As an Assistant Community Shop Manager (ACSM) for St Giles Hospice you will support in leading a team of volunteers. You’ll be empowered to make decisions locally whilst working within a supportive framework. You’ll work within and for your local community ensuring that engagement and support is understood and promoted.

You’ll have good customer service skills and want to be part of a successful team. Ideally, you’ll have previous retail experience with the ability to manage and lead the store in the absence of the Community Shop Manager (CSM).

Reporting into the CSM and working closely with the Retail Regional Manager you will aid in supporting your store to run efficiently and deliver a positive financial contribution to the Hospice. You’ll also have the support of a Retail Regional Supervisor, available to provide store encouragement and development of best practice.

We have a great opportunity for an efficient and organised individual to join our Governance Team, providing maternity leave cover. 

Working closely with two other Governance Officers, you will provide support and guidance to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) Council and its Committees. The three Governance Officers are responsible for the day-to-day operation of Council and Committee work, as well as the running and administration of key CSP events. This includes arranging meetings, maintaining accurate records/policies, overseeing elections and appointments. The team also organises the annual representative conference and general meeting.

With your first class organisational and communication skills and an adaptable approach, you will be at ease working to tight, and often changing, deadlines and work streams. You will have working experience with a governing body or committee, and ideally have worked in a similar position within a membership, professional body or trade union. A proven understanding of the concepts and workings of corporate governance is essential, along with excellent IT skills, including advanced use of Microsoft Office.

The estate includes 22 shops and e-commerce operation with a turnover of approx. £3.5 million which supports the overall income generation strategy. 

This important role will represent FareShare Sussex & Surrey engaging with corporate partners and key stakeholders such as council leaders, politicians and dignitaries across the region. 

Using your experience in engagement and relationship management you will work to consolidate existing partnerships and seek new opportunities across Sussex & Surrey, working to build strong relationships locally and encourage partnership, donations, sponsorships and corporate volunteering. ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Compliance, Risk and Audit to join the wider Compliance, Audit and Risk team at SIG! You will have the overall responsibility of keeping participants, residents, and staff safe. The team manages the development, monitoring, and reporting of several areas including but not limited to accidents, incidents, and near misses (AINMs), safety reviews, safeguarding, whistleblowing, complaints, policy and procedure, health and safety, internal audit, business continuity planning and data protection.

As The Head of Compliance, Risk and Audit, you are the lynchpin of the wider team, linking strategic vision with solid and accountable implementation. You will be responsible for developing the team in the broad space of compliance as well as in their own areas of specialism, ensuring that a transparent and accountable compliance framework is implemented and embedded in line with regulatory and legislative change.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. At least 2 days per week in central office (Islington) and our services which are in and around London, Brighton & Hove, Kent, Havering, Bedford, Luton, Nottingham, and Liverpool.
The additional 3 days can be worked from home. You may at times be required to visit a service more than 2 times within a week.

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Line Management and leadership throughout employee lifecycle this includes; Recruitment, Onboarding, Inductions, training, support and supervision, relations, wellbeing support, and other areas.

• Oversee the Safeguarding infrastructure, deputising for the designated safeguarding lead (DSL) as necessary. Oversee complaints and other processes and develop these to ensure they are safe, fair, equitable, and fit for purpose.
• Support services with commissioner led quality assurance framework (QAF) inspections and those registered with the CQC to maintain their portfolios and ensure they are ready for inspection at any time to retain their registrations.
• Promote and support a positive whistleblowing culture, assist Champions, People and Culture, managers and the audit and compliance team on concerns raised and ensuring the whistleblower is protected.

Reporting and Analysis

• Attend and develop AINMs review meetings for maximum impact in terms of positive safety culture. Ensure the lessons learned from AINMs reviews, safety reviews, and safeguarding concerns are shared and feedback loops are closed.
• Review the collation and analysis of AINMs and Safeguarding alerts, developing the Audit and Compliance team, as well as other operational teams in reflection and root cause analysis

Data Protection

• Monitor the use of external data protection and compliance partners to ensure we maintain ICO requirements and maintain our Data Security Protection Toolkit Certification.
• Monitor and ensure integrity in document control, policy, and procedures as they are developed, reviewed, and published.
• Understand and support an Information Security infrastructure alongside additional teams in the organisation and support Managers and teams with training and challenges where necessary.

 Principle purpose of the post:

The Operations Manager will work closely with the Chief Executive supporting on contractual service delivery (including the management of risk), quality and improvement across the organisation and ensure quality services are provided. MAG is for looking for a highly motivated and dynamic and experienced governance professional who will contribute to the continuous development and growth of the organisation, to join the team as our Head of Governance. You will provide high-quality, strategic corporate governance advice and operational secretariat support to MAG’s Board of Trustees and Leadership Team to ensure that our governance arrangements are efficient and effective as well as comply with regulatory and internal requirements and sector best practice. As part of the role, you will lead a small team that provides Management Support services to staff working in MAG’s Manchester office, including office administration and travel management.

About you:

We are looking for an experienced governance professional, who has demonstrable experience of supporting and advising a Board of Trustees and its Executive, as our new Company Secretary. You will have experience of working with the Charity Commission and as a Data Protection Officer. Additionally, your ability to analyse and interpret complex data and present written and verbal information in a clear and concise manner is an essential aspect of this role.

