The Research Officer role at Marie Curie is a key position within the Research Team and the larger Policy and Research Directorate. The role is focused on driving evidence-informed policy and practice in palliative and end of life care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply research experience and passion to make a significant impact on the lives of people affected by dying, death, and bereavement.

You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the associate directors with ongoing and new research projects, including data analysis (qualitative and quantitative), preparing manuscripts for publication, and creating academic posters for research conferences
- Conducting or supporting research such as scoping reviews, rapid reviews, and qualitative or quantitative analysis, and summarizing information to inform research and policy work
- Developing summaries and impact reports from funded Marie Curie research and other research that supports Marie Curie's ongoing work
- Organizing events and conferences, including the annual Marie Curie Palliative Care Research conference, and planning new local conferences and workshops focusing on knowledge mobilization and quality improvement
- Providing general administrative support to the research team, including arranging meetings, taking minutes, and tracking actions

Key Criteria:
- An interest in end-of-life care research.
- Experience in undertaking or supporting research, including literature reviews.
- Highly motivated, positive, proactive, and solution focused.
- Ability to work independently and manage own workload, work calmly under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.

About the role:

This is an exciting front-of-house role. As receptionist you will be responsible for greeting every young person as they arrive and ensuring they leave safely. You will also be responsible for the reception area: ensuring young people enter the session smoothly; processing new members; directing phone calls and enquiries; maintaining the membership database efficiently; and carrying out regular communication. 

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

Job Summary
The Finance Business Partner in Volunteering is responsible for providing the first line of support and assistance with the development of financial plans, analysis of the financial performance and forecasts of the Adult Volunteering area, in order to provide high quality business insight to both support and influence strategic decision making by St John’s management teams. They will be a key member of the Financial Planning and Insight team to ensure delivery of the annual three-year budgeting process, that is aligned to strategic operational plans. This will require regularly meeting with relevant stakeholders to critically review and challenge reported performance against agreed plans. This role will not only look after the Adult Volunteering part of the organisation but support some other overheads/areas within the organisation.

About You
You are a fully qualified professional accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA). Ideally you have gained experience in the charity sector and large complex organisations. You can demonstrate previous experience in a finance business partner role with a track record of supporting the end-to-end processes for in-year forecasts and annual budgets and three-year plans that are aligned to business strategy. You have significant experience in managing the day-to-day, monthly and annual production of management accounting processes. To be successful you can demonstrate excellent skills in influencing with confidence and gravitas to respectfully challenge. You are naturally curious with a genuine interest in change and technology. You take personal ownership and possess a flexible 'can do' mind set and you are able to build and maintain effective networks both internally and externally.

About the Role

• Deliver high quality business and financial analysis, with detailed outcomes and benefits, to identify and present coherent rationales for change, to support continued coordinated, consistent and effective delivery of services across St John
• Provide impactful and effective finance business partnering to St John Budget Holders, the Senior Management and Executive Teams
• Work with the relevant stakeholders, to timetable in the production of the charity’s monthly management accounts and the annual budgeting and in-year forecasting process that is the aligned to business plans
• Drive continuous improvement in St John’s financial management reporting, forecasting and analysis
• Drive continuous customer experience improvement by simplifying and improving St John’s financial processes, to provide your collective internal and external customers, an efficient and effective finance experience
• Utilise technology and tools to continuously improve the presentation and content of the charity’s financial management reports to best support and meet the needs of Budget Holders, the Senior Management and Executive Teams

About The Azaylia Foundation

The Azaylia Foundation was founded by Ashley Cain and Safiyya Vorajee after the passing of their eight-month old daughter, Azaylia. Childhood cancer is the number one killer of children in the UK, yet it receives less than 3% of cancer research funding. The National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) is seeking a proactive and skilled Media Officer to join our Communications and Public Affairs team. This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to help shape and strengthen NFCC’s voice in the national conversation around fire and rescue services.

Reporting into the Media and External Affairs Manager, you will play a central role in growing our media presence and positioning NFCC as the go-to source for journalists covering national fire and rescue issues. You will help to ensure our messages are clear, timely, and authoritative across all platforms.

Join us and help ensure that fire and rescue services have a strong, consistent voice on the national stage.

Key responsibilities:

Serve as a point of contact for incoming media enquiries.

Draft high-quality, publication-ready communications content – including press releases, news articles, opinion pieces and other engaging content. 

Support NFCC’s campaigns and policy initiatives by securing media coverage and developing strong relationships with journalists and editors.

Take ownership of key communications tools and systems, including media monitoring and audit of coverage. 

Act as the lead Comms officer on at least one area of NFCC’s work in partnership with the relevant NFCC teams and lead officers (but will also work on a wide range of our issues and areas).

Participate in an out-of-hours communications rota as part of NFCC’s communication support function (with some out of hours support – see job description for more information).

