We are seeking an experienced finance professional to join a new Chief Executive Officer and an ambitious team of staff and volunteers. 

Job purpose

To lead on financial strategy and planning, budgeting, reporting, and analysis for The Mix and its trading subsidiary, 127 Trading Ltd.

To lead on data strategy and management, (financial and non-financial), across the whole organisation ensuring data quality, and promoting data-driven decision-making.

Background

The Mix Stowmarket Ltd. is an established youth charity working with young people across Mid Suffolk. Through mentoring, youth work, education programmes and social enterprise, we support young people young people aged 9–25 across Mid Suffolk. The Mix has a committed team, a flagship youth centre, and a trading arm, 127 Trading Ltd, which operates two cafés. We are rooted in community impact and innovation.

Our vibrant and ambitious youth charity serves. We exist to inspire, empower, and support young people to build resilience, thrive, and unlock their full potential. Working from our centre in Stowmarket and a second base in Needham Market, we deliver a diverse range of programmes including youth mentoring, alternative education, school-based support, and open-access youth sessions. Alongside our charitable work, we operate a social enterprise trading arm, 127 Trading Ltd, which runs two cafés that provide training and employment opportunities for young people, while generating vital income for our work. We have recently appointed our new CEO, who takes up post in October 2025.  We now seek an experienced Head of Finance and Data to support the senior team as they lead The Mix into its next chapter, with prime responsibility to provide sound and rigorous financial and data leadership across The Mix and 127 Trading Ltd.

Overview of the role

As the organisation’s Head of Finance and Data, you will be an experienced, and trusted professional, who can bring strong financial and data disciplines to the organisation.

Working closely with our new CEO and committed trustees and staff, you will develop and implement The Mix’s financial and data strategies that are aligned to our vision to expand the reach of our crucial support of young people in Suffolk.

You will have a thorough understanding of financial accounting and planning relevant to the charity and social-enterprise sectors, with a strong attention to detail.

You will be passionate about the use of financial and non-financial data to inform business decisions and be an effective analyst and communicator of business performance.
 
You may come from the youth, charity, health, education, or social enterprise sectors — but above all we welcome candidates who can bring the vision, leadership and heart to shape the future of fundraising and marketing at The Mix.

Main Responsibilities

1. Financial leadership

· Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and practices.

· Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

· Lead the Finance sub-committee

· Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and relevant analysis of performance, at a project, site, and business level.

· Manage financial risk and ensure regulatory compliance.

· Provide strategic financial advice to senior management and the board.

· Monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
 

2. Data Strategy and Management
 

· Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy.

· Ensure data quality, security, and governance.

· Drive data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

· Chair the Data, Impact and Evidence Action Group.

· Oversee data analysis, reporting, and visualization.

· Collaborate with other departments on data-related initiatives.
 

3. Stakeholder Engagement
 

· Communicate financial and data insights to senior management, the CEO, the Board, and stakeholders.

· Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

· Function as a point of contact for audit and regulatory inquiries.
 

4. Team leadership and development
 

· Lead and mentor the finance and data team.

· Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

This person must be passionate about delivering high levels of personalised care to a range of donors and have the ability to communicate effectively, while maintaining attention to detail to ensure the smooth delivery of the processes behind donor engagement. You must also be flexible and confident in providing wider support across the fundraising teams within the Royal Star & Garter group.

This is a hybrid role, with two days a week at our Worthing Home to build strong relationships and gain a deeper understanding of our work. There may also be occasional visits to outside events and to Royal Star & Garter’s other Homes as needed.

Purpose of the role

- To provide excellent customer care to all donors, delivering optimum supporter journeys working effectively with the wider team within the Royal Star & Garter (RSG) group 
- To manage all associated fundraising payment processes and procedures and work effectively with finance to manage safe and effective banking and reconciliations
- To provide fundraising support across the department and locations of our services in respect of a range of activities including fundraising events
- To support the High Value Events & Corporate Manager in time bound projects as and when necessary

Supporter care

- To be proactive in enabling the supporter journey with timely communications (phone, email and letters) and clear stewardship with both existing and new donors
- Ensure effective frontline support and response for donors across a range of incoming systems
- Ensure donation processes and procedures are adhered to and executed in a timely manner, in accordance with guidelines – updating those wherever required with approval by the RSG Fundraising Officer.
 
