About the role

Sitting within the Community & Events Team, and more broadly the Income & Engagement Department, the Community Fundraising Officer plays a vital role in supporting the long-term growth, development, and delivery of Sands’ community fundraising activities.

This is a new role at Sands, and it is an exciting time to join our growing team. This role will support acquisition activity, national campaign delivery and provide outstanding stewardship to fundraisers, community group and Sands groups, maximising their fundraising efforts and strengthening their relationship to Sands. You will also support the development of Sands regional fundraising approach, providing operational and administrative support to the Community Fundraising Manager.

The role is key to enabling the scaling of national community campaigns, enhancing supporter led fundraising activity, delivering high quality supporter stewardship, and supporting the future development of Sands’ emerging regional fundraising model.

Main Responsibilities

Community Fundraising Delivery & Growth

• Working with the Community Fundraising Manager, develop and deliver a community fundraising strategy for both new and existing activities.
• Support and assist with the delivery of Sands' community fundraising portfolio, ensuring activities are monitored and excellent supporter experience is given so to maximise impact and growth of each product.
• Provide operational and administrative support across the community fundraising pipeline, including, building web pages and ad campaigns, managing enquiries, recording activity on the database, drafting communication and creating e comms.
• Support the implementation of Sands’ regional fundraising model over the next strategy period, working with internal teams to establish ways of working, build best practice and, to identify opportunities for local engagement and increased income.

Supporter Stewardship & Relationship Management

• Deliver high quality, personalised stewardship for supporter led community fundraisers, community groups, schools, clubs and societies, ensuring supporters feel valued, inspired and supported throughout their fundraising efforts.
• Maintain regular communication with supporters via email, phone, and social platforms, ensuring prompt responses, clear guidance and automating where appropriate to improve efficiency.
• Provide proactive stewardship to high potential fundraisers and groups, helping them reach and exceed their targets.
• Work in collaboration with the Supporter Care Team to ensure seamless supporter journeys and continuity of communication.
• Work in collaboration with the Volunteering Team to support Sands Volunteer Groups with their local fundraising activities.
• Review and implement a tiered thanking model, ensuring fundraisers of all levels are thanked appropriately and in a timely manner.

Marketing & Engagement

• Support the Community Fundraising Manager with the delivery of marketing activities for supporter led community fundraising.
• Assist with the development of marketing materials and ads for supporter led community fundraising, seasonal campaigns, and national challenges.
• Work with the Engagement Team to update and maintain the “Fundraise for Us” section of Sands’ website, ensuring content is inspiring, accurate and up to date.
• Gather case studies, stories and impact examples to support promotional activity and supporter motivation.
• Capture and create content for email and social media.
• Work with external agencies and provide admin support to maximise impact and capture learnings.

Administration, Data & Reporting

• Maintain accurate supporter records in the CRM, ensuring all relevant information is captured and updated in a timely manner.
• Support data insight and reporting processes, enabling effective measurement and optimisation of community fundraising activity.
• Prepare basic reports, summaries, supporter lists and stewardship logs.
• Manage logistical tasks relating to fundraising packs, stewardship materials and fundraising products.
• Ensure all activity complies with fundraising regulation, governance standards and Sands’ policies.

Cross Team Collaboration

• Work closely with the Community Fundraising Manager, Supporter Care Officers, Engagement Team, Events Team and Community & Volunteering Team to ensure joined up supporter experience across Sands.
• Support the wider fundraising programme during peak activity periods—including Baby Loss Awareness Week, Say their Name Day, Winter campaigns, and regional events—by assisting with supporter enquiries, content collation and campaign delivery.
• Attend Sands events, supporter activities and external meetings where required, occasionally outside of normal working hours.

General Responsibilities

• Be an active member of the Community & Events Team and Income & Engagement Department, collaborating with colleagues to optimise performance across all fundraising areas.
• Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to adapt within a fast growing, evolving fundraising function.
• Take part in monthly 1:1s, annual appraisals, and personal development reviews.

Person Specification

Skills & Experience

• Experience in a fundraising, events, community engagement, customer service or administrative role (charity sector experience advantageous).
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and communicate empathetically with supporters.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.
• Ability to write clear, engaging supporter communications.
• Comfortable using CRM systems, databases and digital platforms.

