We are recruiting a Project Coordinator with the Learning and Skills team at the Institute of Physics on a fixed term basis for 18 months. This is a full-time position, although a part time request will be considered, with scope for flexible working across 35 hours a week.
This new position will support the Learning and Skills team in its mission to build a thriving, diverse physics teaching community and will see you working across multiple projects to help ensure that all people, no matter their background or where they live, have access to world-class physics education and training.

What will I be doing?
- Project coordination – working with the Implementation Manager, you will provide support for a number of projects across the department.
- Stakeholder management for the IOP School Affiliation scheme & Community of Physics Teaching.
- Event management - this will involve supporting online and in-person events, managing event bookings, liaising with event venues and event contributors, managing budgets, liaising with colleagues for promotion and evaluating impact.
Projects you work on may include:
- Administration of our physics teaching community. responsibilities will include the maintaining of electronic mailing lists, the drafting of e-newsletters and the organisation of in-person community events.
- Coordinating the Physics Teacher Educator programme - a programme designed to develop those who work to support teachers of physics. Responsibilities include managing relationships with participants, providing support as they progress through the programme.
- Management of the IOP Affiliation Scheme: a paid-for service to support teachers which includes the provision of the IOP publication “Classroom Physics”. Responsibilities include managing subscriptions, invoicing schools, and maintaining mailing lists.
Who will I work with?
- You will be line managed by the Implementation Manager and work with them on projects across the Department.
- You will support the Strategic Lead for Retention and Professional Community and Strategic Lead for Pedagogy and Professional Practice in the delivery of their projects.
- In the delivery of external events you will support and work with our Professional Support Coaches who are based across England and Wales

The service delivers transport home, settle in visits, follow up and community support.
The Service Coordinator will act as the point of contact for the Hospital Discharge and ward teams for referrals. The Service Coordinator will then coordinate the support workers and volunteers to deliver the service - and will be part of the delivery themselves.

What the job involves
The Policy and Health Influencing teams are responsible for using clinical data and evidence to shape what the organisation thinks and to develop solutions that drive change for men with and at risk of prostate cancer. This means working with clinicians, patients and stakeholders to interpret the latest changes in prostate cancer research, care, support and treatment which will help shape our strategic direction and activities.
As the Policy and Health Influencing Coordinator, you're key to supporting these teams. You'll have a varied and far-reaching portfolio of work and sometimes arranging important stakeholder events and meetings ensuring we're hearing from people who've been through prostate cancer themselves. You'll also help share our work on social media and capturing the outcomes of our external engagement.
In this role you’ll assist us in keeping track of and evaluating our progress in line with our organisational strategy, as well as keeping an eye on trends in the wider cancer and health landscape and reporting on them. Plus, you'll handle budget matters and make sure we have effective budget monitoring mechanisms in place.
What we want from you
We’re looking for a Coordinator who is highly organised, an effective communicator and know how to adapt and effectively prioritise your time. You’ll have excellent coordination skills and can organise others too (especially teams which are based across the UK) and have experience of creating and updating forward planners, project schedules and streamlining team processes. You’ll be able to comfortably engage with senior managers and a breadth of external senior level stakeholders. Regularly taking the initiative to drive improvements so that the teams you support can operate efficiently.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to provide support following a stroke.
Position: S11129 Stroke Support Coordinator
Location: Home-based, Chester however, extensive travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Main Areas of Responsibility

We are looking for a Global Resources Coordinator to ensure operations within our global resources team run smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities include providing general administrative support to different teams within Global Resources, manage supply of office resources and equipment, arrange travel, managing relationships with key suppliers, coordinating schedules and meetings and supporting HR administrative duties.
While we classify this role as hybrid, it's worth noting that the vast majority of your work can be done from the comfort of your own home. Occasional in-person visits to our London office (located in Borough High Street), and all-staff gatherings will be necessary. Our full time hours are 34.5 hours per week and we offer core working hours between 10am and 4pm.
Key responsibilities
- Assist staff and visitors with travel booking and coordination when travelling overseas, including booking flights, arranging visas and travel vaccinations.
- Main contact for travel agent building good working relationship.
- Support the Global Resources Director to coordinate and track all insurance policy renewals.
- Liaise with insurance brokers on renewals to ensure competitive costing and ensure timely renewal for all insurance premiums.
- Maintain and order office supplies, stationery, and equipment from the most competitive suppliers.
- Manage and maintain the fixed asset register.
- Assist with recruitment processes, including posting job adverts, preparing weekly vacancy listing, supporting interviews, checking references, and drafting employment contracts.

About the role
This is a vital role supporting the Workforce Development team through the effective coordination of activities associated with a number of initiatives carried out within WorldSkills UK, including the completion of an award-winning pilot programme supporting education institutions to mainstream excellence into the delivery of technical education.

Role purpose
The Project Coordinator will proactively support the programming, coordination and management of a number of projects within the WorldSkills UK portfolio, including the WorldSkills UK Centre of Excellence and Network for Innovation as well as the International Skills Partnership initiatives. The successful applicant will work with the Senior Workforce Development Manager in supporting a team of High-Performance Skills Coaches based across the UK.

Key tasks and responsibilities
1. Programme coordination:
• Acting as the secretariat for the internal Centre of Excellence project team and external steering groups; preparing reports, papers, minutes and actions for monthly and quarterly meetings.
• Contributing to the planning of activities/tasks in accordance with the agreed project plan to ensure delivery on time and to budget, raising purchase orders and tracking spend against forecast.

• Preparing reports for monitoring, evaluation and presentations for the project team, the Steering Group and funders as necessary.

4. Supporting evaluation and impact:
• Providing updates for inclusion in review activity such as project dashboards for internal and external stakeholders and monthly progress updates against the organisational annual plan.

5. International Partners:
