Day Care Officer – Day Care Centres
Age UK Camden Day Care Centres are looking to recruit a Day Care Officer to cover 20 hours a week in shifts (4 x 5 hours) across our two Day Care Centres.
There is a need to be flexible to be able to cover all days Monday to Friday and days are subject to change based on the rota.
We are also looking to recruit a Day Care Officer on a 25 hour week for maternity cover on a fixed term contract starting on the 1st September 2025 for 39 weeks.
Our Centres provide a wide range of activities as well as being a specialist Day Care Centres caring for older people with complex needs. The Day Care Centres also provide a hot lunch and a range of special events. We have a dedicated, specialist team supporting people with care needs, including those living with mild - moderate dementia and complex needs.
The successful candidates will:

(Staff work across both centres so need to be able to travel to Kings Cross and Hampstead. Shifts range in times across the day and you must be able to work all the various shifts)

About the role
The Home Ownership Officer will play a key role in managing the relationship between Hastoe and its leaseholders, shared owners and freeholders. The role ensures compliance with leases, legislation and internal policies, while supporting residents with advice and managing a range of property and legal matters.
The role will also support the Home Ownership Manager in delivering a high-quality service to homeowners, ensuring compliance with leases, legislative requirements, and Hastoe policies.
Duties will include:
- Acting as the main point of contact for leaseholders and shared owners, dealing with queries related to leases, service charges and home ownership policies.
- Managing statutory and voluntary lease extensions, collective enfranchisement applications as well as staircasing, liaising with legal teams and valuers as needed.
- Investigating and resolving breaches of lease conditions, working with internal and external partners to achieve timely resolution.
- Carrying out administration aspects relating to resales, disposals, consultations and Ground Rent.
- Working with our solicitors to prepare cases for legal action including injunctions, money judgments, and forfeiture where necessary, and representing the organization at court or tribunal hearings.
- Liaising with finance teams to answer any service charge queries and to assist with the service charge estimates and actuals.
- Delivering excellent customer service, ensuring all queries are handled effectively and professionally.

About you
You will need to have proven experience in housing management, particularly in dealing with leaseholders and shared ownership leases, including the legal frameworks surrounding them. The role requires you to have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to delivering high standards.
You will also need:
- Be educated to A-Level standard.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- To be flexible and adaptable to change, with a willingness to learn and develop in the role.

3. The Project Officer would also lead corporate volunteering days, likely to take place at the Meridian One Community Garden & Tree Nursery in Enfield.
The post holder will mainly deliver core activities independently, although they'll work closely with the existing colleagues in Waltham Forest, to ensure local people receive the best possible experience. They'll be occasions when there's a need to work extra hours, including evenings & weekends, such as during Love Parks week, which takes place each July & during family events at the community garden (approximately 6 weekend days a year).
The post is full-time for 35 hours per week. The Project Officer will be based in TCV's community garden in Upper Edmonton, Enfield. The community garden has an office from which the post holder will be expected to be based 3 days a week, in order to administer this project. We are seeking a new Finance and Administration Officer following the upcoming retirement of a long-serving team member. A key member of the SLA central office team, the Finance and Administration Officer plays a vital role in ensuring smooth financial operations and providing essential administrative support for our membership. In addition to administration support, this role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, book-keeping and effective day-to-day financial operations, producing financial reports using XERO and our CRM.
You will be experienced in financial and administration operations of a charity or similar , with an AAT qualification or matching worked experience. Familiarity with XERO will be an advantage. You will be able to bring understanding of cashflow and financial analysis of figure, working with accountants as required.
You will also have excellent customer service skills and be able to work effectively with all stakeholders from our members, to funders to suppliers. You will be determined and have an excellent eye for financial and administrative detail. Your duties will include general administration and:
Financial operations and record-keeping
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate records of all SLA accounts and petty cash; book-keeping
- Process and record all incoming payments, including foreign cheques (into bank account)
- Monitor cashflow and expenditure, keeping track of spending
- Pay invoices upon approval and ensure timely monthly payments (e.g. pensions, HMRC)
- Handle creditor and supplier communications and resolve related issues
- Monitor and follow up on overdue payments with a focus on membership payments
Invoicing and income tracking
- Issue and track membership and subscriber invoices and reminders
- Keep office team informed of payment statuses
- Prepare sales, cost, and profit reports for SLA publications

