We have a new exciting opportunity for a Deputy Projects Manager to join our team based in Hastings. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis (37.5 hours per week) and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £28,685 per annum.

About us:

YMCA DownsLink Group are opening a brand-new 47 bedded supported accommodation service in Hastings for young people between the ages of 16 and 25. We need an enthusiastic and determined Deputy Project Manager to work alongside the Project Manager to oversee this new service and lead the team to ensure effective delivery.

The role:

As our Deputy Projects Manager, you will provide high quality, safe, welcoming and secure supported housing for residents with a range of support needs, which enables them to articulate and achieve their aspirations and ambitions, and acquire the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives, by actively identifying, mapping and encouraging the growth of their assets, strengths and talents.

Key responsibilities of our Deputy Projects Manager include:

- Working alongside the Projects Manager to oversee the day to day operation of the service to ensure that the requirements of the service specification are met
- Ensuring that the accommodation and all shared spaces are Psychologically Informed, safe, warm, homely, welcoming and secure, and that staff are visible and accessible at all times
- Overseeing the resident referral process in accordance with the contract and service specification, and building and maintaining positive and effective relationships with referrers and partners
- Ensuring that staff record up to date and accurate information on Inform and organisational databases in relation to contacts, risks, rents, safeguarding, anti-social and risk-taking behaviour, multi-agency work, and incidents
- Ensuring that staff are adequately trained, and empowered, to work effectively and creatively with young people to enable them to achieve the best possible outcomes
- Attending relevant multi-disciplinary meetings, ensuring close working links with relevant agencies, operating a partnership approach to working with individuals, and maintaining positive and close working relationships with a wide range of partners

Our ideal Deputy Projects Manager will have:

- Undertaken training courses relating to housing, support work and working with young people or vulnerable people generally
- Safeguarding children and/or vulnerable adults training
- Relevant vocational qualification e.g. housing, social work or youth work
- A good understanding of the needs of young people and the components of an effective support service
- A good understanding of psychologically informed environments, trauma-informed approaches and the principles of restorative practice
- The ability to engage, inspire, motivate and empower people
- The ability to communicate well at all levels; including commissioners, senior management, partners and service users
- The ability to remain calm and solution-focused in order to deal with challenging behaviour, resolve conflict and help others do the same
