About this role: This is an exciting opportunity to join Rotherham United Community Trust’s Executive Team and lead the ‘Strengthen and Grow’ theme within the Trust’s United for Change strategy. The Director of Development will drive sustainable growth by strengthening programmes, increasing income, developing strategic partnerships and embedding a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation. Duties and Responsibilities

1. Programmes and Interventions

• Support department leads and ensure effective delivery of national/regional and local programmes.

• Develop a business plan with KPIs for year-on-year income growth.
• Innovate and refine fundraising approaches (donors, foundations, corporates, digital).

3. Operational Management

• Manage financial and physical resources, including budgeting.

The Opportunity

This is a new and significant appointment for SWT UK. We are looking for a Director of Development to develop and lead our UK fundraising strategy – taking ownership of income generation across all streams, donor communications and supporter stewardship, and managing a team of three talented fundraising professionals.

Our individual supporter base is large globally – growing in UK – loyal and deeply engaged: many give through our elephant adoption programme, which connects them directly with named animals in our care. We are now ready to build on this engaged supporter base and develop it into a structured individual giving programme – with mid-level giving pathways, major donor cultivation, systematic stewardship and deeper philanthropic relationships. That is the central challenge and opportunity of this role.

We also have active corporate and trust relationships, a legacy programme in development, and real potential to grow income from European and international funders. The Director of Development will take ownership of all of this – hands on and strategic in equal measure.

What You Will Do

• Develop and implement a new UK fundraising strategy, establishing clear priorities, income targets and programmes that will drive growth through to 2030 and beyond
• Develop and implement a UK individual giving programme – building on our adoption base to create structured giving journeys, mid-level and major donor cultivation, and meaningful stewardship
• Manage the UK fundraising budget, set and monitor income targets across all streams, and report regularly to the Executive Director on performance and ROI
• Take day-to-day ownership of corporate and trust relationships, writing reports, proposals and partner communications
• Build a major donor programme from the ground up, identifying and cultivating high-value individual prospects
• Develop legacy marketing activity, working alongside our existing legacy administrator and Freewill partnership
• Manage and inspire a team of three: Communications and Fundraising Manager, Retail Manager and Supporter Care Officer, and Fundraising Support Officer
• Oversee the donor database (Donorfy), ensuring data quality and insight-driven decision making
• Explore opportunities to grow income from European and international donors

About You

We are looking for a fundraiser who loves the craft – someone who is energised by building relationships, writing a compelling proposal, developing a giving programme from scratch, and ensuring every supporter feels genuinely valued. This is a hands-on role as much as a leadership one, and the right person will be comfortable doing both.

• Proven track record in fundraising, with demonstrable success securing income from individuals, trusts or corporates – including five-figure gifts and above
• Experience developing individual giving programmes, including mid-level or major donor cultivation
• A hands-on practitioner – comfortable writing proposals, reports and donor communications yourself
• Experience managing a small fundraising team with warmth, clarity and accountability
• Strong relationship management and stewardship skills
• Experience working with a donor CRM and using data to inform fundraising decisions
• Comfortable in a building role – excited by developing programmes that don't yet exist
• Experience managing fundraising budgets and producing income forecasts and performance reports.

We're looking for a Community Engagement Coordinator to join UNJUST and support the development and delivery of community engagement activities that amplify lived experience, build trust, raise awareness and contribute to our research, policy and advocacy aims.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you'll build and maintain relationships with community groups, grassroots organisations and individuals with lived experience of the criminal justice system. This is an exciting opportunity for a new Chief Executive Officer to lead our well-respected rare disease patient organisation through the next phase of growth and impact, in particular focussing on financial sustainability and influencing health policy for these rare diseases.These sit alongside the other grass-roots duties of a small charity CEO, including working with our Medical Advisory Team to develop new and maintain existing patient education resources, and overseeing our support services including volunteers and a professional psychological counselling service. Reporting to and working with the Board of Trustees, the CEO will be responsible for delivering our 2027-2030 Strategic Plan, ensuring robust governance, and driving forward our mission to improve the lives of people affected by rare diseases.The CEO manages the part-time Executive Administrator and works with up to 30 current volunteers (patients, carers, and health professionals) to deliver services with impact.This role includes occasional weekend work, as well as approximately 15 days travel (national and international) per year to represent and advocate for the charities’ beneficiaries. 

Job purpose

To grow NEYDL's earned income across two distinct strands: securing commissioned services and contracts with local authorities and other organisations in the North East; and developing a national market for NEYDL's training products and DigiDAD platform, enabling professionals and organisations across the UK to improve the support available to young dads in their communities.

