About the Role

This exciting and varied role will kick-start Bite Back's work in Scotland. Please note this is a remote role but the postholder must be based in Scotland. Suiting a self-starter, this new role will lead our schools and local authority programme work in Scotland, whilst also seeking opportunities for young people to influence national food system policy in Scotland.

Responsibilities

The Senior Programmes & Policy Manager is responsible for:

Programme Development and Delivery

● Launching our two popular, fully funded, social action programmes in Scotland: Bite Back in Schools and Shape Your Streets; working with and visiting schools and local authorities across Scotland

● Supporting school pupils and communities to drive improvements to their local food environments and school food environments

● Helping facilitate youth-led events, workshops, and campaigns focused on food system change

● Working with our Scottish partners and building strong working relationships with participating schools, local authorities and other stakeholders

● Supporting with the monitoring, reporting and evaluation of these two programmes Youth Engagement and Voice

● Seeking out meaningful opportunities for young people to engage with and influence decision-makers in Scotland

● Ensuring youth voice is embedded across all programmes and policy work

Policy and Advocacy

● Actively seeking out opportunities to champion Scottish policy developments in health, education, and food systems

● Working closely with other organisations via established coalitions and more informal coordination around key issues, working collaboratively with values-aligned organisations to achieve our goals

● Developing briefings, consultation responses, and policy proposals, ensuring they are evidence-based and amplify youth perspectives

● Translating young people’s insights into campaign messaging for policymakers and distil policy detail into key points for young people to engage with and campaign on

● Working with the Senior Public Affairs Manager to conduct stakeholder mapping and build a network of supportive Scottish MPs and MSPs

● Ensuring the Bite Back staff team is kept up to date on the Scottish policy and public affairs context

The Barnsley Street Project is a pilot service funded by NHS money following a bid by East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT). The service comprises of Look Ahead staff, ELFT staff, and Tower Hamlets Mental Health VCSE Alliance, formed of 17 local VCSE organisations. The Barnsley Street Project operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support for people in the catchment area of one primary care network in Bethnal Green, Tower Hamlets. It provides a variety of psychosocial and clinical interventions, including the provision of 6 Hospitality Beds for short term support and intervention.

Support Workers within the Barnsley Street Project will be expected to support individuals requiring support from the local community that walk in to the service and those staying in our hospitality beds. This support may include providing tailored and co-produced practical, emotional, trauma-informed support to individuals with a variety of challenges relating to their mental health. This may include the management of symptoms, social support, navigating benefits and welfare systems, practical skills and signposting to specialist services in the local authority for intensive or specific support as required.

The shift pattern for this role involves two 13-hour shifts per week (07:30-20:30), including Wednesdays.

• NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent with some or equivalent sector work experience

• Experience working in a mental health setting or service.

The Hammersmith and Fulham Supported Pathway are recruiting for a Support Worker at The Old Theatre; a 12-bed female-only very high support needs hostel based in Hammersmith.

In this role, you will be supporting our clients on their road to recovery in a psychologically informed environment; aiding clients to gain necessary skills to move on from our services and into suitable accommodation. You will work with a caseload of clients, aiding them to gain necessary skills to maintain independence in the community. The role is focused on supporting residents around their strengths and aspirations for the future.

• Provide practical and personal support to clients in an approachable, caring and person centred way.

Working pattern: full-time (36.25 hours per week) 

It is essential that you live within the Thames Valley region, or close enough to commute 

Working location: mostly remote work with some travel required. You will deliver a face-to-face service to clients in their own home or safe meeting place across the Thames Valley area as well as providing support by phone, email or other means to suit the service user. We take a person-centred approach so the amount of travel will vary depending on your caseload at the time. You’re in control of your own diary. 

Why this role is important: Every 20 minutes, someone is killed or seriously injured on UK roads. For families affected, the emotional and practical challenges are immense. As a Caseworker, you will provide trauma-informed care to individuals and families suffering from the sudden bereavement or life-altering injury of a loved one. Working mostly remotely, with some home visits to service users, you’ll offer vital emotional and practical support—including helping them access therapeutic resources, financial assistance, and guidance through the complexities of medical and legal processes.

