Rotherham Hospital & Community Charity is looking for a passionate, dynamic Fundraising & Engagement Coordinator to drive income, awareness, and engagement across the Trust and wider Rotherham community. The trust is a charity committed to improving social mobility in the UK. Their work is focused on improving social mobility through education opportunities. Their mission is to level the playing field for young people from low-income backgrounds so that they have a fair chance of accessing leading universities, apprenticeships, and jobs. With a three-pronged approach including programmes, research, and policy advocacy, The trust supports nearly 12,000 young people each year and they have been able to work towards keeping social mobility high in the political agenda.

As the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will be responsible for leading some of the largest and most complex partnerships, focusing on delivering shared strategic goals to increase social mobility in the workplace. The corporate partnerships for the charity have been focused on strategic engagement on an organisational level and growth has been achieved through supporting multiple objectives and senior stakeholder relationships, so continuing this line of work will be important in the portfolio. The role will focus on both new business and account management with ambitious individual and team income targets.

To be successful as the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will have proven experience of corporate partnerships fundraising and be able to evidence securing and managing multi-year high value partnerships of six and seven figures. This person will need to demonstrate how they have developed a successful set of approaches to win new corporate partnerships and ideally experience of networking mapping and relationship building with the education and/or non-for-profit sector at the C-suite level.

This role is a full-time permanent position that will have hybrid working in the London offices for at least two days per week. The salary for this role is £49,000 to £55,000.

Who We're Looking For

• Proven experience managing events, ideally in a fundraising, nonprofit, or community context

Trusts & Foundations

• Develop and manage PTCH’s Trusts & Foundations pipeline for cultural programming and Learning & Engagement projects;
•  Research/identify a wide range of income sources to increase the number of funders and grant size;
• Oversee the database, maintaining accurate records to plan and prioritise funding applications;
• Work with the Director, Programming,Head of Learning & Engagement and others to devise high-quality applications and cases for support;
• Oversee the preparation of timely, accurate funder reports in collaboration with relevant teams;

Corporate Sponsorship

• Review the sponsorship offering and create a pitch pack for prospective partners;

• Collaborate across departments to identify projects with sponsorship potential.

Person Specification

• Experience in the charity sector, ideally in an arts or cultural environment;
• Team player;
• Outstanding communicator and persuasive storyteller;

Essential:

• Experience in developing and delivering a fundraising strategy for a similar-sized organisation;
• Proven track record of raising at least £250,000 annually through Trusts & Foundations and individual giving;

The Role

As Fundraising Manager, you’ll play a central role in helping Winning Scotland deliver sustainable growth by identifying and securing new income across trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, statutory and government funding, and public sector contracts.

Working closely with programme leads and the senior leadership team, you’ll research, prioritise, and secure funding opportunities to support the charity’s ambitious growth plans over the next 2–3 years. Role Overview: Fundraising Director 

The successful candidate will lead RLS’s income generation through our next phase of development. You’ll oversee our relationships with key funders, individual giving, our approach to major donors and our communications. You’ll work closely with the Management Team and trustees to set and implement fundraising strategy and highlight and manage risk. 

As a member of the Management Team, you’ll be involved in the day-to-day leadership and oversight of the organisation, with involvement in decisions from strategy to HR, project design and many other aspects of our work. 

Core Responsibilities: 

1. Fundraising strategy and development ○ Lead the development and delivery of RLS’s fundraising strategy to meet our funding targets and deliver our strategy. 

• Meaningfully involve and guide the Management Team, trustees and Fundraising Officer in strategy development and delivery. 
• Develop new funding sources as appropriate. 
• Ensure that funding sources fit with RLS’s values and our moral and ethical fundraising policy. 
• In future, there may be other line management responsibilities as RLS’s staff changes to meet our new strategy. 

2. Organisational leadership

• Work with the Management Team and trustees to lead on the delivery of RLS’s strategic objectives. 
• Work with the Management Team to lead RLS, including finding creative solutions to issues as they arise and ensuring the smooth running of the organisation. 
• Foster a supportive work environment that’s true to RLS’s values. 

3. Lead on funder relationships

• Develop and cultivate relationships with potential funders. 
• Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of funding opportunities to meet our targets and fulfil our strategy. 
• Lead relationships with existing funders, ensuring that they’re regularly engaged and that all reporting deadlines are met. 
• Support the Fundraising Officer to lead on certain funder relationships. 

4. Proposal and application development

• Lead the development of compelling applications and proposals for funders. 
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that all funding applications meet the needs of RLS and align with our strategy. 
• Support the Fundraising Officer to deliver high quality proposals and applications. 

5. Individual giving and major donors

• Work closely with the Fundraising Officer to develop and deliver a high quality individual giving programme to meet our fundraising targets. 
• Manage relationships with major donors and further develop this income stream. 

6. Communications and events

• Work closely with the Fundraising Officer to develop and deliver RLS’s communications strategy. 
• Work with the Fundraising Officer and CEO to oversee and continue to develop RLS’s website. 
• Organise and deliver events from time-to-time to support the delivery of RLS’s fundraising strategy. 

7. Risk management, reporting and record keeping

• Ensure that the Management Team and board have an accurate picture of RLS’s financial position, including a clear picture of risk. 
• Oversee accurate records of funder and donor relationships and income through our CRM. 

8. Representing RLS and occasional travel

• Represent RLS at events from time to time. 
• Occasional travel, potentially including international travel. 

9. Line management

• Provide high quality line management to the Fundraising Officer. 

 In future, there may be other line management responsibilities as RLS’s staff changes to meet our new strategy. 

