We are excited to be recruiting a School Partnerships Officer to join the School Partnerships Team. You’ll work to deliver the goals set out in Join the Club, our ambitious strategy for 2021-2026, specifically building partnerships with schools to deliver our  school facing interventions.

Your job will be to raise awareness of our programmes and transform expressions of interest into school partnerships. You will be responsible for a geographical area, creating a sales and partnerships plan and proactively reaching out to schools to generate opportunities and convert them into sales and signups. You will use your relationship building, influencing and selling skills to engage schools, trusts and networks to fulfil our charity mission in your area. If you are passionate about communicating with different audiences, quickly building relationships, and meeting ambitious targets that have a huge social impact, this could be the perfect role for you. This role will require you to become an expert on our programmes so that you can confidently discuss their features and benefits with key stakeholders. This isn’t about administering a process; it’s about understanding the needs of the schools and pupils in your area and how our programmes can support their priorities. You will be tenacious and empathetic in equal measure. You will also work to improve the efficiency of our internal systems, so teachers have the best experience communicating with us.

The role will report to the Director of School Sales and Partnerships. It can be based at any of our four Brilliant Club offices, located in London, Birmingham, Leeds and Cardiff.

​Main purpose of the post 

We are seeking to appoint a Business Development Coordinator to join a wider team that spearheads RUSI’s research fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Director, Research Business Development, the successful candidate will enhance the institute’s business development activities by providing administrative and coordination support for business development, contracts, and risk management. Working closely with research groups, central services teams, and the senior management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that RUSI is well-placed to spot and respond to new funding opportunities and that our contracts are high-quality and executed efficiently. 

This is a highly collaborative role that involves building very strong internal relationships at all levels of the organisation and managing competing priorities and deadlines. We are seeking a team player with a pragmatic and positive attitude and excellent attention to detail, who will enjoy taking on new challenges, using your initiative to solve problems, and seeing your work directly contribute to meeting our short- and long-term goals.

​Key tasks 

Tracking, identifying, and sharing new funding opportunities:  

• Conduct research to identify potential funders and grant opportunities, populate and maintain a prospects tracker. Ensure we have an accurate and current map of relevant funders at all times to draw from.

• Manage the Business Development email inbox, ensuring we are registered to all relevant portals and that we are regularly checking funder portals that do not send notifications. Share summaries of relevant opportunities with the BD Director along with suggested dissemination plan, agree next steps and follow up with appropriate Research Groups.

• Support research colleagues to identify funders to invite to RUSI events and draft outreach emails.

Providing administrative and coordination support on bids, contracts, and new business activities: 

• Assist the Bids Manager with compiling information about RUSI as an organisation, its registrations, policies, organisational structure, banking and insurance details, financial information, and other generic details to be included in bid submissions and for due diligence. 

• Support the Bids Manager/Director of Research Business Development with administration and coordination of specific components on large bids.

Maintaining and improving business development processes and systems: 

• Ensure the business development team trackers (action log, new funding opportunities etc.) are accurate and up to date. 

• Work closely with RUSI’s Legal and Contracts and Finance teams to finalise funder contracts and ensure that final copies are saved centrally, and key information is distributed to relevant teams. Ensure that relevant and accurate funder information is tracked by the finance system for ongoing analysis. 

• Review drafts of subcontractor agreements and work closely with RUSI’s Legal and Contracts team to manage the process for preparing, securing approval, finalising, and sharing sub-contracts. 

• Act as central point of contact for the research funding pipeline, ensure it is functioning as needed and respond to ad hoc questions.

• Manage the team’s Sharepoint page, ensuring that it is useful and relevant for research colleagues, with high-quality templates and guidance.

• In coordination with colleagues on the Communications team, update RUSI’s customer relationship management (CRM) system with accurate, relevant and up-to-date funder information and develop and promote best practice for CRM usage for BD.

• Update RUSI funders on the website annually, ensuring that they are accurate and that we have appropriate permissions to acknowledge them publicly.

• Assist in preparing training materials and internal presentations, including by conducting data analysis. 

• Schedule regular catch ups with research groups, take and share notes in appropriate formats, update trackers. 

• Take accurate and useful minutes and share and follow up on action points after Business Development meetings.

• Establish strong working relationships with research teams, central service teams, and senior management.

• Assist with administrative tasks for the business development team as needed, including setting up tech (Zoom/Teams) meetings, coordinating diaries, and booking meetings.

Managing the institutional Risk Management process:  

• Be responsible for ensuring that risk registers are maintained and updated across the Institute to track risk within the organisation.

