About the role

As our Senior Finance & Operations Officer, you will be at the heart of our organisation’s success. Working closely with the Director, Finance and Operations, you will help to manage financial processes, streamline operations, and ensure both our UK and EU teams are properly resourced to drive our mission forward. You will interact daily with a broad range of stakeholders in the UK and the EU including senior level staff, external consultants and suppliers in the while also working closely with Finance, HR & IT colleagues in the US.

Key responsibilities

Financial Management (30%)

• Support on day-to-day financial activities including financial reporting, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Develop and implement best practices to optimise operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with the team to develop and monitor project budgets.
• Support decision-making through insightful financial analysis.

Operational Support (40%)

• Be the first point of contact for all enquiries from the campaigns and fundraising teams in the UK and EU.

Contracts Lifecycle Management (30%)

• Oversee the lifecycle of all supplier contracts: creation, submission and signing. (Legal contract knowledge is not required.)

We're looking for a Senior Project Officer, to work in our Innovation and Practice team and support exemplary, agile project management across Involve. 

This is an exciting time to join the Involve team. Alongside increasing public and political interest in our approaches, we are increasing the size and impact of our project work. We have a couple of new multifaceted projects which need really effective and agile project management. As a Senior Project Officer you will contribute to all aspects of our delivery, with a particular focus on project and programme management of larger projects. Your main focus will be on:

• Project management and delivery - core project management and logistics, running onboarding for participants, event management, analysis and reporting, and facilitation

• Building our project management approach further - supporting Involve to build our project management capacity and resources that are appropriate for our creative, inclusive processes and culture

• Project and programme design - working with project teams to design entire projects and processes which use deliberative, qualitative and participatory methods

• Project impact - recording and monitoring how our projects work, the kinds of impacts they have, and the ways they contribute to Involve’s mission. 

This Senior Project Officer role sits in our Innovation and Practice Function. Our team’s daily work includes setting up, managing, designing, delivering and reporting on a wide range of participatory and deliberative processes, ranging from small scale, hyper-local community engagements to large, national, multi-event Citizens’ Assemblies and longer term projects. Our processes can be face to face, hybrid, or online, and often involve bringing together different groups from within the public with interested parties and experts from across government, business , academia and civil society.

In addition, you would work closely with our Capacity Building and Standards team to support their work helping others to deliver these approaches and contribute to our communications and advocacy work. You will also support fundraising for grants and projects, responding to tenders and writing proposals and building relationships with our funders, collaborators and clients. 

We are looking for an excellent project manager, able to manage fairly large projects and task manage others at all levels to ensure smooth delivery. You will be great at managing relationships at all levels and working with others to get things done. Given the nature of our work we are also looking for public participation skills, or relevant or transferable expertise and an understanding of deliberative practice. That will enable you to design and deliver project management, and support facilitation that fits our work and enables you to contribute to advising our clients on designing and delivering effective engagement. It is critical that you are open to new ideas, a good team player, committed to shifting power and addressing inequities in our society and that you are passionate about furthering our vision. Experience of building project management capacity, fundraising and staff management is desirable. 

Salary band: £38,975 - £43,584

Location: Flexible. Must be comfortable with committing to regular travel both for project work and Involve team activities. Must be able to travel across the UK.

About On Your Side

On Your Side is the UK-wide support and reporting service for East and Southeast Asian communities who experience racism and/or any forms of hate.

Launched in August 2022, the service includes a 24/7 freephone helpline available in East and Southeast Asian languages; a website with reporting forms and resources; and ongoing community-based support delivered by trained casework advocates. We work to ensure that those who  experience racism and/or hate have access to the highest levels of culturally competent support while building a better picture of the nature and range of incidents so they can be better prevented.

Funded by the UK Department for Levelling Up Housing and Communities, On Your Side is delivered by a consortium of 9 organisations including East and Southeast Asian led community groups alongside national hate crime reporting and hate crime prevention organisations. This role will be based at the consortium lead organisation, identity-based violence prevention charity Protection Approaches.