Person Specification 

• Senior leadership experience in income generation 
• Proven success in securing significant, multi-source funding, including trusts and foundations. 
• Expertise in developing long-term financial strategy and sustainability 
• Experience in shaping and overseeing individual giving campaigns 
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills 
• Ability to find creative, innovative solutions and problem-solve. 
• Strong leadership skills, including the ability to foster a team-wide understanding of and involvement in fundraising. 
• Have a strong commitment to advancing migrant justice. 
• Be an active listener and a progressive leader. 
• The successful candidate will be required to obtain an enhanced DBS certificate (we cover the cost). A criminal record is not necessarily a barrier to recruitment but should be disclosed on application 
• Have the right to work in the UK. 
• Fluent in English. 
• Have lived experience related to migration and/or experience of and relationships in the migrant justice sector (desirable).

What’s on Offer

Reporting to: Managing Director

Remuneration: £40,000  (Pro-rata, part-time, 0.4FTE)

Location: Both Face to Face and Remote, London-based with occasional travel. Coworking office Space in Brixton.

Days and Hours: 0.4FTE, 2 days a week (15 hours/week), Flexible hours, availability to work from the office on Wednesdays, when the core team and young people work at our coworking space in Brixton. Ideally, the working pattern would be Wednesdays and Fridays.

About Breadwinners

Breadwinners is a multi-award-winning social enterprise and charity that supports young people seeking asylum and refugees to have their first work experience in the UK, selling organic baked goods. Since 2016, we have steadily grown, and we are looking for our first Senior Fundraising Manager to help us take the next step in our growth journey. Breadwinner's unique model provides work, training and personal mentors, so that young refugees can start and progress in their careers, using our platform as a stepping stone. We achieve this goal through three consecutive programmes, using our award-winning bread stalls in markets across London and Brighton and wholesale for socially-minded cafes and restaurants.

Over the last 7 years, we have made a significant impact in supporting over 744+ programme participants, with an impressive 93% reporting notable improvements in their overall well-being, 76% of our Breadwinners programme participants progress into work, further education or volunteering, and all this while minimising our Carbon Footprint by 20.5% through the sale of organic goods. This year, we are planning to double our impact with young refugees, with recently secured funding, new markets, and a focus on our wholesale model.

1. Risers programme: A two-month early intervention programme designed to provide structured work experience, training, and mentorship to newly arrived young people seeking asylum through our 18 stalls.

2. Breadwinners programme: The follow-up programme for refugees with the right to work, which involves working as a market stall manager for six months and earning the UK living wage.

3. Proofers programme: A progression programme that entails working remotely as part-time online sales representatives for six months, managing our wholesale delivery model.

We’re looking for someone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young refugees and people seeking asylum. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of strategic thinking, hands-on fundraising experience, excellent communication skills and a strong sense of purpose. You will be working directly with the Managing Director, forming a team with a part-time Fundraising Manager, in direct contact with our passionate Core team, Board of Trustees and volunteers to secure grant funding, and develop our corporate and major donors streams. You will help to drive the growth of Breadwinners and enable the team to deliver a bigger positive impact for young refugees new to the UK.

Responsibilities

Fundraising from Trusts and Foundations

• Identify and research new funding opportunities to build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects.

• Write and develop compelling funding proposals for both new and existing trust and foundation partners.

• Lead on securing six-figure grants for the forthcoming year, working closely with a part-time Fundraising Manager and the Managing Director.

• Collaborate with the Programmes team to create engaging donor reports and impactful communications that reflect the voices of young refugees and our wider community.

• Prepare clear, strategic briefings for senior colleagues ahead of meetings with funders and key stakeholders.

• Produce detailed and accurate impact and financial reports for the Board and funders, ensuring transparency and accountability.

• Understand trends in the fundraising landscape and flag both opportunities and risks. 

• Use Salesforce to manage the fundraising pipeline.

Developing the Corporate and Major Donors Stream

• Help shape and grow Breadwinners’ Corporate and Major Donor fundraising streams.

• Independently manage a portfolio of corporate partners and major donors, ensuring exceptional stewardship, five-figure gifts and year-on-year growth..

• Proactively cultivate a pipeline of new corporate and high-net-worth individuals, using creative approaches to connect them with Breadwinners’ mission.

• Support the successful delivery of corporate partnerships, including employee engagement, staff fundraising, and volunteering initiatives.

• Build and maintain strong, meaningful relationships with external stakeholders, including funders, donors, and volunteers.

• Foster a culture of excellent relationship management and donor care across the organisation.

• Use Salesforce to manage relationships.

Finance

• Help the Managing Director keep a healthy level of restricted and unrestricted funds. 

• Help track progress against income targets and report on performance regularly to the fundraising team.

• Work with the Managing Director and Operations Teams to develop budgets for funding proposals, ensuring all organisational costs are covered.

• Contribute to the management of budgets and assist in preparing forecasts and annual plans.

• Flag risks or opportunities that may affect income generation for the Managing Director.

• Use Xero to manage Profit and Loss at the organisation and funding level.

 Team Support and Collaboration

• Direct line management of a part-time Fundraising Manager, providing guidance, support, and oversight to help achieve fundraising goals.

• Play a proactive role in facilitating a positive, collaborative and high-performing fundraising team culture.

• Participate in programmes, training, participant graduations and delivery to fully support and experience Breadwinners Theory of change and the impact it plays on young refugees. 

• Leverage the experiences of young programme participants sensitively to help steer the fundraising strategy. 

• Work with the Managing Director and Board of Trustees to ensure fundraising plans align with organisational needs and priorities.

• Carry out additional fundraising and administrative tasks as needed to help the MD and team.