We are currently looking for a Growth and Development Worker based in England to join our team. This is an externally funded post which will be focused on opening new provision and supporting existing provision in order to reduce waiting lists within specific funding areas. You need to be able to coach, empower and inspire our volunteers and cadets, both in person and remotely, to grow the Sea Cadets.

SLRA is a well established local migrant support organisation working alongside refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants who are at risk or in crisis due to immigration issues. Our committed, supportive team works alongside local volunteers to provide a range of services including advice and casework, supportive group sessions, youth casework and activities for families and young people. 

We are looking for a Youth Caseworker to work alongside young refugees, asylum seekers and other young migrants who are at risk or in crisis, to ensure that they can access their statutory rights and achieve their full potential. The Youth Caseworker will provide holistic casework, advice and practical support to young people aged 14 to 24 years, working closely with statutory and voluntary organisations to ensure that the immediate and longer-term needs of young people are met.

Partnerships Executive (Interim)

The Partnerships Executive plays a key role in developing CST’s commercial relationships. Their primary responsibility is to secure conference exhibition sales to meet budget targets and manage all aspects of the exhibitor experience from prospecting to on-the-day support, to post-event communications. They also manage listings in the Directory of Services and work closely with the Partnerships Manager to support the prospecting process.

Reporting to: Partnerships Manager

Key responsibilities

1. Ensure that exhibition sales targets are met for each CST conference.

2. Maintain the CRM for commercial organisations, including creating and managing prospect groups and executing effective exhibition sales campaigns.

3. Create and maintain relevant webforms.

4. Provide excellent end-to-end support for exhibitors, including in person at larger conferences to ensure that all exhibitors’ needs are met on the day.

5. Gather feedback from exhibitors on the quality of their experience and report on what worked well and areas for improvement following each event.

6. Maintain and update marketing collateral to support CST’s commercial activities such as brochures, floorplans, briefings and manuals.

7. Cross-promote the Directory of Services to exhibitors along with other opportunities to work with CST where relevant.

8. Manage the sales and onboarding process for the Directory of Services, including overseeing the references, undertaken by a third party, sending out agreements and liaising with the marketing team on the promotion of new suppliers.

9. Support the Partnerships Manager in the development of the commercial pipeline for CST partnerships by holding initial meetings with new prospects and identifying opportunities for engagement.

Overview of the role

As the Fundraising Officer, you will play a key role in delivering a range of fundraising appeals and our individual and regular giving programmes. This position also provides plenty of variety and the opportunity to support and develop skills across several income streams. The Fundraising Officer will work collaboratively with the Fundraising and Communications teams and closely with the Senior Fundraising Managers.

 What you will do as part of our team

Fundraising activities

Individual Giving

· Manage the regular giving programme by implementing a rolling 12-month plan of meaningful touchpoints to deepen relationships

· Develop and implement a plan to encourage increased giving and recruit new regular donors with personalised cultivation and stewardship

· Maximise engagement and retention of individual supporters (giving at a lower to mid level) by prompt thanking, excellent stewardship and building effective donor journeys

Fundraising Appeals

· Manage Glass Door’s direct marketing appeals including our flagship annual Christmas appeal – taking the lead on the direct mail and email campaign

· Lead on content development, and implementation of donor segmentation based on giving history, preferences, and engagement levels

· Work closely with the Communications Team to deliver a robust communication plan – actively taking part in the case studies, content creation and digital campaign plans (social media and website)

· Create and implement a follow-up communication plan to thank donors and provide updates on the impact of their contributions

· Undertake evaluations of each appeal’s performance metrics and donor responses to refine future appeals

Fundraising support

· Monitor the Fundraising inbox and respond promptly to ad-hoc queries from individual donors or prospects

· Support the Senior Fundraising Managers with research into current and prospective donors, and compile information to support funding applications and reports

· Thank and steward in-memoriam gifts

· Support the wider team at events e.g. Sleep Out, Christmas Carols and other supporter events

Fundraising Administration

· Create and update donor records as required on Access Charity CRM database , ensuring relevant records are kept up to date, accurate and consistent at all times.

· Work with Finance and the Income Processing Assistant to ensure accurate and timely processing of donations, including scanning cheques, coding bank transfers and web donations, entering details in the CRM database, banking cash, setting up Direct Debits and acknowledging/thanking donors via email or post.

· Ensure all fundraising activity is compliant with relevant charity and statutory legislation, and the Fundraising Code of Practice

Labour Behind the Label is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Individual Giving Fundraiser to plan, deliver, monitor and evaluate an ambitious and effective individual giving programme for individual donations, cash appeals and regular giving. You will be responsible for the coordination of these areas of fundraising across multiple channels, as well as the administration and stewardship required to ensure engaging supporter journeys.

Labour Behind the Label (LBL) supports garment workers' efforts worldwide to improve their working conditions, wages, and ensure their basic rights are respected. We do this through lobbying retailers, brands and political leaders; raising public awareness; promoting campaign action; and exploring legal possibilities for improving conditions.
