We’re looking for a Community Coordinator to take ownership of a group of WeSwim clubs, playing a central role in building and supporting a thriving, connected community around them. 

This is a role for someone who is excellent at relationship building and enjoys being at the heart of things. You’ll work closely with disabled swimmers, volunteers and our pool partners to create a welcoming, inclusive and seamless experience from first contact through to regular participation. 

You’ll coordinate sessions, support swimmers into the water, build strong local relationships, and help clubs grow through outreach and community engagement. 

Alongside keeping things running smoothly, you’ll be out in the community, getting to know people, spotting opportunities, and supporting volunteers and swimmers to take part in ways that feel meaningful to them. 

You’ll enjoy juggling multiple priorities, achieving targets, and supporting the growth of a  small, mission-driven organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Club operations & coordination: Coordinate weekly swim sessions across your allocated clubs, making sure sessions run smoothly. Act as the main point of contact for swimmers, volunteers, committees and pool partners, building strong relationships and resolving day-to-day issues. Regularly visit clubs to get to know volunteers and swimmers, understand how sessions are running, and identify any issues or opportunities.

• Swimmer journey & membership: Manage the swimmer journey from application through to first session and ongoing participation. Monitor attendance and engagement and meet recruitment and attendance targets ensuring a balanced flow of swimmers.

• Swimmer recruitment & outreach: Build relationships with local organisations to raise awareness of WeSwim and support referrals. Deliver outreach activity to maintain a steady flow of new swimmers into clubs and waiting lists. Support the setup and launch of new WeSwim clubs by building local awareness and supporting swimmer recruitment, working closely with the wider team.

• Volunteer engagement & club presence: Build strong relationships with volunteers, ensuring they feel welcomed, valued and supported. Support volunteer with regular communications and work closely with the wider team to improve volunteer experience.

• Systems & administration: Maintain accurate club records including membership data and attendance logs. Monitor attendance and impact data to support reporting. Use and improve systems and processes to support efficient coordination and growth.

• Community participation & engagement: Support volunteers, swimmers and supporters to organise and lead their own activities and initiatives (e.g. events, challenges, social activities). Create simple accessible resources that support people to take part and contribute. Be the main point of contact for people who want to get more involved in WeSwim.

Brief role description 

NOVA provides trauma-informed, person-centred support to UK Armed Forces veterans who are at risk of, or already in contact with the criminal justice system. NOVA operates across England (as Op NOVA), Scotland and Wales. We are now developing the service in Northern Ireland.

The Caseworker for NOVA Northern Ireland will manage and support a caseload of veterans, providing emotional and practical support across a range of factors including mental health and wellbeing, social stability, housing and employability. They will be working in collaboration with local partners to reduce reoffending.

The Caseworker for NOVA Northern Ireland will work in the community, in partnership with the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), the Probation Board for Northern Ireland (PBNI) and other local partners to provide support to veterans at all stages of the justice pathway: pre-arrest, point of arrest, court process, custody, and transition back into the community.

About the role

Reporting in to the Government and Multi-Lateral Funding Manager, the Government and Multi-Lateral Funding Advisor will drive substantial growth in income and impact outcomes by actively engaging and cultivating strong relationships with existing and new Institutional funding partners, co-creating and bidding with our Multi-Country Cluster (MCC) and Global Programmes teams.

The role supports development and delivery of the government and multilateral funding strategy for Christian Aid positioning Christian Aid and its partners to secure multi-million awards to maximise impact.

The post-holder will actively engage and cultivate strong relationships with existing and new Institutional funding partners, co-creating and bidding with MCC’s and Global Programmes teams, and will lead  on business capability statements and online donor account registrations.

Some of the main areas of responsibility for the Government and Multi-Lateral Funding Advisor are:

