We are commissioned by Southend-on-Sea Borough Council to deliver our Family Mentors project across the local area; the project has been running for 15 years. Our committed volunteers from the local community provide support to families whose children are at risk or have a safeguarding plan.

We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and professional Engagement Manager to join our team in Southend-on-Sea. The right candidate would be someone who can work flexibly and demonstrate an understanding and total commitment to our organisational values.

The Corporate Partnerships Manager will play a crucial role in the future growth of our charity and the impact that we achieve through partnership for people with sight loss. We are looking for an experienced new business fundraiser with a solid track record of growing income generating partnerships, donations and sponsorship from companies.

This role will lead on identifying and initiating relationships with prospective corporate donors and nurturing existing relationships to grow income significantly. You will line manage a Partnerships Officer and have support from a shared Partnerships Assistant.

Role Responsibilities

Priorities include:

· Developing and delivering a corporate fundraising income plan across, Corporate Donations,  Corporate Grants, Charity of the Year, Sponsorship, Cause Related Marketing, Payroll Giving, Gifts in Kind and Pro Bono relationships.

· Develop and implement inspiring stewardship events.

· Work closely with High Value Team and Retail Partnerships colleagues to maximise cross team opportunities.

Income growth:

· Grow the corporate new business pipeline with a balanced focus on long term income generating partnerships.

· Develop and implement new fundraising products, especially hybrid, to drive income from existing partners and new prospects. This will include challenge events and employee-led fundraising opportunities.

· Maximise income from existing corporate partners (and links through trustees, vice presidents, community, and major donors) through a clearly defined programme of research, networking, applications and excellent stewardship.

· Along with senior colleagues, represent the new organisation at virtual/ face-to-face meetings with existing partners and prospects, successfully engaging them with our emerging aims and objectives.

· Involve senior colleagues, trustees and other key stakeholders to open networks and support cultivation plans to ensure that peer-to-peer approaches are maximised.

· Using a wide array of digital and traditional channels to steward through storytelling and to thank.

Research:

· To direct the work of the shared Partnerships Assistant in researching, identifying, and maximising the potential of new corporate prospects using information held within the supporter databases as well as external sources such as LinkedIn, and business press.

Relationship building:

· Ensure all corporate relationships receive exceptional stewardship and that appropriate cultivation plans are developed, maintained and implemented – in particular, quality and timely reporting of impact achieved against funding provided.

· Build relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within current and potential corporate partners to embed the organisation as a charity with a strong reputation for meeting the needs of corporate supporters.

· Plan and organise opportunities for funders to view the impact of their funding first-hand, ensuring all safeguarding procedures are followed and met.

· Support the Chair, CEO and Director of Development to develop senior relationships with funders where appropriate, including support with arrangement of cultivation events, project visits and meetings through excellent research and timely briefing.

Collaboration with colleagues across the organisation:

· Facilitate and encourage new leads by building warm links with colleagues and coordinate relationship management between teams to ensure most appropriate relationship for the donor.

· Work with fellow fundraisers to run virtual and face to face events throughout the year to provide opportunities to thank our current corporate supporters and engage new prospects.

· Collaborate with other members of the department to ensure corporate work is integrated across fundraising with all opportunities maximised.

· Work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to create toolkits and materials for corporate relationships to maximise fundraising opportunities.

· Work with the Marketing and Communications team to develop on brand presentations for prospective and existing partnerships.

· Work with the Grants and Impact team to identify projects that would be of interest to current and prospective corporate donors in order to prepare high-quality tailored proposals.

Reporting:

· Compile comprehensive and compelling progress and impact reports to feed back to donors in a timely fashion.

· Monitor income and expenditure to ensure sound ROI on all activities.

· Ensure accurate records of all relationships are maintained on the supporter database.

· Regularly report to senior leadership on agreed KPIs and income achieved and forecast.

Leadership & management: 

· Work as part of the fundraising management team, alongside the Director of Development and other high value team colleagues to deliver and implement the strategy.

· Seek out opportunities within the for profit and NFP sectors to raise awareness of our cause and aims.

Other:

· Become fully conversant with the aims and objectives of the charity.

· Keep up to date with developments in the sector, business industry and key new initiatives in our field.

Person specification

Desirable skills, knowledge & experience:

· Strong evidence of experience and success of corporate fundraising or within a face-to-face sales role

· Proven track record of securing gifts/ sales more than £50,000.

· Liaising at all levels with the ability to motivate and inspire others to support financially.

