We are looking for a Legacy and Administration Manager to join our Finance and Operations team on a part-time basis (2 days per week). This role will report to the Director of Finance and Operations. 

Job Purpose

Legacies are one of the most vital sources of income for Operation Smile UK, helping us continue our work supporting patients with cleft around the world. We’re now looking for a Legacy Administration Manager to join our dedicated team and ensure that every gift left to the charity is managed with care, professionalism, and in line with the wishes of our supporters.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of residuary, specific, and reversionary legacy cases from initiation to completion, optimising income while upholding all legal, ethical, and organisational standards.
• Communicate with empathy and professionalism with executors, solicitors, and beneficiaries’ families, including handling enquiries and confirming receipt of legacy notifications.
• Review estate documentation and valuations, determine the charity’s entitlement, and verify that all due funds are correctly received.
• Ensure that all relevant charity tax reliefs are properly applied for, including Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax appropriations, and Income Tax (form R185).
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all legacy income and correspondence within OSUK’s CRM system and Finance Tracker.
• Track the status of ongoing cases, pursue outstanding actions, and take prompt steps to address issues or disputes as they arise.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams—such as Finance, Supporter Care, and Partnerships—to promote strong stewardship and compliance.
• Refer or escalate complex or high-impact matters to the Director of Finance and Senior Finance Manager when necessary.
• Contribute to team meetings, process improvements, and the development of best practice.

Person Specification

· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships and communicate clearly and sensitively, both in writing and verbally.

· Proven experience in legacy administration within the charity sector or in probate and estate law.

· Highly organised, with the capability to prioritise and manage a diverse caseload effectively.

· Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, documentation, and data entry.

· Skilled in interpreting wills, estate accounts, and related legal documents.

· Competent in reviewing estate accounts to verify the correct application of Inheritance Tax (IHT) and Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and to ensure estates are properly finalised.

· Proficient user of Microsoft Office and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

· Review estate accounts, including the allocation of Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and Inheritance Tax (IHT), to confirm estates are correctly administered.

· Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration (ILM) or legal/paralegal qualification.

About the Service

Our 24 hour specialist supported accommodation service provides support for women affected by any form of violence, including domestic abuse and/or sexual violence who are experiencing poor mental health and/or problematic use of substances, to build towards an independent future. This service is a high needs service.

The team delivers one to one support in the form of weekly keywork sessions working within a psychologically informed framework to create support plans with residents and build on skills and competencies. We use a strengths-based approach in the hope that service users can move on into the community or a lower needs service to live a better quality of life whatever that may look like for the individual.

In addition, the team is responsible for the building management including Health and Safety, void turn over, financial management, the repairs and living environment.

What is the role?

As the Schools & Community Fundraiser, you will be working as part of the Fundraising Team to meet organisational income targets. You will have responsibility for the co-ordination, organisation, and evaluation of existing schools fundraising events within agreed levels of income & expenditure.

You will be expected to foster and grow our links with educational establishments, the wider community across Lanarkshire and 3rd party supporters. In addition to your own workload, you will support the work of the fundraising department with other fundraising initiatives as directed..

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a fantastic chance to join the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, working within the Delivery Team team as our new Network Development Manager.

As the Network Development Manager, you will be required to oversee the planning, delivery, and evaluation of active travel infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and compliance standards. The role combines technical expertise, project leadership, community engagement, and strategic planning to enhance the National Cycle Network (NCN) and related infrastructure. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver impactful, sustainable outcomes.

Some duties will include:

• Lead on the management of active travel infrastructure design and construction projects from concept through to construction /implementation and evaluation.
• Plan, organise and attend community engagement activities to ensure collaborative approach to projects.
• Day to day management of inter-disciplinary project teams.
• Share knowledge, expertise and evidence through written reports and presentations to update and influence key external stakeholders (e,g. land owners and local authorities) and volunteers.
• Contribute to planning the future network and developing a vision and clarity of what the NCN is seeking to achieve in their area.
• Quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting to demonstrate project progress and impact.

This role involves regular travel, with work taking place at different locations to support and deliver projects for the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust.

ABOUT YOU

We ask that you have experience in the following areas:

• A practical working knowledge of principles and standard practices within active travel infrastructure including an awareness of spatial planning and transport planning.
• Using recognised technical expertise to produce project outputs (for technical roles).
• Knowledge of local and regional transport planning authorities and their processes and priorities.
• Knowledge of active travel network design and best practise.
• Working knowledge of health and safety legislation and practice including construction regulations.
• Experience of managing projects and understanding of how to follow the project management delivery frameworks
• Experience of contributing to business development through opportunity generation, bid writing, budget preparation.

