Job description

We are looking for a coordinator to join our established community transport scheme. Dial 2 Drive is a low-cost service supporting older people and vulnerable adults to maintain their independence. We arrange volunteer drivers support clients to attend medical appointments, health activities and community services, go shopping and meet up with friends. 

You will supervise day-to-day operations and processes, and help oversee the work of office volunteers and junior staff, ensuring the service runs smoothly. The office team manage phone and email enquiries and bookings, and talk to multiple clients and volunteer drivers every day. As coordinator, you will prepare client invoices, chase debtors, process driver expenses, and help recruit and manage volunteers. You should be able to deal with unexpected issues and then refocus on the task at hand.

The role requires a confident communicator, great customer service, efficient organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to maintain excellent records using our bespoke database and scheduling system. You should also have experience of or be ready to support and mentor volunteers and others.

There will be opportunities to promote the service and you should be confident to plan activities, deliver presentations and develop networks. You will be based in our Tunbridge Wells office and a car driver essential.