Payroll and reporting
- Liaise with the accountant on salary payments; process salary BACS payments
- Support year-end financial reporting by providing necessary documentation to accountants

- Manage financial aspects of SLA events, particularly the annual conference (e.g., exhibitors, sponsors, and delegates)

To be successful in this role you should demonstrate:
- Strong experience in financial and office administration

You will work with our senior team to drive international engagement with policymakers, parliamentarians, international organisations, and strategic partners. Your work will help us to position babies – and the first 1001 days – at the heart of global policy agendas.
You will be responsible for engaging and coordinating the relationships between our senior team and leaders around the world. You will keep abreast of policy developments in our target international countries and facilitate our international advocacy efforts. With support and supervision from the Director of Research and Grants and our Chair of Trustees, you will support the development of partnerships that extend our reach and deepen our impact. Through this work you will help us to bring the voice of babies to partners around the world.

Salary
The salary for this position is £31,935 per annum and we operate a hybrid working policy of a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities
Research grant management
- Managing the delivery of GOSH Charity’s response-mode funding schemes, including our National Research Project Grant and ‘Lift Off’ pilot study funding call and others.
- Supporting potential applicants via email, phone or in person to ensure we receive high quality grant applications.
- Processing, reviewing and validating grant applications.
- Leading the peer review process using our Grant Management System.
- Project managing the delivery of the Research Assessment Panel.
- Supporting the input of patient and public voice, to ensure they’re built into our research funding decision making.
Committee management
- Providing operational and secretariat support to the Research Assessment Panel and Lift Off Scientific Assessment Panels, and other expert research review panels as required.
- Managing agendas and meeting logistics, including face to face meetings as they are arranged.
- Preparing papers and reports, and collating these from across the team for delivery to the Committee in good time.
- Preparing high quality minutes that provide a clear record of discussions, decisions, and actions, and disseminating these following internal and Chair approval.
- Support the regular review of the Committee membership and tenure.
- Evaluating and recommending improvement and applying sector best practice to the Committee operations.
- Being a first point of call for Committee members, supporting them to deliver their role and ensuring they have a good experience working with GOSH Charity

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Previous experience working in grants management or within relevant scientific research.
- Knowledge of research principles and the UK research funding environment.
- Sound knowledge of paediatric research or similar discipline.
- Demonstrate experience of research quality assessments, including peer review.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Strong relationship builder, with the ability to network in the scientific, clinical and research communities.
- Either an undergraduate degree in a relevant scientific discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience.

Main Responsibilities

Overview of the Team
The Corporate Services team provides essential strategic and operational support across the organisation. Our governance function oversees compliance, risk management, and performance frameworks. The finance team manages budgets, financial planning, and reporting. All of this contributes to effective decision making. We are also responsible for looking after our properties, which includes maintaining oversight of two commercial leases, and maintaining Dartmouth House which is a grade II* listed events venue and our Head Office in Mayfair.
Purpose of this role
The Senior Governance Officer will provide high quality support to the Board of Trustees and its sub-Committees, and the Chief Operating Officer. This role will work closely with the Executive Assistant to the Director General.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being at the heart of an organisation’s operations—helping to keep the corporate services running smoothly, so that our Education and Supporter teams can focus on delivering impact through our programmes.
Responsibilities and Expectations
- Provide governance support including the preparation and timely circulation of agendas, papers, minutes and action logs for Board and Committee meetings.
- Monitor and report on progress against Board and Committee actions, ensuring timely follow-up and delivery.
- Ensure the charity complies with statutory, regulatory and sector best practice, including maintenance of key registers including the risk register, gift & hospitality register, declarations of interest, and compliance trackers.
- Maintain the organisation’s contract register, tracking review dates and supporting internal contract reviews and renewals.
- Provide high-quality administrative and organisational support to the Chief Operating Officer, helping to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of the annual external audit, working with colleagues and auditors to meet key deadlines.
- Support the delivery of the annual Board effectiveness review, gathering feedback and helping to implement improvements.
- Facilitate due diligence checks as needed, liaising with legal advisors to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Deliver one-off projects and provide flexible support across the Corporate Services team as required.
