What the role involves

1. Ensuring that there are regular training opportunities for both new starters and those requiring refresher sessions or updates when new functions or forms are released. This will include running system training drop in sessions to assist with queries / hear feedback, and relaying information from these to the Information Governance and IT manager.

2. To support managing the case recording system help desk – so that support is always ava

ilable to front line workers and other stakeholders.

3. Working with the Learning and Development Coordinator to establish an evaluation method and implement this to enable us to assess the effectiveness of each training session and using this to improve future delivery.

4. Produce effective training materials and guidance documents, and develop and maintain a training area on our case recording system, including the creation of dummy forms and files for new users to access and use as a training sandbox

5. Performing case recording system changes to forms and lists as directed by the Information Governance and IT Lead

6. Support the Data Reporting and System Support Lead with regards to user administration and user support at times of absence and increased need

7. Working with the Learning and Development Coordinator to support the creation of e-learning training modules for our LMS (currently RISE) Acting at all times in line with safeguarding legislation and guidance in addition to Safer London’s practice guidelines and wider pan-London processes and protocols.

8. Undertaking any other duties as required and commensurate with the level of this post, including covering the Data Reporting and CRS support lead post functions when relevant.

Summary

WE ARE LOOKING FOR ASSISTANT CASE OFFICER TO WORK WITHIN OUR MISSION AND PASTORAL SERVICES TEAM

The Church Commissioners have the governance and management responsibility for the Mission and Pastoral Measure 2011, which provides a regulatory framework which enables the Church to support the provision of local worship, mission and ministry, and to adapt that provision as circumstances change over time. The Measures provides a decision-making process for changes relating to pastoral change, ministry provision change and church building change. The Commissioners also deal with processes under the Church Property Measure 2018 and the Church Commissioners' Chancel Repair Liability Measure.

The purpose of the role is to oversee and manage the decision making processes and provide advice under the Mission and Pastoral Measure 2011 (MPM), the Church Property Measure 2018 (CPM), and related legislation (including the Patronage (Benefices) Measure 1986 and the Church Representation Rules, and responsibilities relating to chancel repair liability (CRL). A major part of the team's role is to support the transition from the existing MPM, to a new Measure, and the related transition programme which will be rolled out to dioceses and parishes over between 2024 to 2027.

The Assistant CO post will work with mainly with the M&PS case officers to decision making and case work under the requirements of the legislation set out above. They will also work closely with the team managers to plan and manage the casework load and support the decision making processes of the Mission, Pastoral and Church Property Committee.

Main Responsibilities

• Conduct research into a range of technical and legal matters, including verifying the legal names of parishes and benefices, patronage details, and responding to related queries.

• Draft and publish Mission and Pastoral Measure (MPM) schemes for consultation, ensuring accuracy and clarity throughout the process.

• Support Case Officers in presenting MPM or Church Property Measure (CPM) decisions to the Mission, Pastoral and Church Property Committee, and assist with any subsequent appeals.

• Assist the M&PS Operations Manager in planning committee visits, public hearings, and other operational tasks associated with committee meetings.

• Contribute to the planning and monitoring of casework and performance reporting, working closely with the M&PS Operations Manager.

• Coordinate and manage internal and external meeting processes related to the above functions, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

• Provide administrative support for the implementation of the new Mission and Pastoral Measure and the Measure concerning Chancel Repair Liability.

• Offer support in record management and data governance, including preparing briefings and information for performance and risk management purposes using dedicated data systems.

• Help the M&PS Operations Manager with planning and coordinating team activities such as monthly meetings, away days, and special events.

• Assist with communications activities, including the distribution of regular e-newsletters to diocesan teams.

• Support the coordination and promotion of the diocesan training programme.

• Assist with financial processes related to departmental expenditure, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

• Contribute to audit and risk management processes, maintaining high standards of accountability.

• Provide briefings and information to support internal NCI processes, including responses to General Synod or Parliamentary questions, and preparing materials for the Board of Governors and senior officers.

• Deliver general administrative support to the M&PS team, including handling post and printing tasks.

• Undertake any required specialist or generalist training to support the role effectively.

• A salary of £40,572, plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.

Background Information and Purpose of Post

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Data entry

· Input donations, pledges and other donor data into the fundraising database (Advantage Fundraiser) and assess the accuracy and validity of the data.

· Input and set up regular donations accurately.

· Reconcile finances at the end of each month with the support of the Fundraising Manager

· Manage and maintain up to date records for Gift Aid.

· General database housekeeping tasks.

