The Role

This is a new role which will be focused on a specific project to initially set up and support our member led Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) task group and subgroups. These task groups, with your support, will lead the direction that our EDI membership initiatives take. One of the primary core initiatives will be the delivery of a mentoring scheme for our members with an inclusivity focus.

About the Youth Endowment Fund 

We’re here to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to change things.  

In recent years, violent crime involving children has increased. This is a tragedy. Every child is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment that exists to reverse this trend. We will achieve this by finding out what works to prevent youth violence and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. We do this by funding, evaluating and then spreading the very best work on reducing youth violence across England and Wales. 

Central to this is the evaluation team.  The team is responsible for commissioning and monitoring complex and rigorous impact evaluations from experts in the field.

The Senior Evaluation Manager will play a key role in supporting the Assistant Director of Evaluation to lead elements of evaluation work. The post holder will also lead a team of two Evaluation Managers, ensuring they have the support to deliver a portfolio of evaluation projects. 

Key responsibilities 

The core of your job is to ensure that we are excellent at evaluation, so we can find out the best ways to prevent children and young people from becoming involved in violence. 

Evaluation 

Working with the Head of Evaluation the post holder will: 

• Implement the processes to assess the quality of evidence presented in funding applications and provide funding recommendations to the Grants and Evaluation Committee. 

• Shape the evaluation approach for individual grant rounds, including leading on this for a small number of rounds. 

• Provide technical expertise on evaluation to the team and lead the development of YEF’s thinking on one or more areas of evaluation. 

• Lead the delivery of YEF’s evaluation work, designing, commissioning and managing complex and large-scale evaluations. 

• Be responsible for YEF’s evaluation policies and reporting templates, ensuring they remain consistent and fit for purpose. 

• Be responsible for the ongoing development of YEF’s commissioning guidance. 

Team management 

The post holder will likely lead the recruitment, management and development of a team of Evaluation Officers and will: 

• Ensure they have the knowledge, skills and support to carry out their work effectively. 

• Provide regular feedback and coaching on written outputs. 

• Supervise and project manage the team’s evaluation work, providing quality assurance and monitoring of progress against project plans and project budgets. 

Collaborative working 

The post holder will contribute to the wider YEF team and will: 

• Be accountable to YEF’s Fund Leadership Team for the delivery of evaluations, making sure they are on time and on budget, including reporting on risks and issues. 

• Work closely with colleagues across YEF and specifically the Programme team. 

• Ensure high-quality evidence is at the heart of all YEF activity and that the evidence we produce is communicated in a clear and accessible way which will drive sustainable change. 

• Support the management of YEF’s panel of evaluators and expert panel.

The post holder may be involved in other elements of YEF's projects, working with senior colleagues to commission, scope and deliver projects. 

About you 

You are this sort of person:

• You have strong knowledge, experience and technical expertise in evaluation methodologies including the ability to critically appraise the design of a variety of different evaluation designs. 

• You have quantitative analysis skills including experience of using advanced analytical software such as R, Stata or SPSS. 

• You have significant experience in carrying out or commissioning research including designing all aspects of the research and managing external contractors.  This may be in academia, government or a related sector. 

• You have strong relationship management skills. You are comfortable working with a wide range of people, including senior academics and other research experts, children and their families, practitioners, and policy makers. You’re able to provide constructive challenge when required.

The Ripple Pond is a charity that supports adult family members of physically and/or psychologically injured British Armed Forces personnel and veterans. Many of these individuals and family members are hard to reach and often isolated.

Your role will be to ensure that more and more of the military community, professionals and other interested parties know who we are and how to access our support.

You will also help to organise our exciting programme of online talks and activities for our Members (service-users) to help ensure they are well-informed, involved and feel part of a supportive community. Making sure that Members are always involved in generating ideas and production.

This role is about;

• working with a wide range of groups and individuals to help raise awareness of the charity and to create opportunities to identify new Members (service users);

Everyday millions of older and disabled people are denied the social care they need. Most local authorities can’t meet the growing demand for care, none are confident they can meet their legal duties in the future. This affects all of us, we will all need social care at some point.

We all have a right to hold public bodies to account. But most of us cannot afford lawyers so rely on legal aid. The 77% drop in community care legal aid cases since 2010 means we have nowhere to turn. Without access to justice, our rights do not exist. The rule of law is broken.

Access Social Care provides free legal advice and information for people with social care needs, helping achieve a better quality of life. We work with communities to increase knowledge of the law and our rights. We highlight the gap left by cuts to Legal Aid and provide advice for those who can’t afford it.

About the role

This is an exciting time to join our organisation. We have a new strategy and are growing quickly including across our senior leadership team. The Minorities Community Gambling Link Worker will deliver an awareness-raising and personalised, holistic support programme for minority community groups in Lambeth experiencing gambling and gambling addiction-related harm, or those impacted by the gambling of a close family member. You will:

• Deliver an outreach programme by regularly attending community events, visiting local groups/ spaces and organisations frequented by minority community groups in Lambeth.

• Develop partnerships and deliver outreach support to primary and secondary care partners and services across Lambeth.

