We are looking for someone to champion sustainability across the organisation and lead the development and implementation of Plantlife’s carbon footprint reduction programme aswell as provide professional support to colleagues across a range of administrative functions. 

This is an interesting, varied role within the finance and operations team and the role is key in enabling colleagues to work effectively, efficiently and safely by providing the right accommodation and equipment and serving on the Health, Safety & Welfare Committee. The role also provides support within the finance team, helping to maintain the smooth running of the busy function.

Who are we looking for?

We are offering the role hybrid- Salisbury office and home working.There will be a requirement to attend our Salisbury office at least once a week and there will be occasional travel across the UK.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and committed Business Development Manager to join our growing charity. Responsible for winning new business and retaining existing contracts to achieve financial and growth targets, this is a pivotal role at Kinship. If you are self-motivated, have experience of producing high quality, successful bids, can think strategically, and love to work collaboratively across teams, we want to hear from you.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead on all commissioning activity at Kinship directly with commissioners and through tendering activity.

• Lead and support the creation of high-quality bids including writing technical questions and method statements.

• Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of Kinship, the external environment, and kinship carers and integrate this knowledge into business development activity and bid production.

Essential requirements include:

• Experience of successful bid production and bid management – from identification of opportunity through to submission. Track record in successful tendering for retention of contracts and new business.

• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal. Able to articulate and translate complex ideas and service delivery models into compelling, structured, and high-quality written propositions.

• Ability to analyse large volumes of information to develop clear and compelling bids and proposals.

Background - Number Champions

We set up Number Champions in 2018 to transform the lives of children in state primary schools who struggle with numeracy or lack confidence in maths.  We employed our first staff member, our Head of Operations (HoO), in 2022 and our second, an administrator, in 2023.. 

We are the only charity systematically working in-person with young children in our field.  Early support will put children on track to achieve their full life potential in a world where some fluency with maths is an essential building block. Success in this one area can increase their self-esteem and their involvement in education as a whole. 

Now in our sixth year, we are working across 14 London boroughs in 32 partner schools, with over 110 In-School Volunteers supporting more than 300 children. We plan to increase these numbers each year. Our medium-term vision is to expand across London, while maintaining the highly positive impact we have achieved to date. 

We are proud to have received two national awards last year recognising the work of our volunteers, and we are currently shortlisted for a 2024 award.

Everyone at Number Champions is passionate about improving children’s educational and life chances. 

 

The Administrator role 

Our HoO has taken the lead in developing the charity and in giving us the capacity to expand further while maintaining quality of delivery. The administrator reports to the HoO and manages the bulk of the administration processes of the charity.  

The role is for an equivalent of 2 days a week, during school term-time only. It will be almost all remote, although you will be expected to attend occasional meetings in Central London (or possibly North London if that is more convenient for you).We therefore are looking for candidates living in Greater London as this gives maximum flexibility for both the employee and the charity.

We intend the role to be permanent, but we are offering an 11-month contract September to July pending confirmation of funding. 

Impact on the organisation 

You will take on key responsibilities for administration and for contact with different groups of stakeholders. In a small professional team, you will have the opportunity to suggest ideas and to influence the development of the charity.

Core responsibilities 

• Manage the administration processes of onboarding volunteers and schools
• Gather, capture, and maintain the charity’s data in our management system
• Communicate with volunteers and with office and finance staff at partner schools
• Raise invoices
• Manage basic bookkeeping
• Assist in purchasing
• Provide occasional cover for other staff, as required
• Other activities as required from time to time to support the HoO, SRM, and charity.

Required skills and experience 

• Administrative or professional background
• Attentiveness to accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (and knowledge of Google Suite would be advantageous)
•  Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive working relationships remotely with staff, volunteers, and schools
• Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise
• Commitment to the mission of the charity to help young children with maths.

Basic bookkeeping experience is desirable but not essential.

Benefits 

25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, prorated for a 2-day-a-week role. 

(Although the role is for only 39 weeks a year we will pay you for  33 days annual holiday reduced only by 2/5 for working 2 days a week.  This increases your take home pay by about 4% compared to also reducing holidays by 39/52 for weeks worked.)

Employer’s contribution to pension of 3%.

About CleanupUK  

We’re a small charity that brings communities together to create cleaner, connected and safer urban and rural neighbourhoods by tackling the litter problems where they live. Litter-picking brings people closer together, enables neighbours to meet one another other and helps create a greater sense of pride and community in local areas.

Historically, we have delivered litter-picking focussed community engagement projects in London and Birmingham. Our current focus is developing partnerships with community organisations across England to expand our reach and increase impact.

Main duties of the role 

• To provide a pro-active, high-quality administration and support service to the Operational Team, Chief Executive and the Corporate Partnerships team. 

Operational Team: Deals with logistics, processes and day to day functions of our work on the ground with community partners and volunteers. 

• To attend weekly team meetings 

• To assist in research into new areas of operation for the charity. 