About the role

Based at Protection Approaches, the Project Officer will report directly to the On Your Side Project Manager, and work closely with Protection Approaches’ team, On Your Side Casework Coordinator, Outreach Officer, and all consortium partners.

This is a new and exciting role that will be central to the delivery and development of the On Your Side service as it moves into a new phase over the next 12 months as an established, sustainable service.

In this role the Project Officer will develop their project management skills as they work with the Project Manager on overall coordination of the On Your Side service including coordination of the project delivery team across partner organisations to ensure they are meeting agreed objectives to agreed timelines.

You will oversee several distinct areas of work including overseeing the strategy and work of the On Your Side Outreach Officer in developing and implementing new engagement, outreach, communications and public education strategies. You will also oversee the publishing of a quarterly data report, and ensuring data is being recorded appropriately and accurately.

You will represent the service at high profile meetings and events including meeting with current and future funders, representatives from national and local government, other policy-makers, police and, academic experts to build the profile of the service, improve its support methodologies and impact, and assist in the development and implementation of sustainability and fundraising plans for the service.

You will be trained by the Protection Approaches Outreach team on delivery of hate crime workshops, and other trainings and use those skills to deliver awareness sessions for On Your Side, raising awareness of the service and it’s benefits while supporting ESEA community members to better understand their rights and how they can tackle racism and hate.

The role is a 12-month fixed term contract. During this period we expect to secure additional resources to ensure the ongoing delivery of this service and extend the role of Project Officer.

The successful candidate will:

• Assist the Project Manager in overall coordination of the On Your Side service including coordination of the project delivery team across partner organisations to ensure they are meeting agreed objectives to agreed timelines
• Oversee the work and strategy of the On Your Side Outreach Officer to develop and implement engagement, outreach, and public education strategies to increase knowledge about the service and use of the service
• Increase the profile and visibility of On Your Side particularly among key stakeholders in ESEA communities and service provider to establish partnerships in outreach or referrals
• Represent the service at high profile external meetings, such as with funders, or stakeholders in regional or national government

About the role

The main purpose of the role is to coordinate the Methodist Church’s response to the arrival of Hong Kong nationals in Great Britain.  

This will involve liaising with the Methodist Church in Hong Kong and with circuits and local churches in Britain to ensure pastoral support for Hong Kong Methodists as they make the transition to this country.  You will help to motivate local circuits and churches to welcome and integrate the new arrivals into congregations, and you will provide support and training to facilitate this.  You will also develop connections with Cantonese-speaking groups and congregations already in existence, and may be involved in facilitating the formation of new ones.  Establishing connections and fostering supportive relationships to enable an effective network that brings together Methodists from Hong Kong and British churches, is key to your role.

The Centre for Ageing Better launched the first ever campaign focusing on ageism in January 2024.

Ageism is the most widespread form of discrimination in the UK. And it will impact us all at some point, particularly as we get older. Ageism affects how society sees older people: they’re often reduced to offensive stereotypes, patronised, or treated as a burden. And it even affects how we see ourselves. As the years progress, we start to believe what we read, see and hear, and come to think that we’re ‘past it’.

The Head of Ageism Campaign plays a key role in a small team responsible for planning and delivering a nationwide public-facing campaign to bring an end to ageism in England. The public-facing campaign is one strand of a wider ‘age-friendly’ social movement aimed to make people think, feel and act differently about ageing, which will work on a number of levels and with a range of different audiences.

Under the direction of the Director of Communications & Policy and with an expert external consultant, this role is responsible for planning, delivering, measuring and iterating campaign activities that lead to measurable changes in attitudes and behaviour amongst the public.

The campaign will position Ageing Better as a thought leader and expert on ageism in England and mobilise the public and stakeholders around key activity and campaign moments, working at a national, regional and local level.

The postholder will jointly manage a creative agency to deliver phase two of our mass marketing campaign, ‘always on’ activity, and a moment of collective action once a year for warm audiences and ambassadors for the campaign.

INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE

Girls Not Brides is seeking an experienced digital communications professional to manage the Girls Not Brides website in English, French and Spanish, including website development, maintenance, continuous improvement planning, infrastructure, architecture, and user journey. You will be responsible for implementing a website improvement project and a new members area. This role will also be responsible for developing and producing performance data, evaluation, and reporting across our digital channels. We are looking for someone who has a passion for managing websites, using data to improve performance and engagement, and using digital platforms to drive movements. The successful applicant will support across our digital channels. This role sits in the Communications Team and reports to the Communications Manager. You will work closely with external website developers to deliver a website that showcases Girls Not Brides and our role as the global movement to end child marriage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Girls Not Brides website (70%)

• Lead the development and implementation of the website improvement strategy and project plan, with support from the Communications Manager.
• Recommend and manage changes to the website architecture, front-end design, features, integrations, and user-journey improvements.
• Manage the day-to-day of activity of Girls Not Brides website, including uploading content in 3 languages (English, French and Spanish), optimising content for web, updating static pages when needed, and recommending updates and upgrades to the CMS.
• Responsible for managing website projects, including the upgrade, update and support and maintenance pipeline, as well as larger-scale changes to website functionality and architecture, managing external contractors to produce the work required on time and within budget.
• Research and implementing best-practices for search engine optimisation (SEO) across website copy and architecture.
• Produce and manage a clear, well-documented approach to web analytics, producing regular reports, monitoring user behaviour and website traffic, carrying out benchmarking, identifying KPIs and providing actionable insights.
• Support content writing for the website, including writing website copy and blog posts.
• Collaborate with the learning team in development of knowledge and learning hub.
• Collaborate with the member engagement team to improve member journey and offering.

Digital channel evaluation and reporting (20%)

• Set-up, maintain, and manage website analytics using the Google suite.
• Monitor and evaluate website success, including functionality, engagement, and traffic, producing regular reports, and providing recommendations.
• Monitor and evaluate the success of other digital channels, including social media and email marketing, producing regular reports, and providing recommendations.
• Monitor, evaluate and improve compliance of the website, including GDPR and accessibility best practices.

Digital communications support (10%)

• Lead communications digital knowledge management activity, including internal file systems, and asset management.
• Manage the email pipeline and support email marketing, including copywriting and content generation for regular newsletters, making recommendations to improve engagement.
• Make recommendations for our digital tools, ensuring they are fit for purpose and follow the latest trends and best practice.
• Support digital storytelling, digital content writing, and social media campaigns as required.

We're looking for a Voids and Project Manager to join our Landlord Services team in located at our Head Office currently located in Westminster and moving to Caledonian Road this year.

Overall Purpose

Voids - Each year, Look Ahead collects c£21m of rent and service charge from the c3,000 units of property that we own and manage. This amount represents roughly a third of Look Ahead's annual income and therefore it is essential for us to maximise occupancy rates within our properties.

This is a varied opportunity that will see you managing the completion of all void works and ensuring that all properties are let within our Corporate deadlines. Look Ahead manages approx. 1500 units on other landlord's behalf, of which there are approx. 35. You will therefore have strong organisational skills and have the ability to build rapport with our landlords. We also operate across London and the Home counties, and the successful candidate will need to familiarise themselves with our stock quickly and establish effective working relationships with the teams on the ground.

What you'll do:

To promote the concept of enabling customers to make best use of the housing options available to them including social and private lettings.
To work closely with Operational colleagues to ensure that void properties are let within Corporate timeframes.
To oversee the temporary accommodation services and private lettings service and to ensure that the appropriate standards are maintained.
To plan and co-ordinate all re-housing activity and liaise with the Void team.
To ensure all lettings are made in accordance with legislation.
To train and regularly update the training of existing, new and temporary staff, in procedures relating to void management and lettings.
To draft and present reports as requested.
To record all actions, communication requests and received documentation relating to customers promptly on the computerised system.
Undertake regular checks on the information held on the system to ensure that all records are accurately held and allocations are given the correct priority.
To support the Head of Housing in shaping the successful delivery of projects, simple and complex, ensuring good governance and methodology is adhered to throughout the project lifecycle whilst working to embed a culture of continuous improvement.
