Summary

The Vision and Strategy Team at the National Church Institutions are looking to hire a Monitoring and Evaluation Lead to join their fast growing team. The purpose of this role is to oversee the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of the SMMI grant-making programme to support the delivery of the Church of England's Vision and Strategy. Working with dioceses, external partner organisations and colleagues across the Vision and Strategy team, the postholder will build capacity around implementing M&E good practice for funded programmes and beyond, to ensure effective programme design, monitoring of performance, gathering of information and supporting the release of lessons learned to catalyse wider change within the Church.

The postholder will set M&E policies and direction working closely with their line manager (Head of Grants). They will manage one line report (Monitoring and Evaluation Operations Manager) that will be responsible for ensuring evaluations are effectively undertaken by external evaluators and delivering a limited set of evaluations and mid-term reviews.

The role is critical in providing trustees full confidence in the use of funding and its impact through monitoring and evaluation. This is a strategically important role, as it directly consolidates emerging learning to further support the Church's Vision and Strategy.

About the Department/Role

The Vision and Strategy Team has been established to support the whole Church in its embrace of and engagement with the national Vision and Strategy for the Church for the 2020s, and to support the implementation of the Emerging Church programme. The Vision and Strategy has three strategic priorities: to be a church of missionary disciples, to be younger and more diverse, and to develop a mixed ecology - doing church in varied forms and settings.

The Vision and Strategy team consults on and the Funding and Learning sub-team manages one of the largest grant-making programmes in the country, with £100m + of Strategic Mission and Ministry Investment (SMMI) disbursed annually to support the Church's mission and ministry across England, prioritising investment in the most deprived communities. The SMMI funding includes the Diocesan Investment Programme (DIP) which provides funding for dioceses to enable the bold outcomes and strategic priorities of the Vision & Strategy to become a reality in parishes and communities through programme funding, and smaller Capacity grants. The SMMI funding also includes the People and Partnerships Funding, awarded to partners and networks to help overcome national challenges, by scaling up successful work or innovating, to better support the local church in delivering the Vision & Strategy bold outcomes, and the Lowest Income Communities Funding to sustain and strengthen the Church's mission with low income and deprived communities.

What you'll be doing

• Responsible for the overall approach to M&E to both support the impact and assessment of SMMI funded projects and programmes.
• Develop the pool of evaluators used for baselining and evaluations, owning relationships and ensuring new contractors have synergy and sympathy with the Church of England's ways of working.
• Forward plan overall M&E work and oversee reviews of specific streams of funding and ensure the effective gathering of independent feedback from grantees.
• Work closely with the Head of Grants to make sense of the evaluations emerging in terms of overall Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning strategy and cost-effective use of budget

Role Context and Purpose

Following recent and projected growth of the organisation, Gaddum is looking to recruit additional resource within the Central team to bolsters its support to the organisation ensuring delivers safe and high quality services.

The post holder, line managed by the Finance and Resources Director will join the finance team and play a crucial role in the day-to-day financial administration of the charity. You will also play a key role in improving our financial systems and process as we continue to grow. This is a 35 hours per week role, working flexibly and hybrid to suit the needs of the organisation and individual.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

General

• Ensure robust financial administration of all supplier payments and funder receipts including all entries into accounting system to relevant programme and project budgets and the subsequent filing of all payment documentation.

• To provide a professional and comprehensive service in dealing with finance queries raised by suppliers, customers and funders Accounts Payable

• Ensure goods and services invoiced have been ordered and charged in accordance with the approved purchase order • Raise regular BACs payments, ensuring all creditors are paid in accordance with internal policies

• Fulfilling orders and booking requests using company credit card on an adhoc basis

• Record all transactions on SAGE

• Reconcile the creditors account on a regular basis Accounts Receivable

• Ensure all invoices are processed in line with requests

• Record all receipts in SAGE

• Manage credit control function, ensuring that all debts are received in line with internal policies and procedures

Cash Management & Bank

• To oversee the distribution of petty cash when required and reconcile receipts

• Perform bank reconciliation on a regular basis and ensure all payment information is updated

• To support the Finance Assistant (Trust and Grants) in periods of absence

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• To meet regularly with Finance & Resources Director for supervisions

• Undertake additional duties within competence of post holds as required by the Finance & Resources Director

As our Engagement Lead, you will work with the Head of Wellbeing to review, evolve and drive forward the way we bring young people into our services at OTR.

