The Finance Manager will be providing bespoke financial management capacity-building support, ensuring compliance with statutory/funder requirements, and supporting operational/strategic management and planning resources. The role holder is also expected to support HQ Finance function.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our financial hub, you will be supporting the CFO, Deputy Director of Finance and our senior leadership team to set up the Financial Centre of Excellence dedicated to supporting Black and racially Minoritised community groups.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

A. Support the CFO and Deputy Director of Finance and senior leadership team to set up the Financial Centre of Excellence dedicated to supporting Black and racially Minoritised community groups.

B. Provide bespoke financial management capacity-building support to Black and racialized organisations in 8 London boroughs, including supporting groups to:

1. Conducting financial health checks and developing and implementing action plans.

2. Provide training, and guidance to groups supported on ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory and funder requirements governing the sector, employer responsibilities training, and governance.

3. Support the development and implementation of financial strategies operational/strategic management and planning resources.

4. Provide training and guidance on risk identification and mitigation and annual reports and accounts.

5. Support the delivery of webinars/masterclasses to participants

6. Support developing effective online learning tools and platforms to cascade learning.

7. Support the delivery of a proactive finance service ‘Critical Friend’ providing financial advice, support, scrutiny, and challenge to the organisations.

8. Support groups to plan resources, assess the implications of service proposals, and provide financial modelling and analysis of service options for projects and initiatives.

9. Contribute to the provision of financial support across the Ubele hubs, in forecasting both in-year and future-year income and expenditure, ensuring these are accurate, appropriate, and supported  through activity and performance analysis.

10. Support the Deputy Finance Director as required on a range of financial and management accounting, budgetary, reconciliation, reporting, and payment tasks where relevant, for the designated  service area.

11.Support the Ubele senior leadership team and staff in the development and updating of the project organisational and annual budget to ensure that it supports the outcomes set out in our strategic plan.

About the role:

Our Complex Needs Service is seeking a Service Manager, who would like to develop their career with a sector-leading organisation. As our Service Manager, you will provide effective management of a high support accommodation service for single homeless people in Camden. Residents of the service will be faced with multiple disadvantages, mental health, substance use and dual diagnosis.

• The ability to plan, monitor and evaluate services, to ensure that they are responsive to the needs of the clients, meet the purpose they have been commissioned for and fulfil the service specification.

• Work with the Board and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to assess capacity gaps across the organisation and how best to fill them.

Do you have a passion to support people after an addiction and enable them to lead more fulfilling, purposeful lives? Do you want to raise awareness in communities about where to seek support after gambling harm and help break down the stigma around gambling addiction?

We are seeking an energetic and highly organised individual to join our team as Community Outreach Manager to manage our new REACH programme – building relationships with voluntary and community organisations to help them support others who may struggle to overcome gambling harm - working especially with hard-to-reach audiences and ethnic minority groups.

Lived experience of gambling harm (either directly or indirectly) is an advantage but not essential requirement for this role as you will be collaborating with colleagues who will contribute their lived experience insights to inform REACH activities that you project manage. But you must be passionate about making a difference and excited by the opportunity to transform lives, support people in recovery and be sensitive to their needs.

You will work hands-on to organise and facilitate delivery of a wide range of REACH activities with community organisations including workshops, lived experience events, drop-in advice sessions and social media activities - aiming to reach diverse audiences, reduce stigma and encourage wider discussion about gambling harms recovery.

Role Summary

To support the development and delivery of community investment projects that deliver successful, measurable outcomes for TCH residents and communities, often working in conjunction with other TCH teams and external partners to achieve those outcomes.

The projects will focus on our key Community Investment Strategy themes; currently: tackling poverty and inequality; embedding well-being; customer co-creation and sharing power; community activities and programmes.

The role links with others across the organisation including our internal Customer Insight and Resident Engagement teams to understand our communities and supports our wider housing teams to deliver initiatives for the benefit of our residents.

The office base would depend on applicant. The successful applicant would need to travel between the different offices when required.