· Experience of designing and delivering high impact stewardship programmes and delivering high value corporate partnership events.

· Demonstrable success in writing successful funding proposals and reports.

About the role:

This is a great chance to be a part of a service working alongside the Healthcare & Education Department within HMP Bronzefield to identify and support women who are identified as being neurodiverse and will be returning to the community. Of that cohort, the Advocate will focus support on women with a mental health need and improve their transition into the community, with ongoing community support; including collaborating with other healthcare professionals to their develop support plans.

The Senior MH Advocate will work in a multi-disciplinary way, including attending the weekly complex case meeting and/or the Safety Intervention Meeting (SIM) as appropriate, they will act as a specialist member of the wider Minerva Criminal Justice Service - London team, to facilitate a pathway for women with complex needs including mental health and neurodiversity needs. The Senior Advocate will create a link between prison and the community, helping women to navigate support services and to positively re-integrate into their community upon release. They will co-design a person-centred support and action plan with women accessing support, enabling to support them to address their needs and any risks. The role will combine a casework- based approach, along with a signposting and advice service for the women.

The Senior Mental Health Advocate will be based in the community and will provide a drop-in service (1-2 day per week) in HMP Bronzefield to support women who are close to release. The role will also include line management of other advocates such as; Specialist Prison & Probation Advocates who will be based in the prison and the Loss & Bereavement Worker who will be providing support in the prison as well as in the community.

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential

About You:

To be successful as the Senior Mental Health Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

An excellent understanding of mental health, neurodiversity needs violence against women and girls and its links to women in the criminal justice system

Experience of managing/supervising a team of advocates/caseworkers – and leading a team to achieve targets & outcomes as well as appropriately managing and leading the team on any safeguarding concerns/incidents.

You will have the ability to complete trauma informed, support and action plans in collaboration with the woman; to support in addressing their multiple and individual needs and enable them to engage with services, which will result in timely and prescribed outcomes being achieved.

You will possess excellent organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work in a prison environment whilst remaining calm.

About the role

The primary purpose of the role is to manage a water-sports training facility in the Liverpool area for all Sea Cadet Units and other affiliates to the Boat Station.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day to day running of the Boat Station.
• Ensure that all visiting groups and their staff are fully briefed on the Boat Station’s policies and procedures and that there is adequate supervision of Cadets and young people at the facility, so as to discharge their duty of care for them.
• Oversee the Chief Instructor and all other sessional Instructors using the Boat Station.
• Manage the Boat Station’s accounts in liaison with the Regional Finance Manager including day to day fees.
• Ensure that best practise in accordance with the NGB guidelines and requirements following our Inshore Boating Operating Standard.

The External Affairs Coordinator is a key member of RABI’s newly established External Affairs department. In recent years, violent crime involving children has increased. This is a tragedy. Every child is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment that exists to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We will achieve this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. A big part of the movement that we need to build is in the world of health. We need to inspire and connect with health leaders across Integrated Care Services (ICBs), Local Health Boards (LHBs), Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and other relevant parts of the system. We are making progress building the evidence of what works within and around health services to reduce violence. But the big risk is that nothing changes. That’s where you come in. Your role is to identify the best way to make change happen within relevant health services. Your main responsibilities will be ensuring that:

We have great relationships with the people who can make change happen.

This will include:

• Developing great relationships with senior policy makers, sector leaders and experts, including representing YEF in external meetings and speaking at events.
• Build a Strategic Advisory Board of leading experts across the health sector and keep members onside and excited about our work.
• Manage excellent Strategic Advisory Group meetings. You can read more about our Education Strategic Advisory Group here.

We deliver the health system recommendations. 

This will include:

• Helping to identify the right recommendations at a system level (such as changes in policy, regulation, inspection, funding, or guidance) that make it more likely highly vulnerable children get access to the right support at the right time.
• Creating and delivering a plan to deliver the health system reforms, working closely with leaders to make the change happen.
• Tracking progress carefully, being thoughtful and creative about when and how to change the plan. 

We work out the most effective ways to connect people with the evidence, then making those things happen.

This will include:

• Helping health leaders change how they plan or provide services to better protect children from violence, based on our Practice Guidance.
• You can read our first guidance for school, college, and alternative provision leaders here.
• Creating a plan to get people to follow our guidance, using what we know about how they think and behave.
• Continuously testing and improving our approach to get better results.

