, learning and the use of evidence.
- Develop, improve and monitor implementation of evaluation guidance and resources to clarify best practice and build the capacity of evaluators to conduct high quality research.
Candidate:
You'll be able to demonstrate:
- A commitment to the aims of the EEF and a genuine interest in the education sector in England.
- An understanding of technical aspects of evaluation methodologies (implementation and process evaluations, randomised controlled trials, quasi-experimental designs, choice of outcome measurement, etc.) and an ability to identify high quality evaluation plans and reports.
- Experience in delivering or commissioning rigorous evaluation projects in education, health, or another related field
- Strong relationship management skills, including managing stakeholder performance and differences in opinion.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences including practitioners, academics, and policymakers.
- An organised and methodical approach, with excellent project management skills and the ability to prioritise own workload and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- The ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and a commitment to fact checking own work, as well as the ability to work closely and collaboratively across teams.
- A proactive, flexible, and pragmatic approach to evaluation, with an ability to balance a commitment to rigour with accessibility and impact.
- A degree with substantial research methodological training, or equivalent research experience.
- Strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring these principles are upheld in all aspects of their work.
In addition, there are a few desirable skills for this role which could help you to stand out. Great if you already have them, but we don’t expect any candidate to have them all, and will provide training as required for the right candidate:
- Experience in delivering or commissioning quasi-experimental evaluations (for the role in the Evaluation team).
- Experience in delivering or commissioning qualitative, mixed-methods and theory-based research and implementation and process evaluations (for the role in the Programme Development and Scale Up team).
- Experience or familiarity with working on programmes as they develop and scale, and an understanding of how evaluation and evidence can inform decisions about programme design, adaptation and readiness for scale-up (for the role in the Programme Development and Scale Up Team).
- A PhD or Masters with training in quantitative methods and/or mixed methods.
- Experience conducting relevant statistical analysis and/or qualitative analysis.