Hours - Full-time (35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm), with occasional evening and weekend working expected to meet the needs of the charity. Four days per week considered for the right candidate.

Location - Hybrid, home-based with regular travel to Gateshead and nationally

Key responsibilities

Income generation and business development

•Identify and develop opportunities to secure commissioned services and contracts with local authorities, NHS bodies, family hubs, children’s services, early help teams and voluntary sector organisations

•Lead on the sale of NEYDL’s training products to professional audiences nationally, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to close

•Where relevant to other business development activity, make professionals aware of DigiDAD as a free resource and refer interested contacts to the DigiDAD Engagement Officer for onboarding and follow-up 

•Develop and maintain a BD pipeline, setting annual targets in conjunction with the CEO and reporting progress to the board

•Identify new markets, audiences and partnership opportunities and make evidence-based recommendations to the CEO on where to focus BD effort.

Proposals, tenders and bids

•Lead on the development of proposals, tenders and commissioned service bids, working closely with the CEO and programme team to develop compelling cases

•Maintain awareness of relevant commissioning frameworks, procurement processes and funding opportunities that align with NEYDL’s offer

•Ensure all proposals and tenders accurately reflect NEYDL’s costs and margins and are consistent with the organisation’s financial requirements

Relationships and profile

•Build and manage relationships with commissioners, buyers, strategic partners and sector networks nationally

•Represent NEYDL at sector events, conferences and networks, raising our profile with the professional audiences we want to reach

Targets 

Year 1 milestones 

The following milestones have been agreed with our primary Year 1 funder and represent the BDM's near-term priorities:

By six months:

• Approaches made to at least 25 contacts, including commissioners in all Family Hub areas in the North East and warm VCSE collaborators

By twelve months:

• Marketing and outreach completed with at least 100 contacts (warm and cold)
• Training delivered at least 10 times
• Indicative conversion targets achieved: approximately 3% of cold contacts and 25% of warm contacts progressing to a training booking (these are assumptions to be tested and refined through year one)
• Evaluation and review of year one learning completed; year two targets developed

Longer-term targets (to April 2029)

The following targets relate to the areas of work this role will contribute to, alongside the DigiDAD Programme Manager and wider team:

• Professionals trained through NEYDL's training products: 50 by April 2027; 350 annually by April 2029
• New professional DigiDAD registrations: 750 by April 2027; 1,400 annually by April 2029
• New young dad DigiDAD registrations: 510 by April 2027; 1,000 annually by April 2029

The Business Development Manager will play a central role in building the relationships and income pipeline that drives the training targets. DigiDAD registration growth is led by the DigiDAD Engagement Officer and wider team, with the Business Development Manager contributing through referrals identified in the course of other work.

This is a one-year fixed-term opportunity, with the possibility of extension, and can be offered on either a four- or five-day-per-week basis. The role is fully remote and home-based, with occasional national travel required for team meetings and other events, approximately five times per year.

We are looking for an experienced Executive Assistant or Personal Assistant who has previously supported a Director or CEO and is confident managing complex diaries, meetings, travel and sensitive information with a high degree of discretion. You will bring excellent organisational and coordination skills, outstanding written and verbal communication, and the ability to build strong relationships with people at all levels. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft 365, Excel, Word and PowerPoint, are essential, alongside experience of working with CRM or data management systems and consolidating information from multiple sources. You will be highly detail-oriented, methodical and accurate, while also being proactive, adaptable and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment. South East London Community Energy (SELCE) is looking for a Community Renewable Energy Project Developer to help deliver one of London's most exciting community-owned renewable energy programmes.

Working alongside our experienced Renewable Energy Projects Manager and CEO, you will develop community-owned solar projects from initial feasibility through to installation. As your experience grows, you will progressively take ownership of your own projects, developing technical, commercial and stakeholder management skills. Unlike many commercial renewable energy roles, this position provides exposure to the complete project lifecycle, combining technical design, commercial analysis, stakeholder engagement, funding development, planning, procurement and project delivery.

You'll work with schools, charities, leisure centres, faith organisations and businesses, helping them reduce energy costs and carbon emissions while generating long-term income that funds action on fuel poverty.

We're looking for someone who already has a solid grounding in commercial solar and wants to expand their skills across the full project development lifecycle while making a tangible difference to local communities.

You will have experience of:

• Planning, delivering, and evaluating high-quality learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, supporting children’s individual development, curiosity, and wellbeing.