Role Specific Responsibilities

• Support the development and delivery of existing and new projects, initiatives and services that meet the aims of the Community Investment Strategy.
• Ensure these projects are outcome focused, that programmes/services are responsive to residents’ needs and reflect best practice and corporate priorities and meet regulatory expectations.
• To co-ordinate Community Investment projects and activities working in conjunction with residents, the wider organisation, contractors, and community partners.
• Support the effective monitoring and evaluation of community investment projects, ensuring that monitoring returns are received in agreed timescales and are accurate and outcome focused. Produce relevant performance reports and data as required.
• To provide support for the effective brokerage, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of social value across TCH contracts.
• Use customer data and insight to support our Community Investment work and to help build links with sections of the community who are not currently accessing our services.
• Attend networking and best practice groups as required. Maintain awareness of relevant government legislation and sector best practice and use this to inform your work on local activities and initiatives.
• Support the Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) process, helping to develop and monitor project briefs, donation frameworks, and grant funding (when grant processes are open), that respond to social needs and include measurable milestones, outputs and outcomes, budget management, risk mitigation and procurement. Manage service level agreements and freelance contractors.
• In conjunction with colleagues ensure that all areas of service delivery are effectively monitored and evaluated via the application of impact assessments, key performance indicators, social value outcomes and value for money reporting.
• Contribute to the review and development of systems, processes, and services to support TCH’s customer experience and service improvement aspirations, including through learning from complaints and feedback, and implementing change.
• Support our 3rd sector charity partners in ways that help them meet our residents’ needs, including supporting them to understand need and priorities based on data and resident insight.
• In conjunction with your manager and the PR & Communications Team promote community investment and social value projects, and outcomes. The Advice Manager will take the lead on BIAS’s day-to-day advice services, managing a small team of advice specialists to ensure that we provide the highest-quality service to our clients. You will need to have strong people skills and the ability to build good working relationships with staff and clients, along with excellent organisational abilities to ensure that projects are delivered on time.

This role will also involve working with the leadership team to help identify areas for future development and support grant applications and reporting, which will give you the opportunity to have a direct impact on shaping the organisation’s future strategy and direction.

KEY WORK AREAS AND MAIN DUTIES

Staff management

• Managing a small advice team, ensuring the quality of the advice provided.
• Providing support and supervision to staff on the delivery of advice services, ensuring that appropriate advice is provided and casework deadlines are met.
• Ensuring good teamwork and lines of communication between staff, volunteers and partner agencies.
• Creating a positive working environment in which equality and diversity are promoted and staff can do their best.

Quality and service delivery

• Leading the welfare advice services, including contributing to possible future expansion.
• Maintaining a small personal caseload (approximately one day’s work per week).
• Working with the Operations Manager to ensure that BIAS maintains the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and is successful in AQS renewal.
• Leading on monitoring service delivery, recording outcomes and ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
• Managing all aspects of risk relating to advice delivery, complaints handling, safeguarding and GDPR.

Operational support

• Working with the leadership team as required on operational matters, including planning, strategy for future development and grant applications and reporting.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. This role will be based in our advice offices but there may be some options for flexible working (i.e. one or two days per week).

WHAT DOES BIAS DO?

BIAS is a local charity which has supported England’s largest Irish community in Brent for over forty-five years. We deliver our support through our welfare advice drop-in service, our Active Ageing Clubs and our Be-a-friend volunteer scheme. We raise over £1 million in extra income for the most vulnerable every year and have over 3000 attendances at our club services. BIAS has exciting plans for possible further expansion in 2024 and has a range of medium- to long-term grant funding, including from Ireland’s Emigrant Support Programme.

Location: Avonmore Library and Askew Library

Citizens Advice Hammersmith and Fulham (CAHF) is a busy, dynamic award-winning service.  We deliver a variety of projects via face to face and digital media.  Since 2012 we have delivered a volunteer led community library service at Avonmore library. 

In April 2024 we embarked on running a second community focused library at Askew Road.  To support CAHF community library delivery at both libraries, we introduced the role of Community Library Coordinator.

Purpose of the role: 

Whilst the role encompasses traditional library duties, our community library service is a hub of the local community, which provides a wide range of activities to library users of all ages across the week.

The Community Library Coordinator role oversees and develops library events with a wide range of community partners. They will promote and support library volunteer delivery.

