We are seeking a Community Development Officer to lead a major in-progress project improving recognition, support, and care for people with smell and taste disorders at a local level across England.
This three-year, volunteer-led programme, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund has achieved significant success in its first eighteen months. We are now recruiting a new postholder to take this strong foundation forward through the next phase of delivery.
Over the past eighteen months, we have recruited and established a thriving network of volunteers and local groups across England. This momentum is expected to continue. The Community Development Officer will work closely with existing volunteers and groups, primarily remotely, while also attending in-person events and meetings in different parts of England as needed.
The postholder will lead the ongoing recruitment, training, and support of volunteer groups, working with them to identify opportunities for local outreach and engagement. Together, you will ensure that more people affected by smell and taste disorders access the information, support, and recognition they need, while continuing to raise awareness of these often-unrecognised sensory impairments.
Our volunteer groups bring together people with lived experience alongside experts from the food, beverage and fragrance sectors, and other relevant fields.
We are looking for a motivated, forward-thinking individual with experience in leading and inspiring others. You will bring energy, creativity, and excellent communication skills to drive the project forward and help build an innovative, sustainable programme of volunteer-led activity, supporting our volunteers to influence change within their communities.
You will empower volunteers to play an active role in transforming public understanding of how essential smell and taste are to our lives, whether they are running peer support groups, organising local events, delivering talks in community settings, or representing the charity at information days.

Support those who Care
This is an exciting opportunity to join our service supporting Carers across City of London to improve their health and wellbeing, and access support that meets their needs. We are working with Carers from a range of cultures, and it would be an advantage to speak Bengali.
The team work holistically with Carers to understand their individual circumstances and level of need. You’ll carry out home visits and community-based meetings, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Carers, families, and professionals. You will also support Carers to complete written forms and applications, draft letters, and advocate with third parties.
You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. You will also support the development of escalation plans so that Carers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances that would impact negatively on ability to care.
Together with colleagues, you will plan and deliver the service’s activity package, including coffee mornings, drop-in sessions, activities, online and face to face groups, and peer support forums. There will also be opportunities to promote the service by attending meetings and forums, and to deliver training sessions to professionals and community organisations so that they have the skills to identify Carers.
Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector.
This is a full-time position, and you should be an excellent communicator and able to motivate and empower others. You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services.

Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable adults during critical moments in their care journey? As a Hospital Care Navigator, you’ll be a vital part of ensuring patients leave the hospital safely and confidently, with the right support in place.
In this rewarding role, you’ll be the single point of contact for adult patients preparing for discharge from the hospital. You’ll work closely with the Adult Social Care team, health professionals, hospital practitioners, and community services to:
- Identify needs and barriers to safe discharge
- Achieve safe and timely patient discharge
- Coordinate outpatient appointments and follow-up services
- Provide clear, compassionate advice and support to patients and their families
- Ensure patients understand their discharge plan every step of the way.
You’ll meet with patients, their families, friends, or carers to assess ongoing needs, ensuring a safe plan is in place for their return home. This could include ensuring that medication is arranged from the hospital pharmacy, someone is at home to greet them, food and heating are available, and the condition of the home is safe to return to. You may be required to liaise with Adult Social Care and other home providers to coordinate home support. You’ll follow up on calls or visits to ensure the patient is managing well at home. By providing the proper support, patients can be discharged sooner, and the risk of readmission is significantly reduced.
We’re seeking someone who:
- Has experience working with vulnerable adults in social care, healthcare, or the community/voluntary sector
- Communicates with empathy and confidence across different teams at different levels, and with patients
- Is highly organised, with excellent time management skills
- Has awareness and respect for cultural differences
- (Bonus) Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting.
The role is based at our Southwark office, and you will be required to travel to hospitals and across the City of London, as well as to Tower Hamlets, Camden, Hackney, and Southwark.

Uniting Staffordshire Against Hate provides information, advice, guidance and practical and emotional support to victims of hate crime and hate incidents to help them cope and recover from their experience and exercise their rights under the Victims Code. We also work to raise awareness and encourage reporting of hate crime across Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire.
The role of a Training and Community Engagement Officer is an exciting and diverse one. You will be responsible for engaging with communities, including those most at risk of or directly impacted by hate crime, to improve awareness and understanding of hate crime, how to report it and how to access our specialist support service. You will do this in a variety of ways including by delivering awareness raising sessions and activities and attending events. You will also provide initial information, advice and guidance to victims of hate in the community and facilitate referrals into our specialist support service. You will be responsible for the development of meaningful and trusted relationships between communities and the service, so that the people who need our support know how to and are confident to access it. You will also be responsible for delivering our awareness raising training to professionals and communities.

