ABOUT THE ROLE

RISE is now seeking a full-time Fundraising Manager to help deliver its fundraising strategy. RISE has a mixed funding model and receives funding from the private sector, philanthropic and corporate foundations, bilateral agencies, and potentially, multilateral institutions. This role will play a pivotal role in executing the fundraising strategy, focusing on proposal development, donor engagement, and day-to-day delivery of fundraising activities.

We are looking for a hands-on, results-driven team member who can turn ideas into actionable proposals, manage multiple workstreams, and follow through to completion. The successful candidate will share RISE’s commitment to advancing equality for women workers in global supply chains and will help scale our impact through sustained, year-on-year income growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As part of a highly matrixed team, effective collaboration across other team functions and particularly with in-country teams and program managers will be critical to success. The Fundraising Manager will report to the Associate Director, Partnerships.

The role includes the following specific responsibilities. These may evolve as priorities are established:

Proposal and Concept Development

• Translate RISE’s strategy into compelling and fundable project proposals and concept notes.
• Lead the day-to-day coordination of proposal development, including drafting project narratives, developing logical frameworks or theories of change, and ensuring alignment with donor requirements.
• Lead or coordinate the preparation of proposal budgets in collaboration with finance colleagues.
• Develop and maintain high-quality fundraising and communication materials.
• Work with the wider RISE team to maintain an active and healthy grant pipeline.

Donor Engagement

• Support the expansion of RISE’s donor base by identifying and pursuing new prospects, particularly among philanthropic foundations, corporate foundations, and bilateral donors.
• Maintain regular communication with current and potential donors, ensuring they are informed and engaged in RISE’s work.
• Support donor outreach and pitch preparation, working closely with RISE leadership and subject matter experts.
• Keep the team informed with up-to-date donor intelligence and funding opportunities.

Fundraising Planning and Coordination

• Implement and operationalize the fundraising and partnership strategy, ensuring effective follow-through on agreed priorities and activities through clear annual workplans developed in collaboration with the Associate Director, Partnerships.
• Contribute insights and lessons learned from day-to-day implementation to inform periodic strategy reviews and planning discussions.
• Drive operational excellence by ensuring systems, tools, and processes for fundraising are efficient and up to date.

EXPERIENCE

• 8–10 years of relevant professional experience, including successful track record in developing and winning grants.
• Proven ability to translate strategic direction into actionable plans and high-quality deliverables.
• Strong writing skills, with experience developing concepts, proposals, and budgets for complex, multi-year projects.
• Good understanding of gender equality, women’s economic empowerment and the private sector’s role in achieving the SDGs.
• Demonstrated knowledge of international donor trends and existing networks across foundations, corporate donors, and governments.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams and cultures.
• Fluent in English (other languages an asset).

The Manager will report to the Associate Director, Partnerships, and work closely with the Leadership team, Country and Program Managers.

About the role

The Media Manager will shape key messages and contribute towards positive media coverage for Christian Aid's policy and advocacy work, for instance on humanitarian crisis contexts, climate, aid and economic justice, aligning with organisational values and goals and to maximize impact.

About You

You will have significant experience of working as a journalist, communications professional or in PR (client or agency side), with a developed ability to produce newsworthy stories, op-eds and press releases for Christian Aid in collaboration with relevant colleagues. You will possess highly developed time and project management skills, strong multi-tasking abilities and strong situational awareness, along with advanced interpersonal, influencing and communication skills, including written, oral and professional networking, particularly with journalists. You will be able to translate potentially dry, academic or specialist material into stories suitable for mainstream media. Desirable experience includes working in a media relations team within a charity or the public or private sector, understanding of the UK government, Parliament and politics, as well as international development and international relations. Additional desirable skills include experience using a content management system and experience of story-gathering in developing countries.

Summary

The National Safeguarding Team provides professional safeguarding advice to the Church of England on matters of national policy as part of its wider transformation plan, which includes the development and implementation of national policy, training, quality assurance and audit, and work with survivors. The national safeguarding team also leads complex casework and supports dioceses in their safeguarding of children and adults.

An investigation by the Independent Inquiry Child Sexual Abuse conducted in 2019 has highlighted some areas for improvement in the Church of England Safeguarding Structure and Practices. This investigation reviewed the extent to which the Church of England and the Church in Wales protected children from sexual abuse in the past. It also examined the effectiveness of current safeguarding arrangements. A public hearing on these specific areas was held in 2019. The report, published in 2020, also drew on the previous two case studies on the Anglican Church, which related to the Diocese of Chichester and Peter Ball. In addition to recommendations made in the case studies, IICSA made eight recommendations in this report, covering areas such as clergy discipline, information-sharing and support for victims and survivors.

The Redress Scheme project is part of the Church of England's Safeguarding Programme, which aims to embed structure, quality assurance and continuous improvement in line with its Safeguarding principles. Following the Church of England's recently approval of a comprehensive redress scheme for survivors of Church-related abuse, the project is now moving into the implementation phase, and we are looking for a new member of the team to help us prepare for the opening the Scheme.

The role will work with multiple NCI departments involving, for example, HR & Payroll, Finance & Resources, Legal, among many others as well as Safeguarding Bishops and Safeguarding teams of the Church of England in support to the mission of the Church of England and this Programme's in particular, as well as external stakeholders, including the media.

To assist this project, there is a requirement for a Comms & Engagement Manager role to be performed by a specialist with relevant experience and expertise. The role will be primarily focused on communications and media, with an emphasis on working under public scrutiny.