We’re looking for a talented Challenge Events Fundraiser to join our team in delivering our ambitious events strategy. This role is vital as we continue to develop incredible relationships with new and existing supporters helping them to network, influence and fundraise via challenge events. 

Through excellent supporter care and stewardship, the Challenge Events Fundraiser is required to increase income for our challenge events portfolio. Working with the Challenge Events Manager, the post holder will deliver the events strategy as well as contribute to its ongoing development.

To succeed in this role you’ll need to:
• Develop and grow networks of event supporters, volunteers and community organisations to increase participation in fundraising events and generate sustainable income for the charity.
• Deliver an effective supporter journey, providing high-quality stewardship which motivates and enables supporters to complete successful fundraising activities within their communities.
• Support the delivery of the charity’s event fundraising strategy, working closely with the Challenge Events Manager to achieve agreed income targets.
• Plan, coordinate and evaluate key challenge events within the fundraising calendar (e.g. Abseil, London Marathon, Great Birmingham Run), ensuring successful delivery and supporter experience.
• Act as a visible ambassador for the charity’s events programme, building and maintaining strong relationships with supporters, community groups and partners.
• Ensure all fundraising activity is delivered in line with relevant legislation, including UK charity law and Fundraising Regulator guidance.

About the role

Our passionate Regional Casework Coordinators are SSAFA’s front line of support for members of the armed forces community in need. They are the first point of contact for all beneficiaries into the Regional Office, assessing needs and allocating the case to one of our volunteer caseworkers.

You will sometimes handle complex problems from individuals who may be distressed, identifying the presenting and potential underlying needs to determine the best way to support the beneficiary. You will have ownership of cases from beginning to end, coordinating the casework process in a timely manner and ensure that the beneficiary journey is at the centre of the Service. You will have the opportunity to shape processes and procedures within the office which will lead to improvements in the service offered to clients.

To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA.

Whilst the post is homebased, to be eligible for this role you are required to live in the North East England or Yorkshire region, which includes North, South, East and West Yorkshire, Teesside, County Durham, Tyne & Wear and Northumberland. There will be occasional travel around these areas, and you may be required to travel at short notice for face-to-face meetings.

About the team

The team work remotely and pride themselves in maintaining a close working bond which ensures the smooth operation of the office. You will work closely with volunteers from the eight SSAFA branches in the Northeast and Yorkshire, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The successful candidate will work as part of a team 8, which includes a Regional Casework Manager and a Regional Manager for Casework and Community Engagement.

About you

To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing welfare advice in key areas such as housing, benefits, debt, disability, mobility or immigration issues. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR and experience in dealing with sensitive information and people in vulnerable situations. You will be able to provide excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.

It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families and if you have experience of recruiting and supporting volunteers. An understanding of the voluntary sector and preferably the military charity sector landscape across the Northeast and Yorkshire would be valuable.

Role Purpose 

The Product Lead – HOSTHub is responsible for identifying, prioritising, and resolving day-to-day product challenges across HOST’s digital platform. 

HOSTHub serves as the operational backbone of the organisation, enabling delivery across finance, legal, partnerships, and hosted partner services. In this role, the Product Lead ensures the platform functions effectively in practice—by understanding user needs, surfacing issues early, and driving the design, prioritisation, and rapid delivery of solutions. 

While contributing to the longer-term product vision in collaboration with the leadership team and development partners, the primary focus remains on operational product delivery. This includes managing fortnightly sprint cycles, maintaining a dynamic and prioritised backlog, and ensuring continuous alignment between user requirements, internal processes, and platform capabilities. 

The role requires a highly hands-on individual who thrives at the intersection of users, internal teams, and developers, with the ability to translate real-world challenges into clear, actionable product decisions. 

Core Responsibilities 

1. Product Problem Identification and Prioritisation 

Lead the ongoing identification of friction points, inefficiencies, and system gaps across HOSTHub use cases, including those impacting hosted partners, funders, and internal staff workflows. 

Maintain a dynamic, prioritised backlog of product issues and enhancements, informed by user insight and operational impact. 