• Attend all Audit & Risk Committee meetings to update members on changes to the risk register, and take minutes for each meeting. 

• Work with the COO and Business Development team to ensure that RUSI has in place all policies and procedures across the Institute that are required by funders on various projects. 

• Assist the COO in keeping up to date with all Charity Commission guidance on charity operations and compliance.

• Professional experience in charity administration, business development, customer service, events management, account management or similar.

• Previous experience in grants administration or project management.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The purpose of this role is to lead, develop and deliver WorldSkills UK’s external Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) programmes supported by stakeholder engagement strategies across our network of industry, education and government. The role will ensure that we engage external stakeholders to help deliver our ambition to be a leader, partner and ally in creating positive change for ED&I in the skills sector.

Key tasks and responsibilities

1. Deliver positive action activity for change:

• Support the development and delivery of WorldSkills UK’s external ED&I strategy. Ensure it is fit for purpose, has recognised long term goals and will deliver measurable change, reflecting organisational priorities around increased engagement with ethnic minority groups and females. Provide an overarching framework and help further develop strategic KPIs for our ED&I work, ensuring effective use of data, monitoring progress and performance.
• Work with the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager to develop action plans that will drive our continuous improvement:
  • Support our skills competition development programmes to increase the diversity of young people engaged
  • Support the development of role models to showcase the impact of our work and encourage diversity in key areas of industry, including future priority skill areas
  • Support the development of learning resources that aid engagement with underrepresented groups
  • Support teams to ensure ED&I matters are considered and addressed as key components of all strategies, plans and programmes.

2. Manage the ED&I Advisory Group:

• This is a unique opportunity to work with experienced and prominent senior individuals from across education and industry who are invested in driving the agenda for ED&I.
• Lead the administration and ongoing development of our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Advisory Group.
• Engage the Group to help support, advise and challenge WorldSkills UK on its actions to remove obstacles and barriers faced by young people from under-represented backgrounds in our programmes.
• Report regularly to the Group on progress against KPI’s and facilitate reports for the WorldSkills UK Board.

3. Project Manage the ED&I Heroes Awards

• The Awards is an established flagship event which provides a platform for WorldSkills UK to celebrate success with its partners, amplify best practice and inspire others to drive change across the skills systems in education and business.
• Project manage delivery of the annual Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Heroes Awards, supported by relevant internal teams
  • Establish the nominations process
  • Co-ordinate the judging panel
  • Organise the awards ceremony
  • Manage the support of the awards partners.

4. Manage strategic relationships

• Manage a portfolio of ED&I focused Strategic Partnerships with organisations from across the skills sector, facilitating their support and engagement with our EDI programmes.
• Grow our network of partners to widen our reach, help further drive work in this area and collectively impact on the sector.
• Advise and support the development of the CEO’s international activities on ED&I with WorldSkills International (WSI).

5. Raise the profile of WorldSkills UK’s ED&I work:

• Work with teams across the organisation to support our Mission to ignite a national and global movement to help more young people, regardless of their background, get the best possible start in work and life.
• Support the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager and Marketing and Communications Team to showcase the impact of our programmes:
  • Help to externally profile and articulate the value and impact of our activities using the channels and tools available
  • Seek opportunities to advocate for our work through stakeholder engagement and networking
  • Support the Corporate Partnerships team to identify and secure commercial income related to our ED&I initiatives.
  • Work across the organisation to build on existing external relationships and develop new strategic partnerships that reinforce our position as a skills sector leader.

6. Internal ED&I Liaison:

• Whilst not responsible for WorldSkills UK’s internal ED&I activities and agenda it is anticipated that the post holder will spend up to 10% of their time supporting and working with the Corporate Affairs team on internal ED&I matters, with the remaining 90% spent on external work.
• It is not essential that the postholder has extensive experience in this area.

7. General

• Produce requirement specifications in line with WorldSkills UK’s procurement strategies for all outsourced activity.

This role is office based (as above) but with flexible hybrid working. It is expected the postholder will attend the office at least once or twice a week.

ROLE SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Vice President, Partnerships based in the UK, you will work closely with the teams in our dual headquarters (Toronto, Canada and London, UK), as well as programme and fundraising teams across Africa, Asia, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. You will be responsible for coordinating a variety of functions that support Right To Play’s (RTP’s) global business development and grant management strategy, supporting proposal development for new funding opportunities and grant management for existing donor partnerships. The role will also include internal support for different fundraising offices globally, to ensure joined up approaches are undertaken to secure and manage grant funding across RTP.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

#1. Funding Identification (15% of Time)

• Lead global prospecting for new business development by tracking funding opportunities, and researching suitable new funding opportunities from governments, private organizations, and foundations in line with RTP’s theory of change and organizational priorities.
• Research and understand the current funding strategies of institutional donors and philanthropic giving organisations to support strategic decision-making on new business development. This will include a focus on regional, country, and sectoral funding trends relevant to RTP’s geographic and thematic areas.
• Monitor funding opportunities and ‘calls’, ensuring that the relevant departments globally within RTP are informed in a timely manner with tailored information.
• Act as the global focal point for the internal application approval process by ensuring documentation for go/no go and proposal processes are compliant with procedures and stored in appropriate online portals.