Role Summary

The UN Policy Manager (all genders) supports our ambitious efforts to engage with international institutions to bring food system transformation and sustainable diets to the heart of the global policy agenda. They will work within our UN team to mainstream a shift towards plant-based diets as a proven climate change adaptation and mitigation solution. 

We are looking for a candidate to lead our biodiversity policy and advocacy workstream, including our engagement with the UN CBD. The ideal candidate is a biodiversity expert with demonstrated experience of influencing policy outcomes at national or international level. A strong understanding of relevant financial mechanisms, instruments and entities, and experience in engaging with international policy processes and UN agencies is a plus.

The UN Policy Manager (all genders) will report to the Head of UN Affairs and will work collaboratively with other teams including programmes, communications, research, impact, and country policy managers. The successful candidate will also work closely with external partners and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Advocacy & Stakeholder Engagement (60%)

• Establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with external stakeholders and identify opportunities and strategies to improve engagement with policy-makers, environmental and other aligned organizations, healthcare officials, corporate leaders, scientific bodies, and grant-making organisations.

• Identify opportunities to influence policy narratives and (climate) agenda on biodiversity issues (international events, calls for contribution of UN agencies, coalitions work etc.)

• Collaborate with ProVeg country teams to develop a targeted outreach to national policymakers and spread our Diets Toolkit contributing effectively to our global policy impact.

• Develop ProVeg’s positions and advocacy strategy regarding biodiversity and agriculture/food systems. 

Partnership & Coalition Coordination (20%)

• Build a strong network of organizations and individuals in support of our advocacy work at the different UN bodies, specifically the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, and participate in coalitions and joint advocacy campaigns.

• Maintain a database of activities, contacts, and external engagements in Hubspot. 

Event Planning & Logistics (10%)

• Coordinate talks, press conferences, and networking events in the lead up to different events (SB64, COP17, COP31).

• Speak at public events, fora, and other platforms, and serve as a representative of ProVeg to the public and the media.

• Support planning of logistical arrangements for different events (badging, travel, accommodation etc.).

Communications & Outreach (5%)

• Raise the profile of ProVeg online and offline by writing compelling content (e.g. Op-Eds) for targeted websites, campaigns, social media, mainstream media & PR (including broadcast media) with the support of our Communications team

Impact Tracking (5%)

• Support maintenance of up-to-date record of our engagements, activities and impacts.

• Assist with funding reports or donor updates.
   

Qualifications

• You hold at least a Master’s degree in political science, public affairs, law, or a similar subject. 

• You bring 3-5 years of relevant experience in policy work, and a demonstrated track record influencing international or national policy outcomes on biodiversity or a related field.

• You have a good understanding of international multilateral processes and entities (e.g., United Nations, IPCC), especially CBD COPs (advantage).

• You demonstrate excellent command of English, both oral and written; additional languages are a plus.

• You possess excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and a strong international policy network.

• You have a good understanding of food system transformation and protein diversification, particularly as they relate to biodiversity.

• You are passionate about ProVeg’s mission and believe in the power of impact-driven decision-making for achieving social change.

About the role

Reporting in to the Strategy & Performance Lead, the Business Planning & Performance Specialist will co-lead the corporate planning and reporting cycle, cascading the global strategy into annual corporate plans and OKRs, while fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. 

The post-holder will partner with their assigned departments to support them to be high performing teams with business plans aligned to organisational values and goals, and together with the Strategy and Performance Lead and the Business Insights & Intelligence Analyst, they ensure alignment between departmental objectives, operational plans, measures of success and support high performance.

Some of the main responsibilities of the Business Planning & Performance Specialist will include:

• Support the Strategy and Performance Lead in setting and maintaining the strategic planning framework cascading strategy into annual business plans for all business units, enabling alignment with organisational values and goals.
• Co-Lead Corporate Planning and Reporting: Co-lead the organisation-wide corporate planning and reporting cycle—shaping the organisation annual corporate plan, defining OKRs, and tracking progress. Work alongside the other Business Planning and Performance Specialist to drive a consistent and effective business planning process.
• Lead Development of Business Plans and OKRs: Lead the development of annual departmental business plans and OKRs, ensuring alignment with corporate OKRs and integrating budgeting and risk management to produce coherent, strategically connected plans.
• Support Departmental Leadership: Work closely with Senior Management Teams—particularly within Income and Public Engagement, Finance, and Governance—to develop and deliver clear, trackable business plans aligned with organisational strategy. Serve as an active member of relevant departmental management teams to ensure Christian Aid’s strategy and corporate plan are fully embedded across both operational and strategic workstreams.
• Manage Corporate Performance Reporting: Oversee organisation-wide performance tracking and reporting, ensuring timely and accurate updates for senior leaders and key external stakeholders, including inputs to Christian Aid’s Annual Report & Accounts.
• Ensure Strategic Alignment: Liaise closely with the Strategy and Learning Manager and the Impact and Evidence Manager to ensure departmental plans are aligned with the overarching organisational strategy and can support effective reporting and performance management.
• Facilitate strategic decision-making, prioritisation, and tracking of performance against plans in the department, feeding back continuously to improve performance.
• Strengthen Leadership Engagement: Coordinate with senior leaders to support strategic engagement with business plans and performance reports, enabling strategic thinking, accountability, and maximising impact.
• Champion Data-Driven Culture: Promote and embed a data culture across the organisation, working closely with Business Insights & Intelligence Analysts to support data-informed decision-making.

• Significant experience in leading organisational planning and performance within a complex, multi-unit environment, including translating strategy into coherent, actionable operational and business plans.