Work closely with delivery teams across finance, legal, partnerships, and community support to understand how the platform performs in practice and where it falls short of user needs. 

Translate operational challenges into clear, well-defined product requirements that are actionable for development teams. 

Ensure prioritisation is driven by delivery urgency, risk exposure, and opportunities for efficiency, rather than abstract feature development. 

2. Sprint Management and Delivery Execution 

Own the end-to-end delivery of the product, managing fortnightly sprint cycles. 

Set sprint priorities, create and refine tickets, and ensure all development work is well-scoped, logically sequenced, and ready for delivery. 

Collaborate directly with development contractors to run sprint planning, stand-ups (where applicable), and sprint reviews. 

Validate completed work against real user workflows before release to ensure quality and usability. 

Maintain clear visibility of progress, risks, and dependencies, escalating blockers and trade-offs to the Operations Director as needed. 

Provide bi-weekly sprint reports outlining delivered outcomes, outstanding issues, and upcoming priorities. 

3. User Engagement and Feedback Loops 

Establish continuous feedback loops with both internal users (staff teams) and external stakeholders (hosted partners and funders). 

Conduct structured user conversations to understand how systems are used in practice, not just how they were designed to be used. 

Validate proposed solutions with users prior to development where appropriate, ensuring alignment with real needs. 

Ensure user insights consistently inform backlog prioritisation and shape sprint scope. 

Maintain a clear view of user satisfaction grounded in qualitative feedback, not just survey-based metrics. 

4. Cross-Team Operational Alignment 

Act as the central point of coordination across product, delivery teams, and external developers. 

Ensure HOSTHub effectively supports real operational workflows across key service areas, including Project Hosting, Hosted Grantmaking, and Capacity Building. 

Partner closely with Finance, Legal, and Partnerships teams to align system functionality with compliance, contractual, and reporting requirements. 

Identify and resolve misalignments between team processes and platform functionality, either by adapting the system or clarifying and standardising ways of working. 

5. Development Oversight  

Manage the day-to-day relationship with the development team, ensuring requirements are clear and issues are addressed promptly. 

Ensure all development outputs are practical, functional, and aligned with real operational needs. 

Avoid over-specification and unnecessary complexity, prioritising simple, implementable solutions. 

Track defects, rework, and technical debt, incorporating them into sprint priorities where they have a meaningful operational impact. 

6. Data, Workflow, and System Effectiveness 

Ensure HOSTHub captures and delivers data that is accurate, actionable, and aligned with reporting requirements. 

Identify and implement opportunities to automate key workflows, reducing manual effort across teams. 

Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure system logic supports compliance and audit requirements in day-to-day operations. 

Maintain clear, practical documentation of key workflows and system behaviours to support effective operational use. 

7. Risk, Compliance, and System Integrity 

Work closely with the Legal Lead and Operations Director to ensure product decisions do not introduce unmanaged risk. 

Prioritise data protection, security, and system reliability as core product considerations. 

Ensure compliance requirements, including data protection and financial controls, are embedded in how the platform operates in practice. 

Take clear ownership of system incidents or failures, coordinating response and ensuring timely resolution and follow-through. 

8. Contribution to Product Direction 

Contribute to longer-term product thinking, including roadmap development and the ongoing evolution of the system. 

Provide grounded input to strategy based on observed user behaviour, operational constraints, and delivery realities. 

Ensure product direction remains focused on solutions that are practical, scalable, and genuinely valuable to users.

Required Experience 

5–8 years’ experience in hands-on product management or product delivery roles, with clear ownership of day-to-day execution. 

Proven experience managing sprint cycles and working directly with developers to deliver iterative improvements. 

Strong track record of identifying user needs and translating them into effective product solutions. 

Experience working with complex operational systems involving multiple user groups and workflows. 

Ability to operate effectively in environments with evolving and loosely defined requirements. 

Comfortable working across technical and non-technical teams, acting as a practical bridge between them. 

