A bit about this role

As a charity we can continue to help cats and kittens in need thanks to the donations we receive at fundraising events from generous members of the public. Our fundraising event helpers have the exciting and varied role of helping at local fundraising events - such as cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!

What we need from you

You'll be

• help set up and/or man stalls at events
• help on collection days like supermarket collections events or street collections
• help at fundraising events such as quiz nights, cake sales and dances
• promoting a professional image of Cats Protection at events

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events. The events are based around the Warrington area including, but not limited to, Winwick, Lymm, Newton-Le-Willows and at the Centre itself. 

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

Job Overview

The Abundant Woman is seeking a creative and proactive Social Media Manager to lead our online presence and engage with our community across platforms. This role is vital to increasing awareness of our mission, connecting with women who need our services, and inspiring supporters. The ideal candidate will be passionate about women’s empowerment, experienced in social media management, and skilled at creating engaging content.

Key Responsibilities

 •  Develop and implement a social media strategy to grow our following and increase engagement on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

 •  Create, schedule, and manage high-quality content, including posts, stories, and videos that align with our brand and mission.

 •  Monitor and respond to comments and messages, fostering a positive and supportive online community.

 •  Analyse performance metrics and prepare regular reports on growth and engagement, making recommendations for improvement.

 •  Stay up-to-date on social media trends and adapt strategies to ensure our content remains relevant and impactful.

Key Skills and Qualifications

 •  Proven experience in social media management, preferably for nonprofits or mission-driven organisations.

 •  Strong understanding of social media platforms, content creation, and analytics tools.

 •  Excellent communication and storytelling skills; ability to engage diverse audiences.

 •  Creative mindset with a keen eye for design and attention to detail.

 •  Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other design tools is a plus.

Here at Youth4Youth, we have grown a strong, tight-knit community of individuals who are passionate about making a difference and improving the lives of young people across the UK. Our growing team of volunteers all contribute, significantly, to the impact that we have as a charity on our direct beneficiaries, regardless of the department that they work in of the level of time that they are able to commit. Our services primarily offer a peer-support network to young people right across the UK, allowing them to access a peer mentor who is of a similar age to them and somebody that they feel more comfortable speaking with.

If successful, you will be joining a growing team of diverse, but likeminded individuals, collaborating to increase the reach of the Charity and improve support provisions available to young people. All of our volunteers and employees are remote workers, but that doesn't stop us keeping in touch and maintaining a strong positive culture amongst our whole team.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Executive Leadership Team here at Youth4Youth to drive positive change in all things volunteer engagement. As an entirely volunteer run organisation, positive engagement with volunteers is absolutely fundamental in allowing Youth4Youth to achieve its mission. It is so fundamental that one of our overarching strategic goals is to ensure that all volunteers have a positive and meaningful volunteering experience when working with us. The Volunteer Experience Director will play a critical role in setting strategy and executing solutions to improve the overall volunteer experience. 

Responsibilities 

Short term objectives:

• Define the volunteering proposition for the Charity, helping new and existing volunteers to understand the impact of working with Youth4Youth
• Manage a project to understand gaps in volunteer engagement and experience, generating recommendations back to the ELT
• Develop a volunteer experience strategy that improves engagement and the overall volunteering experience of all involved with Youth4Youth

Overall objectives and responsibilities:

• Lead a team of volunteers who are involved in supporting a positive volunteering experience with the charity
• Develop and execute a volunteer experience strategy that seeks to attract, engage and retain high-quality volunteers into all teams across the charity
• Partner effectively with the broader charity leadership team to understand engagement challenges and implement solutions to close engagement gaps
• Report to the CEO and the Board of Trustees on any strategic progress made around improving volunteer engagement

Skills 

• Ability to manage complex projects, including the direct and indirect management and coordination of people resources
• Ability to understand complex problems and articulate solutions in a clear, concise and understandable manner
• Demonstrable blue-sky thinking that encourages the implementation of new solutions that may not have been considered before

TRC was set up in 2010 to provide a free, confidential and non-judgemental specialist support service run by women for women and girls who have experienced any form of rape, sexual abuse or sexual violence at any time in their lives. We are a feminist organisation and we actively challenge the values, beliefs and behaviours that contribute to women’s
oppression. Our mission is to raise awareness about sexual violence through providing training, guidance and information and working in partnership with local service providers and communities to promote the values of TRC.

The skills you need: Good communication skills; supportive; able to listen to the needs of people with Parkinson's, and reflect these to the group to shape the support provided; honest; you'll know when to ask for help, or when tasks might be seen as less important, and able to share that with Parkinson's UK and your group.

Who are we looking for?

At present we are working to secure funding that will see us through our first year, and the role will be an important part of the organisation's growth and ability to obtain funding for the operational activities and start up for the organisation. We are currently working with a third-party funding strategy specialist and the Funding Co-ordinator will oversee this launch as well as look into other funding options that may be available pre-start up and in the following months.

The person who is starting the charity up is autistic, has ADHD, CPTSD and also multiple physical conditions that effect daily life and is part of the LGBTQ+ community and has faced a lot of issues in life because of these things.

Living Reasons is being created to fix what we think is a challenging situation that is getting harder to achieve every week, month and year in the current economic, political, environmental and societal landscape. It is not easily defined but we hope the charity objects below will help put context to what we want to achieve, what we can say is that below are the issues we are trying to address, how we do this will change as quickly as society does, but the issues we want to tackle are these:

Do you live in Wales and want to gain valuable skills, have new experiences, and support vulnerable people? 