#2. Proposal Development and Grant Management Support (30% of Time)

• Work in conjunction with relevant departments across RTP (including Global Programs, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, and Communications departments), to lead the development of different thematic and programme funding materials that will support new donor acquisition and strong donor stewardship.
• Support programme funding personnel across the organisation in the development of specific materials to assist in new business development and equip fundraisers to seek relevant funding opportunities.
• Support the development of proposals in response to specific funding opportunities as required by the Global Partnerships team and occasionally the Country Office teams, in some cases this will be leading on certain proposals.
• Support programme funding personnel across the organisation in the development of project narrative and financial reports, to ensure high standards of reporting and donor stewardship are maintained. In some cases, this will be leading on certain reports.
• Provide additional ad-hoc support to fundraising activities, personnel and offices across the organisation globally as required across the programme funding cycle to ensure strong proposal development and grant management practices are maintained. 
• Participate in, and represent, RTP in external meetings and networks as required.

#3. Data Management, System Compliance and Coordination (40% of Time)

• Track funding applications, pipelines and reports across all fundraising departments globally, using RTP’s Client Relationship Management (CRM) platform and other tracking tools as required.
• Work closely with fundraising offices across the organisation to ensure timely and accurate use of RTP’s CRM platform so accurate fundraising data is maintained in the system.
• Support quarterly reporting and analysis of global funding progress, funding pipelines, funding priorities, tracking against targets/objectives, and disseminate the information globally to all relevant staff.
• Support the preparation of materials (including presentations) on organisational funding performance for the senior Executive Management Teams.
• Manage internal information databases and Microsoft SharePoint sites ensuring documents related to proposals, donor reports, fundraising materials etc. are stored according to agreed protocols and disseminated across the fundraising and program delivery offices.
• Work closely with the Global Fundraising Operations Manager and Global Business Analyst to ensure the platform remains an accurate and effective database of donor information and responding to ad-hoc tasks as necessary.
• Lead on the preparation and coordination of various monthly procedures as required.

#4. Global Partnerships Team Support (10% of Time)

• Contribute to strategic discussions within the team to support planning and priorities.
• Support the planning and implementation of internal meetings and/or conferences.
• Keep up to date with the major issues pertaining to children, child rights and development, as well as the donor environment and developments within RTP.
• Additional tasks as requested by the members of the Global Partnerships Team.
• Undertake general office administrative tasks as needed.

SSAFA’s Network & Community team, operating across the UK, are proud to announce this role as part of their strategic development plans.

Supported by the Statutory Grants Manager, this role is fundamental in developing, supporting and championing new and existing fundraising from heath providers and local authorities. Job Purpose

The post holder will work cross-functionally to provide front-line administrative and transactional systems support to the People team and the Finance team. Within the HR/People elements of the role, the focus will be on day-to-day systems and process queries, recruitment, HR system support to Ada’s staff, compliance and general HR administration. This will require the post holder to have strong communication skills, strong attention to detail, and have the ability to manage and prioritise their workload.

Role Responsibilities:

Finance Support: 60%

Support the Assistant Finance Manager in updating the Purchase Ledger:

• Ensure that purchase requisitions are received and processed on the accounting system in a timely manner,
• Ensure that all expenditure is recorded against the relevant nominal code and cost account, and that the correct VAT code is used,
• Ensure all suppliers’ invoices are attached to purchase requisitions on ApprovalMax
• Prepare mid and end of the month BACS payment run and ensure that suppliers are paid within payment terms,
• Receive and check all statements from suppliers,
• Investigate and action any issues that arise with regards to creditors,
• Regular review and maintenance of the outstanding purchase order and goods received notes report,

Support the Assistant Finance Manager in updating the Sales ledger:

• Ensure that all income is recorded against the relevant nominal code and cost account and that the correct VAT code is used,
• Ensure that all requests for sales invoices are processed and sent to debtors promptly,
• Ensure that all requests for sales invoices are monitored and chased so that the prompt payment is received

Petty Cash:

• Ensure that the disbursement of the funds, keeping records of those disbursements and requesting replenishment of the fund is done accordingly to the Petty Cash Policy;
• Ensure that the reconciliation of the business petty cash transactions is done on the bi-weekly basis in the Xero finance system.

