We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us.
The well being of our people is important and at Cats Protection we are committed to safeguarding children, adults at risk and all those that we encounter as part of our activities.

Food banks provide three-day emergency food parcels for people in crisis, volunteering in partnership with organisations across the community. - This is a flexible role. The amount of time you offer can work to your availability and convenience.
- There may be opportunities for your activities to be fully remote and/or admin based if you'd prefer.
- You will need your own transport if you wish to attend events, ideally a car or van since items, stock and equipment will usually be needed.
- We ask that you complete training to support you in your role. This can be completed online if you have access to the internet and the necessary device (computer/laptop/tablet etc). Support can be offered or paper versions of much of the training if needed.

Time expectation
Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

The IWI Conference Planner will be responsible for the full lifecycle of an event, from strategic planning and budgeting to on-site logistics and post-event evaluation, ensuring the event aligns with The IWI's mission and goals. Key duties include venue and vendor selection, budget management, marketing and attendee registration, speaker and sponsor coordination, managing event staff and volunteers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and reporting on event success to leadership. This role requires strong project management, budget management, communication, and negotiation skills to deliver a high-quality experience within financial constraints.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Event Strategy & Planning:
Collaborate with stakeholders to define event goals, themes, and target audiences, and develop comprehensive plans and timelines.
Budget Management:
Create and manage event budgets, identifying cost-effective solutions, securing sponsorships, and tracking expenditures to meet financial objectives.
Logistics & Operations:
Oversee all logistical aspects, including venue selection, vendor management (catering, AV, decor), and event setup and breakdown.
Marketing & Communication:
Develop and implement marketing and promotion strategies to attract attendees, manage attendee registrations, and ensure smooth communication before and during the event.
Stakeholder & Speaker Management:
Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and speakers, managing contracts and ensuring all logistical needs are met.
On-site Management:
Provide leadership and support on the day of the event, troubleshooting issues, coordinating staff and volunteers, and ensuring the event runs smoothly.
Post-Event Activities:
Conduct post-event evaluations, analyse success metrics, gather feedback, and prepare reports to inform future events.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Project Management:

Proficiency in creating, managing, and adhering to budgets.

What we're looking for:
We are looking for enthusiastic people from across the UK who are passionate about helping children and young people feel and be safe in sports and physical activities.
What you'll do:
Represent the Safe in Sport Volunteer Programme at selected events in your locality, where you will make a difference, through sharing our Child Protection in Sport Unit's resources and gathering insights around safeguarding.
- Liaise with the Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) to learn about safeguarding in sport and physical activity
- Raise awareness of and signpost to available safeguarding tools and support
- Promote and encourage event attendees to engage with key messages; especially with themes for sport and physical activity participants, their families, and organisers, to help CPSU support them to keep children and young people safe in sport.
- Gather insights from event attendees, e.g. by sharing QR survey links
- Complete a simple event feedback form and return to CPSU
- Promote the wider work of the NSPCC and CPSU at events
