We are recruiting a Head of Income and Engagement to provide strategic leadership and vision for two critical functions—Fundraising and Marketing & Communications—bringing them together into a unified, high-performing team. This role focuses on shaping strategy, building external relationships, and driving organisational growth through income generation and brand engagement, rather than day-to-day operational management.

You will set the direction for attracting significant funding, particularly through corporate partnerships, while strengthening what PAPYRUS already does well:

• Securing grants and trusts funding
• Harnessing the passion of our large, committed supporter base - including bereaved families and others who raise voluntary income for us

In a challenging financial climate, you will lead efforts to grow these income streams and maintain a strong, values-driven presence across press, social media, and broadcast channels. About CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. We educate people on the signs of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.

We do this because when diagnosed early, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection can save lives.

Breast cancer does not need to be detected late, and as long as we are here and continue to be supported by people like you, we will do all we can to make sure this doesn’t continue to happen.

The Role 

The Individual Giving and Legacy Manager will report into the Head of Public Fundraising and sits within the wider CoppaFeel! Fundraising Team. In this pivotal role you will leverage your individual giving digital skills, knowledge and passion to drive our fundraising efforts to new heights. Your innovative approach and data-led mindset will grow our income and supporter base,  and ensure we’re on track for our mission to educate and empower young people of early detection of breast cancer. 

You will need to have experience in both acquisition and retention programmes  particularly in paid digital, new product development and developing multi-channel supporter journeys. You will be a great project manager, be confident in managing budgets across multiple income streams and using data to make evidence-based decisions. You will also have  excellent attention to detail and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, with the ability to generate ideas and solutions. 

This is a fixed term contract of 12 months and a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will attend the London office 2 days per week. You will be required to attend the office for quarterly team meetings, department meetings and in person training, we will provide plenty of notice for when you are required to be in for these purposes. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Development and delivery of the Individual Giving Programme across regular giving, cash, lottery, legacy and in memory activities and income streams with a digital first approach.

• Work with the Head of Public Fundraising in developing and delivering the public fundraising strategy to support growth over the next 3 years.

• Manage budgets against financial and non-financial KPI’s and targets. Be involved in setting budgets and regular re-forecasts, working closely with the Finance team to ensure all income and expenditure is coding and recorded correctly.

• Develop supporter journeys across the programme and organisation, monitoring to optimise when necessary.

• Manage external suppliers and partners to make sure that CoppaFeel! Is getting the best value for money and high quality services.

• Lead on building the legacy programme to acquire new supporters and embed as a giving product in the organisation.

• Manage and develop the in memory income stream with a view to grow over the next 3 years and integrate with other income streams which share the same motivation to give.

• Embed the EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) strategy, increasing diversity in the Individual Giving portfolio; broadening our appeal, relevance and accessibility within our work. 

• Collaborate and coordinate with internal teams to amplify public fundraising and ensure delivery of projects and activities are integrated where possible and delivered successfully.

• Future Line Management: as the organisation evolves may take on line management responsibilities, overseeing team members and fostering their professional growth

• Ensure quality data management: Act as a data steward for fundraising, maintaining high standards of data management.

Skills, Experience, & Qualification

Essential

• Detailed knowledge and experience in digital fundraising, including paid media

• Experience in developing complex online supporter journeys and delivery platforms

About the role

We’re looking for a Fundraising Engagement Officer with excellent communication skills and team ethic to join our team of fundraising experts in the Fundraising Events & Engagement Team. This is a role of variety and relationship building, and we are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, dedicated, and versatile.

We’re the innovative, thoughtful, and collaborative Fundraising Events and Engagement Team: DIY, sports, and virtual fundraising specialists. We want our supporters to feel welcomed, engaged, inspired, and motivated. We’re innovative relationship managers, and we’re always using our initiative to seek out possible improvements so that we can adapt, hone our skills and deliver the best possible experience for our supporters. A great personality and team ethic are vital in this role as you will maximise income for Young Lives vs Cancer by coaching supporters to reach their fundraising goals, ensuring they have the most positive time possible with every interaction. This role sits within the Mass Participation team, and we need someone with natural customer service skills who is passionate about delivering an outstanding experience to our supporters. We communicate with our supporters in a variety of ways, so we’re looking for someone who can build a relationship via phone, email and social media.

