About the Role

The role of the Media Officer is to support Reprieve’s communications through traditional and social media, in support of the organisation’s strategic and fundraising objectives. You will be responsible for building relationships with journalists, providing media advice to Reprieve staff, and working with colleagues to ensure external messaging is consistent in quotes, briefings, social media content, and on Reprieve’s website. You will help to find and develop stories, collaborating with journalists and external partners on media that has an impact: revealing human rights abuses, shaping policy and raising the profile of our clients.

The successful candidate will have excellent writing and communication skills, and a proven ability to produce exceptional work under pressure. They will have a deep understanding of all forms of media and how to use these platforms for maximum impact, and a track record of securing media coverage on challenging issues.

Length and Salary

This is a full-time role on a one-year fixed term contract, subject to extension depending on funding. The annual salary is £42,193 per annum less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance.

This role is based in Reprieve’s London office. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work 40% of their working hours from the London office and the rest of the week from home.

The Executive Assistant to the Chief Development Officer and the Director of Development (EA to CDO and DoD) will provide proactive senior-level support within a busy office and theatre environment.

The EA to CDO and DoD will support the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and the Director of Development (DoD) in delivering their roles efficiently and effectively, focusing on comprehensive inbox and diary management to ensure strategic prioritisation of commitments. As an engaged and diplomatic communicator, they would act as first point of contact for all matters relating to the CDO and DoD, working in partnership with colleagues in the Development team, and more widely across the organisation. They will understand the nuances of the external relationships the CDO and DoD hold to enable co-ordination of supporter correspondence on the CDO and DoD’s behalf, ensuring that conversations progress sensitively and at pace.

The role also manages the co-ordination and communication with the Development Board and other fundraising committees.

The successful candidate will have the following: 

• Significant experience in an assistant role, including complex diary and inbox management.
• A positive disposition, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal confidently with a wide range of internal and external contacts.

The Society

The Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers) is the learned society and professional body for geography and geographers. It is also a charity and a membership organisation. The Society was founded in 1830 and has been one of the most active of the learned societies ever since. It was pivotal in establishing geography as a teaching and research discipline in British universities and continues to play a key role in geographical and environmental education.

The Society is a leading world centre for geographical learning – supporting education, teaching, research, professional practice and scientific expeditions, as well as promoting public understanding and enjoyment of geography and providing advice to policymakers.

The Society offers professional accreditation to members through Chartered Geographer status. The Society is based in a listed building in its own grounds in Kensington opposite Hyde Park, and operates nine regional branches in the UK and two overseas.

The Position

We are seeking a proactive, collaborative professional with marketing and sales experience to take on the role of Membership Development Manager.

This is a new role to drive the growth, engagement, and retention of our Fellows and Members by working across the organisation to deliver membership acquisition, development, and engagement.

You will work across our organisation to develop member-focused initiatives and contribute to the Society’s strategic goals of expanding and diversifying its membership base.

Duties and responsibilities

• Membership acquisition - Design and deliver, in partnership with colleagues, membership strategies that grow acquisition, deepen engagement, and improve retention.
• Membership development - Design and develop product diversification, pathways for member progression, including transitions between membership types and professional recognition.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure membership and partnership initiatives support wider organisational goals.

The successful candidate will have commercial, marketing and sales experience as well as experience in membership development – products, services, customer engagement, or professional development.

Salary and Benefits

This is a permanent, full-time post subject to successful completion of a probationary period of three months. The salary range for this post is £45,000 to £47,375 per annum depending on experience and qualifications. The post is based in Kensington, London.

The Clean Air Fund is looking to recruit a Project Director to lead a major new initiative supporting the implementation of the revised Ambient Air Quality Directive (AAQD) across nine EU Member States. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver a multi-country programme focused on reducing air pollution and climate emissions in Europe.

As Project Director, you will be responsible for establishing and overseeing the Europe Clean Air Quality project, ensuring it is well set up with strong governance, strategy, and stakeholder engagement. You will lead a dedicated project team, manage relationships with funders and partners, and supervise grant-making and technical assistance efforts across targeted Member States.

Key responsibilities include:

• Defining and implementing strategy across nine EU Member States and pan-EU initiatives.
• Leading technical assistance, policy advocacy, and strategic communications projects.
• Building partnerships with stakeholders in the most polluted regions to support AAQD transposition and implementation.
• Managing a team of project managers, analysts, consultants, and grantee partners.
• Overseeing operational planning, budgeting, and reporting to senior leadership and funders.
• Representing the project externally and ensuring alignment with Clean Air Fund’s broader Europe portfolio

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Extensive experience managing high-value, multi-country projects in the EU or internationally.
• Deep knowledge of energy transition or climate policy in the EU; air pollution expertise is a plus.
• Strong strategic, leadership, and project management skills.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, grants, and complex stakeholder relationships.
• Familiarity with EU institutions and political economy.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Person Specification

HR Operations & Compliance

• 3–5 years of relevant HR experience, ideally within a small or purpose-led organisation.

• Demonstrated experience managing sensitive employee relations issues.

• Strong working knowledge of UK employment law, HR policy development, and HR best practice.

• Demonstrable awareness of emerging trends in People and HR, including the opportunities and ethical considerations presented by AI and automation

• CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above), or equivalent experience.