Familiarity with system integrations, workflow tools, and data-driven platforms (e.g. CRM systems, finance platforms automation tools)

Job Purpose

Grandmentors Wolverhampton is a well-established and successful project that has been connecting mature volunteers with care experienced young people since 2019. As Project Coordinator, you will lead the core programme while heading up our brand new ‘Through the Gates’ pilot, which provides vital support for young people transitioning from custody back into the community. The Senior Community Engagement Coordinator role is to supervise, develop and support staff to deliver the Community, Advice & Support departmental plan. Mass Participation and Events Fundraising Lead

We are seeking an experienced leader to drive forward the development and implementation of the events and mass participation fundraising strategy.

Position: CE405 Mass Participation Lead

Location: Home-based, UK Nationwide. However, frequent travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

Salary: Circa £49,000 per annum (inner London weighting £3,950 per annum/pro rata or outer London weighting £2,457 per annum/pro rata may be applied in accordance with where you live)

Contract: Permanent

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Regional Fundraising this is an exciting role leading our ambitious vision for this area of our team. Worth currently over £2m annually we are looking to grow our income from third party and owned products and events.

You will provide strategic leadership to the Mass Participation team (2 direct reports and accountability for a further 6) as well as playing an active leadership role across the Regional Fundraising Team and Mass Engagement department, contributing to the wider directorate goals and objectives.

You will be an innovative thinker with the ability to review our existing programme, the wider market environment and identify opportunities for supporter acquisition, engagement, and retention. You will oversee a customer-centric approach where supporters receive an outstanding experience and feel proud of their continued contribution.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Developing strategy for events and mass participation products

· New fundraising product development

· Strategic leadership of a geographically dispersed team, embedding a culture of high performance

· Setting meaningful income and expenditure budgets and being able to accurately re-forecast putting action plans in place to mitigate shortfalls.

About You

We are looking for someone with experience of:

· Delivering targets with successful outcomes.

· Developing strategy for events and mass participation products

· Project planning and problem solving.

· Delivering formal presentations and public speaking.

· Budget development, planning and forecasting and an understanding of risk, mitigation and contingency planning.

· Achieving annual income and expenditure targets.

· Recruiting, managing, motivating, developing and training staff and/or volunteers.

· Analysing and interpreting data.

You will need a full driving licence and own vehicle (or can demonstrate that you meet the travel requirements of the role which include travelling extensively across the region/country).

Air Ambulances UK (AAUK) is the national charity supporting the lifesaving work of the UK’s air ambulance charities, enabling them to save even more lives every day.

Purpose of Post

The Policy and Public Affairs Officer will play a key role in supporting the development and delivery of AAUK’s policy and public affairs strategy, aligned with its manifesto.

The role will support engagement with Government, Parliament, and key stakeholders, contribute to policy development and analysis, and help coordinate AAUK’s public affairs activity, including APPG engagement, parliamentary events, and sector-wide influencing work.

The postholder will ensure that AAUK’s policy positions are evidence-based, clear, and impactful.

Key Responsibilities

Policy Development and Analysis

• Support the development of AAUK policy positions across health, emergency services transport, aviation, infrastructure, and other related policy areas supporting AAUK’s manifesto.
• Monitor Government consultations, legislation, and policy developments, producing clear briefings and summaries.
• Contribute to policy papers, consultation responses, briefings, reports, and parliamentary materials.
• Gather insights from stakeholders to inform policy development.
• Support horizon scanning and identification of policy risks and opportunities.

Public Affairs and Parliamentary Engagement

• Support engagement with MPs, Peers, Special Advisers, Civil Servants, and regulatory bodies.
• Assist in the coordination and delivery of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Air Ambulances, including meetings and secretariat support.
• Support planning and delivery of parliamentary events, receptions, roundtables, and stakeholder meetings.
• Track parliamentary activity relevant to AAUK priorities (debates, questions, committees, inquiries).
• Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across Westminster and devolved governments. 

Stakeholder Engagement and Communications

• Work closely with the UK's air ambulance charities to align messaging and policy priorities.
• Prepare briefing materials for internal and external stakeholders.
• Liaise with communications and fundraising colleagues to ensure consistent and accessible policy messaging.
• Support campaigns and influencing activity across priority policy areas.
• Maintain accurate stakeholder engagement records and tracking systems.

Research and Intelligence

• Conduct research into relevant policy, legislative, and sector developments.
• Monitor political and media developments, providing timely updates and insights.
• Contribute to evidence gathering and analysis to support policy positions.