• To oversee orders of equipment and printed resources to our partners with various suppliers around the country.

• To maintain meticulous records regarding our growing national Cleanup Hub network of community partners.

• To use Mail Chimp to send mailers to our partners and followers. 

• Database Management, to take a pro-active role in our upcoming database development project, considering how best to structure, store and export data. Following the launch of the database lead on database development and maintenance, such as an annual data cleanse.

• To assist with setting up, maintaining and updating database information, Community Cleanup Hub registrations, profiles and filing systems, ensuring that data handling complies with GDPR requirements. 

• To assist with staff recruitment and induction processes. 

Chief Executive: leads our strategic direction / reports to the Trustees 

• To organise board meetings; booking diary dates, venues, catering and taking minutes. 

• To attend and take detailed minutes at board meetings and any other meetings required. 

• To process invoices, expense claims and credit card statements. 

• To assist with staff recruitment and induction processes. 

Corporate Partnerships: manages relationships with our corporate partners

Location: Home or office (Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire) working available. This role is available fully remotely.

Hours of work: This role is offered between 15 and 36.25 hours per week. This will be discussed with candidates at the interview.

The Welfare Scheme Assessor will be a part of a small, but committed team with big ambitions that works cohesively and effectively together to get things done.

Do you have a track record of delivering accurate, reliable, administrative and project support in a fast moving environment? 
We are looking for someone with experience of working in a collaborative way to join the Marketing and Brand team as Project Administrator on a 12-month fixed term contract basis.  You'll support the day-to-day running of the team by providing effective administration and project planning. 

This role is varied and the successful postholder will be responsible for scheduling external and internal meetings, liaising with key internal and external stakeholders, preparing reports, setting agendas and minute taking for meetings and financial administration. You'll also work with the Project Lead to provide project support to achieve implementation of key improvement projects.
 

We would like you to:

• Support the Marketing and Brand Director and Project Lead with managing project workflow (for example task tracking, updating and delegating tasks), sourcing and collating feedback and reporting as required.  
• Manage the Director Marketing and Brand’s diary including booking meetings, setting and minute-taking for key meetings.  
• Organising regular team meetings and events such as away days (booking meeting spaces, agenda, refreshments, liaising with attendees, etc)  
• Process our credit card costs and keep our budget tracker updated.

Working in a hybrid way, you’ll be attached to either our Birmingham, London or Manchester office and will report to the Project Lead.  In line with our current ways of working, you’ll be expected to be in the office at least 1 day a month, in addition to team days and this may be reviewed by Ambition.

The Volunteering Team is a collaborative and supportive team sitting within Shelter’s Equity, Inclusion & Culture Directorate. We are passionate about the positive impacts of volunteering for both individuals and causes and believe volunteers are a vital part of Shelter’s Fight for Home.

About the Role

As a Volunteering Administrator, you will be essential to the coordination of the Volunteering Team’s work in developing a consistent, inclusive and high-quality volunteering offer. You’ll be delivering administrative support across the team, enabling smooth delivery of the service. This will include managing our busy Mailboxes, processing elements of volunteer recruitment and administrating our volunteer database, Better Impact. Working on the database forms a large part of this role; as well as routine tasks such as data reporting, you’ll be working on more in-depth database development. This includes leading on a piece of work restructuring the way our database is set up.

You’ll also be supporting volunteer managers through delivering training demonstrations on our database, creating process guides and providing advice. About you

Having strong administration skills with confident use of databases is essential for this role. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership in processes, including introducing and delivering new ideas, methods or processes. Also important for this role is having excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues across our organisation. Main responsibilities will include:

Administration

• Be responsible for securing contracts by confirming booking information and working with the Head of Budgets, Contracts & Policy to ensure freelance trainer contracts and Service Agreements are in place

We are seeking a Payroll & Finance Administrator to assist the Executive Director: Finance and Resources with completing administration and payroll tasks to ensure a smooth running Finance Team.

You will administer aspects of donations and income, post donations received into our CRM system liaising with the Director of Fundraising, conduct Gift Aid claims, generate reports and utilise the CDS system to ensure all data is correctly entered and support given to all administrators.

You will administer the payroll and receipt system. Additionally, you will reconcile all costs, generate invoices and check that timesheets, holidays and absence are recorded correctly. This role requires you to work Monday to Friday but you must be willing to be flexible as and when required.

You must have a minimum of five A*-C GCSE passes, including Mathematics and English (or equivalent). Additionally, good IT skills, especially in Excel and administrative, recording and reporting skills are essential for this role.

This is a challenging but important and rewarding job because our team members know they are working hard to help transform the lives of some of the most vulnerable people. -Administration for the Steer Clear team, including organising meetings to triage young people and taking minutes

-Organising and inputting data for the Climb Service to support commissioner reports

-Working alongside the other administrative assistant to complete administrative tasks that arise in the team