• Speak with minority community groups in Lambeth, either 1-2-1 or presenting to groups, to discuss the type of support available and promote the work and support of the Primary Care Gambling Service and Age UK Lambeth services.

The community engagement coordinator will work as part of a team of new community engagement service working across East, West and South London. The Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for delivering an innovative new digital marketing approach, through the innovation, creation and delivery of projects and activities which increase leads, donations and engagement for Overcoming MS charity.

 Key Responsibilities

The Digital Marketing Manager will work across several areas, including:

1. Conversion optimisation

· Increasing our donations and data capture - to enable us to continue the dialogue and create donations from a greater percentage of those who visit our website, or interact with other digital channels.

· Working with our agency partner to optimise key landing pages and signposting for conversion.

2. User journey optimisation

· Helping people find the right content based on data optimisations so that more people find what they need and understand what else the charity could offer them. Using HotJar for insights.

· Automated email journeys - Building customer journeys to support the Program pillars to build deeper relationships with people in our community.

3. Increasing reach and traffic generation

· Testing different low-cost digital reach opportunities.

· Including paid social, referral activities, calls to action across our channels, YouTube SEO and SEM. Working with an agency to optimise journeys from Google Grant, leading to clearly articulated actions (eg donations, sign-ups, click-throughs).

4. Testing to improve results continually 

· Email AB testing - Deliver AB testing to inform future email AB tests.

· Plan AB testing for email marketing projects, for the website, and other projects as needed to improve conversion rates.

5. Digital project management

· Testing new digital versions of courses and tools. Project management of website updates.

6. Campaign support

· Leading, innovating and supporting advocacy, communications and fundraising campaigns as needed to increase reach, engagement and conversions.

7. Gathering community feedback

· Continue the plan to access regular community feedback to influence Hub improvements and other digital channel improvements.

8. Supplier collaboration

· Working with our suppliers to optimise collaboration, reduce cost and increase impact.

About you

Strong digital skills

• A proven track record of managing digital products/projects/programmes which create value for end-users. 
• Strong working knowledge and experience in digital solutions.
• Experience in evaluating and improving existing digital programs.
• Significant experience working with 3rd party digital providers to create solutions that work for the target audience.
• Confident in Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
• Excellent understanding of AB testing to maximise conversion rates.
• Experience in using tools like HotJar (preferred).
• Strong analysis skills. 

Project management skills

• Excellent organisational, planning, prioritisation and time management skills with an ability to work to deadlines and change priorities when needed. 
• Expertise in using and implementing relevant project management methodologies and tools.

Community Fundraising Manager

The Mencap Community and Events Team has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, motivated and passionate fundraiser,  dedicated to raising as much funds as possible to help make the UK the best place to live for people with a learning disability to join our team as Senior Community Fundraising Manager covering England and Wales.

Covering the England and Wales the Community Fundraising Manager will be responsible for managing various income streams across the Community portfolio working closely with the wider team.

Within this role, you will achieve agreed fundraising targets through effective management, support and cultivation of both existing and new regional supporters including: individuals, groups, associations, local corporates and schools whilst maximising the current portfolio of Mencap owned products. You will research, identify and develop new community fundraising opportunities, areas of potential support and build a robust pipeline for restricted grants and corporate partners.

The role is home based. There will be travel around the areas that the role covers.

This position is a permanent, full-time role to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday. The nature of community fundraising is that there will be evening and weekend work, for which time off in lieu will be given.

Key skills and requirements (essential):

· The ability to develop, implement and monitor strategic plans, present budgets and interpret financial information

· The ability to research, assess and initiate new opportunities within the context of an overall plan

· Able to recruit, develop and train, motivate and manage individuals and teams of Volunteers to give their very best

• Co-creating accessible health resources alongside Generate staffs with lived experience of learning disability.
• Designing and delivering training, in collaboration with co-trainers who have learning disabilities.
• Promoting Generate’s health training and easy read work.
• Increasing Generate’s earned income from health training, easy read work and contract delivery.
• Delivering on all the Health Project contracts to increase the accessibility of primary care services and reduce health inequalities for people with disabilities in Wandsworth and the UK.
• Manage a team of consultants and sessional project workers, some with lived experience of learning disability and autism.

Person Specification

We recognise that not every candidate will have all these skills and experiences but are looking for somebody who can show us that they meet a high number of them.

• At least 1 year experience of coordinating or managing projects.
• Experience of website management using a content management system.
• Applied experience of creating accessible digital products and platforms.
• Working knowledge of social media, online campaigns & community engagement, creating engaging and inclusive content.
• Experience of designing and delivering engaging and informative training, including online and blended trainings.
• Knowledge about health inequalities for people with learning disabilities, and the challenges this group of people face in accessing healthcare.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues with a learning disability and neurodiverse colleagues – understanding of reasonable adjustments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to adjust communication style to different audiences, and provide accessible information.
• Experience of managing relationships with a range of external stakeholders.
• Experience of promoting a product or service and creating new business opportunities.
• Experience of using person centred approaches with people with a learning disability.
• Experience of using design tools (Canva, the Adobe suite, Final Cut Pro....)
