Hospitals need to free up beds by discharging patients who do not need to remain in hospital. Despite the pressures we want discharges to be safe, successful and as painless as possible for patients. We also want to ensure a patient is not readmitted into hospital. 

The Hospital Discharge Community Support Coordinator will match Age UK Lambeth (AUKL) volunteers and partner organisation volunteers to support a patient's discharge. Volunteers could provide support with transport, practical support such as food shopping or completing home safety checks. Upon discharge volunteers may continue supporting patients for up to 4 weeks, providing support in person (at the individual's home or in the community) and over the phone, linking them into support services and helping them access the community to prevent hospital readmission.

What you’ll be doing?

1. Oversee the development of a new, inclusive volunteer programme that offers a range of diverse and challenging volunteer roles to support patients leaving hospital and once settled home. 

2. Work in partnership with the VCS to create 100 volunteering opportunities to support hospital discharge.

3. Using the volunteer platform, Care for Me, track allocated tasks to ensure they’re completed. Monitor volunteer reports to review the support and work delivered under the project.

4. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with King’s College Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital to ensure appropriate referrals are made into the service.

About the Project – Door of Hope (East London)

The Door of Hope Project provides support to women who sell sex in Tower Hamlets.  This includes journeying alongside women, whilst providing advocacy, information, emotional and practical support.  The project also has a strong team of around 15 volunteers, who deliver street outreach to women in Tower Hamlets on a Thursday morning and Friday night. 

About the Role

Beyond the Streets is a UK charity with over 20 years’ experience of partnering with women in the sex industry, to see them safe from coercion, violence and abuse. We deliver trauma-informed, person-centred support, provide training, and create resources and reports informed by research, lived experience, and practitioner experience.

Our ‘Direct Work’ is central to the organisation, and we are looking to recruit a new Women’s Support Worker.

Taking a woman-centred approach, your role is to provide holistic support for women with complex needs who want support, or to exit the sex industry. We are looking for someone with energy, motivation and experience of working with vulnerable adults; someone who a highly developed sense of self-awareness who can work in a gender and trauma informed way.

This role will be part of a small team of support workers, and a service manager, who deliver an in-person support service, with women who sell sex on-street in East London. You will have frontline experience of working with individuals who experience multiple disadvantage. This might be in the VAWG sector, domestic abuse, substance misuse, mental health or counselling or direct experience of women in the sex industry. You will have a good understanding of working with vulnerable people and be aware of the need for Safeguarding.

You will be a champion of the cause, have a passion for supporting women who face multiple disadvantages and be familiar with the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) sector.

Key Focus Areas:

Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, you will tailor training design and content to meet the specific needs of the business, create engaging content that caters to diverse learning preferences, across groups of varying sizes / seniority levels. M&E Compliance Manager

We are seeking a dedicated M&E Compliance Manager to lead on the delivery of statutory compliance and planned safety programmes across housing stock, working with a charity committed to providing safe, compliant, and well-maintained homes.

About the Role
This pivotal role will manage, and coordinate inspections and remedial works related to gas, electrical safety, water hygiene, asbestos, fire safety, and lifts. You’ll lead a small team and work closely with delivery partners, ensuring that all compliance activities are effectively scheduled, completed, and auditable in line with legislation and sector best practice.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering planned compliance work programmes and overseeing contractor performance.
• Leading statutory inspections and managing compliance records via property databases.
• Providing assurance that IDS meets the standards set by the Regulatory Framework for Social Housing and other regulatory bodies.
• Managing and developing a small team of Compliance Officers.
• Promoting a strong culture of safety, transparency, and continuous improvement.

About You
You’ll bring a strong background in property compliance, a working knowledge of building safety legislation, and the leadership skills to drive performance and improvement.

You will have:

• Proven experience in managing statutory M&E compliance in a housing or property context
• A relevant technical or compliance qualification (e.g. NEBOSH, IWFM, HNC/HND in Building Services)
• Strong knowledge of H&S legislation, the Building Safety Act 2022, and CDM regulations
• Demonstrable success managing contractors and compliance systems
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
• Strong analytical and reporting capability using system-based compliance data
• A values-led approach and the ability to thrive under pressure