Volunteering Matters, in partnership with Active Suffolk and Sport England, is recruiting for a Community Connector to work in the Chantry / Belstead Hills / Stoke Park area of Ipswich

The aim of the role is to gather insights into local people’s lived experiences, particularly around physical activity, by having meaningful conversations in everyday settings like cafés, outside schools, and at community events. These insights will help shape future initiatives that support community wellbeing and development.

Ideal candidates will have strong local ties—preferably living in the area they work—and be confident, approachable, and proactive. The role involves identifying community needs, building local networks, signposting residents to support, and feeding back discussions to project partners.

Flexibility is key, with some evening and weekend work expected. The role reports to the Delivery Leader at Volunteering Matters and works closely with Active Suffolk’s Development Officer for Ipswich. A DBS check will be required before starting.

We are recruiting for an Individual Giving Manager to drive and deliver our ambitious fundraising strategy in order to support the work of Life. About You

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, the postholder will work closely with colleagues across the Income Generation and Marketing teams to deliver on a positive donor/ supporter experience with the aim of retention of current supporters for the long-term as well as acquisition of new donors, maximising the potential of all of our supporters. It forms a central part of the overall fundraising strategy, with the ultimate aim of growing our individual giving income to increase the impact of the charity and benefit those needing support in pregnancy, pregnancy loss or in the early years of having a baby.

You’ll shape and deliver studies that improve understanding, influence local and national policy, and demonstrate how peer-led approaches can achieve real health equity.

About the role

As Research & Impact Manager, you’ll take day-to-day leadership of our research and evaluation programmes. 

You’ll manage and develop our incredible team of peer researchers, supervise our Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate with the University of Essex, and build partnerships across academia, government, the NHS, and the voluntary sector. 

You’ll also design and deliver evaluations of our programmes, help evidence how lived experience-led services can improve equity in health and care, and support funding bids and grant applications, and the dissemination of impactful research.

You’ll bring both strategic insight and hands-on research skills, ideally with a strong qualitative background. You’ll be comfortable working across academic, policy, and lived experience settings — and you’ll share our deep commitment to social justice and inclusion health.

At the Motability Foundation, we fund, support, research and innovate so that all disabled people can make the journeys they choose.  

We’re building a Transport Solutions Team that can work flexibly across all the tools in our delivery kit – from grants and innovation pilots to research, partnerships, and commercial interventions. This includes a growing portfolio of projects tackling key challenges like inclusive EV charging, complex community transport funding opportunities, and large-scale research such as the National Centre for Accessible Transport.  

We are now recruiting several Grant Managers to join this team and help us deliver our vision. This role works within a dedicated team to assess grant applications from charities and organisations applying to the Motability Foundation for grant-funding to support their work in the disability transport sector. 

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, purpose-led team driving change in the transport system for disabled people and to work on some of the most interesting and impactful projects in the sector. 

What you will be doing:

• Manage grant delivery, including assessment, due diligence, contracting, monitoring, and closure, across our funding rounds.  
• Engage with all levels of applicant and grantee organisations to understand their work, assess their proposals, and provide support and challenge to strengthen delivery and outcomes. 
• Undertake financial, reputational, governance, and operational due diligence in line with our policies and risk appetite. 
• Produce high quality assessments of applications for review by our grant panels, including award recommendations.
• Work with applicant organisations to develop and agree contractual grant agreements. 
• Manage and monitor multi-year grant awards to ensure objectives and KPIs are achieved within agreed timescales and budgets.
• Ensuring all of our data records are kept up-to-date including reconciling payment schedules to grant records. 
• Work closely with colleagues across the TST to provide insight from delivery into programme development, and to learn from others’ work across research, innovation and partnerships. 
• Staying abreast of key issues facing the disability and transport sectors, to understand how these shape and influence applications to Motability’s grant programmes. 
• Support delivery of non-traditional funding mechanisms such as challenge prizes, research calls, or commercial commissioning approaches, contributing to assessment and management. 

Your experience:

• Experienced in assessing, managing, monitoring and evaluating grant applications or similar roles related to charitable grant making. 
• Understanding of not-for-profit structures, including charities, social enterprises and other not-for-profit organisations. 
• Experience in writing a variety of styles including academic, reports, and impact.
• Demonstrable ability to prioritise when faced with a continuous flow of applications and variable work load.
• Experience of effectively engaging at all levels within applicant organisations leading discussions where necessary. 
• Good with numbers, and the ability to understand and interpret budgets and accounts.
• Able to engage with grant applicants and build an ongoing positive rapport. 
• Strong IT skills including experience working with the MS Office suite. 
• Experience within the disability sector and/or direct or indirect experience of the mobility challenges faced by disabled people would be advantageous, but not essential.
