About You

Are you an experienced and confident fundraiser with a trusts and statutory background with the motivation to drive real change for the Armed Forces community? If you have experience in inspiring donor support through persuasive and creative proposals and building positive relationships, and have a can-do attitude, it would be great to have you join our team.

• Experience in a high value fundraising role, raising money from trusts and foundations and/or statutory funders.
• Experience of developing compelling funding proposals, including budgets with programme managers and other stakeholders
• Experience of building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills, organisational skills, and attention to detail
• Excellent writing skills to produce compelling funding proposals and reports for funders.
• Ability to work on your own initiative to manage projects, plan, and set priorities.
• A good understanding of the trust fundraising and/or statutory fundraising environment including key compliance considerations and trends in the sector.

About the Role

In this role you will form a vital part of our High Value Partnerships team; achieving or exceeding agreed income targets through tailored and compelling fundraising proposals to existing and new funders; and matching donor interests with Help for Heroes’ programmes.

You will deliver excellent stewardship managing a portfolio of high value donors, delivering against donor objectives, and seeking opportunities to develop and broaden support. Whilst also contributing to the wider Trusts and Foundations, and Partnerships strategies, including taking on management of special projects as and when required.

About the Team

The Trusts and Foundations Team is made up of the Trusts and Foundations Senior Partnership Manager, the Trusts and Grants Manager, and the Trusts and Foundations Executive, part of the wider High Value Partnerships Team, Commercial Directorate.

This is an exciting time for growth within this highly motivated team, and this role will play an integral part in our strategy building on our existing pipeline, working collaboratively to make a big impact. You will be working remotely but with regular opportunities for face-to-face meetings with the team, partners, and beneficiaries, usually held in London, Birmingham, Salisbury, or Swindon.

About the role:

We're looking for an Individual Giving Manager who will lead the charity’s individual giving programme during an exciting period of growth. You will deliver key activities aimed at building our profile, donor base and unrestricted income in line with our strategic objectives. This will be achieved through the delivery and strategic development of warm and cold cash acquisition, a face-to-face regular giving programme, effective retention strategies and initiatives that will build our contactable base of supporters. This role will also be responsible for the development of our gifts in wills programme, including creating marketing campaigns and materials to grow gifts in wills income. The role is involved in both strategic planning and implementation.

This role is a unique opportunity to double income from individual giving and be an integral member of a hardworking, friendly and passionate team. Our staff benefits:

Background

Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. We work in twelve areas/regions of the UK and will support 3,800 children in 2025-26.

Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme pairs struggling five to seven-year old (P2-4) readers with reading support volunteers who are working professionals. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability. 

From a school perspective, online reading volunteers provide direct, meaningful literacy support for up to 10 pupils per class. The programme is particularly suitable for communities where it might be challenging to find parents and other volunteers who can commit to physically visiting schools to boost reading. Job Summary

Chapter One is seeking a Scotland Programme Manager who is an excellent communicator and is able both to motivate and support schools and teachers to implement our online reading volunteers programme, and also to ensure that the programme’s impact and benefit to disadvantaged communities is maximised throughout the academic year.

The post is ideal for someone looking for part-time, flexible, term-time only work from a home base and who is able to travel frequently in and around the Glasgow and Edinburgh areas. The postholder will be joining a team of established Programme Managers (also part-time) who work in different parts of the UK and will need to have some flexibility to work additional hours during busy autumn months, and conversely to work fewer hours during quieter periods of the year.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Effectively explain Chapter One’s online reading volunteer programme and its benefits to school leaders and teachers
• Install, setup and maintain Chapter One equipment in participating classrooms
• Fully understand the operation of the Chapter One platform and database and communicate this to others 
• Organise and conduct initial teacher training and follow-up
• Ensure a smooth initial launch of Chapter One’s programme in every classroom
• Liaise with colleagues performing technical and volunteer support roles
• Through regular visits to/contact with schools, provide on-going embedded professional learning and support to teachers throughout the year as needed  
• Proactively monitor classroom adherence/fidelity to the Chapter One model, including systematic review of data reports and volunteer feedback, taking proactive action to resolve problems that arise
• Analyse and manipulate data (largely in Google sheets) to produce reports and identify trends
• Create regular data summaries for all participating classrooms
• Lead annual review meetings for senior leadership at participating schools
• Support programme monitoring, evaluation and research as required
• Coordinate in person and virtual school ‘visits’ of volunteer teams to classrooms where necessary. This may include opportunities for Chapter One children to visit the office of the volunteers.
• Liaison with corporate partners as required
• Weekly communication and status updates with Senior Programme Manager(s) and wider team
• As a new school year approaches, secure commitments from returning schools and find and target new schools to join Chapter One’s programme 

Role Requirements: 

Essential

Headway is seeking a passionate and driven Individual Giving Fundraiser to join our Fundraising Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting people affected by brain injury by helping us grow and nurture our individual donor base.