Who we're looking for 

Full training will be provided under the guidance of our dedicated Training Officer. We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to join our Housing Services team. You’ll provide floating support to people with mental health and other complex needs, helping them sustain tenancies, improve their wellbeing, and build independence in the community.

You will:

• Deliver high-quality tenancy sustainment and floating support
• Manage a recovery-focused caseload with clear support plans
• Build warm, trusting relationships with service users within professional boundaries
• Support clients to improve life skills, wellbeing, and independence
• Work in partnership with statutory and voluntary services
• Monitor wellbeing and raise any safeguarding concerns
• Provide move-on support, including resettlement planning and access to housing options
• Promote service user involvement and support access to meaningful activity
• Help tenants manage finances, benefits, and budgeting
• Contribute to monitoring reports and service development
• Work as part of a collaborative team across services

• Experienced in supporting vulnerable adults, ideally in mental health or housing

Key Responsibilities:

New Internationalist is seeking an experienced, proactive, creative, and strategic Marketing Manager to lead our income growth efforts during a critical stage in our organisation’s growth and development. You will be responsible for delivering a bold, data-informed marketing strategy designed to increase UK and international magazine subscriptions in print and digital, launch a new membership product, and drive retention across all income channels.

• Campaign Development & Delivery: Plan and execute marketing and sales campaigns across multiple channels (email, social, web, events) to meet set acquisition and retention targets
• Retention and Customer Experience: Work closely with internal teams to improve retention rates and maximise the impact of customer journey touch points.
• Outreach and profile raising: Identify and target new audiences for both subscriptions and news-stand sales, creating a strategy to convert them to subscribers and regular buyers.
• Product Development: Lead the development and launch of a new membership product including stakeholder consultation, light market research, A/B testing, and pricing refinement.
• Community Engagement: Activate and upsell existing subscribers and supporters through tailored messaging, events, and cross-channel promotions.
• Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with internal teams to gather ideas, content, and assets. Coordinate and project-manage campaign delivery organisation-wide.

• Analysis & Reporting: Monitor and report on campaign performance, acquisition costs, and ROI to inform real-time adjustments and strategic planning.

The Marketing Manager will become a member of the NI Co-operative and will be appointed as a Director of New Internationalist Publications Ltd (NIP - the company that runs NI’s day-to-day business in a co-operative fashion), following a period of probation of 6 months.

All co-operative members are directly responsible to the NI co-operative and play an integral part in its business. They report to their teams on general work matters.

Co-operative responsibilities, include:

• Attending all Co-op meetings and sharing the tasks of chairing and minute-taking.
• Being a member of other Co-operative specialist groups.
• Taking an active role in the running of the business to ensure that it operates to meet its mission and financial responsibilities.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Proven success in marketing, membership, or digital campaigns that increased revenue
• Experience of both target-based delivery and project management
• Strong copywriting and audience engagement skills

• Knowledge of CMS, CRM systems and email marketing tools

Livingstone House is a 24 hour staffed 92 bed mix gender hostel, which provides short term supported housing for single homeless vulnerable people with Low to Medium support needs. Look ahead provides the support function and Riverside provides the housing management and night concierge. The Service provides on average 5 hours of weekly support to customers who reside in the hostel with the aim to provide them with the tools to move on within the community and live independently. On occasions, we may need support within our scattered sites based in Brent.

The Shift pattern of this role consist: 8am -4pm and 1.30pm - 9pm. Over a 7 day rota with 2 days off with weekend working

What you'll do:
- To provide support to peers and management, being flexible and responsive and help bespoke support for each customer's abilities and aspirations
- To implement the principles of personalisation, as part of a local service plan.
- To help support your colleagues to maximise the customers' independence.
- To motivate customers to access educational and training opportunities and to integrate fully in the community
- To support up to 14 customers to sustain their tenancies
- To promote customer involvement in all aspects of your work
- To take on a project that will help assist the service move forward