As a senior member of staff in the organisation you also:

About You

You are this sort of person:

• You bring deep experience of the health system. You’ve worked at a senior level in or with health services – potentially commissioning support for young people at risk of or involved in violence. You understand how ICSs, LHBs, CAMHS and other health leaders think, and know how to navigate and influence within the system.
• You communicate complex ideas clearly. Whether speaking or writing, you break down complicated concepts in ways that make sense to different audiences – without oversimplifying. You bring clarity where others bring jargon.
• You get things done. You’re organised, delivery-focused, and produce high-quality work, even under pressure. You work independently and to a high standard.
• You build trust and connect with people. From government ministers to youth workers, CEOs to 15-year-olds – you know how to listen, build rapport, and make people feel heard. You’ve led meetings, made strong introductions, and bring people with you.

You must have this sort of experience.

• Delivering concrete change in practice or systems that improved children’s lives.
• Leadership experience in the health system. You’ve worked at a senior level in or with health services – potentially in commissioning – and you understand how to navigate and influence within these complex systems.

First-hand knowledge of the system that supports highly vulnerable children, particularly those at risk of or involved in violence. This includes children with conditions such as conduct disorder, psychosis, substance use disorder, ADHD, developmental language disorder, and traumatic brain injury. You understand the barriers these children face and what it takes to get them the right support.

While it’s not a criterion, we are especially interested to hear from applicants who have lived experience of violence affecting young people.

Hybrid Working

The office is based in Central London. Those living in and around London are expected to be in the office a minimum of 2 days per week. If you live outside of London and work remotely, you’ll be expected to work from the London office 2 days per month. We are looking for a self-motivated and results driven Head of Finance and Administration to join World Horse Welfare in a newly created role reporting to the Director of Finance, IT & Administration, line managing three members of the Finance and Administration team.

In this vital role, you will ensure strong financial controls across all areas of the charity, manage income and expenditure, and lead on statutory accounts preparation, payroll, VAT, pensions, and tax compliance. As a key business partner, you will work closely with budget holders of all levels, providing data and analysis on the performance of charity operations, including the four Visitor Centres, to ensure excellent financial foresight and planning, as well as enabling the senior leadership team to make timely strategic decisions. You’ll also oversee governance responsibilities such as annual statutory filings, insurance, fleet management and reporting on the annual carbon footprint.

We are looking for a qualified accountant who has experience of charity finance at a similar level, an in depth understanding of charity VAT and experience running in-house payroll processes. You will have the ability to explain financial information and produce financial reports for a wide variety of audiences. High level of IT skills particularly around data manipulation and Microsoft Excel is essential. As a line manager to three members of staff, you’ll have previous experience in managing a team in a supportive and effective manner. Experience of a retail environment, familiarity with fundraising methods and regulations, and experience of finance system implementation is highly desirable.

The role is based in Norfolk and is currently a hybrid split of 2 days in our head office in Snetterton and 3 days at home. You may be required to attend events around the UK so the ability to travel occasionally is necessary.

Job Purpose: 

Volunteering Matters are partnering with Active Suffolk to recruit  6 Community Connectors to work in the following areas of Ipswich: 

• 2 x Whitton 

• 1 x Gainsborough

• 1 x Belstead Hills 

The ideal candidates will have strong local knowledge of the area and preferably, live within the community they are assigned to. In this role, you will have conversations with local residents (aged 18+) to capture lived experience around barriers, motivations, perceptions of being physically active in the local community. You must be a confident communicator and able to work off your own initiative.

The information collected will be shared with project partners and local stakeholders to guide further learning and community development, with the goal of securing future funding for further investment in these areas. 

Responsibilities 

• Identify, plan and create opportunities to have conversations with local residents around being physically active in the local community

• Identify community needs – gather information from local residents on what they value the most, the challenges they face, and what services or initiatives could benefit them. This could be done through informal conversations, community meetings, surveys 

• Share ideas with the local community and project partners/ stakeholders 

• Signpost to information and support for residents wanting to get more involved with their local community 

• Build relationships and networks locally to promote and create opportunities for conversations. 

• Conduct conversations safely and effectively in a range of settings (eg cafes, outside local schools, community events etc) to reach a diverse range of local residents 

• Participate in regular team meetings to support learning, problem solving and collaboration 

• Work within agreed budgets and utilise community resources and venues to undertake conversations 

• Skills & Experience:  

• Strong connections with and experience of the Whitton, Gainsborough and Belstead Hills areas of the town. Preference would be from applicants living in these areas.