• Working with Government and Multi-lateral Funding Managers, Partnerships and Business Development Lead and Heads of Impact to implement an ambitious strategic framework to enhance engagement and build strong partnerships with agreed Government and Multilateral Funding Partners (including Global Climate Funds, UN, World Bank, Regional Development Banks, Bilateral donors including UK and devolved Governments, European and other Governments) in key areas for collaboration, ensuring alignment with organisational goals to drive impactful results.
• Build and maintain a forward opportunity pipeline for Christian Aid’s institutional funding, collaborating closely with CA Ireland to maximise funding growth.
• Support agreed Supplier Framework Agreements working with MCC Business Development Managers in taking forward pipeline opportunities.
• Collaborate across the Partnerships and Business Development Team and MCC BD Team on tenders and grants, leading bid preparation and ensuring alignment with funding requirements.
• Conduct donor mapping approaches to strengthen long-term financial growth.
• Identify and analyse funding opportunities, providing strategic insights and competitive analysis to maximise Christian Aid’s positioning.
• Support or lead the development of high-quality funding proposals, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and fostering co-creation with partners.
• Lead on global business capability statements and content across Christian Aid programme priorities ensuring these are up to date on the CA intranet and website and available and adaptable for bid teams and business development roles to use. This can include work with internal and external designers as required.
• Leads on key online donor accounts and portals management supporting Government and Multi-lateral Funding Manager(s) and Business Development Managers (MCC).

We are looking for a training and conference lead who will design and implement our training and
conference programmes. You will work with community organisations to understand their legal
needs and tailor the training to give advisers the tools they need to help their communities. You will
work with lawyers and legal advisers to develop resources and training that are practical, holistic and
comprehensive and delivered through a range of online and in person methods.
You will be passionate and enthusiastic about access to justice with a training and development
background. You will lead on the development of a new range of resources for the wider access to
justice community with a focus on housing issues. You will also work closely with other staff to reimagine
and represent existing content in new ways. As LAG is at the heart of the social justice
lawyering community, the successful candidate will work closely with our partner organisations

Volunteer Centre Hackney is a thriving charity (annual income circa £1.1m, with 29 paid staff) providing volunteering infrastructure to the voluntary sector across the City of London and the London borough of Hackney. We support over 1500 residents a year to realise their skills and passions through volunteering and social action, and to share these for the benefit of others. We also provide volunteering resource, and advice and guidance on best practice in volunteer management, to hundreds of charities and community organisations.

Through our specialist programmes, our impact on the lives of residents is huge. We match volunteers to housebound residents to help them engage with communities and leave their homes; we provide long term personalised support to people with mental health conditions and learning disabilities to help them volunteer and find paid jobs; we support patients to deliver hundreds of their own activities and peer support groups at GP practices across City and Hackney; and in partnership with Public Health, we support over 250 Community Health Champions to share vital health messaging with their own diverse communities.  

This is a hands-on and strategic role for an experienced fundraiser who thrives in a small to medium sized charity environment. You will have autonomy to develop a whole new fundraising strategy, utilising diverse fundraising methods, and building and developing new project ideas and partnerships. You will lead on income generation primarily through sourcing and applying to multiple trusts and foundations, but diversified by building new corporate partnerships, community campaigns and individual giving. You will build authentic relationships with funders and supporters, and together with VCH colleagues, will identify new programme models as ways to generate income. You will contribute to the development and production of compelling stories, evidence and marketing and build and maintain the infrastructure needed to track and achieve progress against annual income targets.

Post holders need to have excellent communication skills, to represent the charity in writing and in person. You must be enthusiastic, self-motivating and confident to work primarily alone, but also able to engage and collaborate with staff from across the organisation to share information and impact evidence to support your role. If you are successful in securing funding there will be the potential to recruit additional support, and for you to become the Head of Fundraising of a small team.

About the role
The Chief Programmes and Communities Officer will lead the charity’s Programmes and Communities Division. This division oversees our work with pupils, university students and parents, so that we can support young people from less-advantaged backgrounds to access and thrive at competitive universities. It is also home to our Research and Impact team, who ensure that our programmes are making an impact on the lives of young people and that our expertise is utilised externally to enhance best practice in the sector.

The Chief Programmes and Communities Officer will be responsible for ensuring high quality delivery across our programmes, ensuring we maximise our impact on the young people and communities we support. They will also bring our programmes and communities work closer together to strengthen the impact we have in the places of greatest need. They will represent The Brilliant Club externally, leading the Programmes and Communities Division to sustain and build partnerships with schools, universities and other stakeholders to enable the organisation to meet its growth targets.
This role holder will also be a member of the Executive Leadership Team. They will be collectively responsible for driving forward our strategic priorities, building our organisational culture and supporting the charity’s financial and reputational success. The role holder will report into the Chief Executive Officer and work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Engagement Officer, as well as engaging with our Board of Trustees throughout the year.