We are offering 3 young people aged 18-25 the opportunity to volunteer with the Portuguese Red Cross in Cucujães, serving the Municipality of Oliveira de Azeméis. The programme will run from August 2025 – November 2025. 

All our placements are fully funded, with travel, accommodation, visas and health insurance costs covered, and volunteers receive a small monthly allowance to cover additional expenses. 

You will support the local community in three main areas: Social Assistance and access to Welfare Services, Emergency Response & First Aid, and Youth Engagement. This is a great opportunity to get involved in social action projects and find out what you are interested in!

Please note that only young people based in Wales can apply for this role. This role requires someone with intermediate to fluent levels of spoken and written French. Interviews will take place online with shortlisted candidates. 

We are keen to hear from individuals especially those who do not normally get the chance to volunteer overseas, who are passionate and motivated about working in the humanitarian sector and international volunteering but who also understand that these types of placements require adaptability and resilience. We are especially interested in applications from those who are from low socio-economic backgrounds, are carers or are care experienced, have accessed free school meals, are refugees or asylum seekers and those with disabilities or additional needs.

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Volunteers to join our new drop in group in Yeovil, Somerset that take place on 12.30 - 2.30 pm on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month starting 18th Sept. This role is ideal for individuals looking to make a meaningful impact in the community while gaining valuable experience.

The Say Aphasia charity provides support groups across the UK for people with aphasia; a language and communication disability caused by a brain injury like a stroke. Aphasia affects over 350,000 people in the UK but is little understood or known about by the public. It is the only aphasia charity set up by people with aphasia for people with aphasia; helping them to adapt to their new way of life and regain their independence and confidence.

Aphasia occurs due to injury to the brain such as a stroke. It affects access to language, resulting in difficulties following conversations, speaking, reading and writing.

Volunteers will support the running of the group with communicating, and will have the opportunity to utilise their communication skills and IT knowledge to take a register of attendance.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and support to individuals, particularly those living with asphasia.
• Assist in organising activities that promote social interaction and engagement.
• Communicate effectively with participants, ensuring their needs are understood and met.
• Help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
• Collaborate with other volunteers to enhance the group.

Qualifications

• An understanding or knowledge in aphasia is desirable.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups.
• Proficiency in IT, including familiarity with common software applications.
• A compassionate and patient attitude towards individuals in need of support.

Compassionate Neighbours are trained volunteers offering friendship, support and listening ear to people living in their local community, sometimes with serious, long-term or terminal illness who often struggle with loneliness.

By popping round for a cup of tea or a friendly chat once a week you can make a world of difference. You will be a good listener, kind and have a genuine interest in other people.

As a Compassionate Neighbour Volunteer you’ll not only gain new skills, confidence, and social networks; you’ll be making a difference in your local community.

Gendered Intelligence is looking to expand the current Board of Trustees in order to bring fresh perspectives and skills to support the vital work that we do. We are currently recruiting for up to three new trustees.  

Any successful applicants will need to understand the history of, and the issues that affect trans, nonbinary and gender questioning people and our communities in the UK, either as a member of this community themselves or as a committed ally. They will also need to have a strong commitment to the values and mission of Gendered Intelligence.

Summary

• Hours: Voluntary, but Trustees are expected to commit to a minimum of 10 hrs per month 
• Location: Board meetings are a mix of online and in-person, at times arranged to suit the Trustees. Ability to travel to London is necessary
• Reports to: Chair/Charity Commission/Companies House
• Function: Governance

Particular areas of expertise 

Whilst we are looking for trustees with a broad range of skills, we are particularly interested in finding people with skills and experience in the following areas:

• Youth work. Experience as a senior or strategic practitioner, especially within vulnerable and marginalised communities.
• Legal work. This could be in human rights, discrimination, employment law or general charity law, but we are open to other areas of expertise, including regulatory, risk and governance expertise. You may not be a lawyer but could bring knowledge of legal systems more widely, or networks who can support this area as required.
• HR management experience. An experienced HR professional who can bring a strategic HR perspective to board discussions and support the GI in developing effective and inclusive people practices.

If your experience does not fall into these categories but you would still like to be considered, please do let us know. The best trustees can come from all sorts of backgrounds, and we’d love to know what your experience can offer us.

Commitment 

We currently hold five scheduled Board meetings a year and occasional ad hoc meetings as deemed necessary. Additionally there is the opportunity to join subcommittees and working groups to allow deeper involvement in an area of particular interest. In order to facilitate availability for each meeting, to read all necessary paperwork in advance, and to be available to advise in your area of expertise, we consider that successful candidates should be able to commit to being available for a minimum of 10 hours per month.

Appointments are for an initial three-year term, renewable for up to two further terms.

What we're looking for:

We're looking for enthusiastic, creative and organised people to be a part of the NSPCC's fundraising group in  your local area. Around 90 per cent of our income comes from our supporters and we couldn't continue doing what we do without them. That means, our fundraising group members play a important part in rallying people together to raise vital funds which help to protect children and prevent abuse.

What you'll do:

You'll be a valued part of our your local area fundraising group, working together with the rest of the team to raise awareness and funds. You'll support your fundraising group leader and other group members by helping to organise fundraising events and activities or thinking up new ways to get people fundraising.

We appreciate that work, family and friends come first and, with that in mind, this role offers flexibility to fit in with your lifestyle. You only need to commit to a couple of hours a month, but if you want to do more that would be great.

What you'll get:

We'll support you with advice, skills and tools to help you fundraise and spread the word about the NSPCC. You'll learn more about how you're helping to protect children in add your local area and across the UK, and you'll have the opportunity to grown your skills and inspire others to support us. It's also a chance to spend time with like-minded people and make new friends.
