Orphanages don’t protect children, they harm them. Put simply: the last thing an orphanage can provide is the first thing a child needs - someone to love them. Science shows what we all know that the bond between a child and their family is vital for their development. Decades of evidence proves that orphanages harm children, subjecting them to high levels of abuse, as well as extreme neglect. Children always belong in families. They need protection, encouragement, play, laughter and love. They need somewhere to call home and someone to love them. You can help us make this a reality for children.

Salary: £35,000 to £39,000 per annum, including any London weighting if applicable.
Location: Remote working with quarterly travel to the London or Salisbury office for meetings, or office based with flexible and home-working options for part of the week.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week.

Dr Jenner’s House, The Chantry, is a site of profound global historical significance, recognized as the birthplace of vaccination. The Opportunity

The Jenner Trust is seeking a dynamic and experienced Development Manager to join our team during a pivotal phase of growth and development, offering a unique opportunity to shape the future of a globally significant heritage site.

Working collaboratively in a small team with the Museum Director, Chairman, and Trustees, you will be instrumental in driving our fundraising efforts, securing vital income, and building sustainable relationships that will ensure the long-term preservation and educational outreach of Dr Jenner’s House. A key focus will be on developing and implementing a robust capital fundraising strategy and cultivating major grant giving organisations and individual donors.

This role is funded for 18 months through the NLHF and is critical to achieving our ambitious longer-term goals, leading up to the international celebrations around the 50th anniversary of smallpox eradication in 2030 and beyond. Although there will be a requirement to be present in the Museum at certain times, we are open to discussions on hybrid or flexible working arrangements for this post.

Key Responsibilities

As our Development Manager, you will:

Strategy & Leadership:

• Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing refinement of the museum’s comprehensive Fundraising Strategy, establishing clear action plans, KPIs, and targets.
• Establish and facilitate a Fundraising Leadership Group comprising Trustees, staff, volunteers, and external consultants to leverage expertise and resources for fundraising activities.
• Ensure the Fundraising Strategy incorporates ongoing work with the National Lottery Heritage Fund, particularly for the restoration of the Temple of Vaccinia and The Chantry.

Donor Cultivation & Stewardship:

• Develop and nurture long-term relationships with new and existing individual donors, high-net-worth individuals, corporates, and foundations to build a robust pipeline of future support.
• Drive a proactive stewardship programme for all potential and existing donors, ensuring exceptional donor care and fostering sustained engagement.
• Support the development and delivery of the museum’s patron schemes in close collaboration with the Chairman of the Trustees.

Income Generation & Grant Management:

• Identify and review new avenues for potential capital and revenue grant funding opportunities (unrestricted and restricted).
• Lead and coordinate compelling grant funding applications to a diverse range of potential funding bodies, including NGOs, Trusts, Foundations, philanthropists, and local authorities.
• Inspire new and existing supporters to join the museum’s membership and/or donor schemes, significantly increasing the museum’s income (both revenue and capital) to meet agreed targets.
• Ensure grant-funded projects are appropriately managed, and all requisite monitoring and evaluation reports are submitted to funding bodies on time.

Communications & Engagement:

• Produce engaging copy and content for newsletters and assist with external communications, including social media, press releases, and other PR and marketing opportunities, to promote fundraising initiatives.
• Organise and manage fundraising and donor cultivation events, ranging from low-level individual giving activities to major high-level events, especially plans for the 50th anniversary of the eradication of smallpox in 2030.

With such a small staff team we are looking for a candidate who is able to work collaboratively and to support other staff and Trustees in securing the future for the Trust.

Skills and Experience

We are seeking a part-time, motivated and organised Income Generation Manger to support our fundraising efforts and help grow our income. The Individual Giving & Community Fundraising Manager will have an exciting opportunity to grow World Child Cancer’s individual giving. They will also lead on creating a donor experience that will ensure people can engage with us in lots of different ways, from a lottery or regular support, legacies, community fundraising and events (including the London Marathon).