Other finance duties:

• Support Assistant Finance Manager in preparation of the pay runs;
• Monitoring finance account inbox and dealing with staff, students and supplier queries to ensure they are quickly and properly resolved;
• Support staff in following the financial policies and procedures, such as: filling out charge card tracker, purchase orders, setting up new supplier;
• Support the Finance team in setting up a Fixed Asset Register and making sure it is kept up to date on a regular basis;
• Support the Finance Team with any other queries that may arise.

HR Support:

Recruitment

• To work with the HR Manager to draft adverts for posts being advertised, ensuring that they are well-written and engaging.
• To obtain quotes for advertising on various job boards and recruitment media channels in a timely and accurate fashion ensuring the best possible exposure for vacancies
• To coordinate interview/selection logistics including room bookings, diary management, scheduling and preparation of relevant materials and sending invites to candidates
• To support the HR Manager with the administration processes around onboarding and offboarding of staff including consultants, mentors, volunteers and governors.

Inbox Management & Staff queries

• To manage the recruitment inbox, responding to candidate and hiring manager queries in a timely manner
• To work with the HR Manager to manage the HR inbox, responding to staff enquiries in a timely manner recognising that some correspondence will be highly confidential and/or sensitive in nature.

Systems & Compliance

• To be the main point of contact for all HR system queries and to action all first-level system transactions, escalating more complex transactions to the Head of People & Talent or the HR Manager.
• To send out reference requests for all shortlisted candidates, chasing responses and passing on to the relevant line manager
• To maintain spreadsheets and trackers to ensure all relevant HR information is collected and collated (eg vacancies, DBS and other pre-employment checks, probationary periods, performance management, exit interviews.)
• To create and maintain electronic copies of  personnel files
• To support with the updating of the Single Central Record for all staff, volunteers, consultants, agency workers and governors

General Administration

• To provide accurate data for Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) in monthly data returns,

About the role

The Partnerships Officer role will be part of the Business & Industry team (11 people), who have responsibility for all funding and industry relationships across EngineeringUK. The team works strategically with stakeholders across the engineering, technology and education sectors, to support our mission to increase the number and diversity of young people choosing engineering and technology careers.

As part of the New Partnerships team (3 people), you will be helping to identify and secure new relationships with industry, to support delivery of all four areas of our organisational strategy: research and evidence, collective action, activities for schools, and advocacy.
 

This will primarily focus on securing support for our work to engage young people through:

• The Big Bang programme which comprises The Big Bang Fair, the UK’s largest STEM Careers Fair; the Big Bang at School, smaller Fairs within schools; and The Big Bang Competition
• Energy Quest and Climate Schools Programme, which are programmes to engage young people within the school environment.

As well as seeking to increase the number of corporate members we have, to support our mission and increase collaboration across industry.

Role Overview: 

The Head of Marketing & Sales plays a pivotal role in driving the organisation’s growth. You will develop and execute multi-channel strategies delivered across the funnel from enhancing brand visibility and generating leads, nurturing leads to conversion, right the way through to supporting customer retention and advocacy. This varied role offers the opportunity to expand market reach with our current services, as well as helping launch new products into existing and untapped markets, while delivering a strong RoI. 

As well as being a commercial and strategic leader you will need to be a hands-on problem solver, ready to roll your sleeves up to support a small team to deliver where needed. You will be pivotal in ensuring we achieve our mission and deliver impact for post-16 students.  

You will report directly to the Chief Revenue Generation Officer who leads the revenue team, comprising of digital marketing and content specialists as well as membership support staff.  

Key Responsibilities: 

• Membership engagement and growth: Developing and executing strategic marketing and sales strategies to drive member engagement, growth and retention with our flagship membership and subscription services.  
• Brand positioning and visibility: Ensuring we have a powerful brand that punches above its weight to increase market share, drive competitive advantage and to position the organisation as a thought leader within the sector.
• Marketing analysis and segmentation: Conducting market analysis/research within existing and untapped markets to uncover insights to segment audiences and tailor marketing messaging and activities effectively to drive conversions. 
• Digital marketing: Overseeing digital marketing strategies, including website optimisation, email marketing, search marketing and social media marketing to drive traffic and conversion across the funnel stages.   
• Content and creativity: Oversea content strategy and creation across various formats and channels, ensuring innovation and creativity to stand out in a crowded market.
