Job Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative psychologist to join our warm and friendly team at our Dose of Nature hub in Surrey. Dose of Nature is in an exciting phase as we continue to receive funding to expand our reach, particularly increasing accessibility to our service for clients living in the Waverley area.

We are seeking a psychologist with passion for the natural world and there is great potential for the psychologist to lead on areas in which we seek to develop and expand. The post-holder would be closely supported by the psychology team, as well as the wider team, to do so.

Dose of Nature is a mental health charity whose objective is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of individuals through increased engagement with the natural world. Our work is rooted in a wealth of scientific evidence that demonstrates the physiological and psychological benefits of spending time in nature.  We deliver ‘Nature Prescriptions’ to adults (aged 18+) referred by their GP with a wide range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction.

Our Dose of Nature Prescription is overseen by psychologists and is a genuine alternative to both medication and more traditional psychological interventions. Through a combination of education, first-hand experience, and practical and motivational support, we aim to encourage a greater connection with nature and inspire lifestyle changes that will have a significant and lasting impact on mental wellbeing.  Dose of Nature is a fun, supportive and lively organisation that encourages creativity and independence, as well as a strong sense of working together as a team.

The nature of the role requires occasional evenings and weekends to cover monthly volunteer training evenings and social events as necessitated by the needs of the charity.

Key Responsibilities 

Clinical 

• To carry out psychological assessments of clients referred to the service, to reach a psychological formulation of the client’s difficulties and understand their wider contextual needs, and to support those clients throughout their journey with Dose of Nature, offering ad-hoc support where needed.
• To subsequently pair clients with an appropriate volunteer Nature Guide who then delivers the Dose of Nature Prescription.
• To review clients at the end of their Dose of Nature Prescription and ensure that those clients who would like to and / or need to, maintain connection with Dose of Nature by attending groups, social events, and through ad-hoc support.
• To maintain relationships with GP practices and other referrers, and to inform them of client progress.
• To support the Clinical Lead to offer workshops and presentations to other agencies, professional colleagues and in the wider community.
• To provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals, staff members and volunteers contributing to a client’s recovery.
• To undertake risk assessment, formulation, and management of clients and to provide advice to the Dose of Nature team on psychological aspects of risk assessment, formulation, and management.
• To actively promote client involvement in their recovery and service development.

Teaching, Training, and Supervision

• To receive and provide regular clinical supervision.
• To gain additional experience and skills relevant to the Dose of Nature model.
• To provide clinical placements for trainee counsellors and / or trainee psychologists where needed and if appropriate, ensuring that trainees acquire the necessary skills and experience to contribute effectively to client recovery, utilising the Dose of Nature model.
• To provide advice, consultation and training to staff and volunteers.

Management, Leadership, Recruitment, Policy and Service Development

• To participate in identifying and implementing the development of a high quality, responsible and accessible service.
• To contribute to the development, evaluation and monitoring of the team’s operational policies and services, through the deployment of professional skills in research, service evaluation and audit
• To participate in the management of psychological resources available to the team.
• To manage the workloads of assistant and trainee applied psychologists.
• To be involved, as appropriate, in the short listing and interviewing of assistant psychologists
  and other staff.
• To provide effective leadership and management to staff which promotes high performance
  standards both individually and as a team. 

Research and Service Evaluation

• To utilise theory, evidence-based literature, and research to support practice.
• To undertake appropriate research and provide research advice to other staff undertaking research
• To undertake project management, including service evaluation, with colleagues within the service to help develop service provision.

We Are Survivors are looking for an experienced therapeutic manager to come and join our Community Team to help us support survivors and their supporters across Greater Manchester.

Specialist Child to Parent Violence delivery:

• Advocate for the rights of children to be respected, heard and protected.

Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust (HWDT) is a marine conservation charity based on the Isle of Mull. This role is responsible for the development and delivery of HWDT’s new education project, Hebridean Marine Explorers - Connecting Scotland’s seas and communities.

The Education Officer will develop and deliver:

• a 12-week co-design project with schools resulting in a community exhibition

• a programme of digital school workshops

• boat-based floating classroom education workshops

• marine mammal research expeditions for young people

• community open boat events.

Educating young people on land and at sea is key to the role so we are seeking a confident, enthusiastic, organised self-motivator, familiar working with schools and young people, with outstanding communication skills. Experience of marine mammal surveys and the ability to identify cetacean species in the Scottish waters is also essential to the role.

We are looking for somebody experienced in teaching and delivering environmental education activities and training for young people, ideally with knowledge of co-design project delivery and its implementation within a primary school environment.

