We work in cooperation with relevant government officials, individual lawyers and human rights defenders, as well as individual, corporate and foundation funders to further the cause of our shared goals.

 About the Role

The Africa Death Penalty Team Project Manager is responsible for coordinating Reprieve’s litigation and advocacy in Sub-Saharan Africa. At the moment, the team works on death penalty casework and abolition advocacy in Malawi, Tanzania, and Kenya. Our casework includes work on individual cases on behalf of people facing a death sentence; large-scale projects, such as the Kenya resentencing project, wherein we support stakeholders to ensure 5,000+ people are able to access a chance at reducing their sentence from death via a new sentence hearing; and  long-term regional projects, such as our strategic litigation before the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights, which challenges the mandatory death penalty, torture, and other associated violations of the African Charter.

Regional context

 There is a trend toward the abolition of the death penalty in Africa. In recent years, countries across the continent have taken the decision to limit the application of the death penalty or to abolish it altogether. This has been seen as a turning away from old laws and systems that were imposed by former colonial governments, which obstructed alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, and were designed to remove discretion from the local judiciary. African lawyers and judges are now at the forefront of a wave of progressive jurisprudence on issues related to the death penalty including methods of executions, torture, sentencing practice, conditions of confinement, and intersections of gender, disability, and socioeconomic status with criminal justice. This jurisprudence has become a model for the international movement to limit the death penalty, and is being held up as best practice in jurisdictions around the world.

Contract and location

This is a full-time, permanent role based in Reprieve’s London office. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model with staff working part of the week from home and part of the week from the office. Applicants must have the current right to work in the UK, which will be checked prior to interview.

Your presence is important during core office hours, whether remotely or in the office. You will also be available outside of office hours in the event of an emergency, for example case developments that require urgent action. This is a role that may require travel. 

The annual salary is £50,571 full-time per annum, less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Development and Outreach Officer to play a key role in mobilising resources, expanding the network, and raising awareness about child marriage globally. The Development and Outreach Officer will work within the Development and Outreach Team to develop and implement fundraising strategies, cultivate donor relationships, lead the development of grant proposals and reporting processes, and support with outreach events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Proposal development, grant management and reporting

Outreach events

Each Youth Mentoring Practitioner’s primary purpose is to develop and deliver quality and safe 1-2-1 and small group personalised support for young people.

· Are comfortable working on their own or in a team.

· Can enable us to improve our service and opportunities for young people.

As the Associate Director of Legacy Giving, you will design, lead and implement a compelling legacy strategy, with associated giving propositions, to facilitate skilful and sensitive conversations around estate planning and foster a culture of giving to UCL in this way. About you

You will be a confident leader with strategic and critical thinking skills, and be the institutional champion of legacy giving at UCL. You will ideally bring experience from the charity or higher education sector, of delivering innovative and effective campaigns, and both income and expenditure budget management. We are looking for someone who has proven that they can design and launch this type of programme, in collaboration with the leaders of other fundraising income streams, and who has a deep understanding of best practice in this arena. You will be a strategic relationship builder and sophisticated communicator, and bring proven experience of having worked across an organisation to bring stakeholders along with you to ensure the success of new initiatives. Key to your success in this role will be your curiosity and ability to create change while demonstrating diplomacy and sound judgement.

Job Title: Volunteer Support Officer

Salary: £25,200 FTE

To achieve its ambitious goal, BRAC is seeking partnerships with like-minded organisations and allies across Europe. It has an ambitious target to grow its funding from the European market to GBP 100 million over the next 24 months. To achieve its ambition BRAC is building a specialised team of partnerships specialist to be based across key European markets i.e. Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, UK and Switzerland.

The Foundations Officer will work as part of the Partnerships team and focus on delivering income targets from trusts, foundations and corporates. The Foundations Officer plays a pivotal role in advancing BRAC’s mission by stewarding partnerships with philanthropic and corporate foundations and creating new business opportunities to deliver on BRAC’s mission.

We are now looking for a Member Engagement Officer to assist a lively and talented team with all areas of Remember a Charity’s membership administration, in addition to supporting the marketing and partnerships workstreams.

This is a unique opportunity not only to help grow charitable giving, but to also work closely with those member charities (close to 200) who rely on gifts in Wills to continue their vital work.

Key Accountabilities

· To maintain and update records on Remember A Charity’s CRM database and E-Comms mailing lists for charities, legal supporters and partner organisations. To run CRM reports as required.

· To assist with the onboarding of new joiner charities and legal sector supporters.

· To use the website content management system (CMS) to build member charity and legal sector supporter online profiles; and to make any amends to these profiles and other website pages as required.

· To manage the central In-Box and respond to all enquiries or signpost to the relevant team member.

· To co-ordinate the programme of rolling annual membership renewal and new-joiner invoicing, including credit control of all invoices.

· To prepare monthly engagement report  collating key activity metrics for members and legal sector supporters

· To assist with online and in person member, prospect and legal sector supporter events, including creating registration links, managing attendee information on the CRM and other events preparation and follow-up required.

· Representing Remember A Charity at key charity and legal sector exhibitions when required.

· To capture minutes from all key meetings.

· Diary management when required.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

Experience & Skills

· Computer Literacy, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and databases;

· Knowledge of charities or membership organisations;

· Experience working in a customer facing environment or dealing with a wide range of stakeholders.