Donations and data entry

- Ensure that the fundraising CRM database is up to date and that supporters contact and financial data is accurate, including creating new records
- Complete weekly banking and allocation tasks in accordance with the approved process, liaising with the finance department to ensure that all batched income is allocated correctly
- Data inputting on the CRM to include: regular giving, importing income from external agencies including CAF and Just Giving, processing Gift Aid and accurately storing declarations
- Filing and management of paperwork, ensuring due diligence and security measures are followed.

Fundraising & volunteer support

- To provide active support to a range of events including: managing participants, sending information, monitoring online giving pages and on the day set up and pack down
- To directly source donated items and contributors to support fundraising events including raffle/auction prizes and coordinating suppliers, stallholders and entertainers 
- Coordinate and communicate with volunteers for events and corporate volunteering days and activities, ensuring they are briefed and supported
- To support any regular mailings or email contact to supporters, assisting with the cleaning and compliance of data once an agreed annual schedule is in place regular.

Other

- To manage all aspects of incoming fundraising post and dedicated inboxes along with outgoing mailings
- Ensure general department are kept up to date including attendance at meetings within RSG group wherever possible
- To be conversant with relevant fundraising legislation and the guidelines of the 
Fundraising Regulator and the GDPR
- To undertake other duties as may be required and which are consistent with the nature of the role.

Knowledge and experience:

- Experience of working in a customer focused environment, preferably within fundraising
- Good working knowledge of CRM database
- Experience of banking processes and consistent financial reconciliation 
- Ability to manage a busy workload meeting deadlines
- Experience of working on own initiative and as part of a team
- Experience of supporting fundraising events, including logistics and on-the-day delivery (desirable)
- Experience of coordinating or working with volunteers, including corporate groups (desirable).

 Skills:

- Excellent communication skills including written (and email) and on the phone
- Excellent attention to detail with a good eye for numbers 
- Excellent general IT skills including Word & Excel
- Good relationship building skills and an ability to work across teams creating strong internal networks

How you will make a difference

Reporting to the Prospect Research Manager, you will identify and qualify new prospects across Philanthropy, Trusts & Grants, and Corporate Partnerships. You will carry out in-depth research using a wide range of sources, manage due diligence processes and ensure accurate data is maintained on our CRM systems. You will also work closely with the Interim Head of Trusts and Philanthropy to steward donors and deliver exceptional supporter experiences.

Content creation and content management

• Working with the Senior Communications Manager, research, draft, and edit compelling content for the UK website, newsletters, and print materials.

• Ensure brand voice and tone are consistently applied across all communications.

Digital and organic social media

• Develop and maintain a social media content calendar which supports our Communications Strategy and liaise with our Social Media Freelancer to plan and approve posts.
• Contribute to the delivery of multi-channel campaigns, liaising with internal stakeholders and suppliers to create assets and meet deadlines.
• Assist with monitoring and reporting on content performance, identifying opportunities for growth and engagement.

Campaign coordination

• Manage feedback processes to ensure the timely delivery of content and materials.
• Act as the first point of contact for all content requests from across the organisation.

Administration and finance

• Collate quotes for expenditure and liaise with suppliers as required.
• Track invoices, ensuring coding is accurate and amounts match agreed quotes.
• Maintain organised systems for content workflows, approvals, and campaign schedules.

Monitoring and evaluation

• Gather engagement and performance metrics from all channels.
• Provide regular reports to the Senior Communications Manager.

BeSpace is a small but growing Christian charity with a big vision to see a future where every child has the opportunity to access creative reflective spaces to develop personal tools to pray, reflect and grow spiritually throughout their lives, helping churches, schools and communities to flourish.