This role is available on a permanent contract and full-time basis (35 hours a week). There are very flexible working arrangements on offer for this role, however an expectation to be in the London Waterloo office for Board/Committee/Team meetings. The salary for this role is £40,500.

Within this role you will report to the Chief Operating Officer, and lead and coordinate all governance responsibilities and company secretarial functions for the organisation's Board and its Members’ Council, South Bank BID, and work closely with the Company Secretary for Jubilee Gardens Trust.

You will lead and coordinate meetings, this will include scheduling, agenda preparation, minute-taking, and follow-ups. You will manage statutory filings and compliance processes with Companies House, Charity Commission, and other regulators. You will maintain accurate governance records, policies, and filing systems in line with GDPR and audit requirements. You will support onboarding, training, and governance advice for Trustees, Directors, and Council members. You will oversee and improve governance frameworks, ensuring consistent templates, systems, and best practice. You will provide support with health and safety governance, risk registers, and insurance renewals in collaboration with internal teams. You will play a key role in coordinating governance reviews, policy updates, and supporting continuous improvement across governance and compliance functions.

You will be educated to degree level or have equivalent professional experience. You will have relevant knowledge of company and/or charity law, GDPR, and ESG reporting. You will have proven experience supporting Boards and Committees, in either the commercial or not for profit sectors. You will have a strong understanding of governance and statutory compliance requirements (Companies House and Charity Commission). 

You will have experience of coordinating board papers, preparing agendas, and minute-taking. You will have the ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion. You will have experience liaising with auditors, brokers, and external stakeholders including Board members, directors and trustees. You will have some experience supporting policy development and governance training initiatives. You will also have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Desirably, you will be proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM database, and document management.

Camp Jojo is currently in transition. Over the first 8 years it has worked from one established site in Mersea, Essex; but we are now opening a second site (Nag’s Head Farm) near Appleby in Cumbria. The role of Volunteer Manager (Nags Head Farm) is to provide the management and administration of the key Volunteer sector of Camp Jojo, and to offer administrative support and feedback to members of the Camp Jojo Board in this regard.

The Volunteer Manager will be responsible for successful initial contact, recruitment, communication with and administration of volunteer for the Nag’s Head Farm camps, through to their successful placement at camp. They will also work closely with the Operations Manager: Families and Site Ops. (Nags Head Farm). They will be guided in their role with the existing managers at Ivy Farm, Mersea, Essex.

The primary task of the Volunteer Manager (Nag’s Head Farm) will be to oversee the whole process of Volunteer applications to camps at Nag’s Head Farm, and to maintain and develop databases in support of this. They will be the contact point for information and support throughout the Nag’s Head Farm volunteers’ pathway with Camp Jojo. In addition, they will attend and minute meetings which concern volunteer management, etc.

They may need to work flexibly; the demands will be seasonal, with many more hours needed through spring and summer than autumn and winter. They will also need to be present for the first day of the camps during the summer, which are mostly during the school holidays. The Volunteer Manager (Nag’s Head Farm) will have a varied and sometimes high-paced job environment. As such, they will need to handle multiple tasks, manage their own time well, and interact professionally

We are working with Dogs for Good who are seeking a new Community Partner.

Dogs for Good is a registered charity dedicated to advancing the boundless possibilities of what a connection between people and dogs can enable – in making everyday life fuller, healthier, and happier for everyone involved.

The new Community Partner will work with hundreds of volunteers and partners. You will set up simple activities, match speakers to talks and help groups run great events. You will help people join local challenges, cheering them every step of the way. Your daily contact with supporters will show how much Dogs for Good value their help. You will see progress, and share clear, useful reports.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• Experience in community fundraising or volunteering.
• Confidence using a database (D365 training provided).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability work under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels including volunteers and external partners.
• Comfortable around dogs and dog-friendly events.

A background in charity or education is desirable, basic reporting (Excel) would be an advantage.