What will I be doing?

About Khulisa

Khulisa, meaning 'nurture' in the Zulu language of South Africa, is an award-winning charity dedicated to providing therapeutic support to young people. We focus on reaching those who are most at risk – young people from deprived communities who are often marginalized, vulnerable to exclusion, and at heightened risk of becoming involved in crime

Our approach centres on safe, exploratory methods that aim to understand behaviour and experiences often rooted in trauma, abuse, and neglect. We deliver intensive therapeutic programs within educational and community settings, empowering young people to confront the underlying causes of their emotional distress and work toward healing. To create lasting, sustainable change, we work to establish trauma-informed environments around young people by equipping parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals with the tools they need to offer effective, supportive care. Currently, our services are active in London and Manchester.

About the role

Over the last two consecutive financial years, we have raised approximately £1 million each year – primarily through trusts and foundations, corporate donors, and individual supporters. As the successful candidate, you and the team you lead will play a pivotal role in maintaining this level of fundraising success, ensuring our vital work with young people continues to flourish. This role will involve:

• Reviewing and evaluating our funder qualification processes to ensure donors align with our values and meet our ethical standards.
• Ensuring that detailed research on prospective funding opportunities, including trusts, foundations, corporate partners, HNWIs, are carried out and that plans for making approaches are developed and carefully implemented.
• Initiating, nurturing and maintaining strong relationships with prospective funders and donors.
• Working together with the Senior Leadership to develop and periodically review Khulisa's 3-year fundraising strategy, taking ownership of key elements and processes, and periodically developing and testing new fundraising approaches.

The post holder will be required to work from home permanently but be willing and able to easily travel to various locations across the London and the North West as necessary to fulfill the requirements of the role and to engage with stakeholders and colleagues.

What we're looking for

Abilities/Experiences

• Extensive fundraising and grant management experience working on large bids (£100K plus).
• Excellent writing skills with ability to produce clear, concise and engaging reports.
• Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and build relationships easily.
• Demonstrable experience of successfully raising funds from Trusts & Foundations, Corporates and Major Donors.
• Experience of leading or significantly contributing to development and/or delivery of a fundraising strategy.
• Experience of budget management and financial processes in income generation activities.
• Experience of mobilising and managing implementation of grant agreements from initiation to reporting and possibly reapplication.

The Community Fundraiser role is responsible for establishing and developing community fundraising systems and activities. This is BHA's first dedicated fundraising position, offering a unique opportunity to build sustainable income streams whilst building trusted relationships with Ethnic Minorities communities in and around Manchester, and others interested in supporting our cause.   You will plan and deliver culturally appropriate fundraising events, develop digital fundraising campaigns, establish donor databases and create fundraising systems that align with our values and mission. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate success in generating income through community engagement, has experience planning and delivering fundraising events, and understands the principles of community-centric fundraising.You will be comfortable establishing systems and processes as needed, working independently whilst collaborating across teams. Cultural competency and sensitivity when working with diverse communities is essential, along with the ability to build trust and rapport with different community groups. Strong communication skills, attention to detail regarding compliance and data protection, and creative problem-solving abilities will be crucial to your success in this role.The post holder will have the following essential criteria:

• Experience in successfully generating income through community fundraising activities

This is a vital role in delivering our fundraising strategy and goals. Income Generation

Operational Delivery

· Be responsible for the setting and managing of budgets, targets and KPIs. Report on progress, trends and take action when required. Analyse results and evaluate activity to inform future plans.

· Act as the lead-user for Raisers’ Edge, supervise the Data Administrator to ensure accurate data entry and reconciliation, and support the team with reporting and data analysis.