· Compile and present accurate queries and reports as needed by the team.

Donor care and communications

· Be the first point of contact for all existing and prospective donors and represent HI UK in an efficient, effective and professional way.

· Provide individual donor care, including answering queries and dealing with complaints.

· Draft, produce and send written correspondence such as emails, thank you letters and other relevant documents for donors.

· Review and update call-handling procedures for use by all staff members.

As the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)  Officer focuses on strengthening and supporting the various projects, including the collection of programme wide statistics to detail the reach and results of Muslim Aid UK  (MAUK) programmes. We are seeking a new Finance and Administration Officer following the retirement of a long-serving team member. A key member of the SLA central office team, the Finance and Administration Officer plays a vital role in ensuring smooth financial operations and providing essential administrative support for our membership. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, book-keeping and effective day-to-day financial operations, producing financial reports using our CRM (IMIS) and XERO, in addition to administration support.

You will be experienced in financial and administration operations of a charity or similar , with an AAT qualification or matching worked experience. Familiarity with XERO will be an advantage. You will be able to bring understanding of cashflow and financial analysis of figure, working with accountants as required.

You will also have excellent customer service skills and be able to work effectively with all stakeholders from our members, to funders to suppliers. You will be determined and have an excellent eye for financial and administrative detail. Your duties will include general administration and:

Financial operations and record-keeping

• Manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate records of all SLA accounts and petty cash; book-keeping
• Process and record all incoming payments, including foreign cheques (into bank account)
• Monitor cashflow and expenditure, keeping track of spending
• Pay invoices upon approval and ensure timely monthly payments (e.g. pensions, HMRC)

· In conjunction with the board, lead the creation of a new strategy for the charity and develop and implement appropriate business and financial plans, with clear objectives and outcomes and to operationalise the strategy, ensuring all activities are aligned to achieve the strategy. 

· Develop and implement a new income generation strategy, including building relationships with funders, and strengthening and growing our individual giving programme to put the charity on the path to becoming financially self-sustaining.

· Work with the Campaigns Manager to continue the delivery of high quality campaigns to make London a better city for older people and position Age UK London; and ensure campaigns are grounded in evidence and the views and experiences of older Londoners.  

• Ensure that the Charity maintains relationships with all appropriate external stakeholders so that our campaigns are successful and the voices of older Londoners are heard in decision making, and to oversee the delivery of our external communications plan.
• Have overall responsibility for the lawful and efficient operation of the Charity including overseeing our outsourced finance function, governance; regulatory reporting; legal and regulatory compliance; HR, premises, insurances, IT and all other operational matters. 
• Maintain our relationships with local London Age UKs via our existing networks and regional structures.
• Ensure appropriate reporting to the board with necessary analysis, (risk/benefits/resources) clearly presented to allow the board to discharge its governance function.
• Line management of the Campaigns Manager and Marketing & Communications Officer.

Experience

Essential 

• Experience managing the operational  and financial aspects of a small charity.
• Proven ability to build relationships with funders and secure grant income linked to campaigning activity.

• Some experience of working directly with trustees is needed but this does not have to be as a CEO.

The role

The trusts fundraising officer will report to the trusts dunfraising manager.

We are seeking an enthusiastic trusts fundraising officer to join our team to help deliver our ambitious plans for growth. This new role involves managing a warm portfolio of trusts and foundations and finding new prospective donors, submitting compelling applications and providing exceptional supporter experience.

You will be proactive and passionate about building strong relationships with charitable funders and have previous experience of securing gifts from trusts and foundations or institutional donors. Our dynamic fundraising department generated £4.5m through donations in 2023/24, and we are now preparing for an ambitious multi-million-pound campaign in support of a ground-breaking cancer centre on the site of the Royal Free Hospital.

SANE is a UK-wide mental health charity working to improve the quality of life of anyone affected by mental illness. It aims to raise awareness and understanding of all mental health conditions; fight to improve frontline mental health services for individuals and carers; provide support, information and guidance through SANEline, our Call Back service, email and text support; and promote and host research into causes, treatments and therapies through its Prince of Wales International Centre for SANE research.

Job Title: Cathedral Safeguarding Officer

Reports to: Canon Precentor

Key Relationships: As part of their role, the CSO will work closely with the Cathedral Safeguarding Lead (Canon Precentor), the Diocesan Safeguarding Team including the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisory Panel (DSAP) and the Diocesan Safeguarding Executive Committee (SEC); volunteer cathedral safeguarding representatives (CRs); all other relevant stakeholders including Director of Music, Chapter, Residentiary Canons, staff, the Senior Leadership Team and Cathedral Safeguarding Committee. In addition, the post-holder will work with all relevant external agencies, e.g., CofE National Safeguarding Team (NST), Police and Probation services, local authorities, Domestic Abuse Services.

