 About HIAS+JCORE

HIAS+JCORE is the UK Jewish response to refuge and asylum. Our vision is a UK where refugees can live in dignity, in a society free from racism. This work is driven by the belief that the Jewish community should play an active part in empowering refugees to thrive.

Our organisation came into this form through the joining of operations between two organisations: the UK-based JCORE (Jewish Council for Racial Equality) and HIAS, a global humanitarian aid and advocacy organisation. HIAS+JCORE is inspired by Jewish values and history to support those who are displaced, no matter their background.

Role purpose

The Fundraising Trustee will bring expertise, insight, and strategic guidance to help the charity strengthen and diversify its income. Working with the Board and staff/volunteers, they will ensure fundraising is ethical, sustainable, and aligned with the charity’s mission and values.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the overall governance of the charity as a member of the Board of Trustees.
• Provide advice and support on fundraising strategy, ensuring income generation is realistic and compliant with regulation.
• Act as a fundraising champion on HIAS+JCORE’s board, working with and supporting other trustees to explore fundraising possibilities.
• If networks for fundraising exist, use them to support the work of the charity.
• Support the development of diverse fundraising streams (e.g. individual giving, trusts and foundations, community fundraising, corporate support) and advise and support with appeals and major fundraising events/campaigns.
• Ensure compliance with fundraising regulation and best practice, including the Code of Fundraising Practice, and through HIAS+JCORE’s policies and procedures.
• Act as an ambassador for the charity, promoting its work and helping to raise its profile.

Essential:

• Commitment to the charity’s mission and values.
• Understanding of the legal duties and responsibilities of charity trusteeship.
• Knowledge and experience of fundraising (e.g. trusts, corporates, major donors, community fundraising, or digital campaigns).
• Strategic thinker, able to balance long-term planning with practical advice.
• Strong communication and networking skills.

• Experience of fundraising in a small charity context.

Join us as a Trustee – Fundraising & Grants Lead and help shape the future of Grantham Foodbank.

We’re looking for someone with energy, ideas and a passion for supporting our community. As part of our Board, you’ll help guide the strategic direction of Grantham Foodbank and ensure we remain strong, sustainable and ready to support local people in crisis.

In this lead role, you’ll use your fundraising or grant-writing experience to help us secure vital income, build partnerships and unlock new opportunities for growth. About the Role

Join us as a Trustee – Fundraising & Grants Lead and help shape the future of Grantham Foodbank.
You will share responsibility for the charity’s governance and strategic direction while taking the lead on fundraising and grant development to secure the funds we need to sustain and grow our impact in the local community.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead or support the Foodbank’s fundraising strategy, grants, and donor engagement

· Identify and pursue new income opportunities and local partnerships

· Keep the Board informed about fundraising performance, risks, and opportunities

· Act as an ambassador for Grantham Foodbank within the local community

About You:

· Experience or interest in fundraising, grants, or partnership building

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate person who could devote the time to volunteer with us as one of our Trustees. As a Trustee of the Branch, you will have the chance to influence how we care for and prevent cruelty to animals and drive the implementation of key initiatives. You will serve on the governing body of the charity and be instrumental in the running of the Branch and setting out both the short and long terms aims.

As a minimum, trustees would normally be expected to attend a monthly committee meeting lasting some 2 to 3 hours. However, the commitment may vary depending on whether the trustee takes on additional duties.

The Milton Keynes & North Bucks Branch is one of the branches of RSPCA, but we are also a separately registered charity looking after animals in our local area. Much of the animal welfare work of RSPCA is carried out through local branches, which is run by volunteers who have the support of the National Society of RSPCA.

Primary responsibilities of the Fundraising Trustee

• Lead on developing and delivering fundraising strategies
• Help identify new income streams and build relationships with donors, sponsors, and community groups
• Support and advise the board on fundraising best practices
• Champion our cause and represent the branch at events and in the community
• Identify grant opportunities and apply for relevant funding streams via grants

We are looking for people from all social and cultural backgrounds, with experience and skills in any of the following areas:

Experience in fundraising, marketing, or income generation

We are looking to build a pool of friendly, reliable volunteers to support our fundraising events throughout the year. From helping with donation boxes to manning stalls at local events, this is a flexible opportunity to get involved when you can and help us maximise the funds we raise to support animals in need.

Overview of the opportunity

Our branch runs and attends a range of fundraising events across the year, and we rely on volunteers to help make these a success. We are recruiting volunteers to join an events and fundraising pool, who can be called upon when events, collections or opportunities arise.

Events vary in size and commitment – from a couple of hours helping with donation tins, to supporting larger community events or fundraising stalls. By having volunteers available to attend and support these activities, we can reach more people, raise more funds, and help more animals.

Volunteer Events & Fundraising responsibilities

Depending on the event, volunteers may be asked to help with:

• Attending fundraising events on behalf of the branch
• Manning stalls at community events, fairs or markets

elop is an award-winning LGBT Mental Health and Wellbeing Charity with 29 years’ experience of supporting LGBT+ communities across London and Essex borders.

Joining our LGBT+ Volunteer team you will be part of an enthusiastic and dedicated team who value & appreciate the benefit of giving back to the community and enjoy the opportunity to work with others to raise much needed funds to support our work at elop.
