The Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Lead is responsible for overseeing income generation from corporate partners and growing high-value support from major donors to fund the vital work of Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

This newly created role will develop and implement strategies and plans across two areas:

• Oversee a team focused on building and maintaining corporate partnerships with businesses across our six-county operating region, covering Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, West Midlands, and Worcestershire.
• Engage major donors and secure transformative gifts both on an individual basis as well as part of a bespoke programme.  

The Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Lead will be responsible for ensuring effective prospecting and exceptional supporter stewardship, maximising income generation in the short, medium and long term.

The role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced high-value fundraiser to work in close collaboration with our CEO and senior leadership team, and Chair and wider board of Trustees, to develop these two key income streams.

The post holder will be creative, an outstanding communicator, and a natural networker, skilled in unlocking new opportunities and securing transformational five and six-figure gifts.

ABOUT THE ROLE 
You will be responsible for the financial management and reporting of the organisation. You will

The main purpose of this role is to:
- Manage the accounts department to run efficiently and effectively. 
- Ensure sales and purchase ledgers are accurate and up to date, other income is recorded accurately, profit and loss reports provided monthly and management reports are provided quarterly and end-of-year is completed on time. 
- Manage banking arrangements to make supplier payments, collect income through direct debits and online payment gateway.

• Manage the relationship with any external support companies for the relevant products and interconnected products and systems including accounting online, bank checking and deduping systems.
• Manage the data cleanliness, accessibility, availability and retention in accordance with our data governance and security policies particularly the information and data management framework. And develop and maintain automated processing of bulk data.
• Enshrine continuous improvement into the use and development of our Products.

Our use of Product Management comprises of all of our critical business systems (Finance, HR, Intranet, Microsoft end user applications).

Our Head of Product and Systems Management plays a crucial role in the development and delivery of our Product and Systems Management. This role is also responsible for defining and delivering the Product and Systems Management team’s strategy/roadmap and ensure they are delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

Major Gift Fundraising (50%)

• Identify, cultivate, and secure partnerships with corporations and major donors, aligning their CSR goals and giving priorities with our mission.
• Leverage existing partnerships and relationships with corporations and major donors to grow a wider network of US-based corporations.
• Develop and manage sponsorship opportunities for campaigns, programs and events.
• Oversee all corporate engagement activities, including employee giving, volunteering and cause marketing campaigns.
• Develop and deliver corporate events to build relationships with and raise funds from our developing network of US-based corporations.

Qualifications & Experience:

Job Description – Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Responsibility 1: Income generation

1. Achieve an agreed annual high value grant income target to support the Trust’s strategy and business plan.
2. Write and co-ordinate high-quality high value grant applications ensuring deadlines are met and all internal contributors are clear as to their role.
3. Work with the fundraising team leads and head of fundraising to strategically plan funding needs for approved projects.
4. Ensure that match funding needs resulting from grant applications are identified, communicated early and integrated into wider fundraising planning.
5. Ensure all applications (whether successful or not) are recorded on the Trust database.
6. Use grant applications to support BAU income generation where appropriate/possible.
7. Line manage the Grants Officer.

Responsibility 2: Project Development

1. Support cross organisational bids and project development, working with colleagues and partners to develop new project concepts and support the writing of applications and reports.
2. Develop detailed and accurate budgets for projects and funding applications, and which support contributions of Core funding and aligning with the Trust’s financial processes and reporting.
3. Work with the Head of Fundraising to assess and write updates on project funding milestones and income pipelines for the Programme Management board (PMB)
4. Maintain an up-to-date overview of project funding (current and planned) and track funding opportunities and match with the Trust’s project priorities.
5. Work with fundraising managers within the team to create strategic, cross income stream, funding plans to help support organisational projects.

Responsibility 3: Develop Relationships with Grant Giving Bodies

1. Research and identify new grant giving bodies that could help support projects and core work .
2. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with potential and existing major funders to deepen their involvement with and support for the Trust, in co-ordination with the Grants Officer.
3. Keep abreast of grant fundraising trends in the UK conservation and fundraising sector and follow new funding developments such as innovative finance mechanisms that can be applied to the Trust’s work, including through networking and researching funding opportunities.

The work of the Hospice is vital – to the people they support, their families and to the community.

The Hospice works in collaboration with the NHS, other hospices and local councils to generate funding and to ensure it is easier for people to get the palliative and end of life care they need. Fundraising is crucial to the continuation of the services provided with c81% of monies coming in via gifts from the community.

Amongst other criteria, the successful candidate will have:

• A proven track record of successful income generation across multiple fundraising streams, ideally including major donors, events, trusts and foundations, legacies, corporate partnerships and community fundraising.
• A proactive and strategic mindset, with the ability to spot opportunities, shape compelling cases for support, and deliver results.
• The confidence to operate at a senior level and deputise for the Charity Director when needed.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to build meaningful, lasting relationships with supporters, donors and volunteers.
• A deep connection to the mission of hospice care, and a commitment to our values of compassion, dignity and respect.

The post holder will identify and deliver profitable business development activity for the following areas: (i) sales related to MAAC training provider - securing group/individual bookings for our training and education courses; (ii) the sale of room hire at our Airbase and Charity Headquarters and (iii) support with other ad hoc income generation projects. .

In this varied role, you’ll support the planning and delivery of fundraising events, care for our amazing supporters, and assist with individual, community, and corporate fundraising activities. You’ll gain hands-on experience across multiple fundraising areas, playing a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of the team’s work through excellent administrative and project support.

Who are we looking for?

• A positive, enthusiastic and results-driven attitude with the ability to work on your own initiative or as part of a team. 

• IT literacy with knowledge of Microsoft packages.