We have seen incredible impact through developing prayer spaces in schools across Oxfordshire. Since 2010, over 65,000 children have experienced prayer spaces led by local churches, trained and resourced by us. Currently 60 schools a year have prayer and reflection spaces. Now, we’re building on this momentum to reach over 115 schools in the next three years and are preparing to grow nationally with developing contemplative retreats for schools.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

• Inspire and equip churches to run prayer and reflection spaces in schools
• Pilot school retreats and embed contemplative practices into school engagement
• Recruit and coach volunteer area networkers to grow local networks of volunteers
• Gather stories and evidence of impact, ensuring quality and consistency
• Help position Oxfordshire as a model in developing contemplative retreats nationally. 

You will work closely with our CEO and Operations Coordinator, playing a vital part in both local transformation and BeSpace’s journey towards national growth.

The Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights (CRER) is Scotland’s leading strategic anti-racist organisation. Based in Glasgow, we work to eliminate racial discrimination and harassment and to promote racial justice across Scotland through research, policy development, lobbying, campaigning and network-building.

The Role

As Executive Director, you will be the senior officer responsible for the strategic leadership, policy development, office and staff management, financial control, stakeholder relationships and Company Secretary duties. You will ensure delivery of annual work plans, contractual compliance and organisational sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategy, Research and Policy Development: Provide strategic direction, delivering CRER’s vision, aims and objectives; lead development and execution of strategy with staff and Board, setting policy, research and advocacy priorities.
• Governance and Operational Management: Act as Company Secretary; oversee OSCR compliance; support the Board’s duties through guidance and information; prepare annual budgets; ensure sound financial management; oversee management accounts and annual reports; maintain infrastructure and regulatory compliance; implement risk management; develop funding applications and tender responses.
• Staff Leadership and Development: Lead and line-manage a motivated team; maintain and apply the CRER Policies and Procedures Handbook consistently.
• Stakeholder Relations and Public Relations: Manage external relationships with BME organisations, third sector, government, funders, academia, and parliamentarians; represent CRER in strategic discussions, public events, media, and on social media platforms.
• Other Duties: Any additional tasks required for effective organisational functioning.

Parenthood can be hard. It can be lonely. And it doesn’t come with a manual. Many families we work with also struggle with hunger, grief and anxiety, and just don’t know where to turn for support. Our volunteers are a lifeline to hundreds of families each year, offering one-to-one home-visiting and a wide range of support for parents to ensure that their children have the best start in life. We are seeking a Volunteering and Engagement Coordinator to recruit and develop a diverse team of volunteers, to support our work with families in Barnet, Brent and Harrow.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, forward thinking change-maker to test new approaches to engaging with local communities and potential volunteers. You will understand the importance of brand and positive messaging, and will be able to use a variety of techniques including social media to promote volunteering opportunities to different communities of interest.

Additionally, the postholder will be an inclusive and engaging communicator, with the ability to build supportive relationships with a diverse group of volunteers. The postholder will ensure that volunteers receive training, development and supervision to support the families we work with, and that high standards of practice are maintained. The work requires a combination of field-based community engagement and training in Barnet, Brent and Harrow and regular days in the office which is in Finchley, Barnet.

We’re looking for a Science Communications Officer (Fixed term) to join our team

Salary: £35,000

Base: Central Edinburgh/hybrid

Hours: Full time and fixed term for one year.  35 hours a week over core working hours of 10am - 3pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. The office is open 8am – 7pm daily and our hybrid working policy requires all full-time employees to work at least two days a week in the Edinburgh office.

We are looking for a creative, multi-skilled Science Communications Officer to champion our research and our global researchers through compelling storytelling. This involves collaborating across the charity to ensure content is accurate and audience appropriate. You’ll also be interacting with everyone in the organisation to help them understand how cancer behaves and how our research is helping to find new cures.