You must be able to advise Boards and Executives comprehensively and succinctly on corporate governance matters and excel at building and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues across all levels of an organisation and key external stakeholders (e.g. regulators and external advisors). Experience of having worked for an international NGO or comparable organisation is ideal not essential.

District Secretary for Administration and Compliance

Do you have the skill, experience and vision to lead in building and maintaining good practice for a newly amalgamated District of the Methodist Church?  We are a collaborative, justice-seeking family of churches, looking for a skilled senior administrator.

This is a senior leadership position in a merged organisation.

1. Collaboration with the District Chair and the District Secretary for Ministries & Vocations in the leadership of the District, and promoting the values of the District in all work practice.
2. Collaboration with the Mission Area Leads to facilitate support of the circuits in relation to the responsibilities of administration and compliance issues.
3. Responsibility for compliance with all relevant legal, financial, and governance matters, including compliance with the relevant parts of The Constitutional Practice and Disicipline of the Methodist Church, including:
   1. budget and accounting, in partnership with the District Treasurer;
   2. data protection;
   3. lay employment processes;
   4. safeguarding.
4. Working with the District Safeguarding Officers, the District Safeguarding Group and others to ensure safeguarding processes for the District are robust and effective.
5. Responsibility, together with relevant District officers and bodies, for strategy for property and finance across the District, and for its implementation.
6. Enabling the District Property Consents group to fulfil their responsibilities regarding property matters within the District.
7. Coordinating the District Grants Policy and its implementation through the District Grants Committee.
8. Ensuring that the District’s responsibilities for Reconciliation and Complaints are fulfilled, including liaising with the other District Leaders and ensuring the appointment and functioning of the District Local Complaints Officer and District Reconciliation and Complaints Support Group(s).
9. Collaboration with the District Chair and others to ensure good practice in internal and external communication, including through the District Communications Officer.
10. Engagement with the District Policy Committee and the District Scrutiny Group processes and meetings.
11. Fostering good and collaborative working relationships with holders of relevant district volunteer posts.

FearFree deliver services across the South West for victims of domestic abuse, those who harm and their families and victims of sexual violence and stalking. We provide responsive, victim focused and trauma informed support and this post is fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

This post will be based in our Devon domestic abuse service and is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of our services which include IDVA Support for high risk service users, Education and Recovery support for medium and standard risk, Behaviour Change Support for those who harm and support for children and young people who have witnessed domestic abuse and YPIDVA support for those in abusive intimate relationships.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

• Leading day to day operations within the Devon services.
• Line management of team managers
• Ensuring the services work to Accreditation best standards including Leading Lights and Respect.
• Monitoring the outcomes of the service, data and reporting to commissioning partners.
• Overall responsibility for safeguarding across the service.
• Building relationships with partner agencies across Devon.
• Promotion of our service across the local area.

Advising on new development opportunities

• Utilising data, local and national knowledge, identification of unmet needs, professional relationships and best practice to contribute to new opportunities.
• Ensure that the charity continually operates innovatively, flexibly and with service users’ needs at the heart of service design and delivery by horizon scanning, identifying emerging trends and new opportunities and lead through to successful implementation.

Leadership and management

• Provide inspirational leadership and effective management to the team ensuring that all staff and volunteers are actively working to achieve the charity’s vision, mission and strategic ambitions.
• Ensure all staff and volunteers are effectively performance managed and live the charity’s values and have all appropriate resources to achieve excellence in their field.
• Work alongside colleagues from across FearFree to provide support, assistance and management to over teams where required.

Budgets and Financial performance

• Contribute to the creation of annual and three year budgets and financial targets.
• Carefully monitor and evaluate both financial and non-financial performance and create contingency plans to predict and rectify any variables.
• Develop effective business cases to propose new developments within the annual budgeting process but also progress ad hoc opportunities as they arise.

Governance and regulation

• Provide regular performance and project reports to the Head of Services, Director of Services and Commissioning partners.
• Provide performance and project reports and attend regular meetings internally and externally as requested.
• Provide evidence based assurance that the service meets or exceeds the contract terms and report to commissioners against performance indicators

Relationships and partnerships

• Proactively build relationships with the wider statutory and voluntary partners across the charity’s areas of operation.
• Actively network across the operating area and beyond to build the charity’s reputation and harness support for the organisation.
• Effectively manage contractor relationships including sub-contractors to ensure FearFree is a priority provider.

At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice we care for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions. Our support services are wide ranging and bespoke to each family including end of life treatment and care, respite short breaks, counselling, sibling support groups, music therapy, home visits and much much more. 

It costs more than £5m each year to keep our doors open for families across South Yorkshire and beyond. We receive around 15% of our funding from government and the rest is sourced by our Income Generation team.  

The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Income Generation team at Bluebell Wood and we are now on the lookout for an experienced fundraiser to join us and take on the responsibility of developing, implementing and delivering the hospice’s Individual Giving portfolio.  

This is an area with a potential for significant growth over the next 1-3 years and beyond, and we are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable self-starter to steer the next chapter of our progress and development as our Individual Giving Fundraiser.

The successful candidate will oversee the delivery and administration of Bluebell Wood’s Individual Giving income streams (in memory, legacy and regular giving) and work with the Individual Giving Manager to plan and implement a strategy to increase income growth in this area.
