Job Summary
The role of the Outreach & Development Worker is to ensure carers of all ages and backgrounds are aware of their rights and know how to receive support from Gaddum and other services they need at the right time for them.
The job holder will provide outreach & support sessions, deliver groups and events for carers and other relevant partners across Salford. Creating exciting new opportunities for carers through networking and building partnerships.
Job Purpose
The role will focus on the outreach provision, being based in different locations across Salford including hospitals, community venues, mental health settings and others accessed by people with caring responsibilities. The role will include supporting the continued development of the service, assisting with the creation of resources and training. The role will also support our involvement offer; ensuring carers are at the forefront of service change and service delivery.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Day to day duties:
· Facilitate carers drop-ins in venues across Salford, including but not limited to hospital sites (both on wards and public areas), community venues (such as Gateways) and high footfall locations.
· Provide one-off, solution-focussed appointments to address the immediate needs of carers identified in the community or at the point of referral.
· Create networking opportunities throughout all wards of Salford to publicise the service and build/ maintain relevant partnerships.
· Complete Statutory Carers Assessments.
· To be able to travel to various locations in Salford, at times multiple locations per day – often carrying service promotional materials. Salford is a large city covering 37 sq. miles.
Weekly/ monthly duties:
· To work alongside student social workers on placement, providing mentoring, guidance, and shadowing opportunities as appropriate.
· Create and run exciting events and support groups for carers, organisations and stakeholders to attend.
· Create and deliver service presentations aimed at carers, to communicate the support and opportunities available from the service.
· Create and deliver service presentations aimed at community groups, educational bodies and organisations to raise awareness of how to identify and support carers, and to increase the visibility of the service.
· Develop ways to identify carers across Salford and let them know about support available to them and their needs.
· Invite Carers to be involved with the service and help us to coproduce/ codesign our service offer.
· Get to know Salford’s diverse communities and organisations, providing culturally appropriate information and support.
· Promote Carers Rights to carers, Salford’s communities and relevant organisations.
· Maintain a clear record of work completed by note taking and recording on our recording system.
· To meet regularly with line manager for supervision.
This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
The post-holder will be required to undertake other tasks as reasonably directed by Management and Senior Management Team, which will usually be commensurate with the skills and experience of the post-holder.

Job Title: Community Mental Health Recovery Worker
Location: Based in Catford in a well connected area near Forest Hill and Catford Bridge stations, with nearby bus routes including the 171 and 185. Please be kindly aware there is no step free access at this location and some of our other sites.
Salary: £28,800
Shift Pattern: 37.5 per week on a pro rota between Monday to Sunday on a rota between 08:30 - 21:00. Shift patterns and weekly hours may vary dependent on service and resident requirements. You may be required to work Bank Holidays.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Mental Health Recovery Worker to join our team based in Catford. Penrose Jigsaw Service is a forensic mental health service and work in partnership with South London and Maudsley NHS Trust (SLaM). You will empower and motivate both our male and female residents and participants to achieve their personal goals and gain greater independence, supporting their reintegration into the community. You will provide tailored, person-centred support using a recovery model, ensuring our services are flexible and responsive to individual needs while meeting the expectations of our commissioners and stakeholders.
Your focus is on successful community reintegration and a sustained quality of life, guided by a recovery model that enables clients to live, work, learn, and participate fully in their communities through interactive and preventative approaches. We provide supported accommodation within a forensic step-down service, delivering residential and community-based support. We provide intensive accommodation-based support (six flats) and floating support (dispersed flats) designed to address the complex and challenging needs of our residents and participants. Support includes medication support, supervision, and regular health and safety checks, tailored to meet the complex and challenging needs of our residents and participants.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents at all times
- Focusing on empowering our residents to take control over their lives and meet their personal goals
- Planning activities to engage residents with other people, communities, and opportunities
- Building trusting professional relationships with residents, helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations which could be through tailored one to one sessions, group sessions, in and out of service activities, and general wellbeing check ins

About You

- Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds and/or a good understanding of the sector, particularly mental health and substance dependency

- Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents

Manchester Central Foodbank is a busy Trussell Trust-affiliated food bank, with centres in Central, North, and East Manchester. We were established in Ardwick in 2013 by students at the Manchester Universities’ Catholic Chaplaincy, making us the first student-led food bank in the country. Since then we have grown significantly, expanding our weekly sessions into Harpurhey and Openshaw.
Our core aims are to deliver the best quality support that we can to the largest number of our neighbours in need, while working with partners and influencing and organising at a neighbourhood and citywide level to reduce and end the need for food banks in Manchester.
We currently support 16,000 people per year with nutritionally balanced 3-day food parcels. This is double the number of people we supported in the first year following the Covid-19 pandemic, and four times the number supported in 2019. We also provide financial inclusion support with advice workers in public sessions, access to energy vouchers, SIM cards, and other voucher or material support. We coordinate across a network of 200 active front-line referral agencies with the aim of ensuring everyone who accesses our service has appropriate, specialised, and ongoing support alongside the material provision that we provide.
We are active leaders in anti-poverty organising and community development, as convenors of the city-wide Building an Anti-Poverty Community collective and aim to be key shapers and influencers of new strategies and policies, working closely to support and influence local government, NHS, education, and research agendas in Manchester and more widely, building upon our track record of successful anti-poverty partnership work, social value impact, and Parliamentary influencing.
Key Responsibilities
Our Operations and Projects Workers are the backbone of our charity. They play a key role in the day-to-day running of operations, from frontline and client-facing work to recruiting, supervising, and supporting volunteers, assisting with stock and logistics activities and deliveries, and leading and supporting a range of projects.
A central part of this diverse, hands-on role is leading and supporting foodbank sessions, with extensive engagement with foodbank clients and primary responsibility for supervising, supporting, and developing volunteers.
The Operations and Projects Workers will help shape and maintain high service standards and embed Our Values at the core of every aspect of the charity’s activity.
On a weekly basis the postholder will work to support the smooth running of three public-facing sessions and the operational activities which underpin them. You will work alongside a team of volunteers and staff
You will be based at our main office and warehouse site, but also regularly attend our three session sites where appropriate and conduct deliveries and collections across the city. Some working from home is allowed with the prior agreement of your manager.
Foodbank Sessions
As part of a pre-planned rota system you will attend foodbank sessions in a variety of roles. All team members are expected to prioritise the creation of a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and friendly space.
In some sessions you will be the nominated Session Lead,
- You will be responsible for health and safety, briefing and de-briefing of volunteers and other staff, safeguarding and incident reporting, and dealing with emergency or difficult situations.
- Session leads take an active role in shaping and maintaining our values-led Service Standards and creating a supportive framework for other team members, ensuring all frontline service meets those expectations.
- You will ensure consistent and rigorous monitoring and reporting from sessions, including volunteer registration, stock management, logging and escalation of issues and concerns, also well as consistent reporting on service provision.
- Session Leads will act as the primary liaison and coordination point on the day with advice providers and financial inclusion workers
- They will also be the lead contact point on a session day liaising with host sites and reception staff and other session partner organisations.
- Before, during, and after sessions, the Session Lead will monitor stock levels and ensure packing, loading, and unloading is done safely and consistently.
You may also attend foodbank sessions in a variety of other roles, including, but not limited to:
- Conducting or coordinating one-to-one check-ins and support conversations with clients, responsible for signposting and onwards referrals
- Providing additional support such as energy vouchers, SIM cards, supermarket vouchers, and other provision.
- Delivering and collecting food and other stock and materials to and from session sites and monitoring stock levels.
- Supporting general tasks and activities within sessions, such as packing parcels, referrals check-in, picking lists, or monitoring cafés and adjacent spaces.
General Foodbank Operations
Outside of foodbank sessions, you will lead or support across the broad range of operational and project activities, including:
- Regularly driving the foodbank van and loading and unloading stock and other materials.
- Answering or replying to enquiries from clients, referrers, donors, partners, and other contacts via the main charity phone line and email inboxes.
- Conduct regular office-based administrative, printing, and reporting activities.
- Deputise for senior staff or fill in for other team members where appropriate in day-to-day operational cover and external meetings and relationships, including with foodbank referrers and partner organisations.
- Coordinate and supervise volunteers and logistics around food deliveries, food drives, and food sorting sessions.
- Work and lead on projects to help maintain and increase donation levels.
- In collaboration with other staff, assist volunteer recruitment, training, and development activities.
- Attend and organise meetings and events where required to represent the foodbank or conduct project-related work.
- Undertake training and personal development as appropriate and agreed with your line manager.
The post-holder will be responsible for managing their own workload and time management, completing timesheets and reports for the board.
There may be other project-specific tasks requested from time to time for the benefit of the charity to be discussed and agreed with your line manager.
About you
Essential Experience and Knowledge:
- A full clean driving licence and willing and able to drive a 3.5tn van regularly.
- Experience of working with volunteers.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills in order to coordinate your own workload and schedule, effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with other staff members, volunteers, referrers, and foodbank users.
- Ability to respond to unexpected situations in a busy service delivery environment and make decisions related to health and safety and emergency incidents.
- Ability to independently make and carry out decisions in line with foodbank policies and procedures.
- An enthusiasm for all aspects of work at Manchester Central Foodbank, and the flexibility and willingness to get involved with projects and tasks that may sit outside of your normal work.
- Experience of working with service users in a community setting.
- Proficiency in IT, including email, spreadsheets, and Google Drive.
- A clear understanding of, and belief in the values and aims of, Manchester Central Foodbank and the Trussell Trust.

