In this pivotal role, you'll oversee a diverse range of programmes and partnerships across the region, ensuring they are well-managed, strategically aligned, and delivering lasting impact for children and communities.
Working closely with Country Offices, donors, and internal colleagues, you'll manage risk, drive performance, and capture learning that shapes future portfolio opportunities. About the Team
The Portfolio & Risk Team manages the SCUK International Restricted Portfolio, supporting Country Offices and local partners in achieving strategic goals. They collaborate closely with Country Offices and other members, offering expertise in programme management, donor compliance, and risk management. Their responsibilities include ensuring compliance, quality assurance, and addressing sensitive issues such as fraud, safeguarding, and safety/security concerns. The team also ensures that learning from the portfolio informs future partnership and portfolio opportunities.
Key Accountabilities
The Portfolio Manager for West and Central Africa (WCA) is responsible for overseeing the successful implementation of Save the Children UK's portfolio across multiple Country Offices in the region. This includes providing direct management support to Country Offices, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and supporting the effective delivery of programmes and partnerships. Working with a high degree of autonomy, the postholder will lead on managing risks, issues and challenges specific to the WCA portfolio and escalate as necessary to senior colleagues.
The role works closely with the Senior Portfolio Manager for WCA and the Regional Portfolio Lead to ensure regional priorities are supported and delivered. This includes contributing to the effective development and implementation of regional and strategic partnerships, identifying and addressing systemic risks and issues across WCA, and capturing lessons learned to inform future portfolio development opportunities. The Portfolio Manager will also collaborate with colleagues across Partnership Engagement and Portfolio Development to strengthen new partnership opportunities in the region.
In this role, you will:
• Manage the delivery of Save the Children UK's (SCUK) portfolio by overseeing grant and contract management, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and supporting Country Offices (COs) in achieving program deliverables and managing risks and issues.
• Provide oversight of risk management and portfolio performance, making informed decisions on issues, ensuring key performance indicators are met, and escalating concerns when required.
• Support portfolio development efforts, identifying new funding opportunities with COs, and maintaining up-to-date award and information systems.
• Monitor portfolio performance across designated regions, or other regions when resourcing help is requested, evaluating progress, ensuring adherence to SCUK policies, and ensuring compliance with donor and partner requirements, making adjustments where necessary to ensure success and sustainability.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key staff in Country Offices, offering operational support as needed to ensure quality programming and donor compliance.
• Work to ensure Country Office priorities drive SCUK support for programming, while fostering collaboration across relevant SCUK teams.
• Oversee relevant research projects, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and quality standards, and managing associated risks. Ensure quality assurance processes are completed for research projects, resulting in the right product for the right audiences and adherence to research ethics. Explore solutions for efficient management and synthesis of evidence and learning from SCUK-supported and external research to feed into future partnerships and portfolio design.
• Ensure continuous improvement by facilitating the sharing of lessons learned, best practices, and success stories to inform future portfolio and partnership development efforts and capture knowledge management across the SCUK portfolio.
• Support in identifying new funding opportunities, as follow on from existing awards and/or as part of the day-to-day interaction with donors and that this will be included in the central pipeline management. As directed by the Head of Portfolio Development, this role may be asked to support on proposal development as necessary.
About You
We are looking for someone with the following experience, competencies and skills:
• Project and Portfolio Management: Experience in managing portfolios across multiple Country Offices, with knowledge of donor compliance requirements and the proven experience of ensuring a portfolio of work is delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with donor requirements and agreed outcomes.
• Risk Management and Mitigation: Proficiency in identifying, assessing, and addressing risks at both the portfolio and project levels, ensuring that strategies are in place to minimise or resolve potential issues.
• Stakeholder and Donor Relationship Management: Strong ability to develop and manage successful relationships with donors, strategic partners, and Country Offices, ensuring effective communication and alignment with organisational priorities.
• Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting: Skilled in overseeing the collection and analysis of data for portfolio performance, as well as financial management and ensuring effective monitoring and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge Sharing: Ability to facilitate the sharing of best practices and lessons learned to enhance future portfolio management and development opportunities.
• Management Skills: Ability to manage a diverse portfolio, to ensure the portfolio's success across various regions and partnerships.
• Communication and Relationship Management: Proven ability to work effectively in a team and build strong relationships with colleagues from different organisations, functions, and cultures. This includes excellent communication skills for engaging with multiple stakeholders, including Country Offices, donors, and internal teams, ensuring clear and effective dissemination of information and fostering collaboration.
• Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Good attention to detail with the ability to identify risks, assess potential issues, and develop solutions that support successful portfolio delivery and overcome challenges across different contexts.
• Technical Expertise: A good understanding of program management, international development, and donor relations.
• Language Skills: Fluency in French (essential) and English.

Job Description
LMK’s Head of Programmes leads the development and delivery of our range of relationship education programmes for young people and the adults that support them. As we move into the next phase of our development, the role includes expanding the delivery of high quality education workshops for young people outside London and supporting ongoing conversations to embed learning through the provision of digital resources for young people and the trusted adults around them.
Leading a passionate and talented team of employees and freelance youth workers (LMK Leaders), and working closely with the Research and Evaluation Manager and Community Engagement Manager, this role is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of our programmes.
This role is an important ambassadorial role for LMK, bringing gravitas and insight from your experience of education provision to evidence LMK’s impact to fellow education professionals, youth workers, funders and the media.
The Head of Programmes acts as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) collaborating with the CEO (Deputy DSL) and two Designated Safeguarding Officers (DSOs) to ensure our practice is safe.