Alongside your team you will proactively engage young people with the work we do. You will have a particular focus on young people who are underserved by support organisations and, in line with our strategy, will be tasked with finding ways to reduce the barriers some young people face to accessing our support.

Re-engage has just launched a new five-year strategy which will have growth at its heart. We’re looking for an exceptional person to join our team as Supporter Care Officer and be a vital part of this exciting phase of our development.
 
This is a new role within a growing fundraising team which is aiming to significantly grow income to achieve our growth strategy. Reporting to the Individual Giving Manager, your main responsibility will be to develop relationships with individual and community donors, and legacy pledgers. Your personalised approach and friendly manner will help them feel valued, understand the life changing difference they make and deepen their connection to our work reducing loneliness in later life. As part of your role, you will also have opportunity to support the Individual Giving Manager with fundraising activities.
 
Key responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for supporters and build good relationships with them - respond to queries, take donations, and support them in their fundraising.
• Develop a programme to regularly thank donors for their support and find out more about them, including a schedule of supporter phone calls and sending a donor survey.
• Make sure all individual, community and legacy gifts are recorded correctly on our CRM and thanked within a timely manner. Look for new ways to thank donors in a way that surprises and delights.
• Develop and implement personalised stewardship plans for donors and legacy pledgers to provide regular updates that demonstrate their impact or help to build engagement ahead of a fundraising appeal.
• Work with the Individual Giving Manager to communicate with one-off donors about how they can set up a regular gift, and to regular givers about how they can increase their gift.
• Provide support on the production of fundraising appeals, identifying potential stories to use, writing briefs and liaising with suppliers, producing mailing lists and analysing results.
• Work with the Individual Giving Manager to develop and implement marketing plans for challenge events, community, in memory and legacy fundraising, planning regular content throughout the year and identifying key times to promote specific activity.
• Look for opportunities to incorporate legacy messaging into other communications with donors, volunteers and older people.
• Support on the development of new KPI and reporting frameworks, and help to update results for post-campaign and ad-hoc data analysis projects.
• Keep up to date with developments in direct marketing and fundraising practise. Comply with the Fundraising Regulator Code of Fundraising Practice and charity/fundraising law at all times.

 
You may be required to undertake other duties that fall within the nature of the role and responsibilities of the post. There may be occasional out of hours work required.

Role purpose

As an experienced Salesforce Administrator with strong development and project delivery skills, you'll be the go-to expert for maintaining, improving, and scaling our Salesforce platform to support service delivery, reporting, and insight. Purpose of the role

At NEON we believe that organising is crucial if we’re to build the power we need to win a new economy and deepen cross-community solidarity at a time of political polarisation. A central part of our new strategy - and this role -  is to support movement organisations and organisers to build their capacity to do what we call Transformative Organising - where we transform the conditions we live in, transform ourselves and transform who has power in society. We use a combination of trainings, 1-2-1 mentoring and strategic partnerships with movement organisations to give organisers the tools, skills and confidence they need to build a base with those at the sharp end of the crisis, develop politically conscious leaders, and plan strategic & escalating campaigns that win. You’ll work with our Head of Organising and colleagues in the Movement Building Hub to scale up this offer over the coming years, with a particular focus on the housing, climate and migration movements, as well as supporting movements to tackle a rising far-right. 

What you will be doing

1. Deliver organising trainings to social movement organisers and campaigners, using content from our Transformative Organising programme and working closely with our Head of Organising and NEON trainers. These will be a mix of shorter workshops and multi-day trainings, blending in-person and online delivery, and you will be supported to experiment with different delivery models to meet movement needs. 

2. Work in partnership with organisers, organisations and coalitions to build their organising capacity over the long-term, through ongoing mentoring and hands-on support and training.

3. Conduct extensive 1-2-1s with movement organisers, to strengthen relationships, explore opportunities for collaboration and understand movement needs. 

4. Support the development of a network of UK-based organisers, and create spaces for collective learning and ensure NEON’s organising offer meets the needs of organisers on the ground.

5. Work with the Head of Organising to periodically review and update NEON’s Transformative Organising content, staying responsive to movement needs and incorporating the latest organising practices and tools. 

6. Organise public events on organising topics, including webinars and workshops, bringing together organisers from across social movements

7. Contribute to the Movement Building Hub’s wider work, including the organising components of our Worker-led Transition programme and our work to build the strategic capacity of movement leaders and organisations. This role will also contribute to cross-organisational work in NEON’s key focus areas (migration, housing, climate, and tackling the rise of the far-right), as well as projects to support the development of NEON’s internal culture. 

Who you are