World Jewish Relief created the Specialist Training and Employment Programme (STEP) for refugees in 2016 and today we are the largest provider of specialist employment support to people who have experienced forced migration in the UK. STEP aims to improve integration for refugees and people who have experienced forced migration support though a targeted employment programme that addresses the complex barriers they face in preparing for, and ultimately finding, work in the UK. We support all people who have experienced forced migration regardless of their proximity to the labour market, to develop the skills and access the opportunities they need to secure sustainable and meaningful employment.
We run STEP online and in person programmes across the UK. Our work now includes specific programming for women refugees, Afghan nationals, Ukrainians and those who have come through the asylum system.
We have expanded our work to deliver (in partnership with the British Council) an English Language and Employment Support Programme for up to 4,000 Ukrainians and Hong Kong BNO status/visa holder (50% of each community. The programmes provide advice and signposting to relevant services to mitigate against any potential obstacle to participation – this includes access to tech and statutory childcare.
The Specialist Training and Employment Programme (STEP) supports individuals who have experienced forced migration to rebuild their lives and access meaningful employment. We know that to succeed, participants need more than just training and job search support. They need to feel connected, informed, and welcomed into the communities they live in.
Community Leads play a key role in helping promote the programme to the Hong Kong BN(O) community. We have one Community Lead based in the North West and are looking for a second in London and the South East. Working remotely and across regions, the Community Leads work in partnership to deliver community engagement and outreach activities, help participants understand and access local services, and ensure that support is culturally appropriate and inclusive.
The Community Leads also help build partnerships with local groups, promote volunteering, and run events that support social connection and reduce isolation. They will contribute to our social value commitments and play a crucial part in shaping how the STEP programme responds to local needs and participant feedback.
About you
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Proven experience in community engagement, outreach or partnership work
- Understanding of the issues and challenges faced by people who have experienced forced displacement accessing employment and of the challenges faced by people who are resettling in a new country and community
- Experience of delivering and supporting events, webinars or community activities
- Experience producing accessible, culturally sensitive written materials or communications
- Experience working with or within community organisations or VCSEs
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Confident writing skills (newsletters, social content or short reports)
- Proficiency in Cantonese to support webinar delivery and community engagement

The Royal College of Radiologists are looking for a Learning Programmes Development Manager to lead the design, development, Go To Market planning and launch of new short courses. In this role you’ll drive horizon scanning and ideation, lead cross-functional teams, and shape our portfolio to meet both educational and commercial goals.
RCR Learning supports the professional development of clinical radiologists and oncologists throughout their careers. We design and deliver innovative learning programmes that respond to the real challenges of clinical practice. Our portfolio includes in-person, live online and blended courses alongside lecture series and conferences and we’re ambitious to grow.
In this is strategic, hands-on role you’ll shape our portfolio, drive innovation, and deliver high-impact education that improves patient care.
What you’ll do:
- Own and manage the new product development (NPD) process for live and blended learning programmes.
- Lead the end-to-end design, development and pilot delivery of CPD courses and other learning programmes.
- Lead go to market (GTM) planning and execution for new and re-launched learning programmes to achieve RCR Learning’s commercial targets.
- Plan, undertake and synthesise market research and user testing activities to ensure new products are innovative, meet market demand and are financially viable.
- Lead reviews and redevelopment of existing short courses, ensuring products evolve to meet learners’ needs and market changes.
What you’ll need:
- Proven success in developing programmes which blend educational rigour with industry/market relevance.
- Strong experience in learning design, product development and GTM planning.
- Commercial acumen and a user-focused mindset.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Some of the things you would be responsible for as a Community Manager:
- Responsible for the admission welcome including assess new referrals, interviewing potential Companions, welfare and care of Companions, their integration into the Emmaus Community and the wider community at large, developing a sense of extended family.
- Organising and delivering Companion workshops and training sessions to promote ongoing engagement with the Emmaus ethos, while identifying and supporting individual learning and development needs.
- Lead and implement a culture which provides confidentiality, promotes professional boundaries, protects data, and safeguards Companions, Volunteers and staff.
- To manage support relating to Companion’s needs regarding their daily living requirements, physical and mental health, safety and personal development.
- To assist and encourage Companions to move into independent accommodation where appropriate
- Ensure that effective Safeguarding systems are in place and maintained, acting as the organisation’s Designated Safeguarding Person, with delegated responsibility for policy development, implementation, and reporting.
- Working in partnership with the Business Manager, facilitate, encourage, and support companion engagement and training within the social enterprises to ensure they are viable businesses.
- Assist the Multi Site Property and Facilities Manager in the upkeep and maintenance of the Community, to ensure that it provides a pleasant and comfortable home for the Companions, whilst adhering to health and safety requirements.