THE OPPORTUNITY
The Major Gifts Coordinator is accountable for providing strategic coordination and operational delivery support to the Major Gifts and Partnerships team. This role exists to ensure effective planning, organization, and execution of fundraising activities, donor engagement, and internal processes that drive income growth and relationship management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Major Gifts Coordinator will own the outcomes of:
- Meeting and event coordination – Schedule, plan, and deliver internal and external meetings, visitor itineraries, and events logistics (venues, RSVPs, travel, catering, guest lists).
- Data and follow-up management – Enter and maintain accurate CRM records, track donor actions and follow-ups, and support reporting to ensure timely stewardship and accountability.
- Briefing and materials preparation – Prepare and format meeting briefs, bios, agendas, proposals, reports, and country/project background materials to support donor engagement.
- Administrative support – Manage team administration including expenses, budget updates, registrations for events/conferences, and maintaining the strategy tracker.
- Research and insight gathering – Support and coordinate prospect research, network mapping, and information gathering across different channels.
- Team and governance support – Draft internal updates, support board meeting preparation, and assist with team check-ins and strategy monitoring processes.
- Collaboration and culture – Work with colleagues across the team to share information, support projects, and help build a collaborative and well-organised working environment.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

At least 3 years in administration, coordination, fundraising support, or related roles. Candidates with less formal experience but with demonstrated ability and potential will also be considered.

Familiarity with working in an international or not-for-profit environment.

Experience with coordinating meetings, events, donor visits, and logistics to support fundraising activities.

Experience in preparing briefs, proposals, reports, and donor communications to a high standard.

Managing CRM data, budgets, expenses, and follow-ups to ensure accuracy and accountability.

Introduction
This new role will work with our Senior Leaders as well as supporting the team to pursue opportunities generated through excellent relationship building across the organisation. With the ultimate goal of increasing philanthropic income for the RSPB, the role requires an experienced and successful major gifts fundraiser who will lead the development of new relationships to help steer the team towards achieving its ambitious goals.
An energetic and confident self-starter, they will lead on developing opportunities to engage with and raise funding from the contacts of our most senior colleagues and volunteers at the RSPB. They will also manage donor relationships and solicitation strategies to achieve the best outcome for the RSPB.
What's the role about?
You will lead an exciting new area of philanthropic fundraising at the RSPB, seeking significant gifts for our work from new supporters, with a key focus on our developing Land Fund product.
You will look after your own portfolio of donors and be responsible for fundraising information to advance plans and ensure prospect and donor records are accurate, incorporating any changes, new activities, updated plans, and new information in keeping with data protection and team procedures.
You will work closely with your team and wider organisation colleagues to implement solicitation strategies, to secure financial support either by direct solicitation, preparing a written proposal, or working with senior management to make a solicitation.
You will contribute to the planning of and participate actively in events (face to face and online) to build relationships with donors and prospects for future income and to demonstrate the impact of gifts already received.
You will arrange and attend meetings with individual donors at a variety of venues, including our reserves, working closely with area and reserve colleagues to deliver an excellent experience for our supporters.
You will build effective relationships both within the RSPB and external to it that will enhance its reputation and ultimately secure funding. This includes understanding donors’ wishes and aspirations and identifying links with approved priority projects with the aim of securing substantial gifts.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Intermediate levels of fundraising as demonstrated by work successes and recognised fundraising courses.
- Experience in how to research and cultivate a prospect. And understanding of how to write a cultivation strategy.
- Ability to write funding proposals, reports and updates, and prepare briefing documents in advance of meetings and events.
- Competent in the use of a CRM system (Salesforce), the Microsoft suite, other databases, research tools and methods.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members, and people and teams outside of our department.
- Good judgement when working with donors and ability to recognise potentially sensitive areas between prospects and the RSPB to ensure reputational values are maintained.
- Successful management and development of donor relationships leading to substantial support (6- and 7-figure gifts).
- Experience of planning and running high level/special events.
- Experience of line management and mentoring.

Individual Giving

The role will lead on our use of our CRM system (Donorfy) ensuring supporter’s data is collected effectively and used in compliance with data protection legislation. You will champion the use of Donorfy, making sure it is being used to its full potential.
With this data you will manage segmentation, using a targeted approach to ensure we optimise the return on investment of our appeals and fundraising activities.

What the job involves
The Policy and Health Influencing team is responsible for using clinical data and evidence to shape what the organisation thinks and to develop solutions that drive change for men with and at risk of prostate cancer. This means working with clinicians, patients and stakeholders to interpret the latest changes in prostate cancer research, care, support and treatment which will help shape our strategic direction and activities.
As the Policy and Health Influencing Coordinator, you're key to supporting the policy and health influencing team, and teams across the Health Services, Equity and Improvement Directorate when needed. You'll have a varied and far-reaching portfolio of work for example, at times arranging important stakeholder events and meetings and ensuring we're hearing from people who've been through prostate cancer themselves. You'll also help share our work on social media and capture the outcomes of our external engagement.
In this role you’ll assist us in keeping track of and evaluating our progress in line with our organisational strategy, as well as keeping an eye on trends in the wider cancer and health landscape and reporting on them. Plus, you'll handle budget matters and make sure we have effective budget monitoring mechanisms in place.

- Lead on the stewardship of existing funders, managing the reporting relationship.

- Build strong cases for support, identifying all the information needed to create compelling proposals and reports for high and mid-value funders
- Write, budget and submit applications to trusts and foundations.

Communications

- Provide clear guidance to colleagues on funded project requirements, deadlines and reporting, contributing to the creation of management processes to gather this data, including the Wonderfund and project activity.
- Provide data for use at Board level to support decision-making.
- Manage the collection of all qualitative and quantitative data for reporting purposes to donors, trusts and foundations and service level agreement partners including Bath Spa University.
Partnerships