Salary: £30,000 (£50,000 pro-rata)

Role Overview

The role of the Cathedral Safeguarding Officer is to maintain and build on the strong culture of safeguarding at Southwark Cathedral and carry out an effective safeguarding role as a key visible member of the Cathedral team. The role holder will promote awareness and understanding throughout the Cathedral community (staff, volunteers and worshippers) of the needs of children and vulnerable adults and actively promote the philosophy that their interests are paramount.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the development and implementation of Cathedral safeguarding arrangements, good practice, policy and training. The Cathedral Safeguarding Officer will make sure that safeguarding risks are appropriately managed and ensure that the Cathedral is applying any emerging national policies, procedures and best practice so that our ways of working continue to remain current.

NB: The successful applicant will play a leading role in the preparation for the upcoming INEQE safeguarding audit of Southwark Cathedral and Southwark Diocese scheduled June 2026. They will be supported in this aim by the appointed INEQE action group.

The role carries responsibility for safeguarding casework, including ensuring that allegations of abuse are promptly and appropriately handled, and where appropriate referred to the statutory authorities. Further, the role holder will effectively communicate and engage with survivors and victims of abuse.

The Cathedral Safeguarding Officer will advise the Cathedral on all safeguarding matters ensuring that all advice is in line with the law, government guidance and national policy and guidance from the House of Bishops. They will be supported in their role by three experienced volunteer cathedral safeguarding representatives who offer knowledge and experience of the cathedral. They will work collaboratively with peers in the Diocese and the National Safeguarding Team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Key Duties

1. To lead the Cathedral’s work on the following National Standards:

· Organisational culture, leadership and capacity - Church bodies have safe and healthy cultures, effective leadership, resourcing and scrutiny arrangements necessary to deliver high-quality safeguarding practices and outcomes.

· Prevention - Church bodies have in place a planned range of measures which together are effective in preventing abuse in their context.

· Responding to and managing risk - Risk assessments, safety plans and associated processes are of a high quality and result in positive outcomes. The assessment and management of risk is underpinned by effective partnership working.

· Victims and survivors - Victims and survivors experience the timeliness and quality of Church bodies' responses to disclosures, and their subsequent support, as positively meeting their needs, including their search for justice and helping their healing process.

· Learning, supervision and support – All those engaged in safeguarding-related activity in Church bodies receive the type and level of learning, professional development, support and supervision necessary to respond to safeguarding situations, victims and survivors, and respondents, effectively.

2. To provide in person safeguarding training for Cathedral volunteers & staff.

3. To work closely with the Director of Music and the Sub-Dean to ensure that the children and young people in the cathedral choirs and Sunday school are effectively safeguarded

4. To be responsible for recording, investigating and managing all Safeguarding concerns;

5. To assist the CSL with production of monthly and annual safeguarding reports and to attend Chapter (as required) and Committee Meetings (as directed).

6. To assist in the production of risk assessments, policies and procedures where there are safeguarding aspects to them.

7. To provide advice in relation to obtaining criminal record checks (DBSs) for staff and volunteers.

8. To work collaboratively with the National Safeguarding Team (NST) and other Church of England Safeguarding Officers and attend national safeguarding events and activities as required.

9. To engage in professional supervision and quality assurance provided by the relevant NST Regional Safeguarding Lead.

Together for Short Lives is a charity that ensures seriously ill children and their families receive the care they need, especially at the end of life. We work closely with families, care professionals, and services to improve children’s palliative care. We also speak up to government leaders and decision-makers to help make sure families have access to the best support when they need it.

A fantastic opportunity is available for a Family Support Hub Officer to join us as maternity cover for 9 months. You will work within our Family Support Hub, liaising with identified partners to provide support to families with a seriously ill child, as well as providing grants administration and event organisation support. 

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to help Together for Short Lives reach and support more families - responding appropriately to their needs by listening, signposting or referring onto internal and external support e.g.. grants, peer support, events and engagement opportunities. You will support families contacting Together for Short Lives through the Helpline, website and from partner referrals.

This role combines responsibility for grant administration and voucher processing with day-to-day family support hub tasks, including managing email inboxes and co-ordinating communications. The postholder will ensure that families receive timely information, compassionate support, and access to financial assistance, while helping the organisation meet funding obligations and maintain high-quality service delivery.