Working with external and internal local partners such as Citizens Advice to enhance community library service offerings to the local community.

About you:

You will have strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for working in the library sector. You will have the ability to promote the library service and provide excellent customer service to a wide range of diverse library users.  You will have strong customer service and communication skills.  Library work experience, although desirable, is not essential. 

The role requires:

• good level of community awareness with experience of working with diverse community.

• interest in literacy and reading.
• ability to induct and support library volunteers’ delivery.
• ability to confidently provide digital support to library users.
• ability to oversee the library events calendar and work with new and existing partners to develop additional community focused activities.

No one day is the same and having a positive and flexible attitude is important to this role.  The role includes Saturday delivery and occasional evening delivery.

We are recruiting a Community Development Officer to engage key partners and stakeholders in the Yorkshire region tailoring support, training and education to create suicide safer communities. 

In this role you will be: 

• Identifying, developing and maintaining effective partnerships with local communities, volunteers and key partners across the region to engage them in the prevention of young suicide. 

• Proactively promoting suicide prevention including raising the profile of PAPYRUS and engaging with those personally affected by young suicide. 

• Equipping a wide range of stakeholders to enable them to create sustainable suicide safer communities through the provision of tailored support, training and education. 

• Delivering training and raising awareness of products to a variety of groups including professionals, parents, young people, volunteers and other trainers. 

• Contributing to the development and review of projects, and education and training products, in line with the Strategic Plans. 

• Contributing to and promoting campaigns, training and opportunities as outlined in the Regional and Strategic Plans. 

To be successful in this role you will have: 

• Previous experience working in a community setting, delivering information and training sessions, leading workshops or educational activities 

• A proven track record of networking and building and managing effective relationships, tailoring the approach to meet the differing needs of the audience

• Experience as a qualified ASIST Trainer or willingness to gain qualification and experience 

• Experience of using own initiative and creativity to develop a project, programme or area of work 

• The ability to travel to different locations across the Yorkshire area to attend meetings, events and deliver training. 

Salary: £29,269 per annum (NALC SCP 18) progressing by increments to £32,076 per annum (NALC SCP 23)

The Role

Fusion Maidstone is a health & wellbeing charity based in Park Wood.  We opened our doors in 2003 and set about developing programmes, activities and services to address the changing needs of the residents of Park Wood with a strong focus on addressing health inequalities.  Fusion works in the community to offer assistance in four key areas  Public Health, Food/Food Poverty, Social Inclusion, Mental Health.  Services are either delivered directly by Fusion or by a network of partner agencies.  We bring services to local people thereby removing barriers to engagement.

Park Wood Connects Project
Courtesy of the National Lottery Community Fund Fusion Maidstone are able to launch their Park Wood Connects project which is a three year engagement and support initiative co-designed with the local community to support people struggling with the combined effects of the cost-of-living crisis, the mental health crisis, and high levels of social isolation/loneliness in one of the South East’s most deprived communities.  To address the growing numbers of vulnerable local residents we propose to do two things through the Park Wood Connects project:

• Reach out better across the community to make more people aware that we and our partners are here to help.
• Make more services available locally by encouraging more people and organisations to begin delivering support locally.

About the Community Outreach Worker Role
Fusion is employing a Community Outreach Worker who has a great sense of community and customer service, enjoys working in an outreach environment and who is looking to make a positive difference to the local community.

Working closely with a second Community Outreach Worker and the Community Project Coordinator you will be performing tasks associated with community outreach including identifying and directly engaging with hard-to-reach individuals and families, providing responsive and effective support, deliver drop-in information sessions, recruit, induct and train volunteers to support the project, organise and host community engagement events throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a ‘keyworker’  for the co-ordination and delivery of individuals and families support with the assistance of the wider Fusion team.
Build a relationship with the KCC Community Wardens with a view to developing partnership working.
Recruit and induct a total of 15 volunteers from the local community to assist with the project 5 in year 1, 5 in year 2, and 5 in year 3.
Organise and deliver 4 community engagement events each year of the project.
Organise and deliver a minimum of 12 drop in surgeries each year of the project in various locations.
Assisted by the Community Project Coordinator attend regular stakeholder steering group meetings