Our ideal candidate will have experience coordinating a funded project and the skills to provide effective communication, evaluation, and reporting against project targets.

The ability to work with external partners, the wider team of HWDT staff and boat crew to deliver project outcomes and a genuine interest in cetaceans and marine conservation is essential. An understanding of the workings of a charity/NGO would be an advantage.

A valid medical fitness certificate (i.e. ML5 or ENG1) and PVG check is required for the role.

Interim Head of Fundraising (18 month fixed term contract)

Youth Options are looking for an interim head of fundraising to join our Senior Management Team and help us to continue to support children and young people

The role is offered on a fixed term contract part time basis with flexible, hybrid home and office working arrangements from our Head Office in Eastleigh, Hampshire.

Your role will be to oversee the implementation of the fundraising strategy, working in collaboration with the CEO and Senior Management Team to build on existing income streams and develop effective plans to secure long-term sustainable grant and non grant fundraising.

You will manage the fundraising team which consists of community fundraiser, corporate fundraiser and grants officer, supporting them to develop clear strategies to meet our ambitious fundraising targets. In addition, you will personally lead on developing significant grant bids, working with the delivery team to achieve funding to support our strategic priorities, as well as coordinate the reporting of progress against existing grants to our supporters.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop, lead and deliver the fundraising strategy – deepening the existing supporter relationships, fundraising events and creating opportunities to engage more supporters.

· Establish and deliver clear stewardship plans for all supporters to maximise their engagement with Youth Options.

· Lead on grants fundraising including researching trust and grant funders, building relationships and submitting high quality grants.

· Oversee the implementation of our new CRM system.

· Management of fundraising team.

Person specification

· Leadership level experience of fundraising with demonstrable track record in securing large scale funding from multiple sources

· Experience of successful end-to-end grant management: from researching, grant writing, award and reporting, particular large grants.

· Excellent relationship management and communication skills with external and internal stakeholders

· Great management and leadership skills to inspire and motivate the team to achieve their targets.

· An interest in supporting children and young people and an affinity with our charities values of committed, supportive and inspiring.

You’ll be part of the Trust’s Development Directorate, leading the development and delivery of the Trust’s volunteering transformation plans with the aim to improve collaboration and efficiency across the Trust.

About the role

This is a new role funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund that will enable the transformation of how the Trust supports volunteering by delivering a programme of volunteer and staff engagement and training, and leading the set up and migration to a new cloud-based volunteer management system. The role will also lead on volunteer development with external partners as part of the project.

The postholder will require the ability to work collaboratively and to implement an agreed project plan to fixed milestones and is expected to support and embrace a positive team culture, and to uphold the Trust’s values and expected behaviours at all times. They should act as a positive role model for staff, volunteers and external stakeholders through a professional, collaborative and engaging approach.

Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity are hiring for a Senior Fundraising Executive to join our Hospital Engagement team. This position is based in the hospital for 3 days per week, with the remaining time spent working from home.

As a Senior Executive, your main focus is to build relationships and connections within the hospital in order to increase the Charity’s visibility, drive income growth and referrals from patient families, visitors and hospital staff.

Salary

The salary for this position is £35,051 per annum. 

Key Responsibilities

This is a varied role where you will:

• Engage and develop strong working relationships with hospital staff members.
• Roll out a patient family fundraising training programme, delivering training to staff groups, identifying fundraising champions within the hospital and increase patient family referrals. 
• Collaborate with the Hospital Engagement team to recruit and relationship manage hospital staff in our Charity Champions Programme. 
• Collaborate across the charity with our Grants, Brand Marketing and Communications team to coordinate charity family activity and implement a hospital engagement and communications plan. 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

This role is focused on relationship building and influencing and we’re looking for someone with:

• Experience working with the public in a customer facing role. 
• Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders of all levels of seniority. 
• Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence. (you will need to be comfortable working with patient families in a hospital environment). 
• Confident delivering presentations and training.
• Experience working with or managing volunteers.

Whilst you’ll be an employee of the Charity, this role requires you to be onsite at the hospital for 3 days per week (with the rest of the time spent working remotely).

The hospital is a large site and you’ll be physically attending different department meetings, organising events, and hosting events (ensuring branded stock is available, moving boxes, helping with event set up). 

About the Team 

This role sits within the Hospital Engagement function within the Community team, whose purpose is to drive the charity’s presence within the hospital to build key relationships and increase income from patient families and hospital staff.

This is a role with regular hospital contact and appointment to the role will require the individual to meet any hospital access requirements which may change over time.