The post holder will be responsible for:

• Managing and growing individual giving.
• Recruiting and stewarding individual supporters through existing channels.

As Advice Manager, you’ll take a strategic lead on developing our advice service to ensure it is accessible and high-quality, and also actively challenge the root causes of inequality. About the role:

This role is based in Ashford, Kent and is offered on a hybrid basis, working from home, the office and also requires regular travel travel across Kent and Medway.

Summary of the role:

The Global Programmes Manager provides supervision and management support to Muslim Aid Country Offices and implementing partners ensuring the efficient and effective implementation of high-quality delivery of projects and programmes in line with organizational strategy, in compliance with donor expectations, governmental and international standards.

The role is responsible for technical and management advice and support to ensure Muslim Aid Country Offices and partners are implementing, monitoring and evaluating programme activities in compliance with Muslim Aid’s strategy and budget as well as recognised international standards.

In addition, other key responsibilities include building and expanding strategic partnerships, with donors and other development partners to increase the size, scope and quality of programmes implemented by the Country Offices to reach the poorest, marginalised and underserved populations. Regular travel will be required.

About the Role:

1. Implement our strategy by supporting Country Offices and partner organisations in programme development and delivery, and in impact measurement.
2. Support Country Offices (including affiliates) to reinforce our mission, vision, values and direction through clear and articulate communications.
3. Provide technical support in organisational development for the Country Offices, ensuring appropriate technical and management skills exist to effectively implement programmes and showing improvements over time in our organisational health checks.
4. Work closely with Country Offices and partners to strengthen our due diligence and compliance procedures and ensure their effective use in practice.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. Educated to degree level standard in international development or similar related field
2. Demonstrated experience in international development management including senior management and distance management.

4. Knowledge of SPHERE, CHS and DEC Accountability Framework priorities and other humanitarian/development
5. Excellent project management and facilitation skills.

The Trusts & Foundations Coordinator role is within the Trusts & Foundations team in CAFOD’s Integrated Funding and Business Innovation section. The post-holder will report to an International Programme Funding Officer Trusts & Foundations, (IPFOTF) and works closely with Trusts & Foundations and Institutional Fundraisers, the Major Gifts and Philanthropy team, other Fundraising & Participation teams and International Programme teams, in order to secure grants under £100,000 from Trusts & Foundations, Religious Orders and Catholic Associations. Key Responsibilities 

Relationship management and cultivation  

• Responsibility for stewardship and development of a portfolio of mainstream grant-making trusts, personal/family trusts, Catholic/Christian trusts and Catholic religious orders and associations.

• Responsibility to re-engage lapsed trusts. 

• Work with the IPFOTF to develop appropriate strategies for cultivation, donation uplift, and approaches to prospective trusts and religious orders. 

• Prepare well-researched funding applications/proposals and produce timely reports. 

• Ensure all communications are appropriate to the needs of the funder. 

• Liaise with other team members in gathering relevant communication materials.

• Ensure that funders are appropriately invited to donor cultivation events and that relevant materials and other documentation are prepared as necessary. 

Prospect research

• Carry out research on CAFOD projects and programmes available for funding/requiring funding and liaising with international colleagues for this purpose. 

• Engage with relevant media articles, particularly in the Catholic and religious media. 

Information management 

• Monitor on a regular basis the funding interests of charitable trusts, income and expenditure trends, information about trustees, application procedures etc. 

• Maintain up to date records of all communications with trusts and ensure that all information is recorded accurately on the database. 

• Keep up to date on external developments in trust fundraising and participate in the Institute of Fundraising Trusts Special Interest Group. 

Other 

• Contribute to other aspects of CAFOD’s work where necessary, including engaging in divisional and CAFOD-wide forums, as agreed with Head of Team. 

• Support CAFOD in ensuring an integrated approach to fundraising across our different income streams. 

• An essential requirement of all members of the Team is to keep donor information that is not in the public forum strictly confidential. 

• Attend and contribute to regular section, department and CAFOD-wide meetings and briefings.
