Purpose of the job:

This key role in our fundraising team will be integral in helping the team meet our ambitious targets. Working predominantly on Trusts and Foundations applications, leading the development and submission of high-quality proposals, with opportunities to work across additional income streams. The postholder will be responsible for securing grants, developing relationships, providing excellent stewardship to funders, and working collaboratively with colleagues.

Key responsibilities include:

• Identify and maximise opportunities to raise funds – focusing on charitable trusts and foundations.

• Research and maintain a pipeline of prospects.

• Contribute to the achievement of ambitious team income targets.

• Create compelling, accurate and bespoke funding proposals, to a high quality and submitted on time.

• Build effective relationships with existing and potential funders to secure long-term funding and support for Kinship’s work.

Essential requirements include:

• Experience of successfully securing five figure grants from charitable trusts, foundations, and/or major donors.

• Excellent writing and presentation skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex information.

• Excellent attention to detail and methodical approach.

• Experience of developing and maintaining internal and external relationships.

This is a maternity cover contract so the successful candidate will need to get up to speed quickly, taking over responsibility for delivering the new Major Donor fundraising plan. The successful candidate will have previous experience of managing high level relationships and a track record of securing high value (5 and 6 figure) donations or new business. You will have outstanding interpersonal skills and be a confident communicator and able to build trusted relationships swiftly.  As this is still a new role, in a relatively young charity, your ideas will help shape this work and you will play a crucial part in driving the growth and sustainability of our fundraising in the UK.

You might have existing experience working with high-value donors, however we also welcome applications from candidates who have transferable experience from other areas - for example a sales or account management background.

Working Arrangements and Travel Requirements

Rainforest Trust UK staff work remotely and you will be expected to work primarily from home with an excellent internet connection. You may be based anywhere in the UK but you will be expected to work from a shared team space in London once a month, and your donor meetings/events are most likely to take place there.

The postholder will be required to host networking events and attend some online meetings with our partners in the U.S so some (early) evening working is required. We are also flexible as to how many hours this postholder works, and will consider a 3-5 day per week arrangement, depending on experience.

The Network Systems Manager maintains an overview of all DCS (Data Collection System) related activity and is responsible for ensuring that the development, maintenance and technical changes are conducted succinctly and delivered successfully in line with strategic goals across the entire organisation. 

Role responsibilities 

• To design and deliver a roadmap for the development of the Data Collection System, in line with the Trussell Trust’s strategic goals, and in collaboration with key stakeholders. 

• To manage the acquisition of DCS projects/changes, assessing value to different user groups using qualitative and quantitative analytical data to plan future support and development requirements of the system

Summary of the role:

The HR Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative support to the HR department, facilitating the efficiency of operations of all HR functions. This role is essential for maintaining an organised HR system and processes, assisting with data management, and ensuring compliance with HR policies. 

About the Role:

1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
2. Assist in preparing and maintaining reports on HR activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances and performance evaluations).
3. Accurate data entry of HR information systems to maintain data integrity.
4. Assist with data retrieval and reporting for compliance and HR planning.
5. Conduct regular audits on all HR trackers to correct discrepancies or missing documents in line with GDPR.
6. Regularly audit the HR information system (Personio) to ensure all profiles and documents are up to date. 

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. Education to degree level standard.
2. Previous experience as a HR Assistant, Staff Assistant, or relevant Human Resources/Administrative position.
3. Experience with HR software and database (e.g. HRIS systems like Personio, Cascade).
4. Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with people at various levels.
5. Strong ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
6. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of the work.

This role is based at our centre a short walk from Clapham Common tube station, in London. We support homeless people from the local area and further afield. Our services are open access, so the people who come to the Ace of Clubs are diverse and from multiple walks of life. Our purpose at the Ace of Clubs is to address people’s basic human needs by providing food, clothing, toiletries, and practical support. We help people link up with housing, healthcare, education, and employment. Our Support Workers work to help individuals overcome barriers to achieving wellbeing, whether it be through guidance in the support system, learning new skills or supporting service users to build the confidence and skills to enable them to navigate their life challenges and advocate for themselves. KEY DUTIES

•         You will maintain and update standard operating procedures for processing applications.

About the role