Single Homeless Project's (SHP’s) Camden Housing First service is expanding, and we’re looking for a passionate and skilled Project Worker to join an innovative team supporting people with long histories of rough sleeping, multiple exclusion and co-occurring needs. This includes a new and important focus on supporting couples who have been rough sleeping and will be accommodated separately in their own self-contained flats, while receiving intensive, relational and trauma-informed support.
Based from King’s Cross, you’ll work across the community and in people’s homes, carrying a small caseload so you can offer flexible, persistent and person-centred support that is shaped around each person’s strengths, safety, needs and goals. You’ll build trust with people who may have had difficult experiences of services, working at their pace while keeping a strong focus on housing sustainment, wellbeing, risk, choice and recovery.
You won’t be doing this work alone. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team and will work closely with statutory services, housing partners and specialist colleagues including health, psychology, Solace, occupational therapy and perpetrator support. With safety at the heart of the work, you’ll play a key role in supporting people where relationships, trauma, exploitation, abuse or external risk may be part of their lives. At SHP, you’ll also have access to learning, reflective practice and development opportunities that help you keep growing your skills while doing meaningful, complex and life-changing work.
About you:
- You have experience supporting people facing multiple disadvantage, including homelessness, trauma, mental ill health, substance use, contact with the criminal justice system or long-term exclusion from services.
- You know how to build trust with people who may be wary of services, using patience, consistency and creativity to keep people engaged without forcing change before they are ready.
- You understand the links between severe and multiple disadvantage, VAWG, coercion, abuse, exploitation and safety, and you can respond in a way that is trauma-informed, boundaried and safeguarding-focused.
- You are a confident advocate and communicator, able to work with partners, negotiate well, challenge when needed and keep the person’s voice at the centre.
- You are organised and self-sufficient in your day-to-day work, with the written, IT and recording skills needed to manage a caseload, update systems clearly and keep support plans moving.

Community Outreach Worker (CSS Housing)

About the Service
Community Outreach Workers support people with complex needs who have Housing issues as a primary need. This includes people who may have drug and alcohol difficulties. Particularly when they are coming into repeat contact with Police, Tenancy Sustainment Services, Housing and Homelessness Services and Environmental Health Services.
The five-day post will be delivered in West Hertfordshire. With the flexibility to travel Hertfordshire County.
The purpose of the Hertfordshire Mind Network Community Outreach Worker role is to:
- Provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients with coexisting drug and alcohol difficulties and mental ill-health. These will be clients who are presenting to the Police, Anti-Social Behaviour, Tenancy Enforcement, Housing and Environmental Health Services within Hertfordshire.
- Ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
- Remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- Embed a person centred and solution focused approach in all aspects of the role.
- Raise greater awareness of complex needs and the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) amongst local service providers. Supporting them to gain confidence in working positively and consistently with people who have multiple needs.

- Annual leave entitlement of 25 days per year pro rata, rising in increments to a max. of 29 days after 5 years employment (plus 8 days Bank Holidays)

About The Role
We’re excited to announce that Sunrise Diversity is recruiting as we expand our work through the See Me project, thanks to 5 years of Lottery funding. Our roles are key to helping us grow our charity, develop new programmes, and increase our capacity for community work.
The post holder will deliver 1-1 support and advocacy to people from diverse groups such as migrants, refugees, the LGBTQ+ community and those who face discrimination or barriers to accessing services due to protected characteristics. St Albans & District Foodbank is an independent charity within the Trussell network, operating nine foodbank centres across the district alongside a central warehouse and home delivery service. Alongside emergency food provision, the Foodbank has developed strong partnership working with Citizens Advice St Albans District, local mental health organisations, statutory services and community groups to create a more joined-up and person-centred support model.
The Reaching Communities partnership between St Albans & District Foodbank, Citizens Advice and Hertfordshire Mind Network aims to provide integrated practical, emotional and wellbeing support within trusted community settings. The partnership focuses on early intervention, reducing repeat crisis, improving access to support and helping people navigate systems before situations escalate further.
About the Role
The Outreach Worker role is intended to feel fully embedded within the Foodbank environment and wider Foodbank Plus model, working relationally and practically alongside the Wellbeing Team, volunteers and partner organisations to support people experiencing hardship and complex life circumstances.
The purpose of the Hertfordshire Mind Network Community Outreach Worker role is to:
- Expand employment, health and wellbeing, and community engagement
- Strengthen existing service provision for financial advice, food security, and homelessness support.
- Build strong local partnerships, volunteer networks, and stakeholder relationships.
- Deliver measurable outcomes for residents, with a focus on those experiencing deprivation and marginalisation.
- To provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients with coexisting drug and alcohol difficulties, mental ill-health, these will be clients who are presenting to the police, anti-social behaviour, tenancy enforcement, housing and environmental health services within Hertfordshire.
- To ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- Embed a person centred and solution focused approach in all aspects of the role.
- To raise greater awareness of complex needs and the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) amongst local service providers. Supporting them to gain confidence in working positively and consistently with people who have multiple needs.

About the role:
The Floating Support Worker will specialise in working with women for whom housing, and risk of tenancy breakdown is a priority. You will provide specialist housing and domestic abuse support to women aged 18 and over. The accommodation needs of the women you support will require you to advocate and support for each woman efficiently and empathically, whilst liaising with providers and stakeholders to ensure her accommodation needs are met. The role is dynamic and requires the post holder to respond to women with effective crisis intervention, advocacy and support. They will be required to coordinate the provision of multiagency support which focuses on working with clients to maintain their tenancies and prevent homelessness. The post holder will establish positive, proactive, and innovative working relationships with housing services and partner agencies.
The Floating Support Worker will ensure that the women survivors views and needs inform every stage of the process, and so the post holder will be empathic, empowering and able to advocate for women. You will also share your learning with your team, Advance and other stakeholders to ensure best practice is consistently achieved.
Working as part of a team of Floating Support Workers, you will make proactive contact and provide high quality non-judgemental advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment. You will be responsible for a number of women at a time and you will be their designated and consistent support worker. You will also support women and referrers at the first stage of referral by completing assessments and providing crisis intervention support as part of a ‘duty’ team with designated days for you to do this.
The Floating Support Worker will have an excellent understanding of domestic violence and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse and the housing sectors. As an experienced domestic abuse advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, you will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information appropriately.
Experience of supporting female survivors of domestic violence with housing and accommodation needs, in partnership with other organisations, and of safeguarding procedures is essential for this post.

The hospital to home service works collaboratively with hospitals to support people when they are discharged from hospital to return home. As a Hospital to Home Outreach Worker, you will provide temporary, practical and emotional support to service users within their home and make sure they understand the care and local community services available to them.
The service is time limited, usually up to 4 or 6 weeks, to adjust and settle back in their homes.
Key Tasks

Assess the needs of service user’s either in hospital before discharge, or in their homes, and understand what barriers and enablers there might be to moving home.

This is a full-time role in a well-established charity based in Twickenham. This role would suit someone who wants to have the opportunity to work flexibly and build their career in the Charity sector with experience of working in social care.
Richmond Carers Centre has the mission to help unpaid adult carers to live a full, active and meaningful life by providing them with advice, information, activities, breaks and emotional support either face to face, by phone or by email to enable them to live well.
As an Adult Carers Support Worker, you will be part of a small, dedicated team and take a lead on providing emotional support to adult carers and a commitment to enhancing their health and wellbeing. Much of your work will involve actively listening to carers, often via the phone support line, providing information, advice and support. As part of the Adult Carers Support Team, you will also be involved in organising breaks for carers, outreach activities and leisure events, as well as group work to help enhance carers’ health and wellbeing. Part of the role will also aim to improve the identification, recognition and understanding of the needs of adult carers, raise the profile of adult carers and ensure adult carers needs are met. You’ll also be expected to work with our volunteers and to use appropriate monitoring and evaluation reports to show our funders what we’ve achieved.
You will be someone:
- Who works in a person-centred way.
- Is enthusiastic, empathetic and detail conscious
- Communicates well by phone and in person
- Has an understanding of social care particularly in relation to carers
- Has experience of working with clients who have support needs
- Has experience of producing reports for monitoring and evaluation
- Is numerate and has knowledge of budgeting
- Is able to gather and assess information efficiently and think creatively to come up with solutions.
- Has good communication skills including spoken, written and presentational
Main Duties include:
- To provide a regular telephone support-line, face-to-face and email support, offering appropriate, generic advice
- To offer a range of service delivery options and be involved in providing those options e.g., breaks, group work, leisure activities or other outreach activities
- To encourage and assist carers and those they care for to access Care Needs Assessments and Carers Assessments and to take up services that will enhance their lives
- To complete individual grant applications with carers for respite or if they are experiencing financial hardship due to the cost-of-living crisis
- To work where appropriate with other service providers/agencies to promote the carer agenda or jointly deliver carer support issues
- To be proactive in the registration of carers living or caring for someone within the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames
- To keep accurate records of group and individual carer engagement for monitoring and evaluation purposes
- To participate in key events organised by Richmond Carers Centre and other relevant partners to promote services to a wider public
